《3 Stepbrothers》Suzie's Philosophy

Cole's POV
We were all in the living room, watching tv as we waited for mom to finish making dinner. It was like seven fifteen when Tori came back. She had a plastic bag in her hand and in it was....mouthwash? Mother F, what did she do.
"Hey Tori what movie did you end up seeing?" Dad asked from the couch.
"Elemental," she walked to the bathroom and we heard her gurgle the mouthwash. What the hell? I thought.
She came back and sat on the couch beside Suzie.
"What?" She asked as we stared at her, "The popcorn was gross."
Yeah I'm sure it was the popcorn. Whatever she did to Trent had to be something. But she had a grin as we watched tv.
"Dinner's ready," mom called.
We all walked in to the dining table and Bill kissed mom's cheek muttering a thank you.
We all sat around and started to eat the nice dinner of chicken with corn and mashed potatoes. As I was eating me and my brother's watched Tori. She had the biggest smile ever.
"Oh my god!" Suzie suddenly yelled.
We all stared at her.
"What?" Tori asked.
"I have a question," Suzie said seriously, putting her fork down and looking at all of us, "So money is just paper, right? And paper is just tree thats been processed. So when people say 'money doesn't grow on trees,' wouldn't the tree be the money?"
We all stared at her. How the-where did she-I mean she's like-WHAT!? This is what was going through my mind.
My mouth dropped, "And you came up with that?"
"Geez girl what's your freaking IQ?" Blake asked.
"Higher than yours," Shawn muttered.
Me, Shawn, and Tori laughed. Bill tried not to laugh but mom did. She was used to Shawn's jokes. Blake hit Shawn's arm which only made Shawn laugh harder.
"No but guys I'm serious," Suzie continued, "Like think about it. I'm right aren't I?"
Where did this girl get that question out of? What do kids watch these days, I mean seriously.
"Well I mean....like its more of a cotton than anything," Bill said.
"So cotton is money?" Suzie shot back.
"There is no win for this," Tori muttered.
The rest of dinner we just talked about that. Every time we would say something, Suzie would just shoot something equally as correct as the last.
"I'm just gonna head upstairs," Tori said after we all finished. She walked up the stairs and went to her bedroom.
"Boys," mom said, "Why don't you guys do a movie night?"
"Yeah sure come on guys," I said.
"I meant you ask Tori if she wants to see a movie with you three. Unless Suzie also wants to?" Mom said.
Suzie shrugged, "I'll just go watch tv. I like movies but I mean they're gonna pick something not for me, for sure."

"Sue I'll go watch tv with you," Bill said.
"Ok daddy."
"Boys go on, go and ask Tori." Mom said.
"Fine, fine, yeesh," Shawn said.
The three of us got up and headed to Tori's room. Blake didn't even bother to knock he just walked in.
"Ok so here's the deal," Blake said.
Tori was on her back, her head hanging at the end of the bed. She had her phone in her hands and was looking at the screen with a devious smile. She flipped over to face us.
"What does sir Blake and his troop need?" She asked.
God I hated it when she called us that. One, its annoying as shit. Two why does Blake get to be sir. Why not sir Cole and his troop. And three its annoying as shit.
"Mom wants to have a movie night and she told us to ask if you wanted to," I said really fast, "Ok no? Then we're all good, see ya."
The three of us started leaving but she stopped us.
"Wait!" She said.
We all groaned.
"I want to do it," she said.
"What?" Me and my brothers said.
"Yeah sure. Why not? Or is it going to kill you," she said with a smirk.
"Fine but first you tell us what you did to Trent," Shawn said.
"No she tells us what she did to Trent then she DOESN'T watch the movie," Blake said.
Tori rolled her eyes, "You wanna see what I did? Come here."
We walked behind her and looked over her shoulder to see the picture on her phone. It was Trent, handcuffed to his bed?!
"What the fuck did you do?!" Blake boomed.
"Tori your a freaking psycho!" I yelled.
Shawn chuckled, "I think he looks kinda funny."
Tori laughed, "Thank you Shawn."
"Don't push it Tori," Shawn replied.
She rolled her eyes, "I'll send it to you guys."
"Why would we want it?" Blake asked.
She shrugged, "If you ever get mad at Trent it might amuse you seeing him this way."
"So he tried to get you bed?" I asked a staring at the pic.
"Yes and I cuffed him. It's not hard when you have a dad as a cop. So are we going to watch a movie or what?" She got up and headed out the door.
I have to admit, Tori is really smart. I would never have thought of handcuffs. I guess being smart runs in the family, considering her sister is a philosopher in training. When she was out of ear shot Blake turned to us.
"That girl is driving me crazy, I can't take it anymore I want to strangle that bitch!" He whisper yelled.
"It was funny though," I admitted.
"Good I'm not the only one," Shawn sighed in relief.

"Come on Blake just admit it was funny and a smart move," I added.
Blake cracked a smile, "It was funny. I can't wait to see what Trent has to say about it."
I laughed, "Oh it'll be something alright."
My phone ringed along with Blake and Shawn's. It was text and attached was the picture of Trent.
"Tori's right. I will amuse myself with this," Shawn said.
"What are you going to do, draw a mustache on him?" I asked with a chuckle.
"I'm already doing that bro," Shawn replied. Me and Blake looked over his shoulder and down at the screen. Yup he sure was. Trent now had a purple mustache and a red nose.
The three of us laughed and Tori came into the hall, "You coming?"
We all walked downstairs to the basement and into the game room. We all took a bean bag and sat around the screen, Blake turned on the projector. Mom came down and looked over at Tori with a questionable look.
"Suzie likes to watch the history channel." Mom said it more like a statement than a question.
"Oh yeah she likes to watch the Morgan Freeman Show," Tori said with a laugh.
"Yeah she's doing that now. Doesn't she prefer spongebob or something?" Mom asked.
"Not since she learned he lives in Bikini Bottom," Tori replied.
"Strange child," Shawn muttered.
"Shawn." Mom snapped.
"No it's fine, Suzie is weird like that." Tori said.
"Ok so what movie?" I asked.
"Oooh how about-" Shawn started.
"Tori you get to pick," mom said.
"But mom," Blake started then stopped as mom gave him 'the look.'
"I honestly don't care what we watch," Tori said awkwardly.
Mom pointed over at her section of movies and we all groaned. Those were cheesy chick flicks and romances, or dramatic movies where the characters are just stupid.
Tori walked over and looked at the movies.
"Just pick one and the guys will start it up, right guys?" Mom looked at the three of us and we all grumbled a yes, "Ok I'm gonna go watch some tv with Suzie and Bill."
"Have fun," Shawn said making his voice pitchy.
Mom left upstairs and we all looked at Tori.
"These movies suck," Tori said, "Please tell me you have better movies than these. I hate these cheesy romances and dramatic movies. I mean, 'Clarence oh Clarence I can't believe you cheated on me!'"
Tori said dramatically. We all chuckled.
Then Shawn joined in, "'I'm sorry Jessica, but...I loved her.'"
We all laughed.
"'Clarence but you once told me you loved me, what happened Clarence, what happened?'" Tori pretended a sob.
"'Julie came around Jessica, and now I love her,'" Shawn replied.
"'Please Clarence don't leave me,'" Tori said placing her hand on her forehead.
"'Oh alright Jessica, now lets go on a honeymoon,'" Shawn said.
"'That sounds heavenly Clarence.' Thank you, thank you," Tori said as she got up and bowed.
We all laughed and Shawn did a bow in his bean bag.
"Ok so do you guys have any other movies?" Tori asked.
"Yeah over there," Blake said pointing at our section of movies.
Tori walked over and opened one of the boxes, "Seen it. Watched it. Sucked. Really good plot but to much romance."
She muttered comments like that as she passed each movie. What surprised me was that she had already seen these movies. Mom never bought us movies like this with violence and horror, so me and my brothers had to go and buy them.
"Have you guys seen, or heard of 'Gladiator?'" Tori asked after a while.
"Ummm...I don't think so," I said.
"Mind if I go and get it?" She asked.
We just shrugged and she quickly ran upstairs to her room.
"Think it'll be good?" Shawn asked.
"Well 'Gladiator' makes it sound like there's gonna be blood, right?" I said with smirk.
"I think I've seen it but I don't remember," Blake said.
Tori came back a couple minutes later and put the movie in. It was old and the graphics weren't the best , but it was a really good movie. When it ended we stared at the screen for a minute.
"That's a really good, yet sad ending," I said.
Tori nodded, "That's the only thing I hate about this movie, but I think it makes sense for that to happen."
"Yeah I guess," Blake muttered.
"Well at least he's with his son and wife," Shawn said.
"That was a good movie though," I said getting up and stretching.
"I'm going to bed," Blake added before getting up and leaving.
"Yeah me too," I said.
Shawn shook his head, "Why am I always the last one? Even in birth." He muttered then got up as well.
Me and him walked upstairs and into our separate rooms, Suzie was already asleep and mom and Bill were watching tv downstairs. I got into my usual white shirt and basketball shorts and then crawled under my bed. As I drifted to sleep I thought of something: so is the tree money?

Needletongue, Carrotcake
The world isn't fair. If anything, the inherent injustice of the world is what separates it from the fiction we so adore. Luis Freighthold knew this all too well, and that was why it took a bit longer than it should have to realise when he suddenly had everything he could ever have wanted. Raised in a working-class single-father home, Luis had no other escape than fiction. Specifically, vampire stories of varying quality and genre. There was something appealing about the ability to fly, turn into shadows and become smoke. Danger. An unfamiliarity with the social world that rejected him so. Was it so wrong for him to hope for a different life? Maybe, maybe not. Either way, now he had it—a lust for blood and abilities beyond the understanding of civil man. Could you really say that he had anything left to complain about? A vampire story following an unconventional vampire boy forced to accept that maybe becoming a vampire doesn't magically solve all your problems. As a matter of fact, it might just make a whole bunch of them even worse. Regardless, Luis is prepared to try everything to live up to the vampire books he had previously gorged on. What did it matter that his vampire form had no teeth, replaced instead by a long, needle-tipped tongue? He was still a vampire, wasn't he? Chapters are around 10 A4 pages long, releasing once a week on Mondays, 01:00 CET.
