Chapter 55 : The Empire Of Wan Rong Part 1
Liu Xiao groaned softly as he opened his eyes and slowly stood up. He looked around the surroundings and lowered his hand to grab his sword beside him, he was inside a large chamber. The walls were painted white and deep brown, the white curtains were slightly fluttering from the wind that passes through the window and the wooden bed were big enough to fit four people at once.
After the mermaid died, Liu Xiao went to the the great hall and put down the beautiful pearl below the chandelier. The pearl them emitted a beautiful light and surges upward the chandelier and a sparkling aura spread over the ocean. The pearl was like a protective beacon that gave life to the dark and dead ocean, the Sea Kings arrived then after.
They told Liu Xiao that they were imprisoned by the Sea Serpent after she knew that her subordinates let mortals enter the Water Palace just to kill her. They were devastated when they knew that their master died and Liu Xiao relayed the mermaid's message to guard the ocean and said that they're finally free to do what they want.
After that, Liu Xiao went back to the highest floor of the Water Palace to go to Wu Qingge and the other's direction. His body was very tired and the fight seemed long, well they stayed awake for almost two days and fought two demon cult leaders in a row! Of course it was tiring. After Liu Xiao arrived on Wu Qingge and the others, his vision turned black and his body didn't respond to him anymore. He lose his balance and fell on Wu Qingge's arms as he fainted.
Liu Xiao closed his eyes to feel his spiritual core while he stood infront of the door. His spiritual core is still half and nothing seemed to change, he thought that maybe it was because of wrongly summoning the mythical bird Huangtian or not enough resting. Liu Xiao opened his eyes again and hanged his sword on the belt on his waist and called.
No one answered. Liu Xiao opened the door infront of him and another door on the other side greeted his sight. Liu Xiao ah-ed and muttered, he glanced at the antique porcelain vase with a beautiful flower arranged on it then glanced at the beautiful painting hanged on the other aide of the wooden wall. Liu Xiao started to walk as he called,

Liu Xiao turned behind him and saw Wu Qingge walking forward with a single tray of food on his both hands, he smiled at him and lead him inside their inn again. Liu Xiao asked while staring at the food and silently drooling.
He hadn't ate in the past two days. He remembered that the last food he ate was the small crackers served on the table back at the brothel in the unnamed town. Wu Qingge gave grabbed each of the bowls and plates then put them carefully on the table as he answered,
Liu Xiao's face turned amused.
Wu Qingge finished putting the bowls and plates and glanced at Liu Xiao with a slight dejection. Liu Xiao laughed at him and patted his shoulder.
Wu Qingge's eyes slightly raised and nodded with a grin, Liu Xiao realized that what he said just now sounds weird and meaningful. He abruptly cleared his throat and started to eat with a chopsticks on his right hand. One of the food served on the table caught his eyes and decided to pick it and murmured,
Dumplings are the only food he knows how to cook because normally, his mother or his eldest brother are the ones who knows how to cook appetizing food on their family. Liu Xiao only learned how to cook dumplings because he sometimes feels hungry at midnight and dumplings are the easiest food and also delicious food for him. It's weird right? Eating dumplings as a midnight snacks.
Well Liu Xiao was always a weird guy. Imagine capturing human snakes as a pet?! Then he's not even adored by those beautiful heavenly beast at the Tian Shou Mountain? And he also said that his snake pets are much cuter than them? Trully weird. Even i, as an author is creeped out—Just kidding. I made this shit how am i gonna be creeped out? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Liu Xiao aggressively chocked when he took one bite of his dumplings. Wu Qingge panicked and hurriedly poured him a cup of tea since it's the only drinks served on the table. Liu Xiao accepted it as he cough loudly and immediately drank it, he let out a sigh of relief and stared at the tea cup. I nearly died.
Liu Xiao changed the topic and continued to eat again.
Wu Qingge seemed to not bring up his cringy memories of giving him food just to make Wu Qingge not kill him in the futured and answered,

Liu Xiao frowned at him.
Wu Qingge smiled and replied,
Liu Xiao abruptly shook his head.
Wu Qingge replied, Oh...Master Mo trust him so much. ( ̄. ̄)
Liu Xiao continued munching on his dumplings as he replied with a mouthful of food.
Liu Xiao poured himself a cuo of tea and started to sip it. Wu Shidi grinned and rested his chin on his hand as he stared at him intently.
Liu Xiao choked again on the second time, this time it was the tea. He repeatedly slapped his chest as Wu Qingge panicked and poured him a tea again. Goddammit, he wants to kill me, right?! This protagonist wants to kill me! (ノ゚Д゚)
Liu Xiao accepted the tea and drank it then wiped the tea on the corners of his mouth with a clean white napkin as he spoke, he said in disbelief.
Wu Qingge looked at him with dejection.
Oh! Don't look at me like that! It's not gonna work! It's doesn't have an effect on me! Liu Xiao answered and looked away.
Wu Qingge's smile became wider and he looked like he just had the best day of his life. The both of them talked a bit more about the battle earlier and after Liu Xiao finished eating, he remembered something.
Wu Qingge looked surprised but he still answered with a smile. Liu Xiao looked at him bitterly as if he had commited an unforgivable sin, he grabbed his outer robe on the wooden bed and wore it as he drag Wu Qingge oitside the inn. Liu Xiao said while he walked forward in the front as he held Wu Qingge's hands at the back.
As soon as they exited the luxurious inn, Liu Xiao glanced at the buildings and people outside. he asked to Wu Qingge.
Liu Xiao nodded as he looked around. he unconsciously blurted out.
Wu Qingge paused.
Liu Xiao eyes widened. Oh crap! He looked away and cleared his throat before answering in a flustered way,
Wu Qingge noticed he was obviously lying and grinned amusingly.
Liu Xiao was curious but didn't dare to ask him, he nodded and replied.
He bought Wu Qingge sugar coated candies, dumplings, fruits and many other things he randomly saw at the streets. But actually Liu Xiao was just picking foods for him and Wu Qingge was the one who was paying. Trully shameless.
He followed Wu Qingge from behind, and the further they walk, they less crowd on the place became. They both ended up on a small wooden hut and Wu Qingge took a few more steps to go to the backyard. There, lies a cracked tomstone that had a word craved on it in a messy and childish way, the tombstone was standing under the old and tall tree, looking as if it were going to crumble into pieces at any time.
Wu Qingge picked a small wild flower blooming beautifully in a bush near him and put it infront of the tombstone. Liu Xiao stood behind him, fingers fidgeting and mouth quietly shut while looking at Wu Qingge caress the tombstone in a gentle way as he treats him.
Wu Qingge turned around at him and spoke with a smile,
Liu Xiao was astounded and stared at the old weakly standing tombstone infront of him. He suddenly remembered that there was one old man who owned a restaurant who adopted Wu Qingge back when he was only a young beggar at the Empire of Wan Rong and died. He swallowed hard and slowly stepped forward to crouch down the tomb and bowed.
Wu Qingge laughed at him.
Liu Xiao reddened and snapped at him.
Wu Qingge chuckled and the two of them crouched on the ground while they both stared at the weakly tombstone infront of him that had a "Adoptive Father Wu Yuan" carved on it messily. Oh...so this is where Wu Qingge got his surname.
Liu Xiao hugged his knees while he sat on the ground and looked at Wu Qingge.
Liu Xiao nodded.
Wu Qingge glanced at him and asked.
Liu Xiao was stunned. he stared down at the ants near the tombstone before speaking,
Wu Qingge looked at him and then glanced back at the tombstone again. For a moment, Liu Xiao thought. Come to think of it....what does Wu Qingge's real parents looked like?

Pawns of God
Five Lines PitchJoin Mark in his fight against a God and change the game's destiny! Delve into a slow-paced story focused on the progression of the main party and the development of the world. Mark himself will be narrating his life inside the game, and to a much lesser extend outside. Guild building, economy, and strategy are the central pieces of the novel. Mark is not overpowered, he will have to build his own power through action-packed battles, trials, traumas, love, and death. Accompany him, the healer and the strategist, an agent of chaos, in the adventure of his life. Without further preamble, I will let Mark take the mic. SynopsisHi! My name is Mark. This is my story, my life as I live it day after day. I’m in my thirties, and there’s nothing I love more than playing online games. I’ve just joined the action on the newest VRMMO game, Pawns of God. An immersive experience you can play while sleeping. Of course, as a game that takes pride in its long development and technological advances, everything inside seems and feels real. Beware, this is not a game-turns-real story. I love my own world and I would detest being summoned into another one. If that ever happens, I’ll just quickly take my life and be done with it. I play with my friends, in a party of 5. We have taken several roles, but lately, I've come to love being a healer. It's my secret ambition to someday be the shotcaller. I am not overpowered. If there is any bug or exploit in the game, they are yet to be discovered. Anyhow, for a game of this scale, the company is pouring all of its resources into test servers, QA, and beta tests. I don’t expect to find any, so I’ll be playing the game just like any other person. I must say, though, I am easily distracted, as you will immediately notice once you start. I'm working on it, I promise to improve! I am no hero. Being in my 30s, my heart is too old for this shit. I wouldn’t mind being one, of course. Who hasn’t dreamt of it? Either way, I’m not doing any grand quest to save the world. Whatever the game throws to their users, I’ll be there to experience it. Most of my life, at least the interesting parts that I’ll be narrating, happen inside the game itself. Rarely, there will be some IRL (In Real Life) chapters. You’ll understand, however, that as a freelance software developer, there is not much I can entertain you with when outside the game. Did I say I love games? Well, I’m also a fan of LitRPG literature. You know, journeys of magic, relationships, personal development, items, skills, discovery… In the spirit of not overwhelming my public, I’ll condense each chapter into circa 1500 words. You might have noticed some tags over this story, let me elaborate. I like to swear. I’m not shy when it comes to cursing my enemies, friends, or even myself. When there’s blood, I tell it as I see it. And… it hurts to admit it, but I’m not a casanova. Of course, this doesn’t mean that I won’t ever find love. So, in case I do end up finding it, let’s keep my sexual options open. As for traumas, none yet, but the future is vast and unknown. Release Schedule The schedule is subject to change, particularly if enough readers end up loving it. All chapters are already written, thus there is enough freedom to modify them. Arc 1 * Chapters 1-14: Each released one day and an hour later than the previous. Starting with chapter 2 at 09:20 UTC+2 on day 1, and finishing at 21:20 UTC+2 on day 13. Elapsed: 2 weeks Total: 2 weeks * Chapters 15-30: Releases every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 11:30 UTC+2. Elapsed: 5½ weeks Total: 7 weeks (1 month, 3½ weeks) * Chapters 31-49: Releases every Wednesday and Saturday at 11:30 UTC+2 Elapsed: 9½ weeks Total: 17 weeks (4 months, 1 week) All subsequent arcs will follow the same release schedule, 2/week.
