《Dark Lord》Chapter 52

Seeing how RuJin was not getting hurt at all, Feng WangYi began getting frustrated and decided to do something different, something extreme. And most of all, something that would put both of them through unimaginable pain.
He walked quickly and stood behind ShuYan, a dagger in his hand, and he placed it by ShuYan's neck. He was threatening both ShuYan and RuJin, but only RuJin was suffering from it now.
"ShuYan!!" RuJin saw what was happening but right at that moment, he then felt an attack coming from behind him and rushed to defend himself. By then, he was already too late.
Because at that very moment, a piercing pain entered his body and a dagger was imbedded deep into his stomach.
The dagger was pulled out, blood gushing from the wound, and he spat out a mouthful of blood.
He looked up towards the culprit.
RuJin looked at him, his eyes wide with disbelief as he stared at him who had a cold face on while holding onto a dagger that had blood dripping from it, the same face who RuJin loved more than anything. The same face that has smiled towards him, the same person who he had wanted to live with forever.
"Shu.....Yan."
ShuYan blinked, his head hurting, his heart beating wildly. He felt something wet in his hand and he stared down. As he stared at the dagger in his hand, dripping with blood, he looked in front of him.
Seeing who it was, ShuYan's heart felt like it collapsed. Please, no, this couldn't have happened.
The dagger was dropped, falling towards the floor as it bounced off the ground with a clang, seemingly echoing. ShuYan felt pain incomparable, his heart was telling him that he was a betrayer. Before he had even knew it, he had already run and grabbed RuJin, who was about to collapse on the ground.
"No, please, I'm sorry, please, RuJin, I didn't mean to do this," ShuYan begged, as he held onto the body of the man who he had been loving for so long. The man who he had just betrayed with his own hands, the man who he had tried to kill. He held onto him as if he was his last hope in this world. No, RuJin was his last hope in this world, he had always been.

RuJin looked at ShuYan who had now seemed to be conscious and awake, broken free from the spell he had been put under. His face was pale, he was still bleeding and he tried to stop the blood with his hand. He should be healing, but because he was not a righteous cultivator, he did not have the power to heal himself. Because only the righteous cultivators were given that feature, and RuJin was a Dark cultivator. RuJin was a dark cultivator.
"I-" But before RuJin was even able to get his words out, blood dripped from his mouth, and he coughed from the pain he was in. It seems like the injury had hit one of his organs.
"Please, please, don't talk. You'll be fine, I'll make sure of that. This is all my fault, if only I was able to find you, if only I had the power to change everything, you wouldn't be like this. Why? Why couldn't I be stronger to protect you, why couldn't I, why did I have to be the one to hurt you?" ShuYan's face was filled with regret and sadness, but he didn't cry, holding tightly onto RuJin, he whispered these words. He didn't cry because even tears wouldn't be able to express the pain he was going through. Because with his own hand, he had injured the person he sworn to protect.
As ShuYan gently held onto RuJin, his eyes turned red with anger, looking at the person who had begun everything. The person who had controlled him and made him injure RuJin.
With one hand lifted in the air, Feng WangYi was thrown onto the ground as he laughed with joy.
"I've done it, Shi Long, I've don't it. I've killed that man and made sure he felt the worst pain ever. I've gotten my revenge!" Feng WangYi had lost it. He had gone insane, and that made it much easier for ShuYan to kill him.
With those words, ShuYan's anger only grew more, fire added into the fuel.
"You should've never done this, you should've never butted into his life. You and every righteous cultivator that live on this world should've kept to your own business. Because of you, because of all of you, we suffer. The commoners who do not know of anything, the people that the righteous cultivators steal from, taking lives, taking young children away from families, subjecting abuse to young children and to women and men, the treacherous acts you have commit, even death is too easy for you. So that's why, now, I will not kill you, I will merely subject you to the horrors of your crimes, and let them haunt you." As ShuYan said that, a bright light emitted from his head, flying towards Feng WangYi.

Feng WangYi crawled back away with fear, staring at the mirages of face that surrounded him.
"Give me back my daughter, she was only 15 when you people took her away!"
"Give me back my husband, he died a death so cruel because of you!"
"Die, you evil human, for all the crimes you have done to us commoners."
The ghosts of his evil deeds had come back for him. Each of these people had lost a love to him too, but, these people had never done anything wrong in their lives, and that was the difference between him and RuJin.
ShuYan no longer paid attention to Feng WangYi, instead, he held RuJin in his arms
RuJin, who had been conscious the whole time, stretched his hand out towards ShuYan's face as ShuYan looked deep into his eyes, pain clearly written in them.
"It's alright, don't blame yourself," RuJin said, his voice weak and faint, but his eyes seem to be calm in the face of death.
"But it is my fault, everything. Everything from the day I had left you to become a cultivator to this moment now. I made a promise to protect you, and yet, I'm the one, who in the end, became the one who killed you." ShuYan held onto the hand that RuJin had on his face, his face filled with pain as he stared at RuJin.
RuJin didn't say anything because he knew that the time he had left was short. So he looked at ShuYan, engraving his face deep into his heart. This love of his was something that he had never been able to express for long, and even now, he wanted so much more time to spend with ShuYan.
But the heavens had never been on his side, and it never will be.
"ShuYan, if there is next life, let's find each other again, and then, let's promise to love each other until the day we grow old together." RuJin said, his eyes getting dimmer and dimmer, his breath came out shallow, but he still spoke.
"You don't even need to tell me that, I will always find you in every lifetime," ShuYan said, hugging RuJin's body even closer as if he wanted him to stay with him.
A few seconds passed by before RuJin spoke again, "I love you, ShuYan."
"I love you too, RuJin."
With that, RuJin's body grew limp, his heart beating slower and slower until it stopped, his breath completely stopping, and ShuYan held onto RuJin.
ShuYan stood up, holding RuJin in his arms.
Holding the man of his dreams in his arms, the man who would never be able to take a breath in this world again, he laughed. His laugh filled with melancholy, yet deep hatred rung and echoed.
"This world, without you, what's the point of continuing to live in it?" As ShuYan's words filled with hatred rung out, a bright light flashed around him.
As the light faded away, the only thing left was the pendant of a dragon surrounded by flames of fire, raising its head as it roared.
The same pendant that was exchanged between a pair, that was once kept by someone along with a promise.
In this lifetime, we weren't able to love.
So until we find each other once again, I will continue to wait.
Even if it may take thousands of years before we find each other, I will continue waiting.
Because in this life, I wasn't able to be by your side for long enough.......
I love you.......
ShuYan........
AN: Hello, everyone, so don't worry, this isn't the end. Although it seems like the book is finished now, there will be one more chapter to finalize their ending. I know that with the way I ended their meeting it makes it seem like the book will not have a happy ending, but I have already planned everything out so don't worry. There's a reason why I added those last five sentences to the chapter. Anyways, thank you for reading this book.

Bloodshed
Every ship has its secrets. The Bloodshed was no different. As its name suggests, this ship had seen its fair share of bloodshed. Originally, the ship was christened The Star of Orion. Over time with all the battles it endured, it quickly became known as Blood of Orion. Eventually, that morphed into the name we know today. The Star of Orion was built as a trade ship but when she was captured by pirates, she was modified and outfitted with anywhere between 15 and 30 guns. She was captained by one of the most fearsome pirates to roam the northeastern coast of North America and the southern coast of Africa, Anwen Wolfe. Anwen was known as the Wolf of the Atlantic. She captured The Star of Orion on its way to London. Little is known about what happened in their final days on the high seas, until now.

Chronicles of Xod (returning from hiatus)
After a long recovery over a chronic motion sickness issue, I feel I'm ready to return to writing this book. It might be slow at first, but I'm hoping to pick up where I left off. I apologize again for the long hiatus. The pages following are a true account. An account of how I, Josh--a teenage nerd from modern suburbia--ended up in a strange world filled with fantastic magic, bizarre creatures, and terrifying dungeons. Despite the troped-up fantasy feel of the world, this is hardly an ordinary tale. For one, don’t expect a happy ending. With the trials I’ve been through, the horrors I’ve seen and the atrocities I’ve committed, believe me when I tell you, this is not a happy tale filled with friendly rainbow bears or teenage flying unicorns. It’s more likely you’ll finish this book mentally scarred as I will not spare the details of my unfortunate adventures. With the help of my trusted companion Gui, I gain an insight that no one else in the world has. This knowledge allows me to exploit and, for lack of a better term, metagame the system which gave me a clear advantage over its residents. “With great power...,” someone might begin to quote to me. In my defense, I think maybe even you, reader, might have acted similarly with how this reality changed my view of good and evil. This story will be updated regularly on Wednesdays around 6 PM. There will only be about 1000 words per update. The focus is to finish the story before doing any major changes or editing. Please read as if this is a work in progress, not a finished product. Feel free to let me know if you see any error, whether glaring or minor. If you help me out, I'll be sure to add you to a thank you list at the front of the book when it is published. Chronicles of Xod is a first-person fantasy novel that follows the adventures of a young man from Earth. Through unknown circumstances, he finds himself in a fantasy world where life is not all wonders and happy endings. The story takes common fantasy concepts from my favorite video games, books and movies and gives them an adult edge. It also introduces some taboo concepts often glossed over by stories written for broad audiences. The style is meant to be immersive and heavily detailed. The short novel will be written in a way that attempts to bring a sense of realism to an unrealistic genre. Where there are realistic consequences and dangers in a world populated with violent monsters, cruel demons, bloodthirsty undead, and immoral bandits. In this fantasy world, the inhabitants are essentially gender blind as far as sexuality is concerned. There is also more variation amongst male and female physiology. This isn't meant to be any kind of promotion or demotion of social behavior in reality. Just a concept I thought would be an interesting idea to have in a fantasy setting. I highly discourage anyone from reading this material if you are personally concerned with being offended or traumatized. Both violent and sexual content will be graphically detailed. All characters involved in sexual scenes are mature and of the age of consent(18+).
