《THE CUNNING VIGILANTE》37. On The Move

After he realized how he acted towards the Young Madame, Jiao-long's faint smile pursed. He stretched out his hand, helping Li Jie get down. Seeing the guard's hospitality, he held out Jiao-long's hand to get down the carriage.
As soon as Li Jie went out of the carriage, Li Jie then loosened his hand and looked at the pharmacy with excitement. It has been so long since he visited the pharmacy. He also missed his older brother so much.
However, the other party went stiff as he held out Li Jie's hand. He forgot where he was and his mind was constantly floating. Despite his expressionless face held a deep affection towards the Young Madame. Albeit the Young Madame was oblivious about his affection.
Jiao-long felt happy inside. Even though he knew that his love was pointless, he could still be at his Young Madame's side as his strong knight.
This alone was enough.
He looked at the happy young man with an eye patch on his left eye as he went in of the pharmacy.
As soon as he went in, he immediately searched for his older brother. Cheung Chao, who was counting gloomily was shocked at his worker's words that Li Jie was outside. He immediately rushed outside and saw his younger brother's body standing in front of him. Li Jie's adorable face and his wide smile faced his brother. Brother Chao's worries and agony immediately washed away and was replaced by his brother's smile.
"A-jie..."
"Chao-ge!"
The two hugged tightly to each other. The two didn't see each other for so long, one could see how Cheung Chao was worried and at the same time, yearned for his brother. Even Li Jie, even though he didn't spend so much time with him, but he could tell that he was attached to his Chao-ge.
Also, the reason of this is because the other Li Jie was attached to his brother Chao a lot. At least, it was his own opinion.
"Chao-ge, I didn't visit you quite often, are you doing alright? Do you miss your beautiful brother?" Li Jie asked smilingly as he he still clung to his brother's neck tightly.
"Of course, how could I not? I raise this naughty big baby and suddenly, he's taken away from me. How could I not miss you?" Chao-ge's words engraved deep inside Li Jie's heart. He then recalled his father Cheung in the past. Sometimes he wonder, what are they doing these days? But his worries flew away when he met his brother's embrace.
"Brother, I'm going to cry." Really, he really wanted to cry. In his past life, Cheung Chao was cold to the outside but was a soft marshmallow on the inside. So, even though he knew that his father Chao liked him, they were not as close as his other fathers. But, he taught him other things, even though he was too strict sometimes.
Now, he found his brother Cheung the same as his father. Even though his appearance is as soft as a marshmallow as well as his heart, he knew that his soul is as soft as a pillow too just like his father Chao, even though his father Chao is rough as a stone in the outside.
In short, he regarded his Chao-ge as a human fluff.

"Oh right, did you get here alone? You don't have company?" Chao-ge asked. Li Jie then forgot his guard outside basking in the sun. The carriage driver was okay since he had shelter and food. But his guard...
Come to think of it, Li Jie thought that the guard was still angry about that punch to the guard's eye. Will he be angry even more when he forgot him? He even basked him under the radiant sun.
Li Jie was distressed.
Li Jie hurriedly ran outside to see the guard. Jiao-long, who was guarding the carriage was stunned seeing Li Jie getting flustered as he ran towards him.
'Is there something wrong?' He thought.
"What's wrong Young Madame?" Jiao-long hurriedly asked. He doesn't quite get it why his Young Madame ran so fast as if he was being chased by dogs.
"Sorry, I forget about you. Come! My brother said he'd prepare drinks for us! It's quite bad for me that I didn't treat the one who accompany me here."
"But..."
"Come on! Hurry up!" Li Jie dragged the pitiful guard inside.
The guard who was petrified by Li Jie's touch sighed helplessly. His Young Madame sure was stubborn. He let himself dragged by Li Jie inside.

On the Palace, Delun, Chen Guang, Zhang Wei, Chun Fai and His Majesty the Emperor, Wang Yong discussed the matters regarding in the border. The increase of thieves soared higher than before. The Emperor was distressed and his temples throbbed as he kept thinking about it.
Chen Guang sighed and looked at them. He then opened his mouth and speak. "As I went through their small meeting, Minister Liu didn't say that much like what I have expected. However, I confirmed that the treasury that was supposed to be in the palace were in his shed. I don't quite get what's on his head. Sometimes I wonder, he maybe have no brain or he really didn't have brain. Or we could also say that this Minister Liu might deceive us in the back. I can't get through him at all."
Chen Guang sneered with disdain and continued, "Also, this treasury he stole, was only a small pint of gold towards his true goal. And I suspect that the treasury he stole was a diversion for his true intentions. At least, this is a matter that I solved on my own."
"What do you mean? You say that Minister Liu have something other than stealing the palace's treasury? That this was only a small diversion for his true intentions? If so, what could it be Sire Chen?" Chun Fai elaborated. To tell the truth, he was quite lost about Chen Guang's predicament.
"What I say is this matter is only a small part of his true plan. As I went there, Minister Liu's expression didn't change. As if that palace's treasury was as unimportant as a shit. Though, I too quite pondered what his true plan since he didn't speak anything from the meeting."
"And?" Delun replied. Chen Guang looked indifferently at Delun and continued.
"Whatever what his intentions are, he wants it all for himself. And he was only using the other ministers as a pawn for his plan. He uses other ministers' emotions to stimulate their hatred to the Empire court." Chen Guang explained. Wang Yong furrowed his brows and looked at Chen Guang. It is estimated that the palace's treasury was the heart of the entire Qin Kingdom. Without it, the nation may fall. And Chen Guang said that the palace's treasury was not Liu Ming's goal? If so, what was the Minister up to? Is there more valuable than the palace's treasury?

If so, what could it be?
"General, we may have encountered troubles in the border. So, you know what I'm saying right?" Wang Yong said. In fact, Delun expected this to the Emperor. However, what about his wife? This crisis may take a month or more, and he was worrying about his wife than the crisis.
Delun wanted to hesitate, but he didn't have a choice. However, just as he was about to speak, Chen Guang proposed to the Emperor about his plan.
"Your Majesty, I think it's not suitable for the General to leave the manor for now. What if someone attacked their manor if he's gone? It would surely cause a lot of trouble if something happened." Chen Guang said. Although the General really didn't have a choice. But Chen Guang was a father too. If something happened to his youngest child, that would be the greatest regret he will encounter for the rest of his life. He lost his beloved once. He doesn't want to lose anyone again.
Especially that dear child who looks exactly like his mother. Even though his child didn't know him, at least he could protect this child from the trouble.
He never asked for forgiveness, because this was what he deserved. He will suffer with his other children's hatred and the youngest child's oblivion.
"Then Chief Censor Chen, what should we do?" Zhang Wei asked. Chen Guang thought this for a while and speak. "Your Majesty, if you'd like, I would like to request to volunteer myself into the border. I would like you to declare an imperial edict and be stamped by you and the General to manipulate the military under your command through me." Chen Guang boldly said. The Emperor wanted to oppose, not just them, the other who were present in the meeting too.
Zhang Wei immediately answered, "But Sire Chen, it's too risky. You are a Chief Censor, not a soldier."
"But I was once the right hand of the former General. I too, was a soldier." Chen Guang said with a hint of determination. Delun looked at him, and lowered his eyes. He couldn't help but to think, what is he up to? His older brother also told him that Chen Guang was not an enemy. But Delun couldn't predict what he wanted to do.
However, he trusted his brother. So he didn't regard Chen Guang as suspicious.
Then after the meeting, Chen Guang received an imperial edict stamped by the Emperor and the General of Qin.
"Thank you Your Majesty for giving me an opportunity. I will end this crisis as the best as I can." Chen Guang kowtowed. The Emperor smiled and said slowly.
"Then, this Majesty will wait for your success. Be careful on the way." The Emperor said. Chen Guang got up from the kneel and bowed once more. The other ministers sighed and the General looked at him.
Chen Guang's eyes met Delun, and Delun could see the slightly indifferent sight of Chen Guang. Chen Guang blinked and replaced his indifference with a smile. He dispersed just like the other ministers for the meeting was adjourned for a while.
Delun lowered his head and sighed, this minister sure knows how to give people an ache in the head.
Just as he was about to go, he looked back at the calm Emperor who was sipping his tea on the meeting table.
"Your Majesty..." Delun said to the Emperor. The corners of the Emperor's mouth twitched and sighed heavily.
"I said not to do honorifics when there's no occasion. Sometimes I really wanted to knock you in the head." Wang Yong grinned and sipped his tea.
"So, what's the General worrying about?" The Emperor asked and looked at Delun.
"Is your decision okay? Sending Chen Guang to the military, do you think it's risky?" Delun asked.
"Yeah, it's risky. However, I trust his instincts. His mind is as powerful as you think." Wang Yong said. Delun lowered his gaze and thought of his wife.
Cunning as a fox, meek on the outside, but a trickster on the inside. Well he is a Chen, he inherited his father's cunningness.
Delun chuckled causing the Emperor to be shocked. What did he just do that made Delun laugh? He really couldn't get the General's mind.
"What's wrong?" Emperor Wang raised his brows and asked. Sometimes his friends had a whack in the head, especially that four seasons guard (because his mood changes, just like the seasons all the time lol) that always shocked him to death.
"Nothing, thinking about my wife."
"Go now." Emperor Wang wanted to shoo him away or else he'll became a chatterbox and speak nonstop on how adorable his wife was.

The night was cold and breezy.
On Chen Guang's manor, Chen Guang played a flute. The melody was sad and melancholic, the grief of his heart depicted on that of the music, although that music was a signal. And after he played, six group of people dressed in black appeared in front of him.
"Is everything goes well as planned?" Chen Guang asked. The men dressed in black clothes that only their eyes were shown nodded their heads as they kneeled in one leg.
"Tell me the details."
"Sire, Minister Liu asked us himself and we agreed just a you planned. He asked as to infiltrate the border and prepare for an ambush." The familiar voice had rang his ears, and he knew it was his disciple. Jiao-long said calmly as he reported.
"Then, be prepare for a show tomorrow. This will going to be fun." Chen Guang laughed like a madman as he swayed his flute like a sword.
"Go back now and go to the border. Do as what I've command." Chen Guang smiled coldly and said.
He really wanted to tear that shit into pieces. He dared to hurt his children, then he should suffer thrice than what he did.
And as he command, the group of six disappeared in the air.

Bloody Hell
Alan Maxwell has one exceptional talent. He can read peoples body language and micro expressions so well that, in many cases it's not hard for him to fake being psychic. When a foreign agency decides that said talent would make him an exceptional spy, events quickly begin to spiral out of control. With enemies on all sides, and friends that will as soon kill each other as his enemies, Alan will have to put his skills to the test in the ultimate game of cat and mouse. ===I came up with this story in response to a question. I once asked someone why there weren't really any Yandere harems. I realize that the answer to that is 'everyone dies' but thats boring so... here we are. A story I came up with explicitly as an excuse to create a harem entirely out of obsessive psychopathic axe murderers. Or in other words - "What happens to Bond girls when they disappear?"As a warning, there are sex scenes. Its tagged. I'll leave an authors note at the top of any chapter that has them if you'd prefer to skip it.

The Wild Touch
The world of Delmathar has many conflicts and plots that span over the whole world and even into the war torn oceans. That’s not even taking into account that the world is a candidate in the Realm wars… but that’s a story for another day. Instead we will follow the story of how a goddess’s botched attempt of using a weak earth soul to make powerful Grafter for her mother, ends up empowering an unsuspecting little boy. The boy who is called Nosal Brownwhisker, who happens to be a peaceful little buttonless-shirt loving little Capyban. And as the Brownwhisker family tries to juggle their everyday lives on their monster ranch and hiding little Nosal’s secret, more and more developments keep popping up in the village of Pancreedy that makes life more.. interesting. Author’s notes:This is my first fiction and I understand it will suck. Hopefully you will find it to be enjoyable enough to hang around. There’s not going to be any epic world-ending fights or any stuff like that, just some shenanigans generally with the story progressing very slowly as it changes from many viewpoints. The world of Delmathar may seem funky for now so I will promise a glossary every 15 chapters. The wild touch will be updated at least twice a week, with me having no backlog of chapters. So if I get mobbed at work or get sick I will let you know in my notes on a short chapter. I hope you enjoy, and thank you for the people who support me, give me encouragement and pointers.
