"(y/n)." I turned at the voice, not recognizing where I was, but I found no one around me. The air around me was misty, and I could barely make out the shapes as something moved around me. "(y/n), listen to me." I spun in my spot, seeing a silhouette standing across from me.

"Who... where am I? What am I doing here?" I asked as the figure stepped closer. I couldn't make out their face, but they sounded feminine. Her voice was raspy, one I didn't recognize.

"Look within yourself. You'll find your answers there." The woman answered. I could make out the silhouette of her hat briefly through the fog, then the ground gave out beneath me.

I was too surprised as the area around me fell into a blur of color, then I landed on a new ground. Rock dug into my hip and palms as I pushed myself up. I was in a cave now, and in the middle was a pedestal. I felt something slide down my forehead. I was quick to wipe it away, and when I looked at my hand, red glistened in the dim light.

"What?" I whispered to myself, then I stood, looking around. I didn't recognize where I was, but yet there was something familiar about the setting. A few feet away from me lay a broken knife.

"I'm sorry." I faced the new person, almost surprised to see Harumi standing there, but she was much younger here. "I broke our promise." I frowned at her, unable to recall what promise she meant.

"What promise? You never broke one." I told her gently as I knelt down in front of her. Dream or not, my instinct was to comfort her. Harumi was often paranoid as a child, always seeming as if we'd hurt her for any wrong she'd done.

"I promised to always tell you the truth. Remember?" I blinked in confusion as Harumi grasped my hand. Her thumb harshly pressed into my palm, where the blood was. "Remember? Remember?" Harumi's voice pitched as she repeated herself. Her hazel eyes were wide in concern. "(y/n)? (y/n)? (y/n)?" I tried to pull my hand away, her grip beginning to hurt as Harumi morphed, aging before my eyes as she repeated my name again. Her nails dug into my skin.

"(y/n), (y/n), (y/-

n)." I woke up with a gasp, pulling my hand to my chest as I quickly sat up. Jay fell back in surprise, being the one to have woken me. The sun shone above us now, and a blanket was curled up in my lap, though I knew I hadn't fallen asleep with it. "You okay?" Jay questioned after he collected himself. I gave a slow nod.

"Yeah. Just... a strange dream." Jay gave a nod at my answer.

"A lot of those going around apparently." Jat told me, then held out his hand. "Here, Kai and I are at the bridge trying to help find Cole and Zane. We found out he's undercover with the Sons of Garmadon, but nothing more than that. Lloyd's out looking for them as we speak. And Nya's working on... I don't know, actually, but Harumi is with her. None of us had seen you this morning so I decided to come check on you." Jay explained to me as I took his hand, thanking him as he pulled me up.

"Does Nya need any help?" I questioned and Jay gave a shrug.

"She might. I'm sure she wouldn't oppose to it. Not sure if Harumi is already helping, but the more help the better I guess." Jay replied and I nodded, letting him lead me to where Nya was.

"Do you mind, sis?" Kai hissed out from above. "Trying to save Cole and Zane." He continued with an irritated huff.

"What do you think I'm doing?" Nya countered, glaring up at the vent Kai was looking down through. "Zane won't last long undercover in a biker gang without a bike." Nya explained to him.

"Oh." Kai said after a beat of silence. Nya rolled her eyes, turning to Harumi who was standing to the side.

"Harumi, can you hand me the electric torque wrench?" Nya asked her. Harumi smiled and nodded.

"Yes, of course." She grabbed the closest tool to her. I watched her, the same doubts from last night washing over me, though guilt was quick to follow. Who was I to say how she was to grieve? If she wanted to push me away until she sorted her mind out, then that was okay. But what about the dream? I questioned in my mind, then I quickly pushed the thought away as Nya shook her head at Harumi. A dream is a dream, that doesn't make it true. I was just being paranoid and my dream was just playing off of that.

"Oh, sweetie, that's the torque multiplier." Nya told her. I walked forward, slapping a hand over a different tool, then I held it out to Nya with a soft smile. Nya's mouth dropped a little in surprise. "Oh, thanks." She grabbed it, then turned around, working on something in the bike.

"A while back Hutchins helped us fix one of the hidden doors back at the Palace so we wouldn't get in trouble. I learned from him." I told them, though it still left unsaid questions in the air. Why wouldn't Harumi remember that too? But not everyone has to remember every experience. It could be one she easily forgot because it wasn't important to her. But couldn't she at least recognized the tools? She might not have. But she could have.

I swallowed down my rising doubt again. Part of it stayed though, caught in my throat as I watched Nya work. I didn't miss the look Harumi sent me. But Nya wasn't paying attention to it and Jay was long gone now.

"I must've forgotten about that. Maybe I should be doing something more useful." Harumi finally spoke again, putting the torque multiplier away. I watched her leave the room after Jay. A frown was on her face, and beginning to form on mine too. Above us, I could hear Kai and Jay talking to Lloyd, and a small smile pulled up at my lips when I heard Lloyd answer. I knew the situation wasn't desirable, but hearing Lloyd still lifted my spirits, even if just a little.

Nya turned, putting the electric torque wrench aside in favor so some pliers. I turned my eyes up, listening to Lloyd's barely decipherable answer from down here.

"I saw that." Nya said, and I dropped my eyes to her, confused.

"Huh?" I asked, sounding stupid as I stared at her. Nya peeked over the other side of the vehicle to look at me.

"That little smile." Nya told me nonchalantly, then she tried to replicate the smile while pointing at herself, then me, then up at the bridge. I felt my cheeks burn as she laughed. "Someone has a crush!" Nya sang, and I could only imagine how red my face was as I shook my head.

"No?" I squeaked out, which only made Nya laugh more.

"I won't tell." She replied, ducking down to work on the motorcycle again.

"I-I don't!" I protested, and Nya scoffed.

"Yeah, and I'm not the water ninja. Pass me the screwdriver to your left, please." I huffed a breath, but complied, knowing this was more important than debating if my crush existed or if I was in denial.

We continued on like this, in a partial silence as I handed Nya tools, and later on helped her in some of the actual building after Kai and Jay left to search other stations. While we worked though, and even came to finish the bike, Harumi still hadn't come from where she had hidden away to.

"I've acquired a signal from Zane." Pixal's voice crackled over the speakers. Nya and I shared a look, then she dropped what we had been putting away. I copied her, wincing at the metal clang as we ran for the bridge. When we got there, Zane's view was already on screen. He was somewhere in the city on a motorcycle, following behind members of the Sons of Garmadon.

"My cover may be blown, but I've spotted the Mask of Deception." Zane said over the speakers. True to his word, on the back of one of the bike the mask was there, smiling, almost as if mocking us through the screen. Nya leaned forward, tapping a few of the buttons on the panel.

"Did he say he sees the Mask of Deception?" Harumi asked from behind us. I jumped, looking at her. I hadn't even heard her come up here.

"I don't know how long I'll last, so I'll tell you this now. I don't know who's in charge, but he is known as 'The Quiet One.'" Zane informed us.

"The Quiet One?" I repeated under my breath. Something dipped in my gut, telling me I should know this, but nothing came up in my mind.

"Hold tight a little longer, we have a new bike coming to you now!" Nya told him while pressing more buttons on the panel, then she paused, eyes widening. "Zane, where's Cole?" Nya questioned, panicked.

"I had to leave him with the Sons of Garmadon as to not blow my cover. I planned to go back for him, as I now know the location of their hideout." Zane replied back. I nodded, wringing my hands absent-mindedly.

"Well, at least we know their hideout, so that's good, right?" I asked, but was met with silence as we all stared at the screen. Soon, though, Zane was stuck behind other cars. Nya shook her head at the sight.

"Typical. Any time we're saving the city there's traffic." Nya complained as Zane asked for Pixal's help. When she could offer none, he took to traveling on foot between the cars. "Come on, we gotta get the bike." Nya tugged me with her. I stumbled after her, then quickly made my way down the ladder.

When we got to the bike again, Nya pushed a button on the wall and a door on the back wall opened up. Nya had me push the bike on the front while she took to the back.

"Zane. Look up." Nya told Zane as we paused at the entrance. "You have some help. Let her fly." Then with a final shove, we pushed out the bike. I watched as he fell through the air for a few seconds, then the sides unfolded to slow the bike's fall as it went to a point in the traffic that wasn't as congested. I watched as Zane car hopped until he reached the bike, then he quickly hopped on it.

"This will do." He informed Nya, and Nya smiled before closing the back door.

"Hope we're not too late to the party." Nya replied as we started for the bridge again. "Think you can catch up?" She questioned, letting me start up the ladder first.

"I don't think. I know." I heard Zane, this time over the main screen by the control panel. I found my place by Harumi again while watching as Zane took off on the screen.

It didn't take him long to catch up with the Sons of Garmadon members, and he was even quicker at taking out all but two bikes. The last two bikes were bigger, and the mask was on one. For the other, I couldn't see the rider very well.

"I've caught up with the mask." Zane informed us as he grew closer to the two bikers. Once he got side-by-side with the biker who had the mask, though, the biker grabbed the mask and placed it on. I watched with wide eyes as horns grew from the mask, and the eyes glowed a bright red.

The biker raised a hand, and then Zane's bike was lifted too. Zane let out a yelp as he went up a few feet, then was dropped, causing him to momentarily lose control of the bike. Then the biker reached a hand back, then tossed it forward. On the screen, a cluster of large, pointed rocks lifted up and flew through the air.

"Zane, are you seeing what we're seeing?" Nya asked him. I would've pointed out that we were watching through his eyes if I wasn't so surprised by what I was watching. I had learned about the masks, the dangers of their very presence, but I didn't know they granted abilities when worn.

"I was going to ask you the same thing." Zane answered her as the rocks came to stand vertically in the air, then they dropped one by one. Zane swerved around each one, narrowly missing being crushed. The biker only brought up more rocks as he slammed his bike into Zane's. Zane's bike slid again, almost losing control.

"If you're having trouble, we built in some additional help." Nya told him.

"I see that now. Activating..." Zane pressed the button for the falcon-like contraption. It immediately lifted from the front of his bike, taking flight beside him. I smiled at it, knowing it held a significance for Zane. Nya had explained to me before that a few years back he had a robot falcon companion he had grown close with, but it got destroyed. After his father passed, they couldn't find the original blueprints for it, so it could never be rebuilt. For this reason, Nya thought the touch to his bike would make him happy, and I complied as I had loosely helped wire it.

The falcon dipped down, then flew up, shooting the coming spiked rocks. They exploded, only leaving behind clouds of dust. After the threat was gone, the falcon attachment flew back to the bike, reattaching itself to the front.

More rocks were brought out as they moved through a narrow canyon, and the rocks only moved to try and block Zane's path. Dust blew up through the air as each one landed, but Zane was still able to avoid all of them. However, when the dust cleared, only one biker was ahead of him now instead of two. This biker slid to a stop, sword raised. I could see now that it was the unnamed person we saw at the karaoke bar.

Zane drove up the side of some of the rocks avoiding the biker with the red sword. Zane only continued driving forward, and the other biker followed. Without falter, Zane threw back some of his shurikens, but the other biker only dodged all four of them. The next two thrown his way landed on the front of the bike, though the biker didn't seem bothered as he pulled up beside Zane.

Then the signal cut out, only freezing in bits to capture the look of the other biker, but no audio came through.

"I am losing signal with Zane. I will try to repair this now." Pixal informed us, and the screen returned to the map of Ninjago. Six blinking dots were on the map, each color coded for the ninja. I stared at the screen blankly, not sure what to say. Zane wasn't in the best situation, but he wasn't in the worst either. I wasn't sure if he had an upperhand or not, though the Sons of Garmadon seemed ruthless when it came to anyone getting in their way.

"I cannot reestablish connection. Zane is offline, but his emergency protocols have alerted me of his location." Pixal told us moments later, and Nya let out a gasp, pressing more buttons.

"Everyone, can you hear me? Get back to the Bounty. Zane needs our help. I repeat-" I looked to Harumi, watching as her expression shifted. She stared at the screen, squinting her eyes. A hint of a smile pulled at her lips until her eyes met mine. For a moment, surprise came across her features, then her lips pulled to a frown.

"Is there anything we can do to help?" Harumi asked Nya. Nya nodded, pointing toward the ladder.

"There's a spotlight down where (y/n) and I were working on the motorcycle. It's getting dark and I have a feeling we'll need it." Nya said, then she went back to communicating with the boys. I nodded, letting Harumi go ahead first, then I followed her. I couldn't deny it now, something was wrong, though I wasn't 100% sure on what. Harumi was hiding something.

I thought of asking as I finished climbing down the ladder, but I decided now wasn't the time. Zane was what came first right now, and we needed to find him. If they needed the light to do so, then I'd get it without starting other problems. So I silently helped Harumi pull the light from the room and onto the main deck, then I waited beside it as she left me alone again.
