《Lloyd Garmadon x Male Reader |Just My Type|》Chapter 9: The Wind Ninja
Advertisement
Thursday came and went. I was suspended, so I just stayed home all day. Of course I messaged Lloyd and asked how his day at school was and we would chat back and fourth for a little while, but nothing too notable happened that day. But then came Friday...
Today is Friday. Master Wu said he would like me to come to a secret ninja meeting. I told myself that I probably wouldn't go until the time came. Then I was just unsure. Do I go or not? Ugh, this is way too much pressure. I don't see myself ever being a good fit to be a ninja, but then again, it's not everyday you get the offer to be one. And I'd get to meet the rest of my idols. But the thing is, I just want them to be my idols. Nothing more. If I work alongside them, they won't be idols, but they'll be my partners. Is that a good word? Partners? Peers?... co-workers? I don't know...
I stand in my room, pacing in circles. My heart is beating fast. What do I do? What if I make the wrong decision? What if I go and it turns out I hate being a ninja? What if I don't go and I regret it for the rest of my life? Being a ninja is a lot of pressure for a high schooler.
I look over to the folded up ninja suit in a chair in the corner of my room. I stare at it for a while. I pick it up, unfold it and lay it out on my bed. I don't know what inspired me to do so, but I just did. I stare at it for quite some time. Is this me? Am I truly meant to be The Wind Ninja? Can I really see myself identifying with this persona? Ugh...
I'm not going. There is a slim chance that I might like it, but I guess I'll just play it safe and stay home... But on the other hand... What if being a ninja is the best decision I could ever make? What if it changes my life for the better? I could finally be... somebody.
I think I'll go. No one says I can't quit. It's not like once I join, I'm forced to stay. I guess I'll give it a shot. I slip on the suit and put a jacket on over it so that nobody sees my suit and I put my mask in my pocket. I swiftly climb out the window so my mom won't know I'm gone. And I make my way to the warehouse Wu told me to go to. Hopefully I'm making a good choice...
-_-_-_-_-_-_-
After a little while of walking, I make my way to the ninja's warehouse down by the docks. It's actually more of a really large storage unit, but whatever. I hear them all inside. I stand outside and they can't see me. I take a deep breath, slip my mask out of my pocket, put it on and take off my jacket. I hide it outside. I'm now in nothing but this ninja suit.

I slowly make my way to the front of the warehouse and peer in. I see all six of the ninja and Master Wu. None of them see me. I step forward into the building a little bit.
"H-hello?" Was all I managed to call out.
All of the ninja and Wu turn their heads to look at me. All of them have a look of confusion. All but Wu.
"Wind! I'm so glad you could make it!" Wu cheers.
"Wind?" Almost all of the ninja say in unison. Even Lloyd. Lloyd doesn't know that I'm the one behind the mask. I'm still the only one who knows who he is, other than Wu, of course.
"Master Wu, what's going on?" The Water Ninja asks.
"Everyone, meet the newest member of the team. The Wind Ninja!" He introduces.
"Woah, wait, I don't know if I'm really a member of the team yet. I'm just here to see what this is all about," I correct.
"Master Wu, you never told us anything about a new ninja," Lloyd says, or should I say, The Green Ninja. Should I refer to him as that when he's in the suit? I dunno.
"Just as I did with all of you, I saw something special in Wind," he says, referring to me as Wind. I guess that's how they all refer to each other as well? By their ninja signs? I'm just making assumptions.
"Yeah, but you formed this group all at once. It seems kinda silly to add random people whenever you want," The Water Ninja speaks again.
"There is no limit that says when someone can be a ninja. There's a special reason as to why you're all here," Wu explains.
"And what would that be?" The Earth Ninja asks.
"That's for you to find out in the future," Wu says.
"Okay?" The Earth Ninja reluctantly responds.
"So, uh, what exactly is it that you guys do here at these meetings?" I finally ask.
"Many things," Wu replies, but I'm not very satisfied with the answer.
"Basically, we just hang out and train," The Fire Ninja answers me.
"Ah... Okay... So... Do we do that now?" I ask.
"Well, you still need to pick out a weapon," Lloyd says.
"A weapon? I don't know how to use any kind of weapon!" I nervously exclaim.
"None of us knew how to use weapons when we became ninja. It's just something you'll have to learn," Lloyd says in a comforting tone.
"O-okay..." I respond.
"I use a sword, Fire uses katanas, Water uses a spear, Lightning has a flail, Ice has a bow and arrow, and Earth, a hammer. Each of us has a unique weapon, and there's still plenty of choices for you," he continues.
"I don't know what I'd pick..." I admit.
"Come this way," Lloyd says and I follow him.

He walks up to a big case and opens it. It's full of weapons from top to bottom. It's quite a lot to choose from.
"Just pick one that calls to you. You'll know it when you see it," Earth says as he walks up behind me.
"Erm..." I look around, trying to find something, until one of the many weapons catches my eye. It's a pair of nunchucks. I don't know what it is about them, but I feel drawn to them. Just as Earth said I would. "What about these?" I grab hold of them.
"Nunchucks? Good choice!" Water says, confidently.
"And they can't be too hard to learn how to use, right?" I ask, in hopes of a positive answer.
"Incorrect. Nunchucks are one of the more difficult weapons to master, and failure can be quite painful," Ice chimes in.
"Wow... great..." I force a smile even though they can't see it past my mask.
"I wouldn't worry about it, though. You'll be able to get it down in no time," Fire says. He's a bit too confident in my skills.
"So... who's gonna teach me how to use these?" I ask nervously.
"We all learned on our own, but I'm sure Lightning can help you. He uses a flail, which is pretty similar to nunchucks," Lloyd says.
"I dunno, I don't really know anything about nunchucks..." Lightning denies.
I sigh. "Then I guess I'll have to learn on my own," I say with sudden confidence. Even though I'm not entirely sold on being The Wind Ninja, I do feel a sudden urge to learn how to properly use the nunchucks.
"Well, we were gonna start training anyway. Maybe you can give them a try?" Lloyd says.
"Okay," I agree.
-_-_-_-_-_-_-
Training commences and while everyone is off doing their own thing. Whether that be practicing with their weapons, or just their bare hands, I'm focused on nothing but my nunchucks and a punching bag. This is quiet the surreal experience for me. I've always had fantasies of fighting alongside the ninja, but of course in those fantasies, I'm an overpowered god-like being who can do anything I want. But this is real life. I'm a normal person. And I have no idea what I'm doing.
I stand infront of the punching bag, and before I even attempt to use my weapon, I have to figure out how to hold it, first. I'm no expert when using nunchucks, but I just try to hold them like how they do in the movies. But nunchucks are a more awkward weapon than I anticipated them to be. They're weird to hold and they just feel unbalanced. That's probably why they called to me the most. I'm also awkward, weird, and unbalanced.
I swing around the weapon trying to get a good feel for the way they move. Transporting them from hand to hand, swinging them back and forth until the inevitable happened. I hit myself in the face with them.
"Ah-" I yelp. I try to conceal my pain, but of course everyone heard me. They all turn to look at me.
I cover the spot above my eye, which is the spot I hit with the nunchucks. Lloyd, Water, and Fire were the first to rush over to me, slowly being followed by the rest of the group.
"Are you okay, Wind?" Lloyd asks.
"Yeah, I'm fine," I say. I remove my hand from my face to see my hand lightly coated in my own blood. How great.
"You're bleeding, Wind," Fire comments.
"Yes, I'm aware," I say with a bit of a mocking tone in my voice. He says I'm bleeding as if I don't see my own blood on my hand. I just sigh. "I'm sure it'll be fine. You can all just go back to what it was you were doing," I attempt to get them to leave me alone. Not that I don't appreciate the concern, I just don't care much for the attention, especially from people I hardly know. Other than Lloyd, obviously. I always appreciate his concern.
"Alright, just be careful, please," Lloyd says softly.
"Yeah... yeah, I will," I say as they all walk off, Lloyd being the most hesitant to leave me. He really is the most caring person I know. Even though he thinks he doesn't know me, he's still concerned about my wellbeing. Which gets me thinking...
I really hope this doesn't leave a mark for very long. If I see Lloyd outside of school, or any of the other ninja for that matter, they're going to see the wound on my face and automatically assume I'm The Wind Ninja. I'll just hope for the best and hopefully this wound will heal before Monday when school starts up again. Then I'll probably try to train myself with the nunchucks on my own time. That way if I do happen to hurt myself in the future, which I know I will, no one would have seen me hurt myself and they'll just assume I got the wound from something else. That's the plan anyway.
But what do I know. Nothing ever goes to my plan...
-_-_-_-_-_-_-
I hope you all liked this chapter. (Y/N) becomes The Wind Ninja. Which I hope is something you have all anticipated.
