《Dark Lord》Chapter 2

Wu Luiyin watched as the man stepped closer to him. His figure was elegant, as if he was drifting towards him than actually walking. He noticed how the man was slim and sleek, although his height was pretty tall.

He tried to shake the thoughts in his head away. He had to remember that he had someone back at home.

Jin hadn't thought about what the man on his bed was thinking about. Instead he wiped a hand against the man's forehead. Taking the towel off, he looked at the man's wound. Since it wasn't bleeding through, Jin didn't bother to change it.

He stepped away, putting some porridge into a bowl and handed it to the man.

"Here, eat this." Jin said as he gave it to him.

Wu Luiyin suspiciously looked at the bowl for a second, before remembering the fact that the person in front of him could've killed him when he was unconscious. He lifted his hand and took the bowl carefully.

Of course, Jin saw that look on the man. But he didn't really care about it. He had already done this much for a man he didn't even know, so if that man were to suddenly attack him, he sure as heck would be pissed off.

Wu Luiyin took a spoonful of porridge, and noticed how different it was. Unlike palace food, which wasn't as flavorful, the porridge was more flavorful. Though it was flavorful, it also wasn't too much.

"Mind telling me your name?" Jin was the first to spoke up.

Wu Luiyin looked up. He hesitated a first until he noticed no malice on his face. The odd reason was that this man didn't seem to cultivate at all. He couldn't sense any energy coming from him.

"Wu Luiyin." He answered shortly.

"What's your name?" He suddenly asked.

"My name is....Jin." Jin replied after carefully thinking.

Jin. So simple yet neat.

An awkward silence descended into the room. Jin couldn't help but slightly move, unable to bear the awkwardness in the room.

"So, what happened to you?" Jin asked, breaking the silence.

Wi Luiyin almost answered honestly. He didn't know why, but he didn't want to keep any secrets away from him, oddly. Right as he was about to blurt out the real reason, he changed it.

"I encountered spies on my journey back home. I was returning back from war." Wu Luiyin said. He didn't lie that much. The truth was that he was going back home to his wife.

Jin only nodded. He could tell that Wu Luiyin was lying, but who was he to say that. It wasn't like he wasn't lying either.

"How old are you? I'm 18 years old this year." Jin asked. He found out that Wu Luiyin doesn't like to talk much, but he needed more answers.

"I'm 20 years old." Wu Luiyin replied.

Although Jin tried, he couldn't get rid of the awkwardness in this room. Seeking a chance to get out, an idea came into his mind.

"May I get your clothes to wash? There is still blood on there, so you might not want to wear something with blood on it. I can give you some of my clothes." Jin offered.

Wu Luiyin raised his eyebrow as he took off his robe and his undershirt, and handed it to Jin. Jin took it and return with a white undershirt and a white robe.

"Sorry, most of my clothes are white." Jin said, as he handed it to Wu Luiyin.

With that, he turned around, grabbing the clothes off the table and headed towards the river.

After carefully washing them, he took off his clothes on the rope he used to hang them, to dry, and put Wu Luiyin's clothes on it.

Again, he headed into the forest to pick some herbs and vegetables, and also hunted for some meat. He had told Wu Luiyin before before going, just in case he was late.

When he came back, after a long day of hiking, the sun had already began to set. He hurriedly hiked back home.

Wu Luiyin had been waiting for Jin to come home, and when the sun began to set, he started to panic. It had been almost 5 hours since he had been gone. He only sat still because he couldn't really get up, and because Jin had said he would be back.

When Wu Luiyin started panicking, he found it weird for a second. It felt like he had already known this man from somewhere but just couldn't remember. A feeling deep inside his heart told him that he should know this man. Yet, he didn't remember.

As he sat, wondering, Jin opened the door and came in holding some things.

Wu Luiyin was that Jin had already come back, and only then did his heart stop worrying. But then he suddenly felt his heart beat even faster. He already knew what this feeling was. It was the feeling he had when he had first met his wife. But he didn't understand why he felt like this once again.

Days passed, as Wu Luiyin's wound healed. The fact that he was a high level cultivator played a huge role in healing. His wound stopped hurting after two days, and by the then he could already start walking and moving around.

He learnt to open up to Jin and they had gotten to know each other better. Although he was already healed, he didn't want to leave until all evidence of his wound disappeared. But that was only a lie. He didn't know why but he didn't want to leave.

Although he tried to deny that he didn't love Jin, it was becoming harder with each passing day. Unconsciously, his eyes would look towards Jin and notice how beautiful he looked. He didn't understand why, though.

Days were peaceful for Jin. Knowing that Wu Luiyin was healing, meant that it was a good thing. Though, he didn't like having company around, he found it nice to have someone to talk too.

How long has it been since he had saw them?
