《His Possession》THIRTY-FIVE

I smiled and touched my lips. My cheeks blushed and my ears turned hot. I walked over to the door and locked it.
I walked towards the living room where Tanner and Anthony were typing away on their phones with the tv on. I sighed and walked up stairs to Jaxons room and grabbed undergarments and Jaxons t-shirt and a pair of my black sweats.
I walked in the bathroom and closed the door. I placed the gun on the counter with the phone and I went to turned on the water and clogged the drain. I got some bath salt and bath soap that Jaxon had under his sink. Once I spread the salt and the soap, I started to strip from my clothes and stared at myself.
I stilled had some marks on my wrist of my weight, and I looked down to my thigh and saw a disgusting pink scar. I gulped my throw up and blinked away the tears. I untied my hair. I stared at my feet and my ankles were still kinda swollen from the weights. I sighed and walked in the warm water and sank down.
I closed my eyes, letting my muscles relax. Once it past, I don't know, I guess like five minutes, I unclogged it and ran the shower head and washed my hair and my body.
I got out and wrapped a towel around myself and dried my self off. I didn't put a bra on because it hurts sleeping with them on so I placed on his shirt over and wore my underwear and my sweats.
I wrapped the towel around my hair and looked at the gun. The gun had initials of Landon.
I wonder what was his last name is, but it was carved at the end of the handle. The safety was on, but I switched it on and off. I switched it back on and unclipped the clip and saw it had twelve shiny bullets. All nice and gold, with little number indents on them. I snapped the clip back on and placed it on the bathroom counter and grabbed the phone.
His lock screen was him and Jaxon. I smiled, because both have an arm wrapped around each other's shoulders and giving a small smile. None showing teeth. They looked happy here. They didn't have their big black leather jackets, they just wore a plain shirt and some jeans hanging loosely on their hips, but not to the point where they are sagging.

I unlocked the phone and the wall paper was the same picture but they both were laughing. Who ever took that photo really took a good shot. They were looking at the phone and hunched over laughing at something I would never know. I smiled more and locked the phone. I picked up my clothes, the gun, and the phone and walked in the room. I tossed my clothes in the dirty basket that Jaxon had with his dirty clothes and I sat the gun and phone on the bed.
The clock on his nightstand showed it was 2:36am in big red lights. I sighed and rolled off the towel on my head. I walked back towards the bathroom and placed the towel on the rack and just wrapped my hair in a messy bun.
I walked out and grabbed socks. I placed them on and walked downstairs. Tanner fell asleep on the couch with his phone in his hand hanging off the edge of the couch. Anthony was on the floor snoring. I sighed, because I was hoping we can get to know each other.
I sighed and turned off the tv and made my way towards the kitchen. I haven't ate so I decided to make myself an omelette. I got everything out and I heated up the pan with the oil. I whisked the eggs together and poured it in the pan. I spread the cheese all over the middle and flipped one side over it.
I heated up water in the microwave and poured some coffee mix in it. I drank it black and made a face but continued to drink it. I grabbed a plate and placed my omelette on it and sat on the counter and ate quietly. I drank my coffee and finished my food.
I was about to place the plate in the sink but stopped when the front door knob rattled. I snapped my head towards the door and gulped. I stood on my tippy toes I saw the boys were still asleep.
I slowly placed the plate in the sink and tippy toed towards the door. I looked the pep hole and I saw no one was there. I looked through the blinds and saw that it was windy, so I thought it was the wind shaking the knob, but when I heard the back door rattled I knew something was wrong.

I sprinted up stairs and went for the gun and the phone. I placed the phone in my waistband because I didn't have any pockets. I held the gun next to my chest and ran downstairs.
I slapped Tanners face and did the same with Anthony. They both yawned but they got wide eyes. They jumped up and stood at their full height.
"Please don't tell Jaxon we were sleeping!" Anthony said but I shut him up by placing a finger on his lips.
"I think someone is here." I whispered.
They both turned around and stood in front me. We all stood quiet and listened. I gave Tanner the gun and Anthony went to the kitchen and came back with a knife. I don't know how, if the knives were in Jaxons room. But I guess he had one in the sink. I walked behind them and held on Anthony's shirt. We walked around the house and listened carefully.
We were about to go up stairs, but the back window broke and I gasped but quickly covered my mouth with my hands. They shifted in front of me and I held Anthony's shirt tighter. Tanner looked towards me and said,"Go hide in Jaxons room. Don't leave until one of us gets you. Hide somewhere in there and don't make a sound. Okay?" I only nodded and ran up stairs.
I ran into the closet and closed the door shut. I covered my mouth with my hands from stopping my heavy breathing. It was quiet but then I heard gun shots then screams of pain.
Tears rimmed my eyes and my heart was pounding against my chest. It turned quiet and I held my breath. My heart was pounding hard against my chest that it hurt, but I listened.
Footsteps walked up stairs. It was two pairs of feet. They walked a different way from the room, and I knew it wasn't Tanner or Anthony because they knew where I was.
The tears fell and I slowly let out my breath but quickly covered my mouth again. The footsteps came closer to the room and I held my breath and closed my eyes tight.
The door busted open and I clamped my hand harder. I heard the footsteps walk around and I heard one set of feet stop in front of the door.
More tears streamed down my cheeks and I tighten my eyes.
The door swung open and I was yanked out. I screamed and thrashed around. My eyes were shut and I screamed more.
"Why are you hiding love?" He said.
PLEASE! NO PLEASE!
I screamed louder and tried to push away from him. I guess he got fed up so he gripped my neck.
I clawed at his wrist to let go of me and I gasped for air. "Look at me!"
I didn't. I tighten my eyes and thrashed around.
He shook me violently and yelled,"LOOK AT ME!"
I had to look at him and he finally let go of my neck. I gasped for air but it was mixed with a sob and a hiccup.
He held me by my arms and smiled.
"Missed me?" He said.
"PLEASE!! NO PLEASE! LEAVE ME ALONE!" I gasped.
"Sorry, boss sent me for you." Louis said. He smirked and pulled me close and tighten his arms around me. He whispered in my ear."I missed you."
I screamed but he slapped me.
"Now. I have someone to introduce you to." He said while he turned me around and I saw the man.
I gasped and cowered away from him.
He smirked."Hello Jordan. You must know me, it's nice to finally see who my son has been seeing. Now. I want to go surprise him. Don't you think. Surprise him with you and his mother?"
I screamed and I felt a pinch in my neck.
JAXON! PLEASE SAVE ME!
Then I was met with darkness.

Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.
