"Ten minutes!" Kai shouted holding a stopwatch.
"He just broke his own record the guy's in human!!"
The other boys had to double check the clock. The time had indeed been them minutes. The ninja rushed to the edge of the bounty and gazed into the ocean. Deep below the surface of the water, Zane was sitting, meditating on the ocean floor. A fish casually swam by and Zane looked at it and pet it. After it swam away, Zane pressed his feet against the sea floor and swam for the top.
Zane popped his head out of the water to breath.
"Haha! Amazing!" Cole said raising his hands in the air. Kai, Jay, Cole and Morro cheered for Zane holding his breath under water for 10 MINUTES.
"We're not worthy!" Jay said jokingly bowing.
"I broke the record?" Zane asked tedding water.
"You destroyed it!!" Kai pointed at the pocket watch he had.
"I don't even know how do this stuff!" Morro exclaimed.
"Okay, okay. Is anyone thinking what I'm thinking?" Jay asked.
"We've been training for so long; I don't think we can get any better! I mean, think of all the things we've accomplished!"
(Okay, I honestly don't know how to put in this next part, the montage thing, but just imagine them training and stuff. Kay, moving on!)
"Haha! You have been coming a long way! You know, from beating each other up to actually being a team! From relying on me, you can fight without me on your side!" Morro said in an encouraging way but also insulting a bit.
"The question should be raised. Perhaps we have reached our full potential!" Zane suggested.
"Wait, Morro. What does full potential look like?" Cole asked.
"Ehh, I don't know. A first perspective view, you don't really see it." Morro shrugged.
In a separate room, Sensei Wu sheathed a golden katana in a red cloth. The five boys came in the room competing about their morning workouts.
"Sensei, what does true potential look lime if--" Cole started before realizing his intrusion. The ninja all had a look of sympathy and bowed.
"Our apologies, sensei." Zane said.
"We intruded your time." Morro said.
Sensei Wu packed his katana in a similar red box.
"I'm sorry if I've been distant lately." Sensei sighed.
"My mind has been elsewhere since Lloyd has gone missing."
Morro gazed at the floor avoiding the looks of the four other ninja.
"What can I help you with?" Sensei asked the five as he stared out of a window.
"Sensei, what if we've done enough training?" Cole asked.
"What if we've reached out true potential? What if we're ready?" He continued.
"Hmpf. You might have reached peak physical condition, but you have yet to reach your inner true potential. Just the other day, you four got a glimpse of Morro's true potential." Sensei said.
The four younger ninja looked at Morro and mentally said: "so that was your true potential."
"In each and every one on us, there are obstacles that hold us back. Only when you conquer that fear, will your heart be free." Sensei finished.
Again, four ninja looked at Morro.
"Oh, I get it, you want me to tell you what my obstacle was, huh?" Morro crossed his arms. The four nodded.
Morro glanced back at his sensei.
"Another time. There's more isn't there?" Morro asked his mentor.

"When you have all unlocked your true potential, we may have a chance to stop the serpentine from releasing the great devourer." Sensei turned away from his students again.
"There's more to the great devourer than you've led on, isn't there sensei?" Zane asked walking up and putting a shoulder on Sensei Wu.
"I too, have obstacles within my own heart." Sensei sighed.
"There is a story I have never told any of you. Not even Morro."
Long ago, when I was a young boy...
Two boys were dueling with katanas in a training courtyard. One had brown hair, the other had blond.
Garmadon and I were more than just brothers. We were the best of friends.
"Wait a minute. I know you two were brothers, but really?" Jay interrupted.
"The king of cruelty, the doer of destruction, the captain of chaos!" Jay swung his arms around almost hitting the others.
"And you two were friends?"
Morro smacked Jay on the head.
"Ow!"
"Please, no interruptions." Sensei raised a hand.
You see, he did not always have a wicked heart.
A man, the first spinjitzu master, and the father of Wu and Garmadon, was cleaning the golden weapons while the boys were still dueling.
Garmadon jumped on Wu, clashing their katanas, with Wu on the defensive.
One day, I lost this very katana.
Garmadon hit Wu's katana out of his hands with his own, making Wu's fly over the monastery walls. The two boys glanced at their father with distressed looks.
Knowing our father would be mad, my brother told me to go retrieve it.
But I refused.
The young blond gazed at the tall wall infront of him. He shook his head with fear.
He told me not to put off what can be done today and went to get it himself.
The brunette boy jumped over the walls and landed safely on the other side. Looking around, he found a golden katana under a small bush. As he reached for it, a small green serpent with glowing red eyes rushed up and bit Garmadon on the hand. The green venom slowly sinking into the boy's skin.
Garmadon started to feel dizzy as he fell on the ground and passed out.
When my father found him, he was very ill. For he was bitten by a legendary snake that would grow forever as long as it consumes.
A great evil had found its way into my brother's heart. For the snake's venom could turn the purest of things wicked.
Wu investigated his brother's room to see the first spinjitzu master attempting to restrain Garmadon.
"Leave it!" Garmadon shouted.
"Leave me alone! I don't need you! I hate you!" He yelled as he pushed his father away.
The snake is the same one the serpentine want to reawaken today.
Wu his around the corner in regret. He peeked back into Garmadon's room.
"Aah! It hurts!" Wu herd Garmadon cry.
"It's all Wu's fault!" Wu saw Garmadon's gaze. It was cold and filled with hatred. Garmadon's eyes shifted red as he glared at Wu hiding being the door.
It is the snake that took my brother away from me.
"So, the great devourer turned your brother into the dark lord?" Kai asked. All the ninja were huddled around sensei. Morro kept looking in different directions of the room. This information was new to him and it looked like he was having a hard time taking it in.
"It was all my fault." Sensei Wu said regretfully.
"Your five have finished your training. You must bow focus on stopping Pythor from collecting the four fangblades." Sensei Wu closed the case with the katana and faced the ninja.

"But never lose focus of the obstacles that lie within your hearts, that hold you back from true greatness. Unlock your true potential."
"But, how are we supposed to do that sensei?" Zane inquired.
"It is up to each of you to discover." Sensei Wu replied walking past the five.
"Now, I must go of a personal journey of my own."
"Where are you going?" Jay asked.
"You're gonna leave us?" Morro followed.
"Yes, I will go to a place you cannot follow." Sensei looked down.
"If you're going for Lloyd, the city of Ouroboros is filled with hundreds of serpentine! You'll never do it alone!" Cole said.
"I am going to find someone who can be of aid. The serpentine have united and grown stronger, and we will need all the help we can get." Sensei parted his ways with the ninja, leaving with his staff and katana.
In a cave well below ground, the serpentine generals, Pythor and the serpentine tribes were all gathered.
"It says nothing about where the four Fangblades are hidden. Have our ancestors left us nothing? Where are they?" Skales questioned angerly at a mural with proficied images.
"This, here. This must be a clue." Pythor approached a circular stone. "When five fangs unite as one, the path toward the Devourer has begun." Pythor read.
"Yes, when the five tribes unite. We've done all this. It means nothing. If you don't find out soon, the others will begin to ask questions, and soon they will start to think you don't know what you are doing." Skales doubted his leader.
"I know what I'm doing, fool." Pythor retorted.
"I'm trying to unleash the Great Devourer. Legend spoke of a map showing exactly where the four Fangblades have been buried. There must be something around here. Keep looking!" He commanded.
In a nearby village, the ninua and Nya were hanging up posters that told people to report to the ninja if they find the fangblades.
"You really didn't know?" Cole asked Morro.
"No! I just thought that on that day he just.... Decided to!" Morro answered.
They now knew why this happened between Wu and Garmadon.
"Also, your problem that led you to unlock your true potential?" Jay asked.
"I had to, accept... Yeah, let's just say that. I had to let go of things." Morro said.
Zane sighed.
"This is silly." He said.
"You have any better ideas?" Cole asked.
"Hey! Maybe sensei is gonna ask the samurai for help!" Jay suggested.
"The samurai?!" Kai freaked out.
"I'm sure she's--" he looked at Morro and Nya again making the face that says: don't you dare.
"I mean he's busy looking for the fangblades as well." Kai finished.
"Smooth." Morro nudged Kai.
"Uh, is everything alright?" Cole asked the suspicious group.
"Yeah! Yeah, why wouldn't it be?" Kai said.
"100%! We're not hiding anything!" Nya said. Morro just shook his head.
Zane approached at building when he stopped right Infront of it. He had this feeling. Looking up and to the right a bit, Zane dropped the flyers he was holding.
"Hey! Weirdo!" The owner of the shop said.
"You're making a mess of my store front!" He shook Zane a bit.
Zane ignored him.
"Yoo-hoo! You got a problem?" The shop owner kept on going.
Zane dropped the rest of his flyers and started to walk away.
"Maybe I should teach you a lesson on manners!" The shop owner shouted.
"I'm sorry sir! Sometimes our friend is in another world." Kai rushed up.
"He's littering all over the place!" The shop keeper said.
"We'll pick it up! So sorry!" Cole rushed up to him as well.
Jay and Morro came to the aid.
"Zane! What's the deal?" Jay asked.
Zane again ignored. Up in the sky, he saw a rave coloured falcon flying above his head.
"Is that the falcon you guys were talking about?" Morro got a look.
"Yeah! Oh my gosh! Every time we follow it, it leads us to good fortune!" Jay pointed. Zane, Cole, Jay and Morro went ahead and followed the bird.
"Head back to the bounty and wait till you hear from us." Kai told his sister.
"But where are you going?" Nya asked.
"We're gonna follow the bird! Who knows! It could lead us to the first fang blade!" Kai ran off.
The ninja ran through the desert following the falcon. They reached a snowy plain.
"I guess good fortune is really far away!" Kai took a quick stop and kept going.
They reached a mountain and stated to climb while Morro flew up with bishop glider.
"Keep going I'll... I'll catch up!" Jay said taking a break on a cliff.
The remaining four reached a ravine with a tree trunk as a bridge. Zane, Kai and Morro crossed it, while Cole stuck around on the other side.
"I'm good! Just... Just taking a breather! Uh, I'll meet up with you shortly!" Cole called out. Morro was about to fly over and check on him before Cole told him to keep going again. Morro left a trail with his glider for him to follow.
"Good thing we are in peak physical condition!" Kai panted. Morro landed on the ground, scoffed at Kai then continued to follow Zane and the falcon on his glider.
"Cheater!" Kai called it then kept running.
This time, the falcon led the remaining ninja to a birch forest covered in snow. The three stopped just at the edge.
"Gosh that bird just keeps going!" Kai took deep breaths.
"You know what? Imma go back and check on Cole and Jay. I'm a bit worried." Morro flew back the way they came.
"Hey, what do you make of this?" Kai pointed at a sign that said:
Beware of tree horns.
"I am not familiar with a tree horn." Zane said.
"It's probably just some wild squirrels, heh." Kai replied. The falcon squeaked again, signaling that they need to keep going.
"Well don't lose him! I'll wait for Morro to come back with the others!" Kai said. Zane nodded than ran off to follow.
"Where are we going, my mysterious friend?" Zane asked.
The Falcon falls from the sky and twitches, with sparks coming out of it.
"You're a... a robot?" Zane ran up to inspect it. He puts the Falcon next to a tree and sees an iron giant looking guardian.
"Intruder! Intruder! Prepare to be terminated!" Zane herd the robot say.
The robot shot at Zane, bit he dodged it with his elemental bike. Zane threw one of his shuriken into the cannon of the robot and the other into the shoulder. He found a panel on the back and He disabled the Juggernaut and sees the same symbol on the Falcon.
"The same symbol. Where have you brought me, my Falcon friend?" Zane picked up the falcon and spotted the same symbol on a tree. He opened it to reveal a door leading down into the tree. Hesitantly, Zane entered. Not knowing what he would find.

Is it a mistake to challenge fate, after all? *** The world-building is set upon on the universal scale, with dungeon and old-style fantasy. It has a progression that follows with the consistency of a dungeon setting, although it's not what you call a dungeon, but a function of a crystal. There's a lot to take in this novel, but that's all within my intention. I have always enjoyed challenging conventional ideas. The cover is not mine, it's just temporary.
