Tori's POV

Me and Cali were at our lunch table just talking when Mark sat down.

"Mark what happened?" I asked as I saw the bruise on his cheek.

"Mark what did you do?" Cali asked.

"I'm fine," Mark muttered.

He had dry blood on his nose and a small scab of his lip. Then there was a bruise on cheek.

"Mark what happened?" I asked.

"Nothing," Mark said.

"Just tell us!" Cali snapped.

"Trent was saying shit about Tori," Mark said.

"Awww you stood up for your best friend," Cali said.

"What was he saying about me?" I asked completely ignoring Cali.

"Don't worry about it Tori. Weird thing though, Shawn had the pic of Trent with the cuffs. You gave it to him?" Mark asked.

"Uhhh yeah," I said.

"Well don't worry, Shawn showed the whole locker room." Mark said with a chuckle, "He's not that bad."

I smirked, "Ok. But don't get in fights Mark. Look at you."

"Look at Trent," Mark said looking over where Blake, Cole, and Shawn sat. Along with Trent but he sat at the very end, pissed off obviously.

I chuckled at Trent. He had two bruises. One on each side of his face, and he had a bloody lip and nose.

Cali laughed, "Nice job Mark."

Me and cali gave Mark a high five and laughed.

"You're an awesome friend," I said.

Mark smiled, "I know."

Me and Cali looked at each other then at the same time we lightly hit Mark's arm.

"Ow," Mark said with laugh.

The three of us all laughed, I love my friends.

Cole's POV

Shawn was acting werid today. I mean what the hell was that about. Yeah it was funny and crap but if Trent is mad at one of us he's mad at all three of us.

But Shawn is right Trent can be a dick. And the picture that Shawn doddled on is pretty funny. Shawn's right, Mark did have the confidence to stand up to Trent like that.

Football practice had been canceled because it was pouring outside. So after school me and Shawn got in Blake's car.

"Shawn what was the point of that?" Blake asked.

"Huh?" Shawn said.

"Today at gym class, what the hell got into you?" I asked.

"I just started thinking," Shawn said, "I'm tired of being a player. I'm done guys."

"What?" I asked.

"What gave you that idea?" Blake asked.

"Tori did," Shawn said, "When she handcuffed Trent it made me think. What if someone did that to me? I'd hate it, so I don't want anyone to ever do that to me, I seriously doubt someone would but still. I'm done."

I looked over at Blake and he smirked.

"Your loss," Blake muttered.

"No I think my IQ just went up," Shawn shot back.

I chuckled, "Whatever man."

We rode in silence until we reached home. I walked through the door my brother's following. Suzie had her face pressed on the window.

"Hey Suzie," I said.

"Is it just me or is it hot in here?" Suzie said with a shaky voice.

"It's just you," Blake said.

Mom came from the basement and looked at us, "Where's Tori?"

We stared at mom wide eyed then we looked out the window.

"YOU LET HER BIKE HERE!" Mom yelled, "What's the matter with you boys!?"

"We didn't see her," Shawn said.

"Yeah maybe she already left before we could ask." I said.

"Oh my god you boys are really something, I can't believe you." Mom started to pace and put a hand on her forehead.

That's when we saw the first lightning strike. Suzie yelped.

"To-Tori's out there!?" Suzie stuttered.

"What's the matter? Are you scared of lightning?" Blake asked with a small smirk.

Suzie didn't reply, instead she ran up to her room.

Me and my brother's waited around the table with mom. She wasn't letting us go anywhere until Tori came back. After a good half hour of waiting, through the rain I saw a figure pull up into out backyard.

"There she is!" I yelled.

Everyone looked over and mom grabbed a towel. Tori walked up the steps on the porch and stood at the door, soaking wet. Mom went over and as Tori walked in she wrapped a dry towel around her. Tori was so wet it honestly looked like she just walked out of a pool.

"Tori are you ok?" Mom asked.

"Yeah I'm ju-just co-cold," Tori stuttered through chattering teeth.

The house shook as thunder struck.

Tori looked around, "Where's Sue?"

"Upstairs in her room," Shawn replied.

"Go get into some dry clothes and take a hot shower, you don't want to catch a cold." Mom lead her to the stairs and Tori walked all the way up and to her room.

I looked at my brothers then flicked my eyes to the basement door. They nodded and we slowly made our way there, and just as we were going to go through the door, mom stopped us.

"Where do you think you boys are going?" Mom asked.

"To...to the basement," Shawn said.

"You three are grounded, no tv, no video games," Mom said.

"But mom," Blake started.

"For a week. Consider this a lesson," Mom left to the kitchen and we all groaned.

"What are we suppose to do? It's raining," I said.

"Excerxise," mom said flatly, "You have a gym downstairs."

"Come on guys," Blake made his way to the basement door and we slowly went downstairs.

"If I hear the tv on I'll move the penalty to a month," mom called after us.

I rolled my eyes and walked to the small workout section of the basement. I looked down at the mats and realized that Tori never showed me how to flip someone. She was about to but then my idiotic brothers took the picture from Suzie.

Blake took the bench press and I took the small punching bag we had. Shawn grabbed the mats and just did random stuff, like crunches and push ups.

After a good hour or two of rotating, we heard footsteps and we looked up to see Tori. Her hair was slightly wet but she looked dry other than that.

We acknowledged her but then I just went back to the push ups.

"Where's Suzie?" She asked.

"In her room still," I said.

"Damn it," Tori said. She went back upstairs and we heard the small chime that the garage door opened. Bill must be back.

"Guys!" Mom yelled down the stairs, "Dinners almost ready come up!"

I got up giving the punching bag one last punch and then we went upstairs.

"Hey boys," Bill said as we entered the kitchen.

"Hi Bill."

"Hey Bill."

"Evening Bill."

Shawn, Blake, and me said.

"Can you guys get Tori," Mom asked.

Another strike of lightning occured and it lit up the whole room. Following the lightning was a loud thounder clap.

Bill frowned as he looked outside, "Hey guys where's Suzie?"

"In her room why?" I asked.

"Suzie has Astraphobia," Bill explained, "When she was little we went for a trip to Florida, little did we know that a hurricane was passing by. She saw palm trees knock over, a car fly into a hotel, and there was a lot of wind and rain. Since then she's had a phobia over this kind of stuff. But lightning seems to be the worst. I'm just gonna go and check on her."

Bill quickly ran up the stairs two at time. I pulled out my phone and searched up Astraphobia.

"What are you doing?" Mom asked.

"Searching it up," I muttered quickly scanning the screen, "Here it is, 'Astraphobia an abnormal fear of lightning and thunder. Both humans and animals can produce this phobia.'"

Shawn had his phone out along with Blake.

"Symptoms may include," Shawn said reading off his phone, "Sweating, trembling, crying, panic attacks, the need to use the restroom, nausea, the feeling of dread, and rapid heartbeat."

Blake spoke up, "Occurs in many children, but is not considered a phobia unless it last six months or more. If it consists treatment should be recommended for the phobia. If not treated it may cause problems in adulthood."

I serached up the treatment, "'Treatment involves exposure to thunderstorms and building an immunity. Therapy is also considered a good source to treat Astraphobia.' That's pretty much it."

"Why don't you guys go check on her?" Mom said.

We all made our way to Suzie's room. I was about to open the door but Blake stopped me and put a finger over his lips telling me to be quiet. I looked at Shawn and he seemed to try to be concentrating on what they were saying.

I could hear Suzie crying and I assumed Bill and Tori were on her bed with her.

"Suzie it's just lightning," Bill said.

"It's not going to hurt you Sue," Tori added.

Just then there was a big crack in the sky and we heard Suzie yelp and start to sob.

"Close the blinds," she sobbed.

"Sue it's not going to hurt you. Isn't it cool when you see lightning, I mean a really big piece of light in the sky?" Tori said.

"No!" Suzie screamed.

"Suzie you need to calm down," Bill said.

We heard Suzie taking deep breaths but every so often we'd hear a small sob or a hiccup.

"To-Tori?" She asked.

"Yes Sue," Tori said.

"Ca-can you si-sing for me?" Suzie asked stuttering on her words.

"What song Sue?" She asked.

"I-I Won't Give Up," Suzie asked.

Tori chuckled, "Alright."

Bill started to slowly snap his fingers, giving Tori a beat. Every so often there'd be a stike of lightning and a thunder clap, but Tori just ignored those.

"When I look into your eyes

It's like watching the night sky

Or a beautiful sunrise

Well, there's so much they hold A

nd just like them old stars

I see that you've come so far

To be right where you are

How old is your soul? Well, I won't give up on us

Even if the skies get rough

I'm giving you all my love

I'm still looking up

And when you're needing your space

To do some navigating

I'll be here patiently waiting

To see what you find

'Cause even the stars they burn

Some even fall to the earth

We've got a lot to learn

God knows we're worth it

No, I won't give up

I don't wanna be someone who walks away so easily

I'm here to stay and make the difference that I can make

Our differences they do a lot to teach us how to use

The tools and gifts we got, yeah, we got a lot at stake

And in the end, you're still my friend at least we did intend

For us to work we didn't break, we didn't burn

We had to learn how to bend without the world caving in

I had to learn what I've got, and what I'm not, and who I am

I won't give up on us

Even if the skies get rough

I'm giving you all my love

I'm still looking up, still looking up.

Well, I won't give up on us

God knows I'm tough enough

We've got a lot to learn

God knows we're worth it

I won't give up on us

Even if the skies get rough

I'm giving you all my love

I'm still looking up."

In the middle of th song me and brothers sat down just to listen. Tori's voice was so soothing, she got every note right, every pitch and her vocie? Her voice sounded angelic. I had my head against the wall with my eyes closed, like I just wanted to listen and not miss a single second. My brother's had the same expression.

"She fell asleep," Bill whispered.

I wouldn't be surprised, I would have fallen asleep. And even without the guitar in the song, I felt like I could just hear it, like Tori's voice made it almost seem like the instrument was there.

We heard scrambling and figured that Bill and Tori were coming out. The three of us quickly got up and just made it to Shawn's room as they walked out. We opened the door a crack so we could see them.

"Nice job Tori," Bill said putting his hands on her shoulders.

"Thanks dad."

I remember when Suzie sang, her vocie was really good. I have to acknowledge a nine year old girl with a really good voice, but when she said Tori was better. I didn't really see how? Or I just thought Suzie meant good, but not this good.

I turned around facing all of my brothers, "Did you guys...."

"Now I wanna take a nap," Shawn said.

"That was really good," Blake added.

Wow Blake just complemented her. If I told Tori she'd never believe me.

"Boys are you still up there?" Mom asked from the stairs.

"Yeah we're going," Blake said back.

"Let's just go have dinner," I said.

We all walked downstairs and to the dining room. Tori and Bill were already seated and mom was bringing the food. She placed it in the middle of the table and looked over at Suzie's chair.

"Is she ok?" She asked Bill.

"Yeah she fell asleep," Bill answered her.

"Really? This early?" Mom asked sitting down by Bill.

"Tori sang her a nice lullaby," Bill replied.

Tori looked down at her food.

"You sing?" Mom asked.

Yes mom she does. She sings really well, I mentally thought.

"No I don't sing. It was just a small song," Tori replied.

"Bull crap," I muttered. Everyone heard me but I just ate my food.

We had a silent dinner. It looks like Suzie was always the one making us loud and talk. Since she wasn't here no one really said anything.

That night when I went to sleep, all I could think of was that song. I replayed Tori's voice in my head and drifted off into sleep.

Ok well I got the idea Astraphobia from my little brother. He has Astraphobia so I thought it would interesting to put it into the book. So please no mean comments on the phobia because I know it looks silly but he's scared to death by them.

So what did you guys think? Tori's voice is really good. Please comment on what you all think and please vote, thanks you guys.
