《Dark Lord》Chapter 53/Final Chapter

A light descended upon the battlefield, everyone froze in confusion, even as they were fighting one another.
Yu Xi didn't know what was going on until a stabbing pain in her heart made her stagger. No! Something had happened to RuJin.
Her eyes widen, her hand trembled as she looked towards where the light seemed to be coming from. Wasn't that were RuJin had rushed towards?
Please, no....Not again. But even as those words echoed deep within her heart, she knew that something she couldn't reverse had happened.
Yu Xi's first reaction was to look towards Mo Xin before teleporting away. She knew that Mo Xin should've understood what she meant.
As she reached that place, the light had already faded. Yu Xi scanned the area, spotting something small lying on the ground. Then, as she turned her head, she saw blood not far from where the small item seemed to be laying.
As she stepped foot upon the small pavilion, her heart shattered. No matter how long it had been, she still recognized the small pendant that laid on the ground.
With shaking hands, she reached for it, suppressing her tears with all her might. As she grabbed ahold of it, she put it close against her chest, her tears finally unable to be held back, slipped from her eyes like a waterfall.
"Why?" Yu Xi whispered, her eyes stained with tears, her beautiful face was dyed in grievance. Her hands wrapped tightly around the small yet gorgeous pendant, gripping it until her fingers turned white.
"Why, Heaven?!" Yu Xi was no longer whispering. Instead, with all her might, she screamed towards the heaven, hoping that they would have sympathy and hear her words.
"Why would you take someone like him?! Why him!? After all the sufferings that he had gone through, you, Heaven, should know that someone like him would've never become like this if you hadn't wrote his fate to be so. You wrote his fate, you decided everything for him, and yet, you ripped his happiness away from him so many countless times. You should've took me instead, someone like my brother has experienced too much sadness. So why him and not me?" Yu Xi fell into her knees, the strength from her legs crashing down, and cried. Again and again, she whispered the same sentence, "Why him and not me?"
After a few moments passed by, her cries became quieter, and finally, she wiped away her tears. Yu Xi stood up, putting on a smile that was filled with sorrow. Staring at the far distance, her eyes seemed to dim.
"Brother, I hope that you know, I love you. You will always remain my brother deep in my heart and nothing will be able to replace that. Nothing can take away the fact that you had loved me with all your heart, so much that you were willing to turn to the dark side to get revenge for Mother and I. But, I think that at one point you wavered too, right? Because of him, because of ShuYan."
"Though I was young then, even I knew that the way you two looked at each other had been different. And so, I hope that in another lifetime, you two will find each other, and be able to love without being separated. This is my only wish for you, so please, find your happiness, my foolish brother." As she said this, she looked at the pendant once more, and grasping it in one hand before she spotted the guqin sitting on a small table. With small steps, she walked towards it, putting the pendant by it.

Her head turned to look at the pile of blood, before waved her hand, the blood disappearing. Yu Xi took one step, then froze as she thought she had saw something at the corner of her eyes, only to find that there was nothing.
With a heavy sigh escaping her mouth, she ascended towards the sky, carrying her silent grief with her.
As Yu Xi returned to the battlefield, seeing the blood painted ground, with her hands, she put a stop to everyone's movement.
"Please, stop fighting now." Yu Xi's voice echoed on the silent battlefield, everyone looked at her. Seeing that she had their attention, she was about to speak when Xi WeiLong spoke.
"Until the Dark Lord is killed, until we know that he is died, we will never-"
"He's dead," Yu Xi cut him off, "He's already dead, so stop fighting at this moment. If you keep on dragging things along, only more people from your side will be hurt. Let's peacefully end everything, and I promise that our people will never interfere in the matters of the sects nor the nations anymore." Yu Xi clenched her fist, blood dripping down.
Mo Xin staggered back into Xue Yi's embrace. What did Yu Xi just say?
"Yu Xi, what do you mean?" Mo Xin asked, her eyes shaking and her voice violently trembled as Xue Yi held onto her. Next to her, Xue Yi had a cold face on, but his eyes couldn't hide the pain from deep within.
"The Dark Lord is of no more."
~thirty years later~
The figure of a woman was seen, she sat on a chair, a bottle of wine on the table with a cup of wine in her hand as she peered towards the sky, remembering thousands of memories. She sighed, her eyes filled with grief and sorrow.
"Brother, thirty years have already passed by since your death, how are you now? Thirty years passed by, and before I even knew it, things have begun to change. The sects have slowly, but surely began changing themselves, and the dark cultivators are no longer hated as much. Although I was told to take over your position, even as I spent my years experiencing how it felt in your footsteps, even as I was put upon the road you chose, I still would never forget the day you had left this world."
"In these past years, Mo Xin has been doing well. She gave birth to two sons and one daughter. She and Xue Yi are still remaining youthful even as thirty years have already gone by. But then again, none of us will age anymore."
"I can't believe that so much time has passed by. I guess, no matter what happens, time can only continue moving forward. Brother, I have finally found someone I can love and he wholeheartedly loves me back, I'm planning to get marry to him in ten days. I just wonder how you are doing now."
A brief silence was left in the air.
"Brother, honestly, I really miss you....." As Yu Xi said that, her voice broke, and she tipped the cup of wine in her hand, pouring it onto the ground.

As Yu Xi continued to look at the moon, Mo Wan, who had been standing in the shadows began speaking.
"Your nieces and nephews have been looking for you, so has Menghui, don't keep them waiting for too long." Mo Xin said, her eyes looking at the bottle of wine, understanding what Yu Xi had done.
"You know that he wouldn't want us to be sad and mourning his death forever."
"I know," Yu Xi took one last look at the moon before she began walking away.
You must live well, brother.....
Wu Luiyin looked towards the sky. Thirty years have already passed, time has already flown by. It's been thirty years since RuJin was pronounced dead, gone from this world.
He smiled softly, his eyes dull.
He was truly a scum, wasn't he?
Well, he already knew the answer himself. If he hadn't treated RuJin like how he had, just how different would everything had been?
In the end, his greed got to him, and his mind became clouded. Because he wanted a child so much, he sacrificed the man who had saved him back in that forest. The person who had saved him twice. He knew he was to blame, and, he was actually hoping that he would be punished for his cruel actions.
But the will of fate, nothing could be done. Since he couldn't do anything to atone for his mistake, then Wu Luiyin will live. He will live, bearing the weight of his crimes until the day that he could no longer breath. Only then, would he finally forgive himself.
Only then, would his mistakes be cleared away.
Mo Wan held a small baby in her hands, her face smiled ever so gently. Standing by her side, Wang Long held a bowl of iced plums.
"Are you done with everything?" Mo Wan asked, turning her eyes to look at her husband.
Wang Long smiled back, "Yes, are you sure you want to visit them?" His eyes were filled with a twinge of worry.
Mo Wan merely sighed. "It was my fault. Everything. The Dark Lord is of no more, and neither is my brother. I don't want to lose my sister too. Thirty years, I have already thought deeply into my heart about my decisions. I was wrong. Now that my mother and father have secluded themselves in their cultivation, I want to take this chance to meet Mo Xin once more. I still have to introduce her to our daughter."
Wang Long didn't give his thoughts, only saying, "Alright then, since you said so, I will do so. Just take it easy though, it's only been two months since you've given birth."
"I know," Mo Wan held her baby in her arms, her eyes turning to look at the nights sky.
To the brother who I betrayed, I am sorry for not trusting you then. It's funny how I had once saved you, but was also the one to turn against you. I....don't deserved to be called your sister. But, I want to tell you that I've given birth to a daughter, and I have already been married to Wang Long for twenty years. Father and mother have been in seclusion for over one year now, and I have no idea when they will come back out. I promise to make amends with Mo Xin, and will do anything in my power to ask for forgiveness. I.....I am sorry for everything that I have done to you.
~in a different world~
In a different universe, or what can be consider time, a man laid on the hospital bed. His eyes were closed and his body laid quietly in the room, the heartbeat monitor was the only sound that could be heard.
Just then, footsteps could be heard entering the room. A handsome man opened up the door, pulling up a chair as he sat by RuJin's side. The man lying on the hospital bed was RuJin. And the other man was ShuYan.
"RuJin, wake up. The doctor said that you should be fine after one more week, you need to eat your dinner." ShuYan smiled softly as he said so, his hand reaching up to caress RuJin's face.
RuJin opened his eyes as soon as he heard those words. His heart in a mess and his mind chaotic.
RuJin looked at ShuYan, confusion in his eyes and worry still clouding it. "ShuYan......I had a weird dream."
ShuYan raised his brow, asking, "Dream?"
RuJin nodded his head. "Yes, it was so weird and crazy, it almost felt real."
"Really? Well, no matter what, just know that I love you. And also, you have to get well soon. After all, it has already been so long." ShuYan knocked his knuckle onto RuJin's head playfully.
RuJin only smiled softly, his eyes filled with many emotions as he stared at the man who he loved the most in this world. Though everything they went through was so harsh, he was glad that he had met ShuYan even though they went through so much pain.
ShuYan looked at the man who smiled, a smile so beautiful, ShuYan couldn't help but smile too. This person, he had loved this person for so long. Even though it took so long for them to meet again, ShuYan did not care how long it would take as long as he was able to meet this man once again.
"I love you, ShuYan."
"I love you too, RuJin."
Through thick and thin, I will follow.
No matter what happens, I will always listen to your words.
Though it took so long for us to meet again, let's love until the end.
I will find you in every one of our lifetimes, and continue this love of ours.
Your struggles and obstacles, all of those have only made me love you more.
So, even when this lifetime ends, I will still fight to find you.
Because I love you more than anything else in this world,
Dark Lord.......

Soul's Curtain
The mortal land bordered by two worlds, one of immortals and the other of ceaselessness. As Illias Finn remains bound within the cell of an abandoned prison the curtain calls its chosen to descend into it's embrace. To be honest I will just write and upload whenever i feel like it, but if i find it getting relative success I can try write a bit more. This will just be a write, read then upload kind of thing for me while i try to flesh out more worldbuilding. I'm pretty novice when it comes to writing just a few years of secondary english under my belt but hardly any of that's creative. NGL, a lot of this world building is inspired by Tower of God or other fiction i have read, especially the tower-like setting.

The Fracture
It was a normal day for the inhabitants of ERT-5901, more commonly known by the populace as Earth. A beautiful planet with lush resources and fertile land, well at one point anyways. Children were born, the elderly died, and Man was as corrupt as ever. But hey, what can you do about that? Can’t change human nature… But that's not the point. Basically the planet was peaceful, for the most part. Certainly they were better off than the species on FTL-3470… We don’t talk about them. Better to leave that book unopened. Anyways, that was all until January 5th of the year 2025. When the sky broke. Fractured. Stunning ocean blue cracks were spotted in the sky all over the planet. A spiders web of cracks and crevices littered the blue skies, tearing all that global peace to shreds. All while Wyatt Walker, a sad example of a human being, was black out drunk in a bar somewhere in LA. This is a post-apocalyptic, portal isekai, high fantasy kind of story set on our very own green Earth! The world has fractured, broken. The inhabitants of ERT-5901 are in for quite the quick and dramatic change in their way of life. Murder, theft, and death have become the norm. Survival of the fittest to the extreme. If you can’t keep up, then good luck playing the game. Hello, Kaiser here! I am the author of this lovely story and I would just like to put a few disclaimers down here. First, English is, in fact, my first language. This by no means I will have perfect grammar and there are bound to be spelling mistakes (please forgive me) and places where I accidentally put plot holes. If you find anything, I would appreciate it if you could let me know so I can fix / change it. I also welcome any constructive criticism or opinions you might have about the story (doesn’t always mean I will change something). Second, I am by no means a professional writer here. Just a confused student who wanted to write something. So, uh, here's my story? Third, if you can’t handle any of the following I recommend you find a different story as I will by no means change any of these topics. [Gore, Profanity, Twisted themes, Dark scenes, and Death] If you’re a sensitive person or a queasy person I would highly recommend a different story. Fourth, I would like to write with freedom so I will by no means be lenient with my writing. I intend to write without mercy. Characters will die, bad things will happen, blood will be spilled, and humans will continue to be humans. I would like to write things as realistically as possible while still having that dash of fantasy. Not everything will be all dark and gloom, there will be happy and funny moments mixed! (Hopefully, not a lot of edge) Enjoy! ッ
