I couldn't help but to feel worried after the phone call ended. I tried not to let it get to me as I went to sit back down, forgoing the book and instead opting to watch my surroundings and Areum a bit more.
"Everything okay?" Jin asked from beside me, making me jump slightly. "Everything's good," I replied while watching a man who was standing further away while wearing black.
"Could you keep an eye on Areum for a minute?" I asked, allowing my curiosity to get the better of me as I stood up. "Sure," he answered, slightly confused, watching me as I walked away.
I felt like a predator stalking its prey as I sneaked closer to the unsuspecting man. As soon as he caught onto my movements, his body seemed to tense up before he started to run, causing me to run after him.
Ever since Y/n had received that phone call, she'd been acting weird and I wasn't the only one to realise this.
I couldn't help but watch her as she stood up before walking further away from us. I found her actions to be strange as she kept to the side near the bushes.
I couldn't help but to shout her name worriedly as she started to run after a man who was trying to evade her by running as well.
My shout seemed to attract a bit of attention as the others around me looked towards me in confusion. "Watch Areum," I said hurriedly before darting up to chase after them.
It didn't take long before I caught up to the man who'd ran himself into a dead end. He seemed scared as I cornered him into the back of the alleyway, making me feel slightly confused.
"Are you after Areum?" I asked, getting straight to the point. The man looked at me as if I was crazy before asking, "who?"

My head seemed to be all over the place, unsure if I could even trust him. "Don't bullshit me," I snarled out.
"I don't know who that is," he cried out in panic. "Then why were you acting suspiciously in the park? I saw you looking towards that group."
He threw his hood down, making me aware of the snake scales running down one side of his face. I couldn't help but gasp in surprise. The man looked sad yet frustrated as he shouted, "I just wanted to see my daughter, please don't take her away."
I felt my paranoia lessen but my confusion grow as I backed away from the shaken man, "what?" I could see the confusion etch its way clearly onto his face as he studied my outfit. "Are you not from child services?" he asked, confused. I shook my head no, making the man visibly relax as he slumped against the brick wall behind him.
Just as I was about to talk, a panting Jin came racing around the corner startling us both as the man jumped back up.
"y/n?" he worriedly called out as he made his way closer.
"Why'd you run after him?" He lectured me once he was standing in front of me. "You could have gotten hurt, you silly girl," he said while checking me for any visible injuries.
He seemed to be more content once he realised that I hadn't been hurt. "Nothing's wrong Jin, I just had a case of mistaken identity," I say, trying to ease his worries a bit.
He turned to look at the man, studying him before turning back to me and pulling me further into his arms.
"I'm sorry," I called back sympathetically as Seokjin started to pull me out of the alleyway. "Me too," I could hear him call back, making me smile slightly.

"What was all that about?" Jin asks with worry as we start to make our way back to the park where the rest were.
"Nothing," I mumbled hoping he would drop it so I wouldn't have to worry him with the information I had received from Moonbyul.
...
"Where'd you guys run off to?" Namjoon asked as soon as we'd reached hearing distance.
"Y/n thought she'd seen someone she'd known so I followed her to make sure she was safe," Jin said, saving my backside from lying.
I smiled at him, mentally thanking him. "Was it who you thought it was?" Namjoon asked me, looking up from the book in his hands, making me realise that it was the one I was previously reading.
"No, just a case of mistaken identity."

I was just like everyone else. At least, I thought so. Everyone grew up in a mansion with servants, trained to be a debutante, had a traveling archeologist for a father, and gave it all up to do whatever the hell they wanted. Right? Well that’s what I did. I was happy. As happy as a single twenty four year old girl can be living in an apartment selling shit online to pay the bills. Not actual shit, that's gross. No, I bought stuff from garage sales, thrift stores, and junk shops, and resold it in my online store. I was pretty good at finding stuff to peddle to my customers. I made rent every month and didn’t have to strip. I’m a bit too chunky to swing around a pole anyway. Life was great! Until two sexy men broke into my apartment and woke me up from the most erotic dream my sexually depraved mind could come up with. One was between my legs, the other was... Oh well, it was a dream and I didn’t even get to finish it. Those bastards! Now I’m supposed to believe my dead father wasn’t an archeologist, but some kind of paranormal agent working for a secret organization called The Guard. My ability to find items for my customers is just a perk inherited from him. And I’m supposed to use my inherited powers to save the world. All while these hunks of man flesh guard me from other paranormals out to get whatever the hell they think I have. A certain body part is dripping with excitement, literally. But my mind is saying “Hell No!”
