《Brother of Wind {book 6: Skybound}》chapter 10

Jay woke up, his face in the sand. The other Ninja did.
"Oh, thank goodness you're alive, Cole." Nya said, relieved to see that the ghost wasn't lost in the water. Cole got up and rested om the sand, on his knees. He looked disturbed.
"Cole?" Jay asked.
Morro got up and ran his hand though his hair. He looked at the green cloth still tied around his arm. Thankgoodness it's still there.
"Where's Zane?" Lloyd asked.
"No. No, no, no..." Cole said, clenching his fists.
"Maybe he's lost at sea." Nya suggested.
"Nindroids don't get lost." Lloyd said.
"There was an orange glow." Cole said.
"When I went below deck, there was an orange glow in the rec room before the crash!" Cole exclaimed.
"Whenever you make a wish, there's an orange glow!" Jay jumped.
"Zane made a wish." Nya said in disbelief.
"Correction. Zane's not here. He made three wishes." Morro said, dusting off his pants.
"Why did this turn out like this?!" Jay shouted.
"Wu, Misako, Kai, the house, boat, Zane, this is al because of wishes!!" Jay stomped on the ground.
"If I didn't make a wish, Zane wouldn't have either! And the thing is, I didn't even tell the truth!" Jay exclaimed.
"What do you mean?" Morro asked.
"I made a wish because I wanted to impress Nya, okay?" Jay said. Nya gasped.
"In the tomb of the FSM, I saw my future whete Nya and I were together! I don't know how but we were! And after all that, I was so desperate to get us together immediately, I forgot about what Neran said there." Jay said, his words getting slower as he went on.
"That seeing the future makes you do things." Morro corssed his arms. Jay nodded.
"Look, Jay. We forgive you, alright?" Cole said.
"We were just shaken up at the fact you madr a wish." Lloyd said.
"I made two." Jay said.
"HUH?" Nya asked.
"But that one was an accident! The first one was on purpose, the second one was a slip up in my words!" Jay exclaimed, stepping back. He saw his dad's book on the sand.
"And this thing just makes me want to lie even more." Jay picked it up and threw it in the water.
"Are we all done here?" Morro asked.
"Morro?" Lloyd looked to him.
"Listen, we were looking for an island right? Well, we found it." Morro pointed ti the island that they washed up on.
"And we can't dwell on the past for too long, okay. If we want Ninjago to have a better future, we need to get that Tiger Widow venom." Morro started to walk to the thick of the jungle and plants beyond the sand.
Lloyd ran after him, then Nya followed too.
"Come on, Jay." Cole called.
"I fell so bad." Jay said.
"The disappearances aren't because of you, so focus on your mistakes only." Cole said.
. . .
With more flying ships at their disposal, the Sky Pirates pulled the floating islands together to make one solid land... In the sky.
"I see Djinjago is coming together." Nadakhan said to his main crew.
"We're acquiring so much land, I wish we had more hands. I can tell you're getting stronger, Captain. Which one did you take?" Flintlocke asked about his captain's recent escapade.
"The titanium one." Nadakhan chuckled.
"He put up a good fight for a ninja. But we mustn't become complacent. They are en route to Tiger Widow Island." Nadakhan informed.

"Soto must have helped them. Do you want me to come with you to stop them?" Flintlocke asked.
"No, you stay here. But I may need a lady's touch." Nadakhan rasied his hand.
"As you wish." Dogshank nodded.
. . .
"The Tiger Widow's den should be just up ahead. Watch your step." Lloyd said, stepping onto an old bridge.
"You don't have to tell me twice." Cole said. Morro let Nya and Jay got first.
"You gonna cross?" Nya asked.
"I'll wait until you finish. In case you... Fall." Morro shrugged, glancing down. Jay and Nya made it to the other side as Morro gave himself a boost to jump over it.
"Sometimes I wish I had your power." Jay said.
"Do you guys know how to even get the venom?" Cole asked.
"If we had a Nindroid, probably." Nya said.
"But Zane's not here so we need to just figure out a way." Morro said.
"Well, we already have a way to store it. I gave everyone canteens." Lloyd said.
"Oh, that's what it's really for!" Cole exclaimed.
"Haha. Yeah." Lloyd sighed.
"Stop here." Morro said. The Ninja stopped in their tracks.
"Listen up, we don't have a sloid plan here so we're gonna have to make a few alternate routes." Morro said.
"I'll get the venom when we get there and you keep watch incase I need backup later on." Morro explained.
"Hold on, do we know anything about this Tiger Widow? Other then that it's name was made to strike terror into the hearts of men?" Jay asked.
"Well, one. It can kill people. Two, it's a spider." Cole nodded.
"That's kinda all we know, isn't it?' Lloyd asked.
"Yep." Morro said.
"AAAAAAAHHH!" Jay fell down.
"What, what is it?" Cole asked. Jay pointed to a skeleton stuck in a spider web.
"One, it can kill people." Morro repeated.
"Two, it's a spider." Lloyd repeated while helping Jay up.
"Makes sense that there's a dead body in a spider web here." Nya said. The Ninja kept going.
There it is. The nest." Lloyd pointed to a dip in the ground and then an entrance to a cave.
"Destination reached." Morro stopped before a cliff. The others joinned him.
"In and out. I'll be quick." Morro sighed, staring into the dark cave entry. Lloyd slolwy moved his hand to Morro.
"No you won't. Because I'm going." Jay placed his hand on Morro's shoulder. Lloyd withdrawed.
"What?" You're going?" Nya asked.
"It might be best for me to go... I'm a ghost...." Cole suggested.
"I made a mistake. Zane and Kai are gone, it's my fault, this is my chance to fix it!" Jay gripped his thermos is determination.
"No, Jay I can--" Morro was stopped.
"I'm going." Jay said.
"He wants to do it. Don't think we can change his mind." Lloyd told Morro.
"Besides, Morro." Jay said, turning to the dip.
"I don't need a magic tea link to know you don't want to go in a cave."
He used Airjitzu to make his way down easily amd approached the cave.
"Ehhh, can't say I'm not scared." Jay took a deep breath as he tensed up.
"Ugh. Ew." Jay said, looking at the mess of a cave.
"Here, Tiger Widow. Hahaha. I've come to ask nicely for your venom. Haha. I like tigers. Are you a little tiger? Or just a big scaredy cat? Hahaha...." Jay said, fear shaking in his voice.

Jay turned around at the sound of a screech. A giant spider. The Tiger Widow isn't just a spider. But a really big spider.
"Aah! It's so big! How do I get venom when his fangs only come out when he tries to bite me!?" Jay's shouted.
"Keep it in one spot?" Cole suggested.
"HOW THE HECK AM I GONNA DO THAT?!"
"We should not have let him go there alone." Nya said.
"Sky Pirates!" Cole pointed up to the flying ships.
"Take cover!" Lloyd shouted. The Ninja dove into a bush as Dogshank threw a bomb at them.
"Argh!" Morro shouted, he got caught un the blast and flew back, hitting a tree.
"AAAAHH I HATE THIS LINK." Lloyd shouted, running after Morro.
"Finally, we're alone." Nadakhan appeared behind Nya. She struck first, trying to get the kick on him. But no matter where Nya would try to fight, Nadakhan poofed behind her, just avoiding Nya's attacks.
"Delara was filled with fire too. When this is all over, you will be mine." Nadakhan said.
Nya bent over, he hand on the ground as she caught her breath.
"Not fire, four arms." Nya said.
"Don't ever forget, I'm a tall glass of water!" She shouted, thrusting her arms forwards to blast water at Nadakhan.
Jay ran around, trying to get away from the spider but ut's legs was always in the way.
"Ugh, disgusting! This is not okay!" Jay shouted, the spider towered over him. Jay grabbed a convenient plank of wood and put it between him and the Tiger Widow. It's fangs were left open in the planks.
"I see the fangs!" Jay shouted.
"Then hurry up and get the venom!" Lloyd shouted.
"Right, right yeah!" Jay ran away from the screeching spider. Jay zapped it eith his lightning and the Tiger Widow shreeked.
"Hahaha! You don't like that, do you?" Jay taunted.
"You good?" Lloyd asked, propping up Morro.
"Yeah, you?" Morro asked.
"You go hit."
"We share pain."
"Okay, yeah it hurt." Lloyd sighed.
"Should we go help Jay?" Morro asked. Lloyd ducked from another explosion.
"Uh, I think I'm gonna not get blown up and stop that." Lloyd pointed up.
"No, we stay here. We fight better together now anyways." Morro said.
"Got it. Cole! You go after that plane thing!" Lloyd shouted. The ghost nodded. Cole jumped up and summoned his dragon. He trailed the small ship and Dogshank jumped off the anchor to where Nya was.
"Cute haircut. But you could use a trim." She threw her spiked ball and chain towards Nya, the Water Ninja just dodging it at it got lodged in a tree.
"Why is it some girls never get along? Can't we break that stereotype?" Nya shouted, running in. He jumped on the chain and ran towards Dogshank but the muscular lady threw Nya into a spider web. Dogshank threw her weapon to get Nya out.
"You freed me?" Nya asked, confused.
"We fight like girls, not like cheaters. Let's see what else you've got." Dogshank said.
Nya jumped over Dogshank, rebounding off the tree and kicked her in the face. Not too far off, Morro and Lloyd were faced with Nadakhan.
"Here we go." Morro said.
"Take deep breaths." Lloyd said. Lloyd ran forwards, trying to get Nadakhan who apparated behind him. Morro charged and jumped up to kick, Nadakhan also disappearing behind Morro.
Lloyd went towards Nadakhan, grabbing Morro hands and throwing Morro at the Djin. Nadakhan poofed away just for Morro to pass. Lloyd punched right after and hit Nadakhan back for Morro to kick him too then Nadakhan left.
"We got a hit." Lloyd said.
"DUDE, WE JUST HIT HIM!" Lloyd shouted.
"Sh-sh-sh!! Stay on guard!" Morro said to his brother.
Jay was cornered but the plan was still keeping the Tiger Widow at bay. At the venom dripped down the fangs, Jay opened his canteen and got some to spare.
"YES!" Jay slid under the spider and booked his way out of the cave.
"I got it! I actually got it!" Jay waved his container in the air.
"Get the venom!" Nadakhan growled.
"Until next time." Dogshank said to Nya.
"Next time, I won't play so nice!" Nya declared.
"Then it's a play date."
Cole dropped down to the ground and started to run. Nya didn't look where she was going and ran through Cole.
"Uh..." Nya said, Cole flipped his hood off.
"AAAAAAAAHHHHHH!" Jay shouted, the spider chasing him.
"Protect Jay!" Lloyd said, running up with Morro.
"That's one big spider." Cole said, slowly starting his run. Morro grabbed Jay's hand and pulled him along.
"Hurry!" Lloyd shouted. They started to run across the bridge, Jay the last in line.
"The bridge isn't strong enough. Hold on!" Lloyd shouted.
The bridge snapped and the Ninja fell, Nya at the top, then Lloyd and Morro then Cole.
"ARGH, I FEEL LIKE I'M HOLDING NOTHING AND IT'S STRANGE." Morro shouted.
"WELL, I'M HOLDING ON, OKAY?" Cole shouted, holding onto Morro and Jay as he hung off the edge.
"Aah! It had to get worse!!" Jay exclaimed.
"Getting closer!" Nya looked down at the Tiger Widow climbing towards the Ninja.
"Really? I never knew I needed glasses!" Morro shouted, clearlt agitated. Jay fought to keep the Tiger Widow off him.
"You are certainly in a precarious position." Nadakan appeared before Jay.
"Time is running out, but you have one wish left. You can wish it all--"
"Blah, blah, blah. You think I'm thick enough to fall for that trick? No way!" Jay shouted.
"I'd rather be eaten by a spider than listen to your beguiling voice." Jay glared at Nadakhan.
"Then have it your way." Nadakhan made Jay let go.
"No!" Jay shouted.
"Jay!" The Ninja yelled. The spider dropped dead.
Nadakhan grabbed Jay to hold him in the air and grabbed the canteen he held.
"Now say goodbye to the only thing that can stop me." Nadakhan poured out the contents to spill on the ground below.
"No! No, no, no! No." Jay shouted.
"And say goodbye to your friend." Nadakhan disappeared with Jay.
"I'll be back for the rest of you. And since you can't get off the island, I'll know exactly where to find you." Nadakhan laughed, flying off with Jay in his custody.
"Should we fly after them?" Cole asked.
"No. Save your strength." Nya said. Cole slightly levitated to get on solid ground. Morro blasted wind to get up, pulling Lloyd with him and Nya climbed up.
"He got Jay and got rid of the venom!" Nya exclaimed, taking deep breaths.
"Yeah." Morro said.
"Good thing we have this." Morro lifted the canteen he said.
"You mean--" Cole started.
"Jay and I switched canteens when I pulled him." Morro explained.
"He have the venom!" Lloyd exclaimed.
"And better yet, they don't know we have it." Nya said.
"Great. We have it... So... Can I pass out?" Morro asked.
"No." Lloyd said.
"Okay then, I'm just gonna lie down." Morro said.
"Same." Cole laid down.
"Tomorrow, we get Jay back. And those pirates are going to pay." Nya said.

The Hand of Sigmar. A Warhammer Fiction.

When confronted about his presence he claims to be led by the God-King Sigmar, but with the name of the Protector of Mankind come his responsiblities. Soon Adebar finds himself tasked with ridding a town of a mad killer, and settling some lethal family quarrels.Word from the AuthorGreetings! The Hand of Sigmar plays out in the much beloved Warhammer Fantasy setting (owned, of course, by Games Workshop). Do not fret, however, as I've made it a point to make the story digestible even to the uninitiated, and maybe even be a good introduction to the setting. This work will be shorter overall, partly because its born out of a sudden passion, partly because I thought I'd try my hand at a more comfortable story than the grim darkness of the 41st Millenium (psychotic murderer and fraudulent holyman included). Depending on how this does and my time allows more adventures may be coming. While I cannot claim the places, concepts and gods etc. mentioned within as my own, the story and all characters flowed from my own fingers.

First and foremost, I must apologize as this story is currently on an indefinite hiatus. School, my main project, and writer's block have gotten in the way. Then you've come to the right place! This is honestly just something I'm writing for fun and figured I'd publish while I'm working on my main project, but I always appreciate constructive criticism so I can improve.
