Chapter 41
So much time has passed since Lian Ren and Shao Ling disappeared since the Rising Star Cultivation Battle in the floating palace. The Yun Sect may seem to look stable on the eyes of outsiders, but they are actually chaotic to the verge of going crazy.
A loud slam on the wooden table was heard on the Yun Sect Main Hall. It was Jian Jie, his soft and handsome appearance looking furious, knitting his brows deeply and his fist clenching tightly.
The Yun Sect Elders could only avert their gaze from Shao Ling's direct disciple. But one of the Elders replied in an offended tone,
The other Elders agreed on the old man.
Jian Jie only responded with a scowl,
Xin Mei who was behind Jian Jie, felt that she had to stop her senior brother from snapping,
( "Shixiong" means Senior Brother, "Shidi" means Junior Brother. )
Jian Jie had no choice but to do as his junior sister. He also felt that it is no use talking to the old geezers of the Sect who does nothing but drink tea leisurely while the Yun Sect Master is missing.
Shao Ling's direct disciple left the main hall with sullen faces. After the echoes of footsteps completely disappeared, the elders glanced at each other with a meaningful gazes, until a black fog materialized at the center of the marble floor of the main hall and a woman in black cloak appeared, filled with sinister energy around her body.
The woman's glowing blood red eyes was the only thing that can be seen. She glanced left and right on the terrified Elders, and spoke in a sharp voice,
One of the elders courageously replied despite his face turning blue to green from the terror.
The blood red eyes of the unidentified woman glowed even more. Dark sinister energy started to spread around the floors of the main hall as she calmly replied,
The other Elder politely replied as he slapped the mouth of his comrade.
The woman let out a low humph and turned around with a wave of her black cloak,
Lian Ren said in a soft gentle tone as he pointed at the small wooden hut five miles away from them. The hut was full of holes and the door was slightly crooked, but the hut is still accommodating in the midst of a place that has nothing but plains and forest.

Shao Ling glanced at the small hut and pondered for a while. Later on, he replied in a straight tone,
Lian Ren glanced at the setting sun from the west and continued to speak, I just want to be with Shizun for a while.
Shao Ling felt convinced but what he said and responded with a nod,
Lian Ren replied, his eyes showed a glint of spark as he guided Shao Ling to the small hut.
The two arrived the small hut. The crooked door made a loud creaking sound as Lian Ren opened it while Shao Ling proceeded to enter. Lian Ren glanced at the gas lamp that has a hint of fire because of the black stains on its mantle. The bed was neatly cleaned and there was also a blanked inside. Lian Ren pondered for a while as he stared at the gas lamp. It seems that someone has been here. Or they must've been staying here for a while. But seeing that the sun went down and that person hasn't come back yet, the person must've left as soon as the sun went up and went to another place.
Lian Ren glanced at Shao Ling who spoke and gave him a smile.
Lian Ren replied.
Shao Ling responded with a low "Hmn" and spoke,
Lian Ren's smiling face dropped as he tried to fish some words to convince his Shizun,
You want me to sleep with you? In that small bed? Together? Shao Ling's mouth twitched at his own thoughts and shook his head as a response to Lian Ren,
Lian Ren paused for a while, his lips curved into a mischievous smile as he spoke,
Shao Ling felt so embarrassed that blood went up to his face and his cheeks turned flushed red. He noticed that Lian Ren was staring at him with a bright smile and realized that he was teasing him, so he turned around and put his both arms in his back. As calm as he can, Shao Ling replied as he shut his eyes tightly while his cheeks are still flushed red from the embarrassment.
Lian Ren grinned even more. He paved way for Shao Ling to go to the bed while he removed his outer robe and folded it to be his pillow on the floor. Before lying down, Lian Ren widened his palms and blue spiritual qi started to leak out of his palm followed by a two ice fairies materializing from the center of his palm. The ice fairies made a low clinging sound, fluttering their wings as a sign of greeting to Lian Ren.

The ice fairies nodded their heads and flew out of the hut to start their guard. Lian Ren was about to lay down on the floor when he noticed on his peripheral vision that Shao Ling was staring at him in a daze. Lian Ren raised his brows and spoke in a low voice,
Shao Ling twitched and tried his hard to stay calm as he replied,
Knitting his brows in bewilderment, Lian Ren spoke,
Shao Ling cut him off and turned on the other side of the bed.
The two of them stayed silent for a long time. Until without realizing they both felt asleep from pondering too much. The moon slowly rose, stars were becoming more and more bright as they midnight came. The window of the small hut has three holes so the cold wind was able to enter inside, making Shao Ling shiver in cold in his sleep. Shao Ling woke up from the cold, he slowly opened his eyes and tried to get the blanket on the edge of the bed when another hand grabbed the blanket. Shao Ling glanced at his side and saw that Lian Ren was also trying to grab the blanket with him.
Half asleep, Lian Ren shifted his gaze at Shao Ling and whispered softly,
Shao Ling replied.
Lian Ren grabbed the blanket and stood up. Shao Ling slightly frowned because he was also cold when he saw Lian Ren climb up to his bed and lay down beside him, spreading out the blanket to cover half of their bodies from the cold. Shao Ling was lightheaded because he only just woke up, he didn't know how to react so he only stared at Lian Ren with a dumbfounded expression.
Lian Ren opened his eyes and snickered at Shao Ling's expression,
Shao Ling quietly lied down beside Lian Ren. The bed was too small for them to fit in, so Shao Ling squeezed himself to Lian Ren so that he won't fall off the bed. Shao Ling was about to fall asleep once again when he felt a hand wrapping around his waist. He glanced at his back and at the same time, Lian Ren rested his chin on his shoulders. Because Shao Ling turned around, their faces were so close to each other to the point that their noses were brushing on each other.
Lian Ren lifted his gaze on Shao Ling and stared at him without saying a word. Shao Ling, feeling embarrassed, averted his gaze and tried to sleep. He can feel Lian Ren's breath from his earlobe, it makes him feel ticklish but the warmth of Lian Ren's breath makes him comfortable at the same time.
Lian Ren hugged him tighter, whispering in a husky voice,
Shao Ling nodded inside his mind and agreed with him. They stayed like that for a long time, until the two of them fell asleep without realizing.
The Yun Sect Elders have arrived at the place that they're supposed to go. They glanced left and right, hideous demons were growling and snarling at them from afar, making them shriek in fear and walk faster.
A palace made of black jade greeted the elders. Although it looks majestic and beautiful, no one will appreciate it because it is located inside the underworld realm. The elders gulped hard before proceeding to enter.
Different demons greeted them with bloodshot eyes and growls. The elders started to walk run to the palace until they arrived at the throne hall. The gigantic door opened and a black jade throne greeted them. There was no demon sitting in it the woman in black cloak showed up in the shadow.
The woman spoke in a sharp tone.
One of the elders replied.
The woman snarl at them, making them shriek in fear and she spoke in a scowl,
The elders were silent and trembling as they followed her enter a dark portal to another place. A scorching hot fire greeted them and at the center was a black crystal. The crystal had so many talismans covered around it, the talisman's engraving was written in ancient words so no one could decipher it and remove it.
The elders immediately bowed down and greeted the black crystal,
The black crystal let out a red glow and it's roar was enough to make a tornado from the fire,
The woman in black cloak showed her sharp and long claws,
The black crystal spoke in a calm tone.
The black crystal let out a red glow,
