Chapter 26
The Ghost City of Wrath was very quiet despite the battle commencing inside the Mansion. The human ghosts were not seen everywhere. Since the Ghost Generals were tasked to search for the two cultivators, little did they know that the two were already battling their Lord. One of the Ghost General, who was strolling around the Ghost City where human ghosts were already hiding in fear, sensed a terrifying energy as they went nearer and nearer to the mansion. The Ghost General turned to his subordinates and spoke in a hurry,
The Ghost General also released a pitch black energy from his hand and the pitch black energy turned itself into a bird, scattering around the place to inform other Generals that their Master was ambushed. It was not that long when the Ghost General arrived at the entrance of the Mansion. But when the Ghost General tried to open the wooden doubled door, a glowing blur barrier surfaced in the handle of the door that knocked back the General then the large doubled door was instantly covered in ice, sealing the entrance from the uninvited guests.
The Ghost General shouted to his subordinates as soon as he stood up,
However, when the subordinates tried to go to the other places of the Mansion, a blue barrier blocked the subordinates from the walls as well as the doors and windows and also inflicted a damage to them by freezing them with ice. One of the subordinates shouted.
The Ghost General murmured.
Lian Ren heaved a heavy breath as he tried to maintain his balance. He stumbled a few times as he tried to properly carry Shao Ling on his arms. As the time goes by, he felt that unconsciousness is slowly taking over him but he needs to stay awake in order to ensure that Shao Ling will be safe. Shit.... Putting up a barrier in a large mansion like this eats up a huge amount of my spiritual energy as well as the ice fairies that i summoned especially the Blood Demon.... I need to finish this quickly.
All of a sudden, the wide wall of ice spikes exploded in an instant. Glowing golden sinister covered the entire floor followed by the ice slowly melting and disappearing into nothingness. Lian Ren held Shao Ling tighter and subconsciously took a step back. Even if he act tough in this situation, he knew that he had no spiritual qi left, and it is time to leave this to his summon.
Acting strong will not only risk his own life but also Shao Ling's. In the midst of the glowing golden sinister qi, the Sin of Wrath was standing still afar from him. His right hand was raised and his expression was showing a hint of irritation. The Sin of Wrath unleashed a golden snake coming from the excess golden sinister from the ground and the snake was about to rush to Lian Ren's direction as it bare it's fangs but was immediately stopped by the Blood Demon that he summoned.

The Sin of Wrath cannot continue his words when he saw the one who stopped his attack. His blood red eyes immediately shrunk and his hands uncontrollably trembled in fear as he looked at the person who was standing in front of him with an expressionless face.
Lian Ren watched them from afar, his eyes slowly curving into a grin as he carried Shao Ling in his arms. It is true that the strength of the Sin of Wrath was horrifying but from experiencing their battle in his past life, he noticed a fatal weakness that the Sin of Wrath possess. And it was none other than his emotions. Even if the Sn of Wrath acts like an emotionless tyrant, he cannot deny that he and his brother are still alike. Birds of the same feathers flock together, and that also applies to siblings.
His brother, the Sin of Gluttony, was not carried away by his emotions but his stupidity is what makes him weak. However, the Sin of Wrath, no matter how he resist his emotions, it will eventually eat him whole as soon as he wasn't able to control it well. That's right.... Lian Ren grinned even more. In order to defeat this Wrath bastard, his weakness must be exposed to make him vulnerable. The Sin of Wrath started to take a step back, terror was clearly portrayed in his expression as he stared at the demon who blocked his attack. The Sin of Wrath exclaimed, continuing to step away from the demon who was in the form of a teenager.
Of course, Lian Ren knew that the Blood Demon is the Sin of Wrath and the Sin of Gluttony's father. Much more is that the Demon King ordered his loyal subjects to bear a child that will be sent to the Demon Realm and will be bestowed by a powerful title that is the Seven Deadly Sins. The Sin of Wrath and the Sin of Gluttony are the children of the Blood Demon. However, the Blood Demon didn't consider them as his children but instead, a puppet that will bring order to the Demon Realm. So he did nothing but train his children to death just so that they will be the one to bear the title of the Seven Deadly Sins.
The Sin of Wrath tried to introduce himself but the demon responded with a deadpan expression, making the Sin of Wrath terrified even more.
Lian Ren felt amused at the scene that he was seeing. The Blood Demon was already dead thousands of years ago, he is nothing but a puppet that he summoned right now. It was obvious that the Blood Demon will not portray any emotions and his purpose is to follow every order coming from Lian Ren. Lian Ren ordered. Now that the Sin of Wrath's weakness was exposed, the battle didn't last long. The Sin of Wrath wasn't able to fight back because it was pure instinct that he mustn't fight back to his own father. With every slash of the Blood Demon's sharo claws, the Sin of Wrath's skin was dug out to the point that his flesh was showing. In the end, the Blood Demon gouged the Sin of Wrath's demonic core and crushed it into pieces, leaving the empty shell cold and lifeless on the ground.

The Blood Demon came back to Lian Ren's side and kneeled down, saying that his task was already done. Lian Ren simply said. The Blood Demon followed his order without hesitation and shrunk on the pool of blood that he made on the floor, disappearing into nothingness. Lian Ren heaved a breath and glanced at Shao Ling. His face was now showing a bit of color and the freezing ice had now disappeared on his skin. The ice fairies must've doing a good job calming down his spiritual core.
Lian Ren started to walk down the Mansion straight to the underground tunnel. He knew that there was a hidden tunnel somewhere here in the Mansion that will lead outside the city. With a few more walks, he arrived at the tunnel and started walking a few more, ending up in front of the activated Demon gate. Lian Ren murmured. He heaved a breath before entering the demon gate that led them in an unknown forest. Lian Ren wandered his eyes on the surroundings and his brows knitted into a slight frown. I've never been here before. He was about to take his first step but he immediately stumbled when he felt like the world was spinning. Lian Ren immediately closed his eyes, gathered strength on his arms and the calves of his legs so that he won't fall to the ground. Fuck. I don't have much time left...
Lian Ren immediately hurry since there's barely any time left. He immediately used Yun Sect's light foot work since the Yun Sect's foot work didn't require any spiritual qi but only balance, agility and strength. It is also the reason why Yun Sect foot work is very hard to master especially it's final form that Shao Ling personally made. Lian Ren spotted a cave in the east side of the forest and he immediately landed down the trees. Gently putting Shao Ling down the cave, Lian Ren held his breath because Shao Ling might wake up any time now that he had been fully healed. Lian Ren sat beside him, continuously breathing heavily to maintain concious but in the end, he eventually fainted beside Shao Ling.
The sound of the crickets in the forest reverberated inside Shao Ling's ears, making him wake up from his slumber. He stared down at his robes in a daze and blinked repeatedly. Stains of blood with holes in his robes were seen but the cuts that he received from the battle with the Sin of Wrath was not visible anymore. After a moment, Shao Ling immediately stood up, remembering that Lian Ren appeared in the midst of their battle but when he glanced at his surroundings, he noticed that he was inside a cave in the middle of the forest, making him bewildered and anxious. Shao Ling crouched down to the ground of the cave, examining the particles of energy all over the place that made him astonished.
Shao Ling noticed a silhouette of a person slightly move at his peripheral vision and he saw that Lian Ren was lying at the cave, his eyes was tightly closed and his lips were pale. Shao Ling approached him with a frown, grabbing his wrist and examining his pulse.
Shao Ling sighed and pressed his both palms at Lian Ren's chest, he closed his eyes and let his spiritual qi pour inside Lian Ren's body but Shao Ling abruptly opened his eyes when he felt a presence inside his core. Shao Ling ordered as he pointed his fan at Lian Ren's chest.
A black wisp slowly went out of Lian Ren's body, the black wisp molded itself into a furball creature with an angry expression.
Shao Ling withdrew his fan but he stared at the black furball with a straight expression.
The furball replied with a raged expression,
Shao Ling ignored him and pressed his palm on Lian Ren's chest once again. He was about to let his spiritual qi pour in Lian Ren's body when the black furball spoke beside him.
Shao Ling turned to him,
The black furball replied.
Shao Ling withdrew his palm on Lian Ren's chest and shifted his attention at the black furball, suspicion was portrayed in his eyes.
The black furball exclaimed,
Shao Ling replied with his brows arched.

The Unstoppable Ascension of Zu Mari, Time-Looper
Zu Mari will never be stopped! Zu Mari will ascend to the heavens! Zu Mari is a downtrodden cultivator without any hope of becoming powerful. OR SO HE THINKS! One day fate intervenes on his behalf to give him everything he'd ever dreamed of, ALL THE POWER HE SO RIGHTLY DESERVES! And then, finally, everything starts going his way. (Well... kind of.) [Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] wooooo!! Let's do this! Just to clear up some misconceptions, this is not a parody and it is not a satire. Zu Mari does include over the top humor and exaggerations intended to amuse, but satire is a very specific thing which this is not. I certainly haven't read enough xianxia to properly satirize or parody them. It's just a silly project I'm writing for fun, with a meta story that makes me laugh. Expecting anything else will only end in disappointment.

Travelers [DROPPED]
DROPPED. The story focuses less on dungeon building than on the why of dungeons and how they fit into the universal order. While I am working from a grand plot, the writing is going slice of life style because I need to do that to work out how things progress into that grand plot. The original story seed idea / synopsis is below. The Grand Tapestry protects Rhofhir from Primal Chaos by imposing Order via patterns. However, the patterns grow stiff, stagnant, and so the Tapestry is nearing a time of Unraveling. Evidence of past civilizations wiped out during previous Unravelings foreshadow the apocalyptic catastrophe looming over the world. The mages of the Arcane Asylum reach out across dimensions, searching for some way to prevent, or at least stall, the coming Unraveling. Among the many voices they find is a gifted graduate student researching machine-assisted telepathy -- and his gaming group. Lena never expected that the chance to play DnD with telepathy would result in her becoming an actual Dungeon Master, nor that her friends could become the bosses of her dungeon. This is, in many ways, her dream come true, but there's a catch: What happened to Brad, the creator of that telepathy machine?
