After the discussion that night, Delun was told that Li Jie's family would sleep in the Wei manor until the problem was over. The Emperor wanted to protest but seeing that his Empress would obey his father, he had no choice but to follow.

Early morning, Lim Hao who guarded Li Jie felt there's something off with him after the ambush happened. Although Li Jie managed to disguise his feelings in front of Delun, but he was really scary when Delun wasn't around. His aura seemed darker and heavier, Lim Hao gulped in fear that his throat felt dry.

"Young Madame, is there something wrong?" Lim Hao asked with concern. Li Jie looked at him with solemn gaze and smiled, "Nothing, my head hurts."

'Oh, so that's why.'

"Don't worry Young Madame, I'll inform Empress Wei that you need to be checked by their physician."

"No worries! It'll be gone in a few minutes." He reassured Lim Hao about it and fell into a daze. Lim Hao sighed and slumped back from his seat inside the carriage. They were ready to leave the palace and as what His Majesty told them, they will be going to the Wei manor to spend their nights temporarily.

"Delun's not coming with us?" Li Jie asked, Lim Hao smiled and said, "He'll be busy fixing this problem, so he'll not come with us for a while. Don't worry, after he problem's over, he promised that you two will come home."

Li Jie smiled and looked out the window. His solemn and gentle gaze turned into a malicious one. His eyes were cold and vast, he really wanted to murder someone.

Lim Hao couldn't see Li Jie's expressions for he was facing outside, so he remained quiet and guarded Li Jie in alert.

Tu Fai, who was working in the armory with a blank face sighed as he heard that the Feng manor was ambushed by assassins. For heaven's sake, his brother was in there. He couldn't help but to worry. However, he only felt relieved when he recalled that Li Jie's husband was a general. He could protect him anytime. But still, he couldn't get rid of the worries he had in his heart especially from his husband. Tu Fai still hated Delun for stealing their youngest from their family. If he could roast the General in the hot stove, he could've done it a long time ago.

However, as he was forging a sword, some of his colleagues shouted his name with excitement and confusion.

'What the hell happened to them?'

"Sire! Someone came here from the royal palace to see you!" One of his colleagues said. Tu Fai stood up, panicking and pondering why he was being called in the palace. His brows wrinkled in surprise and he nervous by it.

Jin Ping, who was cold and aloof was reading and writing poetry from his workshop.

"Young master! Young Master!" One of the things he hated was being interrupted in the middle of his work, he stared coldly from the man who called him. The man flinched and his body shook scantly. He said, "Someone from the royal palace came here to see you."

Jin Ping widened his eyes in surprise. Why was he being called all of the sudden? Is there something wrong with his brother? Is he hurt? Or did he do something wrong?

His mind was in shambles but his face remained cold and stoic. So, it's obvious than no one knew what he was thinking.

"Why am I being called?"

"Young master, I don't know." The man replied. Jin Ping could only sigh and stood up, walking towards the royal guards' direction.

"Brother, he's going to be okay right?" Min Zhe asked worryingly. Hui Hua assisted Jiang Hua while treating Li Wei's wounds. The trio was inside Jiang Hua's clinic. They brought Li Wei at his clinic because of the tools he have there. Jiang Hua sweated a lot as he stitched Li Wei's wound. Good thing that he doesn't lost too much blood or this will become chaotic if it does.

One of the medicines that was needed to Li Wei's wound was out of stock, so Jiang Hua wrote something on the paper to let Min Zhe get it for him.

"Bro, I remembered that Young Master Lim told me that you have a good penmanship. Why can't I read this at all? It looks like shit!" Min Zhe cursed as Jiang Hua hit his brother with a stick.

"Stop dillydallying and just get it for me stupid!"

"Geez I was just kidding! Wait I'll get it for you!"

'But I was right though. I can't believe Young Master Lim have this kind of taste in penmanship.'

Min Zhe hopped over the roofs of the houses, hurrying himself to get the herb from his Chao-ge's pharmacy. However, he didn't expect the royal guards came over from his brother's pharmacy.

"What's going on?" He whispered to himself, he saw his brother walked out of the pharmacy with a confused face as he faced the royal guards. He hurried himself and called him, "Chao-ge!"

Cheung Chao was surprised seeing his brother ran towards him. Min Zhe then faced the royal guards as he arrived at Cheung Chao's front.

"Why did all of you came here?" He asked, Cheung Chao remained silent and listened.

"His Majesty told us that your family will stay in the Wei manor for the time being and we are here to escort you." One of the royal guards said. The brothers were surprised and confused. Cheung Chao then asked with confusion, "Why?"

"Reporting with Young Master, we don't know."

'Wow, good answer.' The brothers thought the same thing.

"Excuse me, but my brother together with the servant were in the clinic. The servant was badly wounded so my brother was treating his wounds there. Would you mind if we could bring over the servant and the General's physician with us? My brother- I mean the General's wife will be mad if something will happen to his servant. And my brother Jiang lacked assistant so we will bring an assistant for him." Min Zhe asked.

"The Wei family also have physicians---"

"But my brother Jiang only wants his trusted assistant so can we bring him?" The servant sighed and agreed to Min Zhe's request.

Cheung Chao narrowed his eyes and nudged his elbow against Min Zhe.

"Hey, what happened in the manor?" Cheung Chao asked. Since he was so busy and was traveling in the mountains, Cheung Chao didn't know anything about the ambush. He only knew the things now after Min Zhe told him.

Cheung Chao got frightened and clenched his fist tightly. Their youngest brother was there, and their youngest brother was prone to accidents. What if the same thing happened again? Cheung Chao was scared of his thoughts and told himself to calm down.

At least, his A-jie was safe and sound. If not, he will surely kill the people who harmed him.

As the brothers, together with the wounded Li Wei and assistant Hui Hua entered the Wei manor, they were shocked on how big this manor was. As expected as one of the biggest families of the Qin era, theirs was just like an anthill in the ground.

They walked inside and saw their youngest brother waving his hand at them. The brothers felt warm in their hearts and ran towards him. They then hugged Li Jie for a long time.

Lim Hao, who stood behind Li Jie went stiff as he saw Jiang Hua. He didn't know why but he felt nervous when seeing him. (You will know later ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

His heart sped up and he could clearly hear his heartbeat well. He gulped and his cheeks were blushing.

When he and Jiang Hua's eyes met, he was stunned, he felt like all of his blood rushed to his head.

However, he exploded when Jiang Hua smiled at him.

'Damn damn damn! Why did he smile at me?! Does he like me?!' And because of that, he looked away and hid his blushing face. Gosh, he was embarrassed.

Later that night, Li Jie could sense that all of them were fast asleep. His warmth eyes when he faced his brothers were being replaced by a cold and terrifying glare as he looked in the mirror. His heterochromia eyes narrowed and a wide smirk plastered on his face. He took of the flashing pink hanfu and replaced it with black. He tied his hair in a ponytail and covered half of his face with a veil. He placed his hidden dagger on his left thigh and an arrow and bow on his back. He checked the hidden spots and passed there, not knowing that someone followed his way to where he wanted to go.

Empress Wei saw Li Jie sneaking in the manor, he got interested and followed him all the way to where he was going. Empress Wei thought Li Jie was an innocent type, he never thought that he was like this. So this was the reason why Delun called him a fox.

Li Jie didn't know he was spied since Empress Wei was also good at hiding, so he made his way into the Liu manor.

Underneath his black veil, an evil grin marked his innocent face. He leaped towards the window facing him and glared intensely.

Inside, Lady Mingmei was hot-heated and scared at the same time. She wished that Li Jie was dead. But, she couldn't do it since the guards she ordered were all beheaded, except for one. But it was sure that that servant already betrayed her.

She wanted him dead and marry Delun on her own.

But to her delusions, the devil was outside the window glaring at him.

"Oh look, the bitch is here." Li Jie clicked his tongue in annoyance and opened the window. Mingmei was scared as he looked at the black figure entered the window.

"You even fantasized my husband? How dare you lusted him? Pei! You even send someone to kill me, so you could marry him? In your dreams!" Li Jie glared and raised his dagger to her.

"What are you doing?! You wanna kill me? Let's see if my father hear this! He will cut you to shreds!" Mingmei said and pointed desperately at him.

"Kill? Hmm, kill huh..." He silenced and in a few seconds, he laughed like a madman.

"That rotten old man can kill me? Tsk, I bet that old man will be dead soon anyway. How scary of you to threaten me. And yeah, I really don't like that old man of yours, but I really don't like your mouth. So, how if I'll keep your mouth shut for the rest of your life?" Li Jie glared and took off his veil. Mingmei saw the spawn of Satan that night.

Li Jie really hated this family the most. This bitch's father even attempted to kill him, hurt his servant to the point that Li Wei almost died. This bitch also attempted to kill him to marry Delun. He was so goddamn pissed.

He was not supposed to be a lunatic anymore, but they provoked Li Jie in such a way that he couldn't even describe how madhe was. His criminal side seemed to explode inside of him. He needed to vent all of this madness to the people who hurt his loved ones. And adding to this matter, the girl in front of him really annoyed him the most.

Li Jie clenched the dagger and dashed towards her. He was like an unleashed monster, not caring who was that person in front of him. In his eyes, the girl in front of him was just like a mere cockroach.

She wanted to scream, a dagger passed through her mouth and cut her tongue.

"AHHH!" Mingmei screamed, her voice could be heard from outside. Li Jie threw a note as he leaped through the window and covered his face again. But, an evil grin escaped from his poisonous mouth.

'You harmed my servant, now I harmed your daughter. One comes for a price, Minister Liu.'

"Not interesting at all." He uttered as he ran away. He didn't want to hurt people that's why he remained silent. But, hurting the people who cared for him was out of the question.

Because, this was the one and most overwhelming reason to unleash his demon side.

Wei Haoxuan, who witnessed Li Jie's ferociousness was glued to the spot. He was scared of him. At the same time, he admired him. He finally knew why the General fell in love with him.

He was as dangerous as he thought he would be.
