《Energy: A Lloyd Garmadon Fanfic》~Chapter Eleven~

You carefully opened your eyes but a bright white light blinded you. You closed your eyes again and opened them again, still adjusting to the light but this time you saw some figures around you. "I think she's waking up." You heard, unsure of who said it. What's going on? What happened? And where were you?
Were you...dead? You opened up your eyes once more and this time let your eyes adjust to the brightness. Once your eyes were in focus, the first thing you saw was a ceiling. Looks like you weren't dead, but where were you. You slowly turn your head and slowly get up. A sharp pain goes through your head and you groan and lay back down.
But when you were able to get up you had a pretty good idea of where you were. The hospital. You were in a hospital gown and had chords connected to your arms. "Good! You're awake. I'd like to introduce myself, I'm Doctor Chris." The doctor says and shakes your hand with a smile. "Hello." You greet him.
"Your head probably hurts and you look like you want to sit up." The Doctor grabs a remote and presses a button and your bed starts going up, making you sit up. "Thank you." You say and he smiles and nods.
"Now before I bring your father in I'm gonna give you a quick review of what happened and why exactly you're in a hospital bed." "Okay." "So, Alex, That's your name by the way, you had a pretty bad injury to your ankle which only got worse and ended up getting your whole leg injured." Doctor Chris says and shows you X-rays of your leg.
"You broke a couple bones and...I think the rest would be too intense for you but right now you should be healing up. You had to get surgery on your leg but take it very easy for a couple weeks." "H-how did I get injured?" "And that's where we get to your next problem. Let's just say, you hit your head very hard. This is the MRI scan we got of your brain." Doctor Chris says and shows you the next X-ray slide.
"Now after seeing what I'm talking about, I have a few questions for you Alex." He says and grabs a clipboard and a pen. "Tell me everything you remember before leading to your injury. I want to make sure you haven't any memory loss."
You think back for a minute but you felt blurs of things. "Okay...I remember that I had to go on a mission with Lloyd Garmadon...we went through forest to get to the hideout of our target...a woman named...Leiko uh..Chen. S-she was capturing elemental masters and taking their powers. When we made it there...we snuck in the palace and we were under attack by...S-samurai.
"One of them I think...kicked me in my ankle and I broke it....but then...the rest is a blur...I-I remember Lloyd putting a cast on me and him helping me limp down the hallway but I don't remember....how we got to the room.
"A-and I don't remember...seeing any elemental masters...I mean...maybe they were there but...I-i don't remember. And then I got my mech...sent by M-my friend Jessie who was down at the Samurai Z base during the mission.
"I remember Lloyd and I fighting Leiko...but then...I get more blurs...I-i remember seeing her dead...and me on the ground with Lloyd by my side...and I...I can't remember anything from there..." You tell him and he writes things down on the clipboard.

"Okay..I feel like you remember a lot but you're missing chunks. Alex...you might have slight amnesia. But don't worry! I think it shouldn't last long. Just try your best to remember things. Okay?" "Okay. But...where's Lloyd? I-is he okay?" You ask him.
"He's right next door! Doing fine! No need for surgery or anything like that. But..." "But what?!" "But, he also has slight amnesia. Which like yours, will clear up soon." "What does he remember?" "Everything that you remember. He also doesn't remember those elemental masters, or how he ended up on the ground, like you! But I suggest you two work things out together and get those empty holes in your mind filled in! Now, I'm gonna bring in your dad, so I'll be back." Doctor Chris gets up and leave the room.
You really did feel like you had holes in your memory. Like you were missing important details. You then looked at your leg, your leg still had a cast on it, but what could have made your leg get worse? Maybe something fell atop it.
The door opened and you saw the relieved face of your father. "Dad!" You say happily. "Alex!" He says and goes over to you and gives you a tight hug. "Alex I missed you so much! I was worried!" He says and let's go.
"Well hey! I'm alive! Haha how's Jessie and Jason?" "They were actually here yesterday." "YESTERDAY?!" "Hehe uh yeah..you and Lloyd were taken here yesterday and you had surgery and your leg needed to rest overnight to kind of rehabilitate itself, which is why you're wearing a cast. But Jessie and Jason came over yesterday, of course devastated by you but when you get discharged they'll be at home waiting for you!" He says with a smile and you smile back.
There was a knock on the door and in came Garmadon. "Ah! Alex! You're awake! Good. Just came in to check on you." He says with a smile. You smile back, "Thanks Sensei Garmadon. I'm alright." "Good! Good! Lloyd will be happy to hear that! It's all he's been asking, 'Is Alex awake yet?' 'Is she alright?' But I told him not to worry!" Garmadon says and you get surprised. Lloyd's worried about you?
Your dad chuckles and looks at Garmadon, "Thats all Alex has been asking ever since she woke up! If Lloyd's okay." You surprisingly felt heat rise to your cheeks, not sure of why. Just then there's a knock and the door opens up, revealing Doctor Chris. "How we doing in here?" He asks with a smile and you smile and give him a thumbs up. "Good! I'm gonna take these chords off your arms now and how about we see if you can walk or limp at least!" He says and goes over to the machine and presses a couple buttons, turning them off.
Doctor Chris takes off every chord off you and you feel free from them. "Alright, now let me check to see if the cast is secure." He says and you nod and pull the covers off you. Doctor Chris turns your leg to both sides then lifts it up and puts it back down on the bed. "No pain?" "No Doctor." "Alright now try sitting, let your legs hang off the bed." He instructs and you carefully do so.
To you, your leg felt weird, and your cast went past your knee. Once you sat up on the edge of the bed, Doctor Chris bends down and checks your leg once more before standing back up. "Alright now let's try standing up. If your father wouldn't mind assisting you." He says and your father nods with a smile and goes over to you and you hold both his hands. He pulls you up and then you were standing up again. You almost lost balance because you hadn't stood in a long time and your leg hurted a little.

"Haha whoops! We got a tipper here!" Your dad says and holds you tight and you regain balance. "Do you still feel a little pain when you apply pressure standing up?" Doctor Chris asks. You frown and nod. "Point to me where." You pointed to your ankle and knee. "Alright. How about you try these crutches." He says and hands you a pair. You take them and position them under your arms and they help you stand. "We'll make room but try getting to the door by yourself." You give Doctor Chris a smirk. "Chris please. I've been in crutches before. I got this." You say and he chuckles and moves out your way.
You use the crutches and limp yourself over to the door with no problem. "I stand corrected then Alex! Haha. Well you'll be using these when you get home, alright! From the looks of everything, I'd say you could get discharged today." He says and you get relieved and smile.
"The sooner the better Doctor Chris! Haha I'll sign those forms now." Your dad says and the Doctor nods. "You can follow me to the desk. And Alex if you want to walk around the hospital, get those leg in motion then you can. Or...visit your boyfriend Lloyd, which is probably your first place." Doctor Chris says with a grin and leaves the room with my dad, you and Garmadon follow out after. Heat rose to your cheeks fast. "Lloyd is not my boyfriend. I have Jason for that." You mumble as you watch your dad and the Doctor walk away.
Garmadon chuckles, "C'mon Alex, let's go see Lloyd." He says and you follow him next door. When you opened the door, Lloyd was sucking a lollipop and was watching tv, his eyes lit up as soon as he saw you. "Alex! You're okay!" He says and puts the candy down. You quickly limp over to him and give him a hug. "You too...you too." You say then let go of him with a grin. Lloyd scoots over on the bed and gesture for you to sit down next to him. Lloyd had no wires attached and no cast, just a hospital gown. Just as Doctor Chris described, Lloyd looked fine.
You slowly sit yourself next to him, being careful with your leg cast. "Woah. Looks like your leg got worse." He says, leaving the sucker in his mouth. You lightly punch him in the shoulder, "Obviously! They had to get me surgery last night!" Lloyd just runs his arm and laughs.
"Hahaha you haven't changed a bit Alex!" He says and you growl at him. "Oi...haha you two. I'm gonna see if you will be discharged soon Lloyd." Garmadon says and leaves the room. "Okay dad!" Lloyd said and threw away the empty lollipop stick to the nearby trash can.
"So...anyways...do you have slight amnesia too? I just...keep having this slight pain in my head and...I feel a little empty." Lloyd says folding his arms. You sigh and nod. "Yeah I feel you. I just feel like I'm missing important stuff..." The both of you sigh and get quiet for a bit.
"Well hey, on the bright side, we're alive and we probably finished the mission successfully." He says to you with his side smile. You look at him and smile back, feeling the heat rise up to your cheeks again. "Lloyd...I-i just want to say thank you...for everything. Throughout this whole mission, from what I remember of course, you've been striving hard to keep your promise, to keep me safe. No ones....ever did that to me before. You could've died but you'd rather me live...and you die. B-but what I still don't get...is why." Lloyd looks down and smiles, feeling his heart rate increase speed.
"Ever since I became the green ninja...my goal was to protect the people...I love. Even if it meant getting myself killed in the process." Before you could say anything, Lloyd looks back up at you. "You're my friend Alex. To me...you're too special to be lost." You smile at his words, Lloyd was really a great guy to be friends with, you had been wrong about him since the mission started.
The door opened and in came your dad, Garmadon, and Doctor Chris. "Good news you two! You both are ready to get on out of here! Haha now you two are prescribed a couple medicine to cool down the pain but my doctors note explains it all. And Alex your leg will heal in let's say maybe three to two weeks. And as for the slight amnesia for the both of you, just take things easy and get back into the flow of your regular routine to get that mind back. But I wish for the best for you two!" Doctor Chris says and shakes both of your hands.
You two thank him and he says goodbye to you all and leaves the room. "Here's some clothes for you two. And Alex...I brought your sweatpants instead of your jeans since you've got a cast." Your dad says and hands you your clothes. "That's okay. Thanks dad." "Whelp! Might as well change the quick way! NINJAAAA GO!" Lloyd says and does spinjitzu. He then stops the green tornado and he's in his regular clothes again.
"Pfft. Show off. Don't peak!" You say as you pull the curtain and separate yourself from you and them. When you were done you pulled back the curtains and walked out. "So! Who's ready to go home!?" Your dad asks and you and Lloyd smile and raise your hands. "Then let's go! Maybe we can stop for ice cream on the way out!" Garmadon says and you all walk out of the room and make your way out of the hospital. You and Lloyd were quiet the whole time, knowing you probably had to say goodbye to him and go your separate ways.
Eventually you all made it to your dad's van and he drove off. The two fathers talked the whole ride but you and Lloyd sat in the passengers quiet. But then at that moment, you leaned your head on Lloyd's shoulder and found yourself falling asleep. Lloyd felt his heart rate increase again, not sure of why. He looked down at you and smiled, putting his arm around you.
One hour later, you woke up to your shoulder being shook. You sat up and it was Lloyd. "Alex..I have to go now.." Lloyd says and you look out the window to see Sensei Garmadon's monastery. "Oh..okay. Well I hope to...to see you again soon." You say with a smile. Lloyd smiles back and gives you a nod. "Nice working with you Samurai Z." "Yeah...you too Green Ninja." Lloyd then opened his door and stepped out, then closing it.
"Wait! Lloyd!" You say and get out of the van but ended up on the ground. Lloyd quickly came over to you and helped you stand up again. "Are you oka-" Lloyd asks but gets cut off when you hug him tight. Lloyd hugs you tight back and you smile. "Goodbye Lloyd. I'm gonna miss you." Lloyd rubs your back and smiles. "Goodbye Alex. I'll miss you too." He says. You didn't want to let go but you heard the car door open up again and close, meaning your dad had gotten back in the car, ready to go.
You breathe in Lloyd's scent one last time and let him go. "Bye." He says again and this time you return the smile and nod. You get back in the van and close the door. "Ready to go home?" Your dad asks you. "Y-yes." You said, not taking your eyes off Lloyd from the window. Your dad backs the car out the driveway and then drives off. You face away from the window but then notice something next to you on the car seat.
It was Lloyd's green ninja bandana. You held it in your hands and smiled. "That sneaky little ninja...thank you Lloyd.." You whisper to yourself.

The Dungeon Hive
One thing I noticed about most dungeon stories is that most races mistakenly believe that dungeons have a hive-mind and I go, “That make sense.” Considering the various powers and how big dungeons can get, wouldn’t it make more sense for them to have a hive-mind? Watch as it changed the world of Ioplon…for better and for worse. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For edited version of the story, the full trilogy (Book_1: Fantasy Begins, Book_2: Dungeon Flames, Book_3: Spread of the Dungeons) are now available on Amazon.
