《Secrets in the Moonlight (Lloyd Garmadon x reader)》Four

The ground rumbled with a fourth round of explosions as we exited the tunnel. Now, we were in front of the Palace. I barely got a glimpse of how the building looked behind me, slowly crumbling in on itself. Lloyd kicked someone off of their motorcycle, then swung it through the air to face away from the Palace.
"Get on!" Lloyd commanded to me and Harumi. Harumi grabbed a fallen helmet, climbing on behind Lloyd. I stared at him for a moment, dumbfounded as I held the staff close to me. I had never been on a motorcycle before.
Lloyd huffed, tugging me forward and sitting me in front of him. "Hang on!" Lloyd yelled out, barely giving me any time to cling onto his gi as his mask was flipped over his head, then he sped off.
My hair whipped around my face as Lloyd drove from the castle. I wished for a second that I had the time to pull my hair back back as Lloyd merged onto the road, or that I hadn't pulled it out of the bun it was in earlier. But I couldn't change either thing, so I found myself curling further into Lloyd. Behind us, I could hear the yells of the Sons of Garmadon gang that chose to chase after us, as we still had the mask, which I assumed Harumi was holding to, as neither Lloyd or I was.
"They're right behind us!" Harumi cried out over the wind. Lloyd gave a nod, looking over his shoulder and speeding up the motorcycle. I yelped as Lloyd swerved around different cars, tilting the bike each time he did. Another scream was let out, sounding like Ultra Violet. How she got out of the ice so quickly, I had no clue, but I wouldn't doubt her chasing us. Following her yell, I heard the sound of crashing cars and smelled burning of rubber as other cars skid to a stop.
"Hold on." Lloyd called out again and I huffed, though he wouldn't have heard it.
"You have any different advice?" I retorted, but Lloyd didn't reply as the bike moved in front of one of the trucks on the road. He pressed a button, turning the headlight off as he slowed down the bike, moving it to fall into place beside the truck. The other bikers zoomed by, not noticing yet that we were gone.
Lloyd stopped the motorcycle as they bikers left our sight, and I jolted back into him. Swiftly, the headlights came back on, then Lloyd turned onto another road. I scrunched my face as Lloyd picked up speed again, making the wind blow into my face. I had to turn it towards him as he slowly moved around another car.
"Heh heh. Lost 'em." Lloyd commented, sounding smug. I gave a little nod, showing I acknowledged what he said. I inhaled in as I sat there, and froze. I smelled something like when you first stepped out into the rain, or when I'd sit by the pond in the Palace garden with all of the flowers. There were hints of mint laced into the smell of nature, and for a moment I was reminded of the comfort of the Palace.

The thought was peaceful, but fleeting as I heard the tumbling of a car and crunch of metal, jolting me from my thoughts and making me look forward in surprise. There, Ultra Violet faced us. Her engine revved as she sped towards us through the traffic.
"Her again?" Lloyd complained as she took out her sai, raising it in the air. Lloyd reached back, grabbing his sword and holding it out across me. I stared at the blade with wide eyes, then back to Ultra Violet, who was now dragging her sai along the ground.
"You wanted different advice? Keep your head down." Lloyd commanded, and I obliged immediately. I ducked my head back into his gi and clenched my eyes shut. Oh, my God. This is where I die.
But I didn't. I heard the clashing of metal on metal as I felt Lloyd shift his arm, hitting his sword against the sai, then the bike was skidding away. Lloyd was quick to redirect it, turning it the other way to face her again. My knees knocked together in the movement, but I didn't make a sound. My throat was dry as I peeked my eyes open to see Ultra Violet was facing us again, her sai raised. From behind Lloyd, I hear Harumi let out a gasp, and I had half the mind to ask what was wrong before I saw it myself. The mask was on the road in between the two bikes. It must've fallen when we crossed each other in the middle.
"The mask." I murmured. Lloyd was quick to return his sword back into its sheath, and Ultra Violet did the same with her sai. Both motorcycles went forward, and I felt the motorcycle tilt as Harumi leaned forward to grab mask. Ultra Violet did the same, letting out the same scream she had earlier as we passed again in the middle.
For a moment, it was quiet, then she raised the orange mask across from us. I felt my heart drop. They had two masks now, and Ultra Violet laughed, waving it like a prize at us. If they got the third mask, all of this sacrifice to save me and Harumi, the damage to the Palace and the deaths that it brung, what would it amount to?
"We have to get it." Harumi said, voice pitched in panic. Lloyd shook his head as more bikers pulled behind Ultra Violet.
"We have to get out of here." Lloyd argued, then turned the motorcycle away from the group. I could hear them start their motorcycles, chasing us. They were closer now than they were before.
Lloyd made another turn, this time fully off of the highway and towards what looked to be a dock. Lloyd turned a corner, narrowly missing a truck carrying different plastic containers. I heard the containers fall as we passed, bouncing along the concrete until the others behind us hit the containers, scattering them across the street. Lloyd hissed out under his breath as we turned again.

"The man, Lloyd, don't hit him." I said quickly, not thinking about how he could see what I did. Lloyd didn't scold me for the obviousness though, he only nodded.
"I already saw him, Princess." Lloyd replied, moving the motorcycle to the side. I heard the man let out a yell, but when I managed to lift myself enough to look over Lloyd's shoulder, I saw only his box had been dropped and he was unharmed.
Lloyd rounded the corner, driving towards the dock. On the dock I was facing, Ultra Violet was there, looking to us with a smile. I could only assume the docks behind me had other Sons of Garmadon members as well.
"What the hell are you doing?" I cried out as Lloyd pushed on the gas.
"It's a dead end." Harumi chimed in, pointing frantically at the approaching end of the dock.
"But we're not dead yet." Lloyd replied and I scoffed, shaking my head.
"That doesn't make any sense!" I screeched as we went up the ramp, then went flying through the air. I felt my breath catch in my throat and I shut my eyes. Soon, though, the bike landed onto solid ground, and I jolted into Lloyd as we came to a stop. My knees hit into each other again and this time I did yelp, clenching my eyes shut. I heard the sound of Harumi's feet hitting the wooden floor of the ship, but I stayed a moment longer, until Lloyd was pulling me along, partially supporting my weight.
"This way, Princess." Lloyd said, leading me to a ladder. I barely had time to admire the space around me before Lloyd was climbing up, then Harumi was nudging me forward. My arms were shaky as I grasped at the different wooden ridges on the wall. I was beginning to realize as my adrenaline rush faded how much my wrists were aching, and my knee was prickling with new coming pain as I followed after Lloyd.
"What are you thinking?" Harumi suddenly questioned from behind me. "We can't get away from them in this thing." Lloyd glanced back to us.
"Hey, now. This 'thing' still has a few surprises in her." Lloyd argued as he reached up, pulling at some of the cloths to reveal different panels and computers.
"Lloyd, they're not just gonna let us sail away." Harumi objected. Lloyd shook his head at her as he pressed some buttons, then twisted one of the knobs. The lights and screen flickered on, then shut down again. Lloyd gave an irritated huff, then kicked the panel. To my surprise, everything turned back on, beeping as it fully loaded.
"Who said anything about sail?" Lloyd finally replied, a smug smile on his lips.
"Wait, don't tell me this is what I think it is..." I murmured as I stepped closer to the main computer. The map showed a blinking dot, what I assumed to be us. Lloyd turned to the other panel, flipping other switches.
"What is it?" Harumi asked, coming to stand by me. From above us, I could hear the creaking of the sails, then the engine followed.
"Holy crap. It's the Bounty!" I said, smiling at her. She didn't look as enthusiastic as Lloyd brushed passed me.
"You a fan?" Lloyd raised an eyebrow at me. I felt my cheeks heat at the question. Below us, the floor shifted as the ship began to lift, and I limped to the railing, looking down into the water as we went higher. Lloyd chuckled behind me, then the boat began to turn, heading towards the city. Harumi came to stand beside me as we passed by the different buildings.
Having barely any memory of being outside of the Palace, I stared at the world around me with wide eyes. Under different circumstances, I would have loved to learn about this in a different way, watching as screens on buildings changed, the way cars drove below us and the different shop signs flickering up at us.
"Woah." Harumi whispered beside me and I nodded. Even in her time in the Palace, the city must've changed a lot. "I've never seen the city from this high before." Harumi said quietly.
"I haven't seen it at all." I responded back, staring down at the canal as people crossed over it.
"Well, as Princess (y/n) said, welcome aboard the Destiny's Bounty." Lloyd told us. After, there was a small thud as the ship shook a little, then it stabilized again. "We're heading towards the Palace. The other Ninja are still there." Lloyd informed us. I nodded, turning away from the railing at the mention of the Palace. I wasn't sure I could handle seeing its ruin, losing the second family I ever had, the only one I actually knew. But I'd have to face it soon, because I could only imagine how things were going to get worse from here.
