Down in the museum, Krux tried to keep his secret as Kai wandered around.
"Master Wu taught us that any problem can be solved. It just takes thought and time." Kai placed his hand on his chin.
"I am quite very certain there is nothing to interest you here." Saunders said.
"Hm, I don't know. I mean, what if this guy was related to the snakes we fought?" Kai asked.
"Not likely. And really, I doubt you'll find anything. Our collection is mostly harmless artifacts."
"Hmm. Maybe. But you never know what might open the door to some secret information." Kai sat on a chair, unexpectedly opening the secret door, but Kai's a bit dumb.
"Something I'm missing. Like, you know the expression, one can't see the forest for the trees?" Kai waved his hand in the air.
"You said you were taking care of this." Acronix whispered angrily.
"Something that's right in front of me." Kai continued.
"I am taking care of this." Krux gritted through his teeth.
"No, I am!" Acronix grabbed the time blade but Kai stood up, closing the door.
"Now, really, I must insist you to go home. It is after closing time." Saunders said.
"Yeah, I guess you're right. It was a longshot, anyway. Wait a minute." Kai gasped.
"That's it! The helmet! It's just like the one they were wearing." Kai ran to the portrait of the Time Twin battle.
"But wait, Acronix is gone and Master Wu said Krux was lost in time forever. So that means Krux must still be around somewhere!" Kai concluded.
"Don't be ridiculous. I have told you, they are myth." The fake mustache fell off.
"What is the--Dr. Saunders! You. You're Krux! Which means Master Wu was wrong! You weren't lost in time!" Kai shouted.
"No, no, no, no, no, no. That is positively... correct. I've been hiding here, right under his nose for YEARS!" Krux revealled himself.
"I knew I'd seen that helmet before!" Kai exclaimed.
"Well, aren't you clever? Such a smart little ninja." Krux said.
. . .
Nya, Jay and Cole arrived in the city to see the Vermillion attacking.
"Uh, guys, look who's back." Cole pointed.
"Oh, now what are they up to?" Nya exclaimed.
"They're either kidnapping more people or organizing a parade." Cole said.
"Jay! Hurry up and call the temple already to get backup! I'm going to the museum." Nya said.
. . .
"Wait, wait. So if he doesn't kn-- wh- ho--" Lloyd has been pacing around the room for a long time.
"What do you mean??" Lloyd asked. Morro pushed Lloyd out of the room and shut the door behind them.
"One, stop shouting, two I've explained this ten times already, three how many times am I gonna have to list things?" Morro said.
"My father has foreseen multiple events. However, he doesn't always know how to resolve problems." Morro said.
"What am I supposed to do?!" Lloyd exclaimed.
"Calm down!" Morro exclaimed. Lloyd's phone rung. He answered it.

"LLOYD, PUT ME ON SPEAKER!!" Jay shouted.
"I don't think he needs to be put on speaker, he's loud enough." Morro said. Lloyd held the phone away from his ear and put it on speaker.
"The city's under attack!" Jay said.
"Backup please?" Jay asked.
"Alright, we got the message." Lloyd hung up.
"Let's go." Morro said.
"I- I don't know--" Lloyd said.
"They need out help." Morro said.
"But I feel like I need to be here with Master Wu." Lloyd said.
"You're mom can look after him, let's go." Morro said.
"I can't!" Lloyd said.
"You can't?" Morro asked.
"Or you can't decide? Figure it out quickly." Morro extended his staff and left Lloyd alone in the hall.
. . .
Kai jumped to attack.
"Ninja-go!!" Kai shouted, spinning around. He came to a stop after pushing Krux a bit away.
"I almost forgot that Wu taught you Spinjitzu." Krux said.
"Yeah, but I came up with this one all on my own." Kai jumpes onto a statue that was hiding the spy scope.
"I knew I should have dealt with him when I had a chance." Acronix cursed. He tried to exit the room but the Sarcophagus fell over and opened up, revealing Borg inside.
"Cyrus Borg! So you kidnapped him!" Kai shouted.
"I prefer the term acquired." Krux said.
"That means you took out Zane too." Kai pointed.
"Nothing is getting by you. Today is your day. Too bad it's your last. You and I are nearly an equal match, but let's see how you do against both Hands of Time! Brother!" Krux called. "Brother?"
"Come on!" Acronix doesn't know how to push an object out of the way.
. . .
"Looks like somebody wants to play. Wish we had the rest of the team here to help." Jay said, running to the front line.
"Well, say hello to our newest members. Lefty and Righty." Cole held up his fists. Cole used his earth punch but it only caused havock for the two boys.
"Oops. Wow, if I'm not more careful, I can take all of us out." Cole said.
"Lefty, Righty, nice to meet you. Also, do better!" Jay shouted to Cole's hands.
"Okay, okay." Cole winded his arm up and threw himself forwards. Cole crashed into a car.
"Cole, seriously!? Watch where you're throwing those things!" Jay shouted.
"It's out of my hands! Aah!" Cole cried.
"It is your hands!" Jay yelled.
"I'm still trying to get used to them." Cole said.
"Okay. How about getting used to them in their direction?" Jay asked. Cole launched Jay into a dumpster. Oh my.
The Vermillion begane to persue Cole.
"Fools! Did you forget your mission? We need the people. Forget fighting the ninja." Machia shouted.
"And what might you need them for, If I ask?" Morro dropped down and swung his staff, making Machia jump back.
"Commander Machia, they are warriors. Fighting is what they do." Blunck said.

"Then fight that Ninja to get them out of my way!" Machia shouted. The Vermillion closed in.
"Commander? Interesting." Morro blasted two away. A baracade of soldiers grabbed Morro and then threw him, making Morro crash into a street light.
"Ah-ow."
"There is much to follow phase two. Into the sewers." Machia said. They forced the hostages down.
"Multi stage plan?" Morro opened his eyes after his crash.
"Hurry, Jay. Get out of there." Cole pulled Jay out.
"Just don't hurt me." Jay said.
"Uh, hey. What?" Cole looked around.
"Streelights. Hostages. Snakes. I'm out." Morro got up and started to walk away.
"Huh???? Wait Morro! We just found something out!" Cole exclaimed.
"What?" Morro asked.
"Krux? Yeah, him. He's Dr. Saunders!" Jay shouted.
Morro looked back at Jay to tell if he was serious. He grabbed his staff and extended it then rushed off.
"Oh. Okay." Cole said.
. . .
Nya openes the doors to the mesuem.
"Snakes. Why am I not surprised?" She saw small red ones crawling around. Nya jumped up and grabbed onto the ledge of the second floor balconey and made her way across the room. The snakes took control of thick samurai armour and hit Nya to the ground.
Okay, that surprised me." Nya said. She made the armour slip. Then, she blasted it out if the museum doors.
"Stay! No more surprises." Nya ran fursther into the building.
"Is that all you've got? Your parents would be very disappointed!" Krux taunted as he pushed Kai back.
"Don't you ever mention my parents. Aah!" Kai jumped forwards only to be knocked back.
"Wu may have been a good teacher, but he's not here to help you now." Krux threw Borg's wheelchair at Kai.
"Don't you mention Wu either." Kai said, flipping up onto a statue.
"Oh, ninja, such misplaced loyalty." Krux said.
Kai charged forwards on the wheelchair. Krux kicked him back. Kai jumped off by the picture of his parents.
"My parents helped Wu and Garmadon defeat you once. And I will do it again." Kai declared.
"Is that what you think?" Krux laughed.
"That's what I know. Master Wu told me!" Kai pulled out his sword.
"But you were not there, young ninja. I was, your parents were, and Wu." Krux grabbed a sword from a display.
"He told you a lie. Your parents were not who you think they are. They didn't fight against us. They fought with us!" Krux pushed Kai back.
"What? It can't be. They were heroes!" Kai exclaimed.
"True, they were heroes. But heroes for our side." Krux said.
"I don't believe you. Master Wu would never lie!" Kai shouted.
"Surely you can see why he didn't want you to know the truth. Your parents were traitors!" Krux shouted.
"No!" Kai ran. He was blinded by anger and was easily tripped.
"Oh, Kai, you've let your emotions get the best of you. The truth hurts, doesn't it?"
"Not as much as this will!" Kai raised his sword. Acronix finally moved the sarcophagus.
"Ugh. Sorry I'm late." Acronix said.
"Acronix!" Kai shouted.
"Ah, yes. You've met my twin brother." Krux said.
"You know, for twins, one of you looks much older." Kai said.
He was born three minutes earlier." Acronix said.
"Time waits for no one, young ninja." Krux said.
"But it's time out--" Acronix was sprayed with water.
"Aw, gee. What a mess. And to think we just cleaned up the museum." Nya said.
"Nya! Good to see you, sis." Kai sighed.
"Back at you, bro. Now let's teach these two a lesson in sibling rivalry." Nya joined Kai. Nya took on Krux as Kai fought Acronix. Borg, who was kinda just on the ground, inched his way to the Time Blade Acromix dropped.
"They are good." Acronix admitted. Nya and Kai went back to back.
"Switch?" Kai asked.
"He's all yours." Nya said, the two roatating to fight new opponents.
"But we are better, brother." Krux said. Kai jumped up to land a blow. Krux moved out of the way but Kai countered by swinging up eith a flaming fist. Nya kept taking steps forwards with every strike she threw, making Acronix block more and more. The four roated around, constatnly switching opponents.
"I could probably use a hand, brother." Nya said.
"I'm here for you, sister." Kai said. Kai threw Nya upwards, landing a flying kick on Krux.
"Hahaha! Looks like we have the upper hand!" Kai exclaimed.
Acronix saw Borg teying to reach the time blade. He intercepted it.
"The Time Blade. Don't let him--" Nya jumped back.
"Until next time." Acronix said, disappearing with Krux and Borg.
"No! We can't let him--" they were gone.
"--use it." Kai sighed.
Morro bursted into the museun and slid into the room.
"Too late. They're gone." Nya said.
"And so is Borg." He added.
"Tch!" Morro exclaimed, hitting the wall with his fist.
"Vanished. Before our eyes." Kai picked up the samurai helmet that brought him here in the first place.
. . .
"So it looks like Acronix and Krux are working with those Samurai snakes." Nya said as they all regroupped in the Samurai X cave except Lloyd.
"Yeah, but why are they kidnapping all of Ninjago's builders?" Jay asked.
"There is still way too much we don't know here." Cole said.
"Well, if they weren't said their destination loudly, I wouldn't know. Thats only one thing checked off our list. Much more to solve." Morro crossed his arms.
"Like, was Krux lying, or are my parents really...traitors?" Kai whispered to himself.
"You seem lost in another place...or time. What is it?" Nya asked.
"Uh, what if everything you believed in turned out to be a lie?" Kai asked.
"What?"
"I--"
"Hey, he's rebooting!" Cole exclaimed, pointing to Zane.
"Four, seven, two, one...nine." Zane uttered.
What.

AN ILLUSTRATED NOVEL • UPDATES TUESDAY AND FRIDAY In a time before living memory, the King Dragon of the Void watched the world and realized there was a crack. He realized that humanity was destroying the rock upon which they lived; they leaked life’s code into the churning chaos. At first the change was imperceptible: nanites overtook microorganisms, bacteria, viruses, amoebas. Insects became increasingly inorganic; birds and lizards followed soon after. Even humans were infected by their own advances, cell by cell, till there was not a person left on earth who wasn’t at least part synthetic, the product of a prior generation’s carelessness. The world’s population was ravaged by mechanical viruses with no vaccines; they were mercilessly overtaken by bacteria that knew no death. Soon, most of the planet was empty and only a handful remained who remembered the hedonist realm they came from; only a few were left who remembered what the world looked like when their buildings touched the sky. The King Dragon of the Void watched the rock turn. He watched humans cower as the Old World fell down around them; watched their great monuments crumble into dusty ruins; watched their codes become precious, ancient gem memories forged under the crushing pressure of so many fallen stones. The world has spun many times around the sun since chaos swallowed man whole. It is a simpler time than the one that died out, but the people now are not immune to the folly of the people before. There is old code everywhere: in the water, in the air, in the trees. The heart of man has been replaced by power cores, many of which are hard-coded with preternatural abilities—when they die, an esoteric mountain sect collects their cores and stores them in their hollow mountain home to preserve the sanctity and dignity of human death. They’ve learned to harness artifacts of the old world, gemstones full of codes their nanite infused bodies can parse as spells imbuing their users with great power; they inlay them into their bodies, into their skins, connected to their cores by copper conduit and gold tracers; they dress themselves in tattoos to advertise their prowess; they battle for relics in arenas, fight for them in the open world wherever they are found. The King Dragon of the Void watches the rock turn and wonders: when will this hunger finally make the rock stop spinning? WELCOME TO FANXING CITY … Twenty-five years ago, Fanxing City and the surrounding lands were commanded by the mad King Zao Beiguan. For many years, the King hoarded wealth, artifacts, food; he demanded tribute from a people already taxed to the edges of their existence and expected they be happy with their circumstances. Noncompliance was often punished harshly, bodies displayed proudly on Fanxing’s streets as a warning, from the city gates to the Zao palace’s golden doors. The youths of several prominent clans came together to overthrow the tyrant and made names for themselves as legendary heroes across the land: Tian, Ren, Feng, Gui, Ma, and Zhenxi. Even wanderers from the Luanshi sect descended from Yunji mountain to aid the rebellion. When the dust settled after three years, Tian Yunyong ascended the throne of Fanxing and swore to honour his slain father’s memory, and has maintained Fanxing’s peace with generosity and mercy where fear and cruelty once reigned.
