《Ghost Friend | Ninjago × Reader ✔️》Chapter 16

"It's Anima.... right?"
I waited for him to answer, he didn't, he just stared at me. And I heard a voice from behind.
"Smart girl."
I shot the arrow without thinking, it passed through Anima without causing any damage. She laughed at that.
Morro wasn't staring at me anymore, he was looking away.
Anima spoke "that's right, I was the one behind all of this, I was the one who convinced Morro to turn against your old sensei."
I looked at Morro again, he tightened his fists and spoke to Anima with anger "I'm done, I don't want to listen to you anymore!"
"We had an agreement-"
"I don't care anymore! All you want is for the Preeminent to be summoned! You didn't even keep your promise, you were just using me."
The boys and I looked at each other in confusion.
I honestly felt sorry for Morro, I made my bow disappear and walked to him.
"You.. Weren't actually evil, right?"
"Kind of, but now.. I changed my mind since I can't take it anymore," he looked into my eyes "I'm sorry... Is there any way I can make this up to you?"
I looked at the guys, Anima was watching us without saying anything, probably thinking it was some sort of movie.
"There is," I said calmly.
"What is it? I will do anything."
"You would join us and save the world from this fool then," I said, pointing at Anima who was shocked that I called her a fool.
Morro took a few seconds then replied with a smile "all right."
"Oh my god, that's so beautiful," Anima sarcastically said and clapped her hands slowly "are you two done?"
"Damn you, Anima," I said.
Anima changed something in her ghost form and all of the sudden she had legs unlike her old genie look.

"I want to stay and watch you guys being dramatic but I have a crystal to find," she disappeared and appeared behind Morro.
"I think this is mine," she said and took the sword of sanctuary and disappeared again.
"Where did she go?!" Jay asked.
"Quick! We have to find the realm crystal!" Kai ordered and we started running.
I asked "Where are we even going?"
" 'To move forward, don't look ahead'," Cole said.
"Wha- aAA!" Jay tripped. We stopped to wait for him.
"Don't look ahead.. Look below!" he said. There was a light coming from under the rocks.
"There's a light!" Kai said.
"I think everyone can see that, Kai."
"Shut up Y/n, it's not the time for sarcasm," Kai said with a poker face.
Lloyd told us to stay back. We did and he shot a ball of energy at the ground making us fall into the hole he made.
We stopped ourselves from hitting the ground by our our powers.
Jay spotted something "what's that?"
Morro got close "it's the First Spinjitzu Master."
"The realm crystal," Zane said and grabbed it.
"How does it work-?"
Lloyd was cut off by my screaming.
"Y/n!" they all yelled.
"How about you give me the crystal? Or say goodbye to your dear friend over here," Anima threatened and held a knife near my throat.
I felt weak all of the sudden, like if my powers were slipping away.
The guys must have felt it too since they looked at their hands and tried to do anything with their powers, failing miserably.
"So? Will you give me the crystal?"
The guys exchanged worried looks, I heard Jay whisper - since he's always too loud - "our powers are gone..."

"Mine isn't," Cole said.
"She can't take powers from ghosts, that's beyond her powers," Morro said and added "I think I have an idea, give me the crystal."
Kai who was holding the crystal took a step back "what? How do we know that you won't run away with it?"
Anima reminded "I'm still waiting~"
"Let us think!" Lloyd yelled at her.
Anima whispered to me "this kid has an attitude."
Morro responded to Kai "Y/n is my friend too and I want to save her like every one of you."
And future wife- okay I'll stop thinking about the future reflection.
Kai hesitated and gave him the crystal.
Morro spoke to Anima "you want this? Go and get it then!" he used his wind power to throw the crystal far away into the water.
"No!!" Anima let go of me and I fell in the water screaming.
The others shouted my name. I got to the surface of the water and felt my powers coming back.
The problem? I was going to fall because I couldn't focus on flying.
"Oh no," I muttered and closed my eyes...
... I didn't fall, I felt someone grabbing me out of the water.
"Are you okay?" Lloyd asked while I was couching and catching my breaths.
"I'm okay," I hardly managed to say.
Morro was standing really close to the water trying to get the falling crystal using his element.
The crystal flew to him but before he could take it, Anima snatched it "thanks," and disappeared.
"Damn it! I was close!" Morro yelled and tried to hit his head with the wall, he ended up accidentally passing through it because he was a ghost.
"It's okay, we'll get it back," I said, got up and walked to him "now get away from the water."
He walked away from the water and we all got out from the cave.
I saw the bounty in the ocean with Nya and my aunt waving at us from it.
I glanced back at the guys and saw them staring - kind of glaring - at Morro.
"What?" I asked.
"Someone has to make an explanation," Cole said.
Lloyd added "and a proper apology."
"Oh come on, leave that for later," I tried to calm them down.
Jay spoke "we still can't trust him."
I stood near Morro "well, I trust him."
They all looked confused, even Morro for some reason.
"You trust me? After all of this?" Morro asked.
Well boy we'll get married and I know for sure that marriage wouldn't happen if you betrayed us.
That's what I thought, but what I said was "I just have a feeling you won't betray us."
He smiled at me "why are you so nice?"
"We still haven't answered that ourselves," Zane said.
I told them "can you all forgive him, please?"
They nodded, still kind of angry at him. Jay spoke "you know what? You'd be a terrible lawyer."
"You said WHAT?!"
They all started laughing and I joined in.
Now that Morro is on our side, stopping Anima from summoning the Preeminent will be easier....
Or that's what I thought.

What do you think will happen next in the story?
By the way, Anima is also an elemental master, her powers are like Skylor but Anima can make them disappear them not copy them, she also can't use her victim's powers, she just makes it disappear for a period of time.

A Step Behind Death
Please share your thoughts about the story! Feedback and criticism is welcome, it'll help me improve my writing. "The final year of high school is the most difficult." This statement has never been truer for Damis, a student attending one of the many schools in the City of Sundridge. He never wanted anything more than to live a peaceful life, going so far as to avoid having large group of friends, indulging in dragged out conversations, or being involved in any other activity that requires him to invest a large amount of effort to accomplish. Instead, he poured all of his efforts into studying, dwelling in his internal monologues, and complaining about the things that annoy him to his one and only friend, Noah. Before long, he ended up as one of the best students in his class. As far as he was concerned, he was content with how he lived. But, after a confrontation with an eccentric girl named May, one of his classmates since the first year of high school, things have suddenly gotten out of hand. And as a result, his life became a lot more hectic than it used to be. Bound by a deal he could not refuse, his life as May's assistant began. At this rate, can he still spend the final days of his high school life in peace? Welcome to the life of Damis, the boy who's always A Step Behind Death. The cover art is made by friend of mine. I plan on making this novel into a webtoon once it becomes the best it can be. English isn't my first language, so expect some grammar bumps along the way.
