On the Bounty, Nya went to her control panel and clicked the buttons.
"These energy readings are off the charts. Where is it coming from?" Nya asked.
"I'm trying to pinpoint the location." Zane said.
"How about pinpointing the location of the off button?!" Jay shouted.
"These alarms are giving me a..." Kai shut the alarms off.
"headache!" Jay exclaimed.
"Thank you." Morro added, lowering his hands.
"Okay, listen up. We ran through the museum doors at 6:00 pm. We disappeared and came here right after, but the clock said 6:01." Morro said.
"And there is a really easy explanation to why this happened." Morro said.
"How?" Cole asked.
"The displacement we experienced was not caused by just any normal energy. It was temporal energy." Zane chimed in.
"Oh, well, temporal energy. Of course. Everyone knows that's, um...powerful." Jay said.
"You have no idea what temporal means, do you?" Kai asked.
"I do not." Jay said.
"That's fine. Lloyd didn't know what cliché meant." Morro said.
"Hey!" Lloyd exclaimed.
"At least I know what temporal means. Time." Lloyd said.
"Precisely. Whatever created that displacement can warp the very fabric of space-time." Zane said.
"Which is powerful, right?" Jay asked.
"Rules don't apply to this, so yeah." Morro ssid.
"Told you it was powerful." Jay crossed his arms.
. . .
With this new blade in his hands, Acronix was getting the upper hand, forcing Wu to back up with every step.
"That's right, flee, Master Wu!" Acronix shouted. They locked weapons. Wu pulled his staff back and then slashed in the air, pushing Acronix back.
"Master. Ha. To think my brother and I ever took orders from you!" Acronix jumped up and ran.
"Weak! Afraid! Lacking any ambition!" Acronix shouted.
"Your only ambition was to rule." Wu exclaimed.
"Because Krux and I deserved to rule!" Acronix shouted.
"Do you recall what we said, on this very ground, 14 years ago?"
"Control time, control everything." Wu recalled.
"Excellent memory, old man. And look who controls time again." Acronix looked at the Time Blade.
"Just need a moment for my Time Blade to recharge." He pushed forwards.
The fighting resumed, with Wu knocking Acronix back into a post, debris falling on top of him. Acronix looked around the scene.
"Gone?" There was no one around. He got up and cautiously walked around.
"Come on out old man! This battle will keep going until there is a victor! And when I win, I will have gone up to my true potential!" Acronix shouted.
"Unlike your student, who ended up on the wrong side of destiny!"
Wu jumped out and slashed his staff down.
"His destiny is his own to write! It ends now, Acronix." Wu said.
"It certainly does." Acronix raised his blade.
As Wu was about to strike, Acronix quickly disappeared and reappeared behind Wu as he swung at the previous spot.
"No, no, no, I'm not there now." Acronix kicked Wu down.
"That's where I was then."
Wu rolled over again to avoid his strike and once more, kicked Acronix into a post. Wu was about to jab him again, but Acronix moved out of the way as the support broke, sending the main part of the roof falling onto Wu, knocking him down. Wu struggled to get out of the rubble and Acronix reached the high ground.
"You know what that means. I'll see you in just--" Acronix disappeared.

"A moment!" He punched as he reappeared behind Wu. The first blocked, the second sent Wu flying back, green energy surrounding his body.
"Control time, control everything!" Acronix shouted.
. . .
"Okay, yes, there was a little hiccup in time. But just one. I'm sure it was nothing. They probably happen all the time, you know?" Jay paced around the bridge as Zane was plugged into the computer.
"Can we go home now?" He asked.
"Yeah, sure. Happened all the time, 14 years ago." Morro leaned on the counter.
"Seriously, we just cleaned up an entire museum! Aren't you guys tired?" Jay asked.
"Well..." Zane started.
"Well?" Nya asked.
"I've located the surge's epicentre." Pixal said.
"Where, Pixal?" Zane asked. The computer screen pulled up an image of the monastery before it was burnt down.
"The old monastery." Pixal said.
"Yeah, of course it is." Morro scowled.
"The monastery? That place totally burned down. Why would anyone or anything be up there?" Cole asked.
"We should find out." Lloyd said.
"Oh, why? Cole's right, there's no reason for anyone to be up at the monastery. Zane's probably malfunctioning." Jay said.
"Self-diagnostic indicates negative." Zane said. Jay punched his arm.
"How about now?"
"No."
"We are going there. Right now. That place always has a habit of attracting threats." Morro said.
"I agree. We should go. Where there's smoke, there's usually fire." Kai said.
"And where there's massive energy displacement, there's usually trouble." Nya shrugged.
"Well, maybe it's, like, you know, a harmless massive energy displacement." Jay chuckled.
"Come on. Seriously, I'm exhausted. We did our good deed for the day." Jay complained.
"Wait. Master Wu said he was going to the monastery. Something about 'finishing an old fight.' He said this was something he should do alone." Lloyd recalled.
"Oh, come on." Morro hit his head.
"Ow." Lloyd said.
"Sorry."
"We need to leave. Now." Morro said. Jay sighed.
"What are you waiting for? Get us to the monastery!" Jay shouted.
The Ninja all rushed to their stations. Nya and Zane preppeed the ship's engines while Kai, Cole and Lloyd set the other primary stuff up lile the course and levels. Morro ran onto the deck and blew the sails open so they could get a little more speed. The Bounty has taken off.
. . .
The green energy wrapped around Wu and disappeared.
"Ouch. That last hit hurt, didn't it?" Acronix asked, approaching.
"The blade gives it a little extra kick. I think I'm going to call that one the 'Time Punch.' And its effects are devastating." Acronix smirked from under his mask and hood.
"I...I made a mistake." Wu said.
"Yes, you did. You never should have challenged me. Not 14 years ago, not today. Don't worry, I can be merciful. I figure one more charge, one more Time Punch, and it'll all be over fast." Acronix pointed the blade at Wu.
"Oh, how I wish my brother were here to see this." He said.
"Me too. Ninja-go!!" Wu used his spinjitzu, knocking Acronix back, onto the roof and he dropped the Time Blade, getting caught between some support beams. Before Acronix could retrieve it, Wu charges at him but Acronix threw him over his back, letting him fall before Wu grabbed hold of a tree branch, losing his staff in the process. Acronix looked down, holding the retrieved Time Blade.
"Hm! You know what they say. If the Time Punch doesn't get you, the fall will. Actually, no one says that. But they should. Farewell." Acronix waved.

"I'd like to stay to the end, but I have somewhere to be." He jumped off the roof and the Bounty approached.
"I don't believe it. The legendary Destiny's Bounty. But what is a two-hundred-year-old flying pirate ship doing here? Now? This has been a strange day." Acronix said.
"Hey. Has anyone seen Master Wu?" Lloyd looked over the ledge.
"Hm. I only see that guy." Jay pointed.
"Who's that?" Cole asked, looking down.
"Imma go down there." Jay said.
"Jay, no!" Nya exclaimed.
"We don't know what the situation is--"
In a breeze of wind, Morro flipped his hood on and jumped down. He slowed his fall enough but still made a heavy landing. The others leaned over the edge, anxious for Morro.
"He's... Angry." Lloyd said.
"Where is Wu." The Sage Ninja said.
"A ninja? In this day? By now, I would thought of them to be extinct!" Acronix exclaimed, waving his hands. Morro's hands made fists.
"Tell me where he is." Morro said.
"Whatever are you talking about? Now leave before I decide that the peace between us has passed." Acronix warned this masked ninja.
"The peace between us passed a long time ago." Morro said.
"TELL ME WHERE WU IS, ACRONIX!!" Morro shouted. As the name of the time user was spoken, a large wave of wind flew over the monastery from where Morro stood, making Acronix stumble a bit.
"Acronix?" Kai said.
"Like the guy in the painting?" He asked.
"But Morro was never there when we figured it out." Cole said.
"Oh don't tell me, he already knew?!"
"But shouldn't he be an old man? Like what? Acronix is from 13 to 15 years ago?" Lloyd asked.
"How is he still young?" Kai asked.
"What if he... Time traveled?" Nya suggested.
Acronix caught his footing.
"Ah... The little wind." Acronix said.
"You're grown up. I'm surprised that the old fool hasn't led you to his death yet."
"Guys, come on!" Lloyd exclaimed.
"You really think you can fight me?!" Acronix shouted. The anchor of the Bounty dropped down. Morro readied his stance. The Ninja all dropped down and took their stances.
"I'm not a child. And we're not a force you want to mess with." Morro said.
Acronix raised his blade and disappeared. Morro's eyes dilated and he pushed behind his team, extending his staff. To block Acronix who appeared behind the team. The others turned around. Acronix stepped back and kicked Morro to the ground.
"Did you see that?" Lloyd gripped his stomach. Jay pulled out his nunchucks and readied.for defence.
"It's like--"
"He jumped forward in time!" Kai exclaimed.
"Yeah? Let's see him jump this!" Cole exclaimed, his arms glowing orange. Jay stepped back as Cole jumped forwards to use his earth punch. Acronix grabbed Cole's wrist and spun him around, sending Cole flying into the others.
"A whole team? Well, you've out done yourself, little wind!" Acronix exclaimed.
The Ninja regrouped.
"Ninja-go!!" They shouted, using their spinjitzu. Acromix used the Time Blade again. The Ninja all stumbled over each other.
"You only missed me by a few seconds." Acronix taunted.
"Argh! Hate that thing!!" Morro shouted.
"Sometimes I wish I was still Samurai X instead of a ninja." Nya held her head.
By the cliff, Wu was losing his grip. The Ninja had to get in the game soon or else.
"You're fast. But faster than this?" Kai asked, flaring up his hands. He shot fire but Acronix dodged it, the remains of the monastery burning up.
"Elemental Master of Fire. I've encountered one of you before." Acronix laughed.
"Huh? You met my father?" Kai lowered his hands.
Morro and Lloyd both punched Acronix back and readied their powers.
"Bet you haven't encountered us at our full!" Lloyd exclaimed.
Lloyd fired first, his blast just barely hitting Acronix. Morro jumped and kicked, sending a wave of wind sharply flying at Acronix while he stumbled from Lloyd's hit. Acronix used the Time Blade but not before Morro's wind hit him in the stomach.
The Ninja all looked around cautiously.
"There he is!" Nya pointed to the roof.
"Ninja...Come out and play." Acronix taunted.
"You love games, don't you, little wind?"
"I swear, I will make him shut up." Morro gripped his staff.
"Jay, Cole, Kai, Morro, we get Acronix. Zane, Nya, use your Elemental Powers to put out this fire." Lloyd exclaimed.
"Ninja...Come out and play." Acromix teased again.
"Hang on. Who put you in charge? Why can't I help with the flames?" Jay asked.
"You think lightning is better than water and ice for stopping flames?" Lloyd said.
"Good point. Let's go!" Jay exclaimed.
Cole jumped onto the roof.
"You got lucky last time." He kicked forwards. Cole rushed forwards but his hand got stuck between planks.
"Clumsy. Like a fawn standing on her new legs." Acronix said.
Jay, Kai and Lloyd jumped up.
"One!"
"Two!"
"Three!" They all shot their powers.
Acronis ran to the Ninja's right but was blown back by Morro.
"Four!" He exclaimed. Nya and Zane worked on the right side while the other four pushed Acronix back to the left.
"Yes. Keep moving him back. He's gonna have to surrender, or else the flames are gonna get him." Lloyd said. Cole freed himself and joined Morro on Acronix's level.
"Here's Acronix!"
Kai, Lloyd and Jay fired their powers. Acronix raised his blade and it seemed to repel the elements. Morro and Cole were being pushed back by a shock wave.
"It's gonna blow!" Kai exclaimed.
The energy blasted out, creating a shockwave, knocking everyone back. Acronnix traveled to the monastery steps and began his descent.
"Ah. Burned down again. Man, this place just cannot catch a break." Jay sighed, sitting up. Morro quickly got to his feet. Lloyd flipped off his hood.
"Neither did Acronix." Lloyd said. Morro shouted in frustration, the ground craking a bit underneath him and a powerful wind blasted over the monastery, putting out the flames.
"Well, that solves that problem." Cole said.
"I wouldn't want to face that guy again." Kai flipped off his hood, panting.
"No way. He moved at, like, the speed of time." Cole exclaimed, taking his hood off.
"Come on, guys, let's get back to the Bounty." Lloyd said.
"Stop, stop. Where's my father?" Morro took a deep breath. Lloyd gasped.
"We gotta find him. Spread out!" He exclaimed.
The Ninja ran in different directions to search. Cole ran along the cliff side and saw a branch break with Wu holding onto it.
"NO!!" Cole reached his hand and grabbed Wu, his arm glowing.
"Gotta...hang...on!" Cole exclaimed. He pulled Wu up.
"Barely made it." Cole sighed, his arm stopped glowing.
"Master, are you alright?" Zane asked.
"I-... fear not." Wu stood up.
"Why was Acronix here?" Nya asked.
"How did he do that?" Kai asked.
"Why were you fighting him?" Jay asked.
"There is much to tell you. And not much time." Wu replied.
"Why didn't you tell us?" Morro said, his tone dropping.
. . .
Dr. Saunders looked at his pocket watch as a man approached.
"Where have you been?" He asked. The man walked into the light, revealing it to be Acronix.
"Sorry I'm late. Ninja trouble." Acronix took off his hood.
"Things have changed since I was last in Ninjago."
Dr. Saunders pulled at his big moustache and removed it, it was a fake, which was covering a smaller moustache and he smiled. Acronix also smiled as Dr. Saunders removed his clothing, underneath, a similar uniform to Acronix's wear. They embraced for a moment.
"Indeed they have...brother." Krux said in a menacing voice.
. . .
Fear not for the future, weep not for the past.
