《Secrets in the Moonlight (Lloyd Garmadon x reader)》Fifteen

Water spirralled around me, leaving bubbles as I was pulled down and to the side with a strong current. I shut my eyes as I turned with the water, then I met the end of the tunnel. I was shot out, flying through one of the waterfalls we had to walk through earlier. I let out a scream, hearing Lloyd do the same. I barely saw him land among the Ninja before I slammed into some of the people surrounding them, assumingly Sons of Garmadon members. I let out a groan, lifting myself off of one of the men I had knocked over.
"(y/n)!" Nya let out a gasp, moving forward and helping me up. She pulled me close to the Ninja, and I stumbled with her. My knee screamed in pain, as well as my shoulder. I let out a cough, spraying water onto my fingertips. My throat was sore as well.
"You guys, Rumi is the Quiet One." Lloyd cried out, still in Jay's hold. I glanced around as the Sons of Garmadon closed in on us.
"We kind of got that much." Kai admitted as he scanned his eyes around us, brow furrowed.
Suddenly, at the edge of the water, a loud growl came. The ground shook as a large creature dragged itself out of the water. Harumi turned to the noise, letting out a scream when she saw what we had set our eyes on. A claw snapped as the large crab opened and closed his jaws.
"I swear to God, Lloyd, I should've given up after falling off the waterfall." I hissed out. I didn't wait for his answer as I began to run, Nya still helping me along.
"You fell off a what?" She asked, barely breaking a sweat as I stumbled with her.
"It's a long, kind of awful, story." I replied, hearing the water splash as the creature dove back in. I skid to a stop, pulling Nya with me. At my other side was Lloyd as the Sons of Garmadon and Ninja all stopped too.
"What is that?" Killow cried out from behind us. I glanced to the other side of Lloyd, finding Harumi standing there. Her gaze was cold, calculating as she tried to follow the creature in the water.
"It's back." Lloyd muttered, shaking his head. Drops flung from his hair, scattering around with the movement.
"Yeah. This is really the shittiest day of my life." I grumbled, holding my hands out in front of me. Only one cuff glimmered back at me now in the setting sun.
"Man, even the kiss?" Lloyd questioned, feigning hurt as he moved into a fighting stance. I hummed.
"Well, I guess not that." I answered, mustering the best smile I could at the recollection of our quick first kiss.
"You guess?" Lloyd scoffed, though he returned my smile, it fell into a sad one, much like mine did.
"Kiss? What kiss? You kissed?" Nya asked quickly as she held her staff across her body in front of her.
"Wait! When did you kiss?" Jay yelled out, likely having heard Nya as he stood beside her. Neither question was answered, though, as water splashed up around us and the large crab scuttled out onto the shore.
Water pooled on the ground as everyone scattered and ran. I found myself being tugged to one side by Nya while Lloyd dove to the other with Jay. Kai was quick to follow us, covering Nya and me when one of the rocks exploded nearby. I wasn't sure which direction Cole ran in, but I hoped baby Wu was okay. More rocks broke across from us on this small island, and Kai and Nya led me behind a rock before giving me a stern look.

"(y/n), stay here. We'll deal with this." Kai told me. I wanted to object, say I could help, but they were already gone with their weapons drawn to face the crab. Sons of Garmadon members ran or cowered as the beast screamed. I watched with horror as Nya was picked up by the crab, though Zane and Kai were quick to help her. The ninja overtook the battle, and those with masks (sans Harumi) joined. It seemed only those with powers were able to hold their own in this fight. Others, like Ultra Violet, easily got tossed to the side.
Colors seemed to blur as the fight continued, and I turned my eyes to take in those on the sidelines. Here is where I noticed Harumi's eyes on me, and her lips turned up in a smirk. Ultra Violet said something to her, something about leaving.
"Not without the masks. Not without (y/n)." Her cry made me freeze. Within the hour she had confessed to killing our parents, Hutchins, and had intended to do the same for me. What could she want with me now?
When she whistled, and Mr. E and Killow both turned to her call, I broke from the rock I had taken cover behind. I had wanted to get to one of the Ninja, but I didn't make it far before I was picked up, floating in the air. I went scrambling, turning in the air as I moved. I tried to catch a hold on the rock, but my palms only slid over it. I was dragged towards the boat, with me spilling curses along the way as I spun in the air, feeling sick from the motion.
"Hey, they're getting away." I heard Jay yell, and as I tipped in the air to face them, I could see the crab frozen to water, then I was dropped onto the deck. My chin clashed into the wood, making me bite my tongue. A metallic taste filled my mouth as someone stepped into my view. Looking up, it was Harumi, who I could only scowl at.
"I thought you wanted me dead." I growled as I was hefted up again by my collar. I didn't fight as my hands were bound in front of me.
"Trust me, my feelings haven't changed. You just have your uses, (y/n). Like, for starters, luring the Green Ninja." She smiled, drawing a finger up the side of my face, before patting my cheek. I shook my head.
"Lloyd wouldn't be stupid enough to-" I was cut off by the man himself landing on the deck beside me, and Killow was quick to grab him before he could do anything to help.
"You were saying?" Harumi murmured with a smile, then her eyes turned to her crew. "Take them sleeping quarters and don't let them out of your sight." Harumi commanded as someone bound Lloyd's hands to match mine. Lloyd and I were pushed forward, then we trudged in silence to the place we needed to go.
"The spider's in the house, sleep, sleep," Harumi sang as she led us up the stairs of a tower. She had changed into an all black outfit, and now her hair was out of its bun, falling down her back in a white wave. Red paint was around her eyes and across the top half of her face. "The spider bit the mouse..." Harumi cut off her singing, but continued to hum the familiar tune. Two men were at my side, holding onto my arms as we walked. Behind me was Lloyd and two more Sons of Garmadon members, then Killow in the back.

"So this is your true face , without the mask. No wonder you covered it." Lloyd spoke up, sounding pissed. I couldn't blame him. We were both chained and being led towards where Harumi planned to resurrect his evil dad. Not to mention this whole shit trip we had been on through Primeval. I'd be peeved too. In fact, I was peeved.
"Bite your tongue, Green Ninja." Harumi yelled, quickly turning to face the both of us. "The fight is all but over." She said, her voice calmer as she smiled.
"Where are you taking us?" I questioned, which only made her smile widen as her eyes flickered to me.
"(y/n), you don't recognize the place?" Harumi asked instead with the tilt of her head. "Trapped in the Palace of Secrets all my life, it gave me time to make a few... alteractions you could say." Harumi turned and began walking again. We were shoved to contine with her. "Yes, I destroyed the Palace, but I was careful not to damage the Temple of Resurrection." I glanced around at her comment. I remembered her asking and having a temple designed for her birthday as an add on to the palace, though at the time she forgot to mention it was for raising the dead.
Finally, we reached the top of the stairs, seeing a large contraption with two cages on the edge. Currently, both were empty. To the side was a glass container with tubes and a machine attached. Around the area, Sons of Garmadon members were bustling around, still finishing some of their add-ons for the temple.
"The Ninja have survived, Quiet One." Ultra Violet announced as she came around to stand in front of us. "They are in the city." She elaborated, then went quiet. Around us, I watched as a camera was set up, and one of the cages were brought down.
"What was that you said about the fight being over?" Lloyd questioned, a frown on his lips as he stood beside me.
"Let them come. If anyone tries to stop me, I always have my insurance policy." Harumi let a proud smile pull at her lips as she pointed to the cage set up behind her. There, one of her followers was shoving an older woman into one of the cages.
"Mom!" Lloyd cried, pushing against the hold of the men at his sides. Seeing this now only made me dislike Harumi more. She had destroyed my family, now she was tearing into the fabric of Lloyd's.
"Lloyd?" The woman replied, gripping at the metal bars. Her cage was lifted into the air and the other was lowered. "She's crazy. She wants to bring back your father." I hummed and nodded.
"Yeah, we gathered." My comment earned me a scowl as Harumi walked in front of me.
"I've been so looking forward to this... family reunion." Harumi said, staring up at Lloyd's mom.
"Let them go, Harumi. Any issues you've had with your life in the Palace amount with me now. I'm the last of your family left." Harumi's glare was quick to turn to me.
"We're not family. We never have been." She hissed out, making my chest ache at her words, despite already knowing she felt this way now. The repetetive saying made it more real, made it stick. I clenched my jaw, looking down at the ground, but I found a hand pushing my face back up to look at her. "It hurts, doesn't it? There's nothing more powerful than a blow to the heart, and you, (y/n), are just too easy of a target to know any better." She whispered before letting me go and facing Lloyd again.
"We found her after she tracked down young Wu. Helpful of her." Harumi looked to Lloyd's mom again, keeping the smile on her face. Lloyd's mom didn't answer, her frown only deepened as her eyes dropped away from her son.
"Prepare the ceremony. We begin at nightfall." Harumi instructed the Sons of Garmadon members.
"I won't let you get away with this." Lloyd growled out as he turned in the men's hold to look at Harumi. Harumi ignored him, only continued to leave us. Ultra Violet laughed as she faced us.
"Or what? You'll cry?" Ultra Violet mock pouted and made a crying face at us.
"Could you be more annoying?" I snapped as I turned my hands in the cuffs. For a moment there was silence as everyone stopped working around us to look in my direction. It didn't take long for Ultra Violet to come into my field of vision, her glare was sharp as she held the point of her sai in my direction.
"You're lucky the Quiet One needs you alive, or I wouldn't hesitate to dispose of you." I shook my head at the threat.
"A shame, really." I muttered back, only making her frown deepen as she clenched her fists.
"Listen, you little shit-"
"Enough! If the Quiet One returns and we haven't set up, then she'll have all our heads." Killow yelled, seeming angry with both of us. Just like that, the workers were moving around again, and Lloyd was being led to the other cage. My eyes flickered to the glass container as Ultra Violet walked away, grumbling under her breath. I couldn't tell what it was for, but it didn't look good. In the light of the setting sun, I hoped it wasn't meant of me.
I stood beside the pedetstal as Harumi set down the bowl of hair she collected from Lloyd and his mom. She had also explained the ultimatum she would offer if the Ninja came to stop her. I bit my lip, eyes going between Lloyd and his mom. None of this looked good, and I wasn't sure how we'd all make it out of this one.
"You know, the funny thing about the moon is that many associate it with healing." Harumi started, staring at me. My eyes dropped back to her, and I shook my head as she paced around me.
"Why are you telling me this?" Harumi let out a scoff at my question.
"Are you still in denial? Really?" She hissed out, annoyance lacing through her tone. I frowned at her.
"Well, you were really vague the last time we talked like this, and trying to kill me at the time, so sorry if I didn't get the full picture." I retorted, scowling at her. Harumi sighed, shaking her head.
"Then let me get this perfectly clear. Your mother, she was the elemental master of lunar magic. She was one of the most powerful anyone had ever seen." I swallowed, only staring at her now. I didn't want to believe that she would know more about my mom than I ever did.
"That can't be true. The masters of lunar and solar magic both died out a long time ago." Lloyd's mom called from her place and Harumi rolled her eyes. She reached up, turning my face to his mom.
"Well, then please explain dear (y/n). You haven't known me to be that wrong yet, have you?" Harumi let go of my face. "Besides, your son has seen it. Her powers just were never apparent because she didn't know about them, they were dormant. And the bracelets. They were from her mother, but they dampened her powers to protect her. Sure, there was still a little hint here and there, the changing of gravity to catch a doll. Creating light in the dark when she was scared as a kid." My head seemed to be spinning with the new information as I tried to figure out when she would have figured all of this out to begin with.
"Then one bracelet got broken, and they got more apparent. Changing gravity to save a life," she gestured to Lloyd, "the deflecting of waterways. And I could go on. All of it adds up to something you wouldn't notice unless you were observing. And good for me that I was." Harumi stepped from me. "And maybe it was luck that you came out alive, though I didn't intend it. Because now I can use your powers to help me." I pulled at the chains, glaring at her.
"Like hell, I'll help you." I growled out, angry now about her stripping down so much I hadn't even noticed myself, then her accusation on making me help her.
"You don't have a choice." Harumi smiled at me, then I felt two people come to each side of me and lift me up. They turned to the glass contraption I had been eyeing earlier, hoping it wasn't for me, though now I could clearly tell it was.
I was thrown into the glass container, and I barely had time to react when the handcuffs were removed before the glass door was closed and I was trapped. I pressed my hands to the glass, frowning.
"What the hell? Let me out!" I screamed, hitting the glass. All it did was bounce my hand back to me. Flames were lit on the pedestal as Lloyd let out his own shouts of protest. Outside of the glass, one of the Sons of Garmadon members fiddled with the screen connected to my container. As he did, Ultra Violet, Killow, and Mr. E all approached Harumi with the masks. For a moment they talked, but it was nothing I could hear inside the glass, they were too quiet.
"I get it. I hurt you. And you want to hurt me, but this isn't the way." Lloyd told her. "You don't have to do this. We will stop you." He grabbed at the bars of his cage, a determined expression taking over his features. The others laughed around us. Somewhere in there, Ultra Violet mocked Lloyd.
"You put too much faith in your friends, Lloyd." Harumi said with a frown.
"And you put too little." Lloyd's mom countered with the shake of her head.
"Place the masks in position. Start the machine." Harumi instructed, turning to her workers. They obeyed, and the man at the screen finally pressed a button as Harumi began to chant.
At first, I felt nothing, only listening to Harumi's words as she raised her hands towards the sky. Then, I felt a pain begin to pull down in my abdomen, clenching there, then it moved up through my torso and down my arms. Tears stung in my eyes as I grit my teeth.
"(y/n)!" Lloyd called out, panic pulling in his voice. I looked up at him, only to watch as white mist began to pool out, wrapping around me in this glass tube. In my reflection, I could faintly see how my tears were glowing silver, then the white covered my reflection in broken strands.
Harumi continued to chant, her voice like a pulse for a ticking time bomb. While having lived my life being unaware of these powers, already I could feel and understand the toll this had on me and my body. White began to lace itself through my rising hair strands, and even in the simple movement to reach up and touch it, I could feel my coming exhaustion. The white swirled around my fingers, rising up through a tube at the top of the glass.
"(y/n)!" Lloyd called again. "Harumi, stop this!" Lloyd begged. Harumi only laughed, and I could hear the shaking of metal. I waved my hand through the air, giving me a temporary break in the white. The last metal cuff on my wrist was beginning to grow hot.
"Lloyd!" My throat hurt as I called to him, but I just wanted him to know I was okay. My voice sounded small to me, barely audible, but Lloyd still turned his head to me, then he disappeared behind my powers again. I felt my knees give out, then I was on the cold metal.
"I call upon thee, lord of many names. Lord of Destruction! King of Shadows... Lord Garmadon!" Harumi cried out. "Garmadon!"
"Who... calls me?" A deep, gravelly voice replied. It struck more fear into me as I tried to wave through the white again, but it proved fruitless now. I couldn't see a thing.
"Leave my father alone!" Lloyd shouted, but I knew he would go ignored. There was no going back from this now. For a moment, there was no more talking, until-
"The ninja." Harumi cried, seeming surprised. Relief filled me, though I knew this was far from over. And what if... what if they still couldn't stop Harumi in time?
"What the heck is in that thing?" I heard Jay yell, though the reply to him, if any, was quiet.
"Wait! There's a trap." Lloyd told them, and the sudden reminder was enough to make my fear come make its home again. I heard Harumi's command to start the wheel, then she kept going with her ritual.
I felt a strong tug in my chest, pulling toward Lloyd, though I couldn't see him. I heard the other ninjas' panic as they battled- something about Lloyd being stuck under water. The mist wavered, broke enough for me to see clearly Lloyd's cage was down. Harumi was only smiling, arms raised up as the other ninja fought. I could see the white threads coming from my glass cage, feeding the growing portal. I felt the tug again, this time it hurting as the white pulsed around me.
"Is that (y/n)?" One of the Ninjas questioned, though it was another that wouldn't be answered now. I keeled over in the container, unable to do more than grit my teeth as a ringing came to my ears, then then the cuff around my wrist shattered. The metal blew across the container, some hitting the glass. Other pieces flew back and hit me, scratching into my skin and tasting my blood. New tears welled in my eyes as the scattered metal was then picked up by the mist, traveling up.
I screamed, covering my ears as the ringing grew. I saw Lloyd's cage rise up as his mother's went down, but that didn't stop the pain that ripped up my chest. The white glow grew brighter and I clenched my eyes shut. I couldn't even hear anything else as I gasped for another breath. My chest felt like it was pushing in, making me breathless as the white whirled around me, growing closer. Then I began to scream.
