Chapter 13
As soon as the sun rose from the east, the Yun Sect became busy. Countless footsteps were heard all over the Great Hall of the Yun Sect, all of the Yun Sect's disciples, whether they are Juniors or Seniors, Inner disciples or outer disciples, they gathered at the Yun Sect Great Hall and stared at the gigantic gate of the Yun Sect. Some were still drowsy and trying to stay awake, some were thinking about something else inside their mind, some were calm and composed and some were whispering to each other to satisfy their curiosity.
"Senior Brother Jian Jie is about to return, right?"
"Haven't you heard? Yun Sect Master appointed Senior Brother Jian Jie in a dangerous mission at the Fanghuan River because the water ghosts were shrinking countless boats who were trying to trade from the other empire."
"Yun Sect Master had to send Jian Jie himself because the emperoe of the Wan Rong Empire personally complained to it about the issue."
"I heard that it took a few months because the demon gate was deep down the Fanghuan River."
"Senior Brother Jian Jie is really amazing, isn't he?"
"As expected of Yun Sect Master's first disciple!"
Xin Mei asked to Lian Ren as she mixed to the crowds on the Yun Sect Great Hall.
Lian Ren continued to walk while fixing the jade crown that was embedded on his high and neat ponytail then answered,
( In case you guys don't know, shixiong in chinese means Senior Brother. )
Xin Mei tried to search for other words but realizing that she had nothing to say, she lowered her head and walked slower behind Lian Ren. Lian Ren shifted his gaze on her and his lips curved into a gentle smile, lowering his hand to pat Xin Mei's head as he spoke,
The gigantic silver gates of the Yun Sect was opened by two Yun Sect cultivators and a man wearing a dirty white cloak that was covering his entire body specially his face was walking forward the Yun Sect Great Hall followed by five cultivators behind them. They walk towards the Yun Sect Great Hall filled with dignity and honor on successfully finishing the dangerous mission of the Fanghuan river, and the Yun Sect disciples who were waiting on their return welcomed them with a round of applause and compliments.
"Senior Brother Jian Jie!"
"Welcome back!~"
"Congratulations on your victorious return!"
"Look, it's Senior Brother Jian Jie's subordinates that he established five years ago. The Orders!"
Lian Ren glowered at the five cultivators walking behind Jian Jie. His Senior Brother Jian Jie was Shao Ling's first disciple, and because of his achievements, the elders decided to give him a permission to establish his own group where he don't need to go alone on missions anymore and also, Jian Jie can put them in good use on his mission.

However, Jian Jie was a man of integrity. He only picked five competent disciples from the Yun Sect and called them the Order because they can only accompany him once the order about the missions will be announced. He treasured the members of the orders and treated them like his own young siblings.
Jian Jie didn't expect anything on them, he never forced them to cultivate to their death, read books about martial arts until blood dripped down to their noses or anything that they never wished for. Jian Jie accepted the Order from who they are and what they are only capable of.
Xin Mei on the other hand, was also a competent disciple of Shao Ling and the elders also made a proposal for her to establish a mission force for herself. However, knowing Xin Mei's personality, she was always bad at handling big groups and always prefer to work on missions by herself so she respectfully decline the offer of the elders.
And on the day that Lian Ren can't ever forget, Shao Ling was not only the reason why Xin Mei and Jian Jie died, the Orders were also responsible for Jian Jie's death and also one fourth of the Yun Sect disciples who went to battle in his past life. Jian Jie died a miserable deatrh because of them, and after the horrifying baattlefield that day, the Orders disappeared without a trace.
Xin Mei ran on the man in dirty white cloak direction with a sweet smile on her face. The man in cloak removed the hood on his head, and a spectacular features of his face was seen.
簡杰
Jian Jie's long, unruly hair that was lengthing down his chest was painted with charcoal black color, tied in a high ponytail with a jade crown while some strans of his hair was brushing on his face that was molded into a long aand slim shape. Jian Jie's full and droopy lips curved into a smile as he raised his pale and slender hand that was full of callous then patted Xin Mei's head. Jian Jie asked in a low baritone voice.
Xin Mei nodded with a smile andd replied,
Jian Jie's thick and neat brows knitted into a frown that showed some wrinkled on his long and pointed nose. His big lead black eyes shifted it's gaze at Lian Ren's direction and a beautiful mole was seen below his left eye as he spoke,
Ah... how i miss that demanding tone. Lian Ren responded with a smile, his eyes filled with a nostalgic feeling down to his chest.
Lian Ren paused and stared at Lian Ren with an unreadable expression,
A voice of a woman called, and Jian Jie was taken aback, shifting his face back to normal as she turned to the woman with a response,

Jian Jie shifted his gaze to the Yun Sect tutors who are already standing at the entrance of the Yun Sect Great Hall with smiles on their faces, a sign that they are welcoming him and his group. Jian Jie redirected his gaze back to Lian Ren with a frown before proceeding to walk towards the door of the Great Hall.
Jian Jie's return ceremony happened in an instant. The Yun Sect disciples complimented him on completing such a dangerous mission that no one can complete and also gave credits to the Order. The Great Hall was very lively until the sun rose down and the night emerged. Lian Ren was at the balcony of the Yun Sect Great Hall, sitting properly before it's railings and holding a jar of wine on his hand.
The strong taste of the alcohol slid down to his throat and gave a hot feeling on his chest, until Lian Ren immediately shifted his gaze at the door when someone stepped in, it was Jian Jie who was now wearing Yun Sect robes. Jian Jie walked towards him and silently sat down beside Lian Ren, there was no jar of wine on his hand.
Lian Ren asked as he inhaled thee fresh air of the nature, the cozy breeze brushed through his honey colored skin.
He is so calm and composed as usual. No wonder most of the Yun Sect disciples thought that he was Shizun's illegitimate child-------In a blink of an eye, the blade of the sharp katana sword was pointed on Lian Ren's neck. Because of it's sharpness, the blade brushed through Lian Ren's skin that made a small shallow cut on his neck, blood dripped down on the clean marble floor of the Yun sect Great Hall.
Lian Ren wasn't able to say anything at Jian Jie's words. However, his face stayed calm and his lips curved into a smile that made Jian Jie look at him with a gaze of suspicion even more. Your words hurt shixiong.
Could you let me finish first?
Lian Ren blinked at him and continued to smile again,
This is what i don't like about him.
Lian Ren stared at him with a hopeless expression. Yes... This situation is what i hate so much... I don't want to go back and experience this... Jian Jie was always a difficult person ever since he met him. It's true that he was an amazing person, a strong person who always face people with a dignified aura. But once you get to know him, it would be a nightmare.
He was very difficult to approach, even the Yun Sect disciples were creeped when they tried to talk to him, and called him a rude person. He never let people finish speaking and always mind his own business, not being considerate of others. And it was the reason why he only have few friends. But it was a different case when it comes to Shao Ling. Jian Jie respects Shao Ling as if he was a god, he never tolerate other people talking bad about him, he always let him be comfortable and he always let Shao Ling finish talking first before speaking.
Lian Ren massaged his forehead and heaved a heavy breath, remembering all the nightmares of Jian Jie.
Jian Jie pressed the blade of the katana sword on Lian Ren's neck even more but the sharp blade wasn't able to cause wounds on Lian Ren this time, making Jian Jie even more suspicious and alarmed.
Before Jian Jie could swing his sword and engage into battle with Lian Ren, the door of the balcony was opened and the Yun Sect doctor appeared with sweats dripping down his face.
Jian Jie frowned in bewilderment,
The Yun Sect Doctor shifted his gaze at Lian Ren's direction and bowed as a sign of greeting, The doctor nervously glanced at Jian Jie's direction but Jian Jie stared at him with a nod,
Jian Jie pressed his lips together and shifted his gaze at Lian Ren's direction as he put his katana sword back to it's scabbard.
Lian Ren was speechless until the three of them arrived at the Azure Lotus Pavilion. For some reason, the plum blossom tree seems to have more petals and the grasses on the Pavilion seems very bright and healthy. Lian Ren walked forward and knocked twice on the door with a greeting,
How could you be so causal to Shizun! Jian Jie glared at him from behind but he paused when he heard Shao Ling's voice from inside.
The door was creaked open, and what they saw shocked them. Shao Ling's ebony black hair grew even more longer than usual and his soot black eyes became more vibrant and brighter. His ivory skin became more paler and his lips that was slightly parted were moist and red. It was as if he was undergoing on a full transformation, as if he was awakening something.

Conquest Of Mortem
*NOTE* This novel is a war of attrition. To say anything less is a disservice to its demand. While comparable to other such works as Ulysses or Moby Dick, each sentence in Conquest is an enemy to be tackled. Not in the ways of difficulty but in absurd density that wishes nothing more than to destroy what patience you may have. Do not tackle chapters as you would ordinary chapters in an ordinary book. Tackle each chapter as a book unto itself. A foe to be vanquished, a period of life to leave behind. Seek to be master of this work. Seek to overcome. For in its design is the willpower, and the perseverance, and the strength of someone who sought meaning in struggle. As I discovered these in times of ultimate desperation, so I hope for you to discover these things. This novel is a love letter to your trials. May you overcome them. May you master them. May you become conquerer.- SeedSagaA literary epic for logophiles, philosophers, and poets alike. A journey into zeitgeist, the impact of media on culture, and the endurance of morality against an onslaught of hatred. These vague descriptions do little to compact Conquest's density into a bite-size summary. They do however relate the basest themes found within. A plot, if such can be surmised, is strung thinly across multiple perspectives, weaving together these concepts into a seemingly distorted tapestry of indecipherable events. Inspired by early 20th century modernism, Conquest will challenge the reader, and provide critique on the medium upon which all great stories are derived. Further interpretation is up to you now; an explorer among a sea of words. Venture on and discover what lies ahead, in...CONQUEST OF MORTEM
