《A Walk With The Prince》Chapter 5 - There And Back Again - A journey's end

It was a long was back to the castle. You and ralsei stopped now and then to catch a breath. This was your fifth rest and you decided to light another fire but you were more keen eyed this time then before. As you sat by the fire, you looked at Ralsei intently, you felt a feeling you haven't felt before. After he healed you from certain death you wanted to give him more than just an honest "thank you" but were too hesitant and furthermore it wasn't really a good time to pour your heart out to him but now more then ever your heart was filled with an underlying knot that needs to be untied, you needed to say something to him. 'Ralsei' you spoke timidly. "Yes Y/N?" Ralsei spoke softly. 'There was something I wanted to tell you after you healed me but I thought it wasn't a good time and now I just want to give it off my chest.' 'The first time I saw you when Kris & Susie introduced me to you, I didn't think much of it, but months passed and then I started looking after you and all. I discovered a lot about you; how you bake, your magic and a whole lot more. I've even learnt about Darkeners as a whole.
Ralsei gave you a tender, loving smile as he swiftly moved over and held your palm, his hand was as soft as a warm blanket as it rested in yours. both you and Ralsei got up from the log and you and him locked eyes; his bright pink eyes shone in the glistening moonlight. "Ralsei... I think I need to repay you, give you something extraordinary for all the help you've giving me. "But.. but [Y/N], Darkeners are supposed to only serve Lightner's! " " I don't know how you can ever repay me!" He said as he gave a small chuckle. "But you're the lovely Prince Of Darkness!" you exclaimed you elegantly said as you gently graced his paw with a kiss, his eyes glinted in astonishment and his cheeks lit up like a bright peach. Both of you looked at each other attentively for a few seconds. You then felt Ralsei's long scarf softly creeping around your neck like a slithering snake as he slowly pulled you in. Your heart was racing as you felt the soft grace of his muzzle, his lips soft against yours as they locked. They then quickly parted and you took a slight step back as held gently held your face

"I've... never be kissed anyone before" you said, trembling. Soon you felt tears running down your bashful face, soft tears; tears of grateful joy. 'Y/N, are you crying?' Ralsei spoken. 'yes...' you said with an elegant smile upon your face. You suddenly hugged him, holding him tightly to your slim frame for a slight second or two. 'well, I think we should rest a bit, we've got a long road ahead of us until the castle' you said. So lying close to the cracking fire you held Ralsei dearly close to you warm body. You woke up with Ralsei still sleeping in your arms, you gently nudged him and he awoke. You then got up and had breakfast though it wasn't much; just a few pieces of left over cake. Soon you and Ralsei packed up the remaining equipment and headed back to the castle. Everything looked the same like it once was: same trees, bushes, sticks, twigs and etc. You saw a glimpse of the rushing waterfall where the river starts, it's waters still glinting in the pale moonlight. The trees and their leaves swayed gently in the ever blowing wind.
You saw the fields and the castle just beyond the trees. You and Ralsei walked across and arrived at a large wooden gate, you opened the door for the fluffy prince as a form of nice courtesy. You both walked down a long, stretched hallway; the walls of stone dotted with blue glowing torches. You soon found yourself in the sudden warmth of the glowing fireplace where you once were. You decided to go out into the front of the castle, you swung open the doors and to your surprise you saw Kris and Susie waiting for you. 'Hey dude!' she said, 'did you miss us?' 'Why... Yes' you exclaimed while trebling. You've always felt uneasy around Susie, she wasn't unpleasant to be around but she also wasn't the kindest to you either, she always had an attitude. 'So how was the trip?' you said to Susie. 'It wasn't much... 'pretty boring I'd say, although... when berdly fell in the mud that tug or war watch that was pretty hilarious.' 'how was Ralsei while we were gone?' She continued. 'He was very content' You said 'We had lots of fun.'

'Well that's nice' she sighed.
Both of you stood in silence for a couple seconds, Susie then broke the silence: 'So wanna get going?' she then said. 'Yeah' you replied back. So you, Ralsei, Susie and Kris walked into the middle of town and saw the exit to the Dark World. 'So... I guess this means goodbye for now...' Ralsei said. 'You turned to Ralsei, 'Don't worry Ralsei, I'll be back soon...' you then gave him a soft departing hug, his body felt warm and fuzzy. You, Kris and Susie walked into the circle, you felt light underfoot as you ascended to the surface; Ralsei waving as all of you depart.
You soon found yourself back in the closet, chess pieces and other games littered the ground, it was dark and cold. You then opened the door with Kris and Susie following behind. The setting sun glinted through the windows as you walked to the school's entrance. You said your final goodbyes to the rest of the gang. You then you went home with intentions on returning back tomorrow.

The Chronicles of Artharian Dagworth
Back in 2020 there were many theories on how the world would end. From the many religions apocalypses, nuclear wars that would leave the planet inhabitable, global warming doing the same, biological weapons getting out of control, viruses mutating into unstoppable diseases to the dead raising to prey on humanity, either due to a virus or just because hell filled up. Also, aliens, from the war mongering kind to the ones so advanced they didn’t see us as more than worms. And of course there was the fail proof theory that the world would end when the sun died. In a bunch of billion years give or take. Althougth some new scientist were discussing if the end would be on the take side, since when the sun started dying things would go haywire on the entire solar system and we would collide with mercury or maybe mars way before the expanding sun engulfed earth. But I digress… Now, those were the mainstream theories that the everyday Joe, who didn’t know the big secret, worried about. So, if you were to ask me which theory was correct I can tell you that I haven’t seen any little green man, at least not from another planet, and so far the sun is still shining, although it’s been only 9 years since everything went to hell, not the few billions (give or take) the scientist predicted, so that one isn’t ruled out yet. These two aside, I'd say all of them. Hey everyone, this is my first attempt at writing. I have been planning to do it for a really long time, and while this is not the one epic fantasy idea I ever wanted to write, I think it's a good one. The plan is to write an end of the world urban-fantasy series. Think a world like Dresden Files, Alex Verus, Iron druid, where magic is real but exist hidden from society meets the apocalypse. It will be written in first person in the Dresden Files style, no plans for other POV for now. As you probally alredy guessed from my style, english is not my first langague, so while google corrector helps, expect grammar errors, and I'd be gratefull for anyone to point them. I plan to write 2 to 3 chapters a week, 2000-4000 words each. Might change as I get more experience and depends on my free time. Cover image from the colections of getwallpapers.com
