《THE CUNNING VIGILANTE》40. Sullky Wife

The very next morning, the sulky wife puffed his cheeks, ignoring his dumb husband. Last night, Li Jie tried his best to distract his husband with his seductive beauty, pretended to be asleep and was assuming that his husband would ravage his little body. Who knows that his husband got asleep as soon as he went to bed? He only got a peck in the forehead. Li Jie felt the essence of bittersweet throughout the night.
He admitted that he felt an itch within his heart but was left unsatisfied. However, he thought to himself. Why was he in such a hurry? Delun respected him as his wife and the love of his life, but Delun doesn't know how Li Jie treated him yet. Delun doesn't know Li Jie's feelings towards him. It would be bad if Delun didn't get it permission if he proceed successfully last night. If he were Delun, he would feel awful too. So, Li Jie thought that it's better to cultivate and clarify their relationship first.
Howbeit he couldn't help himself getting disappointed.
'I still have to work hard!' Li Jie comforted himself.
Although he couldn't help himself but to ignore him, so he chose to keep silent and try to forget what happened last night.
"Honey..." Delun muttered as he hugged his wife from behind. However, Li Jie didn't respond and was growing mushroom above his head.
"Did I do something wrong?" Delun's voice was like a gentle breeze in the morning, smooth and soothing. Li Jie's heart itched and gripped tightly at his hanfu.
'How should I tell him?'
'Bro! I love y... I love... Why is it so hard to confess?!'
"No-nothing." Li Jie blushed fiercely until his face grew fiery red. Li Jie wanted to announce the world that he liked him, however why is it that he was tongue-tied?
Is confessing this hard? Li Jie screamed in his thoughts.
Delun on the other hand, was aggrieved when he saw his wife's upsetting face. He was deeply scared that he might did something wrong that could make Li Jie leave. So, he hugged him tightly on the back and rested his chin on Li Jie's shoulders.
The more Delun acted like this, the more Li Jie's heart quickened his heart palpitation. Telling himself to calm down, but he couldn't do so. He loosened Delun's grip and turned himself to him. Delun's height was half head taller than him, making him looked upward to stare at Delun's deep, phoenix eyes.
Li Jie was in a daze as he stared at Delun's eyes. The amount of fire in his body increased and was blazing aflame. He lifted up his hand and circled his finger, only the index finger stayed uowards and poked Delun's left cheek. Delun was stunned when Li Jie acted this way towards him. Li Jie staring lovingly to him like this, does that mean that Li Jie has feelings for him too?
But he can't assume. If his assumption failed, wouldn't it be hurtful for him? And for Li Jie as well, he wants to honor him, and cherished his wife as if he was the most delicate treasure in the world. In other words, he deeply respected Li Jie as his only love in his life.

How could he took advantage of him this way? He couldn't do that, not now or never. All he wanted was for his wife to love him back, that's all.
As for Delun himself, he wanted to change. He admitted that he was a scum, self-centered, and a person wasn't worth to love for. But, for his love, he wanted to let go of his past and gave his all to his wife.
He loved Li Jie so much, but this marriage was a negotiation and not for real love. If possible, if fate ties them, he wanted to remarry Li Jie. This time, it was not for negotiation, but for the sake of love.
So, even just a little bit, he wanted Li Jie to see him as a man, as a person who genuinely love him to death and not the scum general he thought what Li Jie had imagined.
He wanted to tell Li Jie his self, all his flaws, all his weaknesses. But at the same time, he was afraid. For what he have done to his brother before, attempting to kill the crown prince for the sake of greediness, for his dark side, will Li Jie continued to stay by his side?
Delun hated himself in the past for being toxic. It is also the reason why he lost his friend, more like a brother. But the most terrible part is that his friend kept the things he had done for the sake of friendship, and he never revealed it even once.
Delun felt pained and he wanted to cry. If he told Li Jie about this, would he still stay?
Li Jie noticed Delun's unhappiness and he was startled. What was he thinking? He asked himself in his thoughts. However, he was being stared intensely that he was getting shy.
"Delun, is there something on my face?" Li Jie raised his palm and touched his own cheek, deeply concerned for his face if he had impurities sticking on his skin. Deli softened his gaze and caressed Li Jie's hair.
"Nothing, you look beautiful today." Delun said and hugged him. Because Li Jie faced the opposite direction, he didn't noticed Delun's sourness. A single tear trickled his left eye. He immediately wiped it with his palm silently and let go the pitiful young man who was being crushed by him. Delun smiled as if nothing happened and ushered Li Jie to take a bath. Because Delun said so, Li Jie rushed to the bathroom like a person injected with chicken blood, leaving Delun in their room.
Seeing Li Jie's liveliness, Delun felt the warmth within his heart amd had an urge to protect Li Jie more. Seeing his wife like this was totally a complete foul.
Inside the bathroom, Li Jie breathed heavily and touched both of his cheek face. So hot, so warm, as if someone had poured hot water from it. The heat from his face traveled to his nape, he instantly got thirsty.
'Stop being so impulsive!' He thought. He shook his head and took a bath. He put a bit of lavender scented perfume in the water and the steam filled the room with the fresh picked lavenders in the meadow. He was satisfied, he then undressed himself and went in the tub, naked.

As he finished bathing, he put on his bathrobe and walked out of the bathroom. He saw Delun on his desk, reading the scrolls about who knows who. As Delun heard rhe familiar footsteps, he raised his head and gave Li Jie a stare. Delun smiled and got up, hugged the young man in his arms and sniffed his neck.
Li Jie blushed and held his breath. He then let out a sigh and said: "Be good, I'm going to change my clothes first." He patted Delun's back and as his face went red in instance.
"Okay, let's have our breakfast together after you're finished." Delun said dotingly and released the young man in his arms. Li Jie smiled and opened the wardrobe.
He really hated these pastel colored robes but now, he wouldn't mind dressing up with this if he looked good. He knows he looked good in these colors, and he wanted to look good in front of him.
He picked the light purple colored robe and dressed himself. Seeing his feminine face in the mirror made his mouth twitched, but he didn't care right now as long as Delun fancied him.
When he finished, the two had their meals happily. Li Jie was happy being served by Delun and was contented about his living cushion. Ah! What life? This was heaven!
His smile reached up to his ears as he was being fed by his husband, the kangaroo heart of his was beating harshly that any movement made him want to jump in the mountain and fly. But then, he retracted his thought because he doesn't want to die yet. .
Seeing Li Jie like this, Delun was happy. He was willing to be a henpecked husband just for him.
"Delun, in the house near the flower garden, who lived there before?" Delun said as he chewed the chicken wings from his mouth. Delun lowered his gaze on Li Jie's lips and saw the stain from the chicken wings on the corner of his lips. He wiped it with his thumb and licked it, resulting Li Jie being petrified.
This hooligan!
"Hmm? That house?" Delun asked as Li Jie nodded shyly. Since when did he became this sissy?
"That... That's where my uncle lived before." Delun replied hesitantly and stuffed Li Jie's mouth with food again as he saw his wife opened his mouth begging for rice and chicken wings.
As Li Jie chewed, he then thought about the pendant he discovered yesterday. The pendant was so valuable that someone wanted to steal it from that house.
"Delun, yesterday, I saw some spies around your house." Li Jie then opened his mouth again after he swallowed the food. Delun wringled his brows as he fed him again.
"It seems that I was being watched yesterday and coincidentally saw him fled. However, I was sure that he arrived there first than me, he was just hiding in the shadows. You say that your manor was heavily guarded, but why did that man entered skillfully?" Li Jie looked at Delun's wrinkled brows and lifted up his finger to massage the center of his eyebrows.
"Someone spied you yesterday? Why didn't you tell me sooner?" Delun asked in a worried tone.
Li Jie snorted. 'You didn't even eat me because you fell asleep. How could I tell you?'
But he couldn't voice it out and only screamed in thoughts. He was still sulky but he suppressed it.
"You arrived late. I fell asleep." He said as he chewed the rice with chicken wings sulkily.
"It's still possible being infiltrated, unless he was from the inside of the manor." Delun said coldly and ate the portion of his food. He saw Li Jie opened his mouth again and was amused how Li Jie depending on him.
"That's too shameless!" Li Jie raised his voice as his husband patted his shoulder.
"Yes, too shameless." He chuckled, showing his side dimple. Li Jie looked at his happy husband and at the same time, he thought endlessly on how handsome his husband was.
"Honey, it's bad for you being alone. Let your brother accompany you today."
After Delun said those words, Li Jie then felt blissful as he mentioned his brother again. Li Jie didn't saw his brother Min Zhe recently, and couldn't figured out why this happened when he worked in the manor.
Li Jie then hummed happily and ended their meal with a bloated stomach. It seems like he ate too much again. He glared at his husband for making him fat.

"Guard your brother when I'm not at home. Someone infiltrated the manor yesterday and Li Jie was lucky that the criminal didn't hurt him. As for this matter, call Jiao-long to investigate about this." Delun said as he faced Min Zhe.
"Your Excellency, Jiao-long went for a mission and didn't came back right now. Let me investigate it while I guard the Young Madame." Min Zhe said hesitantly as he bowed his head. He still wanted to murder this hooligan but he suppressed it for now.
'Jiao-long went for a mission?' Delun was bewildered at what he just heard from Min Zhe. He didn't gave him a mission.
"Okay then." Min Zhe bowed respectfully and went out of the office.
That man always disobeyed him, but he knows he wasn't the traitor. He must have his reason for leaving. But now, the main problem is that traitor.
Spying on his wife? He sure has guts! His gaze went cold as he clenched his fist.
He was mad right now.
