《Secrets in the Moonlight (Lloyd Garmadon x reader)》Eight

Kai and Jay already seemed to know the news Lloyd had told Nya, Harumi and I, and when we had come to the bridge, they were in a hushed conversation. Once they saw Lloyd, however, the conversation quickly ended as they came to the screen with us. Jay was quick to explain how we had a view from Zane and Cole, but as we could only see Cole, I assumed we were tapping into whatever Zane could see.
Now, I stood between Jay and Lloyd. Harumi was on the other side of Lloyd, while Nya was beside Kai and Jay. On the screen, the camera followed Cole as he walked towards a small stage with a microphone. Zane headed in the opposite direction, towards a jukebox. I wasn't entirely sure where they were or what was happening. Though, in a brief glance up, I could see Ultra Violet standing with someone else on the second floor.
"That's a local karaoke place in the city." Lloyd whispered to me as he shifted closer. I nodded, feeling a blush rise to my cheeks at the sudden realization of how close he was. I was thankful for his explanation, though, as I understood more now on the setting of the place. But now I felt more stupid for not putting it together. I had heard of karaoke before, we just never had done it in the Palace.
"I'm Rocky Dangerbuff, and here's something mean to sing." Cole said into the mic, then he tossed a coin through the air. It sailed in the perfect arch before hitting the jukebox and falling to the ground. Zane bent down, picked it up, then he turned to the machine. "Song number 159, pronto!" Cole commanded.
Zane slipped the coin into the machine and pressed a button, then he turned, pointing to Cole. Immediately, a cute little tune began to play. An expression of horror came onto Cole's face as he shook his head.
"What? No-no-no! Not this. I wanted 159: 'Cream and Death.'" Cole cried out. Despite his protest, though, the song kept playing and the beat got faster. Cole looked around with wide eyes as others in the bar came closer to him, some glaring and waiting.
"Shine little glow-worm, glimmer glimmer," I couldn't help the surprised laugh that escaped my lips as Cole began to sing. "Hey there don't get dimmer dimmer," Cole continued. The members of the bar began laughing while pointing at Cole. Around me, the others stared at the screen, looking shocked, but smiles slowly grew on their faces as Cole danced with his singing.
"What is Cole doing?" Jay asked as he leaned closer to the screen, almost as if he couldn't believe his eyes.

"I don't know, but please tell me you are recording this." Kai replied, the amusement clear in his voice.
"Zane informed me he has a plan to gain the Son's of Garmadon's trust. But for it to work... we must trust him." Pixal interrupted. It took me a moment to process her words as I watched Cole spin around on the stage.
"Uh... no one answered my question," Kai interjected, seeming to completely ignore what Pixal had said.
"Yes, Kai, yes, I am recording. And I'm making copies. Lots of copies." I laughed at Jay's answer.
"Pass one to me when you do, I don't want to forget this." I told him as Cole's singing came through the speakers once more. Soon, the members of the bar began booing Cole. His panic only seemed to grow as he danced in place again, then drinks were being thrown at him. Cole dodged the cups and kept dancing as he put the mic to the side. He did different steps for a dance I didn't know, then stepped in one of the spilled drinks. As his leg slid in the drink, he picked up his other leg, causing him to lose his balance and fall.
When he landed, his fake mustache floated off his face and into one of the puddles of liquid. Cole was quick to push himself up, and the sticker of his fake scar fell off too. My smile quickly dropped once I realized what this meant. Despite the obvious predicament, though, Cole smiled at the group, shrugging his shoulders.
"Hey! He's one of those Ninja!" Someone yelled from the crowd.
"Grab him!" Ultra Violet commanded from off screen, then the hoard of people rushed to Cole. I watched with wide eyes as Cole grabbed the mic, using it as a weapon to try to keep the Sons of Garmadon members at bay. I saw his mouth move, but couldn't hear him over the yells of everyone else. Cole was quickly overtaken, though, then Ultra Violet and someone else was carrying him away.
"Why isn't Zane helping him?" Jay whined out, then looked at the rest of us. I bit my lip, unsure on the answer. I hadn't know the ninja very long, but they had all seemed very close, so I didn't know what Zane was doing.
"Zane has blocked all communication." Pixal informed us, which only twisted my stomach into knots.
"This is our only lead." Nya said, pointing to the screen. "We may never get a second chance." This was also true, we didn't have another opportunity to infiltrate the Sons of Garmadon's hideout, and I doubted that after this we would ever get one.

"Zane wanted us to trust him." Lloyd spoke up in agreement with Nya.
"Zane is letting this happen!" Jay argued with the shake of his head.
"I'm not waiting for the coach to put me in. I'm going." Kai said, his voice stern as he pushed passed the rest of us, then ran for the ladder.
"Pixal, watch over the Princesses." Lloyd ordered as he started to step away.
"My apologies, Princesses." Pixal said as the other ninjas began to follow after Kai.
"I can handle myself." Harumi objected from beside me.
"I know how it feels, but Lloyd's right. Our first order is to protect the both of you." Nya told Harumi, then began climbing down the ladder after the others. I watched as they left from the balcony, suddenly worried again as each of the Ninja grabbed ropes that were attached to part of the Bounty. Lloyd sent me a soft smile, almost as if he could sense the fear that squeezed at me. If the Sons of Garmadon could capture Cole almost effortlessly, who was to say they couldn't do the same for the rest of them?
I tried to smile back as Lloyd flipped his hood up, then the rest of them followed. As the ship lowered, the ninja stepped onto the railing, then jumped off the side. I barely made it to the other railing to watched as they swung from the rope and landed on the roof of a neighboring building.
Behind me, Harumi let out a sigh and I turned to her. A pout pulled at her lips as she stared at the city around us.
"Hey, I understand. But we can't risk getting caught by the Sons of Garmadon." I told her with a shrug, assuming her frustration was with staying behind on the Bounty. "Maybe we can find more games to play? I saw some in the closet." I started for the ladder but Harumi only shook her head.
"No. I'm going to go to bed. Goodnight (y/n)." Harumi's eyes barely glazed over me as she made her way down the ladder and back towards the sleeping quarters she had been staying in. When she was gone, my shoulders slumped down. Despite the assurances of Nya and Pixal, something about Harumi still felt off. We had grown close over the eight years we lived together, bonding over our hardships in schooling, becoming a princess, our missing of our birth parents.
I made my way back to Pixal, watching the blinking lights that represented each of the ninja. The screen disappeared, however, when I stopped in front of it.
"Princess? What is the matter?" I shrugged, staying quiet for a moment.
"I know you and Nya said to give Harumi time, and I know she's supposed to be grieving but I-" My voice cracked and I stared down at my hands. "I know losing the family we had created was hard, god I know, but I feel like she's being cold with me. It isn't even being quiet as in she's too sad to talk with me, it's... angry." I ran a hand through my hair. "But why would she be angry with me? I didn't do anything. I lost everything that she did." I looked back to the screen, and Pixal was quiet for a few seconds.
"Princess, I will be honest and say I do not know much about how your relationship with Princess Harumi was previously. But perhaps you are misreading her anger. Sometimes, when someone doesn't know how to express their emotions properly, it may seem like they are lashing out at you. In reality, they may be frustrated with a separate aspect of their life. In this situation, she may feel angry with the people who did this to your family, but without them here, it may seem directed at you." I nodded, though I wasn't sure if Pixal could see me. I understood what she meant, and it made sense, but I wasn't convinced. But I also didn't want to talk about it anymore.
"Thanks Pix." I told her, then I looked back to the moon. "I'm going to go sit at the front of the ship, clear my head. Can you notify me if something important comes up for the ninjas?" I asked her.
"Will do, Princess. And I'm glad I could help." Pixal replied, then I was walking away. I slid down the ladder, a new weight on my chest. Something still bugged me, even as I sat down near the bow of the ship. I turned my eyes up to the moon, thinking of more than my mother now. Somehow, every time I lost someone, it always seemed to be in the night.
"What do I do?" I murmured, mostly to myself. There was no answer, as I expected, but for a moment I could swear the half moon glowed brighter. "I miss you." I decided to add, talking to my mother, and now my adoptive parents and Hutchins as well. If they were here, they'd know what advice to give, but also, if they were here, I wouldn't be in this situation.
I dug my face into my hands, suddenly desperate for the return of the ninja. For the first time, even under the moon, I felt like I was suffocating under my new life, a new weight I didn't understand how to carry.

Dauntless: Origins
Snow white hair, blue eyes, pale. Devil, monster, mutt, failure. This story follows one Tyr Faeron, crown prince, heir primus and mass murderer. A wrathful, angry, and lost young man that has made it his goal to hunt down the men that killed his mother - and he is on the cusp of finishing the promise he'd made before her cairn stones so many years ago. On the surface he is duplicitous, whimsical, and base of cunning - but within the depths beyond the many masks he wears, something is waiting. Waiting for an end, the end he'd come to long for, whether it be to himself or any possible threats in his vicinity. After that long labor of vengeance is completed... Nobody knows, not even him - an arrogant and otherwise solitary individual with nothing in the way of friends - only the brothers of the blackguard who follow him through life as he pursues this mission. He was born a prince, but he'd be called a disappointment - failing to manifest the great power that he was born to before being summarily discarded by his father, a 250 year old 'primus'. That word again... Men who can shatter mountains and level cities, that's what he was supposed to be. Some call them demi-gods, all Tyr sees is a poor excuse for a parent. Time had made him bitter, cruel, and arguably psychotic - seeing only enemies wherever he looks. They'd come for him, too, one day - to wipe the slate clean and make room for another - and it's his conviction to ensure that he dies while taking as many of those rats with him. This is a story about finding acceptance, growth, and understanding - from the point of view of a cold and brutal individual who wears many masks. Of someone who was born to be the greatest emperor the eastern continent has ever seen - but he failed in that. Strong, yes, but only in the context of a man - Tyr's magic is weak. His convictions are weak. He has been made a beast of instinct by loss and a constant confronting of his own impotency in the face of his father. A mythos that stretches across planes, of magic, a pantheon of cruel gods. Of someone who's dedicated his entire mind to the art of killing a man, and none to living a normal childhood or coming to understand friendship, empathy, or compassion. The first five years of his life a mystery, a hole none have ever been willing to fill, leaving him warped and twisted. His formative years gone and what must've been most of his humanity along with it. Now 17, he is on the cusp of leaving the city he'd never been permitted to leave for what might be the first time in his life. Always searching, though he won't know what for, for some time. An episodic that follows experience and symbolism rather than a never ending series of battles - where the conflict lay in constantly searching for wholeness in lieu of great villains or heroes. This is where it all started, the origin, the tale told a million times - and yet it hadn't been, 'reality' is tricky like that. The greatest lie ever told by the tongue that speaks is that any of this was real at all.
