《Secrets in the Moonlight (Lloyd Garmadon x reader)》Eleven

Lloyd was right. Even with the hoodie on, I could feel the chill as wind blew passed us. Maybe I should ask Nya for some pants to borrow, some of a looser fabric maybe, because the capris weren't cutting it right now. I made a point to quicken my pace as Lloyd opened the door for control, letting me in first, then he slipped in after me. Everyone but Cole was here.
Nya smiled at me when she saw me, then her eyes dropped to the hoodie. She smirked, raising a brow at me and I huffed, shaking my head at her. Lloyd didn't appear to notice as I stuck close to his side.
"Is everything okay?" Lloyd asked, dragging his eyes over everyone else.
"There's been a development." Pixal informed us. "I have been attempting to repair the damage to his system when I stumbled on something." A message of garbled speech played. I frowned at the sound, not needing the translation to know it was bad news.
"What's that?" Lloyd questioned as he stepped closer to Zane and his monitor. .
"A digital communication between Mr. E and The Quiet One." Oh. So the other dude was named Mr. E? I missed that somewhere. "Zane intercepted and recorded the call in his last moments of consciousness. It was encrypted, but I managed to decipher the message." Pixal continued. I walked closer too, hopeful for something that could help us crack who The Quiet One was.
Pixal replayed the message, then it distorted and slowed as she played the decoded version. "The trap has been set." The message said. I felt my stomach drop, my hope dying as quick as it came.
"Trap? What trap?" Jay questioned as he looked to all of us.
"Huh. Classic bad guy stuff." Kai muttered under his breath with a shake of his head. "It must be in their DNA." Kai added with a shrug.
"But wait a minute. If Mr. E sent a message, maybe we can locate The Quiet One's whereabouts." Nya suggested and I nodded. "Pixal, can you triangulate the point of origin?" Nya asked her.
"I've already started the trace program." Pixal replied, and the screen switched to show a map of Ninjago. Different lines appeared on it, jumping from place to place, probably her trying to find The Quiet One's signal.
"That's great, Pixal. How long will it take?" Lloyd questioned.
"I don't know." Pixal answered honestly. "The storm is interfering with my trace program. If we descended to a lower altitude, it might help." Pixal explained.
"The storm is hiding us. If we drop below the clouds, won't the Sons of Garmadon spot us?" Harumi spoke up, looking to Lloyd.
"But wouldn't finding The Quiet One help us? Maybe we can avoid the trap that way." I argued, though I knew both sides were viable concerns. Harumi frowned at me, but said nothing.
"Harumi is right." Lloyd decided after a moment. "We're in pretty bad shape at the moment. We have to stay in the storm. Can't risk being spotted. Once the storm clears, though, or we get out of it, we'll find The Quiet One. Bring an end to it before more people can get hurt." Lloyd looked down, giving me a soft smile, and I nodded. He's been doing things like this longer than I have, and if he was sure, I'd support his decision.
"So where do we go?" Jay asked. I wasn't sure, and I didn't think anyone else knew either until Cole burst into the room.

"We go there!" He exclaimed with an excited smile as he opened a map.
"What is that?" I questioned, tilting my head.
"All this time it was with the baby." Cole said as he looked down at the cloth. "The map to the last Oni mask." Cole breathed out, still smiling.
When I finished with my dinner plate, I pushed it aside so I could get a better look at the map. Kai grabbed my plate, placing it under his dirty dish. I murmured a thanks while I stared at the cloth in front of us. Lloyd shifted in his seat beside me, then the baby was passed to me so Lloyd could finish eating. I held the baby against me, standing so I could get a better look at the map. I could swear I had seen this exact one before.
"I don't get it. Why was the baby wrapped in a map?" Kai asked, looking to all of us. Jay sat beside him, stabbing down on his place, chasing the meatball on his plate as the ship swayed side to side.
"I don't know. Maybe they didn't have any diapers either." Cole suggested as he gestured to the baby I had resting on my hip. His soft, light blonde hair glinted in the light. I missed the glances Lloyd kept throwing my way as he ate his food.
"This looks like the central part of Ninjago. I didn't get to leave the Palace so I studied the maps of it instead." I pointed to part of the map as I explained. The baby cooed, almost as if in agreement as he turned his eyes to me. I smiled at him, suddenly distracted as his fists found themselves scrunched into the green hoodie I wore. I bounced him slightly on my hip, and the pants Nya upgraded me to swayed with me. They were loose on the bottom of the legs, so if it was needed to check my knee, we could.
"And the X. You think the third Oni mask could be hidden there?" Nya questioned, sounding skeptical about the idea.
"Primeval's eye." Lloyd gasped in realization. "My mother used to tell me about this place. It's an uncharted vast wilderness of death. Her friend, an archaeologist, I think his name was Dr. Yost, he had gone in to map the area. But he never returned." I frowned at Lloyd's statement, looking away from the baby.
"That sounds like a place to be avoided." I murmured. I didn't want to go to a place that people haven't returned from, let alone an unknown place no one had been known to survive in.
"Yeah... but it also sounds like the perfect place to hide something you don't want anyone to find." Nya admitted, biting her lip. She look conflicted about the whole situation. There was the job of getting the mask so the Sons of Garmadon couldn't- but on the other hand this was turning out to be a whole lot more dangerous than expected. Beside her, Jay let out a little laugh, seeming oblivious to our conversation.
"Come here, you little sucker!" Jay cried out as he stabbed his plate again, then the meatball rolled off the plate. Unfortunately for Kai, the next time Jay stabbed down, he missed again. I grimaced, covering the baby's eyes as Kai yelped in pain.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-" Jay began to quickly apologize, but Kai held out a hand, shaking his head.

"Don't! Just- don't." Kai shouted, tears welled in his eyes from new wound. Nya scoffed, but got up and went to one of the cabinets. From there, she pulled out an emergency first aid kit and walked back over to the table with it. As she worked on bandaging Kai's hand, I went back to playing with the baby. Harumi sat beside Cole, and chose now to trade light conversation as Nya helped Kai. Jay continued to profusely apologize in the background.
"I think the baby really likes you." I looked up, seeing Lloyd was now standing with me. A soft smile was on his face as I continued bouncing the baby. The baby giggled as he looked up at me, brown eyes squinted in joy.
"You jealous, Green Ninja?" I asked, raising a brow at him. Lloyd shrugged, leaning on the wall.
"Of you, or the baby?" He asked me. "Because, to be honest, Princess, it probably depends on who you like better." I huffed a laugh, then looked away, pretending to think about it.
"I don't know, Lloyd. I might like the baby better." Lloyd rolled his eyes, saying nothing else as he continued to watch me. It wasn't until the baby started to squirm in my hold and pouting that I looked back to Cole.
"Hey, Cole? What were you giving him earlier that he liked so much?" I asked as the baby pulled on the strings on the hoody.
"Oh, uh, tea, actually. Here." Cole got up just as Nya sat down again. He picked up a cup he had to the side and brought it over to me. Nya's eyes widened as she watched him.
"Tea? You can't feed a baby tea!" She yelled out. Despite her complaint, I handed the baby back to Cole and watched as he held the cup up for the baby to drink.
"Why not? He likes it. He won't drink anything else." Cole argued as the baby calmed in his arms, then immediately placed a small fist around one of Cole's fingers as he drank. I stared for a moment longer, not used to the sight of a baby drinking tea, but whatever. Not the weirdest thing of the week.
"Ha! Gotcha! Who's laughing now, meatball?" Jay cheered as he finally caught the meatball after the whole Kai fiasco. Kai only stared at him, wide-eyed. His pulled his now bandaged hand closer to him as Jay held the meatball in the air. Despite his victory, Jay didn't get to relish in eating his last meatball as the power flickered then turned off. The ship shook at the sudden power outage. I stumbled falling back, but Lloyd was quick to catch me.
"Huh. Guess the boat didn't agree with your preference either." Lloyd muttered, clearly a comment only for me to hear. I was too surprised to even respond.
"Apparently, the meatball is laughing." Kai groaned from the floor. Jay growled out at the comment, clearly not in the mood. I would've laughed if I wasn't so concerned with what was actually going on.
"What happened to the lights?" Harumi questioned as she lifted herself up from where she had fallen, but she got no answer. Lloyd righted me back onto my feet, then he was pulling me along.
"Get to the bridge. Quick!" Lloyd called behind us. I didn't even get to see the others follow as I stumbled after him, barely able to keep up. Lloyd tugged me into the room Zane was in, not phased as the others burst in behind us.
"Pixal? What's happening?" Lloyd asked, staring up at the dark screen. "Pixal! Come in!" Lloyd demanded, his voice pitched in panic when she didn't respond. The lights were still off, making it hard to see as one of the Ninja bumped into me.
"Must be a power failure." Kai told us, trying to seem nonchalant as he stood behind me. He must've been the one to bump into me.
"Or it's a trap." Jay cried out, a pout on his lips.
"Freaking out isn't gonna help us." Cole chastised as he held the baby closer to him.
"Jay might be right. The backup generators would have kicked in. This is something else." Nya countered, clearly worried. Suddenly, the screen turned on, and an alarm began to go off.
"Emergency. Emergency." Pixal alerted with the alarm.
"What happened, Pixal?" I spoke up, now really worried. The blue light that emitted from the screen made everything seem more eerie, hiding more in the shadows than I would have liked.
"I'm detecting a foreign presence has been introduced into my system." Pixal explained as her voice broke up.
"Foreign? What are you talking about?" Lloyd pressed further. It was here I realized Lloyd's hand was still in mine, and he squeezed my hand tightly.
"It appears we are being tracked. I have lost control of the ship." Pixal continued as an image of the ship came onscreen.
"How did something get in?" Jay complained. For a moment, none of us answered as we looked at each other. My eyes fell down to Zane, seeing a compartment of his chest was open.
"The trap. Something was planted on Zane." Kai noted as something sparked up from inside Zane. "They wanted us to take him in." Kai cried out, hitting a soft palm on the table Zane was laying on.
"Proximity alarm. Something is approaching the Bounty fast." Pixal interrupted.
"On-screen." Nya requested. Pixal was quick to comply, showing who I recognized to be Samurai X. I tilted my head, confused on why they would be coming for us.
"It is Samurai X." Pixal said.
"Oh. He must be her to help us out." Cole murmured with a shrug and an excited smile. He was holding the baby to face everyone else. The baby smiled with Cole, oblivious to the situation at hand.
"I'm afraid that is unlikely."Pixal replied, and I felt my stomach twist in panic. She clearly knew something we didn't. The screen glitched as Lloyd frowned.
"Why?" Lloyd asked.
"Because my system is overrun." Pixal told us as new alerts popped up on her screen. It glitched again, going gray, then back to normal. An alarm began to sound with one of the blinking lights.
"You're making no sense, Pixal. What are you talking about?" Kai cried out with the shake of his head before slamming his hand down again.
"This would be a good time to make a minor confession." Pixal's screen glitched again, then part of it zoomed on on Samurai X's face. "I am Samurai X." Pixal said. While her voice distorted, the message was still clear as her face was revealed under the helmet on screen. For a moment, it was silent. I hadn't known the Ninja or Pixal well enough to determine who Samurai X really was, but by the expressions on everyone's faces, apparently they hadn't known either.
Different shouts of confusion briefly rose from the Ninja, mostly underlining their disbelief until Jay ended it with a, "Totally called it!" In response, Cole scoffed, turning a slight glare to Jay.
"You did not!" Cole objected.
"Did too!" Jay argued while crossing his arms. The argument couldn't continue, however, when the sound of something flying whistled through air, then it hit the ship. The Bounty shook on impact, and I stumbled forward to the door to keep stable with Lloyd. Something whirred from the side of the ship, then made a sputtering sound as it died. The baby began to cry again and the ship shuddered. I glanced at the others, having some sort of understanding that Pixal had hit a thruster.
"We probably needed that, right?" Harumi questioned tentatively as she stared out the door.
"The mech is targeting the second aft thruster." Nya informed us as she looked to the screen again. "Lloyd, if we lose the second-" She turned to him, biting her lip as her brows furrowed. She didn't need to finish for me to know it would be bad, but Lloyd ended up completing the sentence anyway. He waved a hand as he turned.
"I know, I know." He faced a screen behind us, using one hand to tap on it. "We'll drop out of the sky like a brick." Lloyd looked to the rest of the group. "Nya, try to find the foreign agent. Jay, keep that lightning off our back. The rest of us, get ready to fight." Lloyd directed for each of us.
I was tugged with Lloyd as the Ninja, sans Nya, ran from the room. Outside now, there was a steady pour of rain. The drops hit the wood of the deck and splashed back up. The wind was stronger here too. Cole was the last of us out, having been putting the baby in the sleeping quarters, where it would be safe from this.
"Everyone be on alert." Lloyd said, as he let go of my hand and took out his sword. The others took out their own weapons, holding them out.
"(y/n)." I looked back at Cole, and saw he was holding out his hand. In it was Hutchins' staff, still retracted. I hadn't touched it much since first arriving at the Bounty. "I figured you'd need a weapon to actually fight." I nodded, sending him a soft smile.
"Thank you." I gingerly grabbed the staff. The gold glinted in the light. I pressed the button on the side, and the staff slid to be full length, now slightly taller than me. I stared at the designs on the side before pulling my eyes away and looking to the clouds.
"You know how to fight?" Lloyd asked and I shrugged, twisting the staff in my hold.
"Some basics. Hutchins taught me in my free time before my parents found out. Man, the earful I got from that." Lloyd gave a nod, his brows furrowing in concern.
"Stay safe, then. Okay?" I nodded, my hair sticking to my face from the rain.
"Right back at you, Greenie." Lloyd turned away from me as lightning stuck near by. I could see the flash of it reflect over the rest of us. My stomach twisted at the proximity, but also how it reminded me of my last talk with Harumi.
"That lightning is getting way too close for comfort. Jay, try to hold them off." Lloyd commanded.
"Got it." Jay said with a nod, putting his nun-chucks away and holding his arm out. The next time lightning struck, Jay seemed to pull on its energy. I watched with wide eyes, flinching back as the lighting danced across the palm of his hand. I squinted my eyes as the lightning grew brighter, then it was sent over the side of the ship.
I blinked, trying to readjust my eyes as Jay keeled over, panting. After a few moments, he turned to us with a smile, then straightened up. "You're welcome." He called over the rain and I gave him a nod, not sure what else to do. Behind him, a small figure came flying towards us. I could easily tell it was Samurai X, though none of us could stop her as she shot the sails of the ship. They exploded in a burst of flames, causing the ship to shake again.
"There!" Cole called out as he stumbled into me. He was also the one to stabilize the both of us, which I was thankful for because on my own we would've both gone down.
"Can't see a thing in this storm!" Lloyd cried out as Samurai X flew away from us, taking cover in the clouds.
"Time to light this place up." Kai responded, quickly putting his sword away in favor of cupping his hands together. His brow furrowed in concentration as a ball of fire formed in his hands. Kai spun, then threw up his hands, releasing the fire. It flew up into the sky, coloring the area around us a soft golden.
"Rumi, stand back and take this." Lloyd commanded, giving her his extra sword.
"But I don't know how to fight." Harumi objected, shaking her head as she stared down at the hilt of the sword.
"But you wanna live, right?" Lloyd questioned, and Harumi didn't answer. She grabbed the sword from him, holding it in front of her. I held the staff in front of me now, seeing as things were getting more serious. Samurai X came flying nearby again, and this time Lloyd put his sword away as he ran to the railing. The others followed him, including Harumi, but I stayed on the deck, watching. Lloyd pulled his hands back, a green ball of energy formed between his palms as he curled his fingers. I was fascinated by the tendrils that danced in the ball, though it was short lived as Lloyd shot his hands forward. The energy flew from his hands, narrowly missing Samurai X as she flew closer. Lloyd quickly made another, and this time he did hit the suit, but it didn't seem to damage anything.
"Don't let her get the thruster!" Lloyd yelled as Samurai X landed on the ship. Samurai X reached for her back, pulling out the suit's sword. The gold of it glinted in lightning that passed by the ship. I shifted on my feet, worried on how this may play out. If it came to a last resort for me and Harumi to fight, we both had barely any proper training. I was hoping it didn't have to come to that.
Jay ran forward first, nun-chucks in hand. Samurai X quickly backhanded him, though, sending him flying across the deck. He let out a yell as he crashed into the wood, rolling over its surface. I grimaced, not able to go console him as Cole and Kai ran forward. Samurai X grabbed Cole, holding him in the air. As Kai swung his sword, Samurai X turned her attention to him. She blocked him with the suit's sword, then swung her sword hard enough to send Kai tumbling over the side.
"Kai!" I went running for him as Cole was thrown to the side like Samurai X's simple rag doll. Kai glanced to me, barely holding on to the edge of the ship.
