loving you was the first time in my life i truly felt alive. you see, i was always lost. broken and in pain. i never understood the privilege of being loved. but my world changed when i met you. you opened up my eyes to the possibility of finally being enough. you set my soul on fire in a way i'd never known before and you held me like i was worth everything.
maybe i should've realized it was too good to be true. i got so lost in this feeling of finally holding the gift of love inside my hands that i didn't realize it wasn't enough.
i know now it hurts less to walk through life only ever knowing pain. i know now it hurts more to find that love and be
forced to watch it slip away.
