"Come on Jay!! Throw the ball already!" Kai yelled. Jay tossed the ball and Kai jumped up and caught it. The ninja were passing the ball off to one another.
"Hey, Jade! You sure you don't wanna play?" Cole asked politely as he threw the ball at Zane.
"Yeah. I just wanna watch." I answered and gently scratched the top of Astra's head as she purred.
"Alright, but you're missing out on a lot of fun, buddy!" Jay nodded towards me as he caught the ball. I watched them throw the ball around for about 30 more minutes, till I got bored. I started thinking about the ninja and their powers. If Lloyd has an elemental power...does this mean I could too?
I walked inside and quietly crept into the training room.
"Maybe if I do some training, I can unlock my elemental power!" I giggled to myself. I walked up to a dummy and lightly punched it. I continued to punch it, and with every hit, my punch became harder. Finally I punched it so hard it fell back.
"HAHA!!-*whap!!*"
The dummy came flying back and smacked me into the floor. I groaned in pain and rubbed my now throbbing head. I jumped back up and kicked the dummy, and continued to attack it. It's 'X'ed out face mocking me every time I hit. I felt anger rise and boil in my bloodstream. I kicked the dummy across the room, it hit the wall hard with a bang, but soon came flying back. I screamed as I ducked down, trying to avoid getting hit, in which I did succeed, but as I looked up, I saw the training room door open and the dummy smacked Jay in his face, causing him to fall onto his back.

Kai and Cole bursted out laughing as Zane knelt down to make sure Jay wasn't unconscious.
"Jade??" Lloyd queried. (Fancy word for asked) "What are you doing in here?"
"I-I...uh...erm.." my mind was blank. I was too embarrassed to tell him that I wanted to see if I had powers.
"Well?" He placed his hands on his hips as he looked down at me. I couldn't bare to look up at him. I was too scared to see the look on his face. I ran out the room quickly, hearing the ninja call out for me. I didn't stop, and I ran into my room, and slammed the door shut. I ran into my little reading nook, and closed the small door, isolating myself from everyone and thing.
As I was reading a Marvel comic book, there was a soft knock at my little door to my nook. I got up from my bean bag, and opened the door to see my brother on his one knee, smiling.
"What's going on, Jaddie?" Jaddie was Lloyds little nickname for me. I shrugged and sat back down in my bean bag, opened my comic, and pretended to read. Lloyd crawled in, and sat down next to me. "Come on buddy. Tell me what's up."
"I don't know..." I lied.
"Really now?"
" *sighs* I just wanted to find out if I had a power."
"Huh?"
"You and the other ninja have these amazing elemental powers, and I thought that..maybe if I did some training, I could see if I had some sort of power."
"Oh, Jade. You remind me of myself sometimes, you know that right?" Lloyd huffed and pulled me into his lap. "Do you think the team and I got our powers straight away? We had to do a lot of training. It's not like we got our powers over night."

"When will I get mine?"
"Im not sure, it could happen later when you're older or may-" Lloyd was cut off when a loud bang rang through the monistary. I screamed, and burried my face in Lloyds chest.
"COLE!!! STOP DROPPING THE PANS!!" Kai yelled from the kitchen. Lloyd snickered a bit, but stopped when he looked down at me.
"J-Jade...what?..how?.."
"Huh? Why are you looking at me weir-AAAAAHHHHH!!!!!" I looked at my hands and they were all black with a tint of purple! My entire body was as dark as the midnight sky. I screamed again, and backed up a little too far I guess, because I smacked the back of my head on the wall. My body turned back to normal.
"What happened to me??!" I cried as I starred at lloyd, hoping to get an answer.
"Jade...you got your power!!" Lloyd cheered as he hugged me. "I guess your the master of shadows now."
"Does this mean I get to be a ninja??!" I giggled with wonder.
"Well...you can do some training with us, but you're going to have to wait to be able to fight in a battle, okay?" Lloyd messed up my hair, making me giggle.
"Okay! Let's go tell Mommy!!" I squealed as I dragged Lloyd out of my room.
Let's just say, Mommy was really surprised when she saw me turn into a shadow. Here face was like this:
