Chapter 47 : The Demon Mermad; The Serpent Of The Sea Part 2

Shan Ling called chen y ovr to look at the pitch black ocean. Chen Yi knew that it's better to ignore Shan Ling because she's annoying but for some reason, she went to lean on the edge of the black and purple ship and glanced where Shan Ling is pointing at.

Chen Yi said bluntly with her calm expression.

Chen Yi glanced at the teal colored light down the vast ocean. The tiny light was glowing in and glowing out in a slow pace white it's reflection in the water seems swaying and dancing but it's was actually just standing still under the water.

Chen Yi frowned at the tiny teal colored light and narrowed her eyes to focus her vision solely at it. The tiny teal light that was swaying, dancing and glowing became bigger and bigger until Chen Yi's eyes widened and jumped back and draggd Shan Ling along with her.

No one questioned Chen YI's words and immediately unsheated their weapons while circling their visions around the dark vast ocean.

Liu Xiao who was recently awake witha drool on the corner of his mouth also unsehated his sword and stood.

Liu Xiao insisted.

Wu Qingge only sighed and didn't argue anymore because he knew how stubborn Liu Xiao is when it comes to battle, he doesn't like dragging people down and will most likely help them. But at the times when he himelf is in danger, he didn't seek help for anyone and always tried to solve it by himself.

Liu Xiao:

Chen Yi, Shan Ling, Bai Lan and Lan Yang turned at him with confusion on their faces. Liu Xiao also glanced at them with a puzzled look.

Chen Yi's veins snapped, her frowning eyebrows twitched and the grip on the hilt of her sword clenched tightly as she shouted,

Liu Xiao scaredly hid behind Wu Qingge because of his terror at Chen Yi and replied back,

Chen Yi slapped her forehead in irritation and sighed.

Liu Xiao pouted and frowned behind Wu Qingge. Chen Yi then glanced at Bai Lan and spoke,

Bai lan nodded and infused spiritual qi on his sword and hopped on it to float but as soon as Bai Lan tried to float, the silver spiritual qi that was covering the sword exploded and Bai Lan immediately balanced himself and landed safely on the ship with a thud.

Bai Lan frowned.

Chen Y nodded with an "Mmn." and replied,

Shan Ling pondered beside her,

Before Chen Yi could answer, the water in the vast ocean splashed and a beautiful woman with a raven black hair and a teal colored fish tail jumped on the ship like a dolphin, she smiled sweetly at the people from below in mid air and her sweet laugh reverberated throughout the ocean as she dived down the water.

Lan Yang was in the middle of awe while looking at the beautiful mermaid until Bai Lan aggressively jabbed him. Bai Lan yelled.

Lan Yang who was taken aback laughed and replied,

Bai Lan looked at him in disgust,

Lan Yang was amused on his reaction and decided to tease him more,

Bai Lan snapped, he was about to slice Lan Yang's throat when an alluring voice of a siren resonated around the place, her beautiful and soft voice singing.

Upon one winter's morning,

I carefully did stray,

Down by the water's splashing,

Where i met a sailor boy.

Chen Yi covered her ears and glanced at everyone,

Conversing with a young lass,

Who seemed to be in pain,

Soothing all his pain and embracing all his words.

A few moments, a large amount of large fish whose eyes where glowing in a teal color, their fangs were baring and drooling at the black and purple ship while looking at the people from above.

My heart is pierced by cupid.

I disdain all glittering pearls.

There is nothing can adore me,

But my jolly sailor boy.

After the dragon, now a mermaid?! Wait----mermaid..... Liu Xiao's eyes widened and immediately looked at everone who were alarmed on the big fishes on the water.

Liu Xiao:

While Dao Ling is the cannon fodder of the war, The puppet woman is but a commoner moral and The demon incubus who i a nine tailed fox is weakest but manipulative type of demon cult leader, The Demon Mermaid; The Serpent Of The Sea was the strongest of them all.

The mermaid was originally a high tier mystical being, The Serpent Of The Vast Ocean and The Guardian Of The Sea. They say that mermaids are creatures who seek for love which is half true and half false.

The mermaid once met a fishermen in te middle of the ocean who was trying to suicide by drowning himself. The mermid who was incharge of the Sea and the creatures around it saw the man's life core was slowly fading as he go deep down in the ocean and went to save him with a kiss that would give you an air underwater.

The unconcious man awaken from the kiss and saw a beautiful mermaid who had a raven black hair, pale skin and a teal clothing and fish tail kissing him underwater.

Because of such a sight to see, the fisherman thought he was dreaming or he was in the afterlife and the woman infront of her is the goddess that will send him somewhere but the mermaid sent him up the water back to his wooden boat.

The fisherman was angry at the mermaid for trying to interrupt his suicide but such a beautiful song of the mermaid calmed his mind and erased all of his negative thoughts in a flash, saving him from killing himself in the middle of the ocean.

Every creature is worth living. Be it plants, humans, animals or otherworldly creatures, the very life that was inside you is the gift that buddha gave, a chance to let you see the beauty of this world. Don't ever waste it again because such a gift can never be attained by most people.

By just those comforting words that came from the beautiful mermaid, the fisherman can't help falling inlove with her. The mermaid knew the fisherman likes her because time to time, it would always sail in the same place jst to meet her but for some reason, the unbothered stone heart of the mermaid melted by the fisherman's simple intentions.

In such a very long time, as a guardian of the ocean, the mermaid wasn't allowed to feel emotions and just focused on protecting the ocean from water demons and prevent it from attacking mortals from the sea shore. No one had ever done such a thingfor her because humans are usually greedy and cruel creatures that the mermaid wants to avoid.

But for some reason, she was always expecting the fisherman to sail ashore just to see her, and the both of them will talk about worlds, fishes and plants all day and night.

The mermaid also fell inlove with the fisherman but she feared that the fisherman will eventually die because of his mortal body, so she decided to give him the pearl of life, a rare kind of pearl that will give you immortality and endless youth.

The fisherman was deeply moved and accepted it and decided to bid farewell to his town to elope with her.

But such a love, was also followed by a deep sorrow.

The fisherman didn't obtain his immortality and because of his greediness, he split the large pearl of life into pieces and decided to sell it in some renowned nobls so that he would gain fame and luxury al over his life, he had always dreamt to stand at the highest place while looking down below with a proud face. He never liked to be isolated just like the mermaid had wanted.

The pearl of life that was split ito pieces, gradually glowed dimmer and dimmer until it died like how a flower die after it was plucked. The fisherman was furious and thought that the mermaid made a fool of him so he exposed the mermaids identity to everyone and decided to kill her.

The memaid was devastated at the broken promise of the fisherman. He said that he will come back to elope with her but he came back with a lot of townspeople who were holding weapons to kill her.

With her heart broken into pieces, she wished that she would have avoided the fisheman in the first place and just focused on protecting the ocean with her usual self. But it was too late now to reret things, and she could only bear the consequences.

With her sorrow and loathe mixed together, the beautiful mermaid transformed into a Sea Serpent and devoured them whole. A mystical being must never harm any living things and maintain balace to the world because such a power bear much more responsibilities.

Because the mermaid broke the one ang only rule, her pure spiritual energy was sealed and she was not able to maintain balance in the ocean anymore. The sealed water demons were released and killed the mortals from ashore. Either way, the mermaid didn't dared to care about them anymore and let the water demons kill the mercilessly.

After hundreds of years, the people feared the ocean, and much the beautiful mermaid residing in it. No one knows why the Sea Serpent devoured the towns people in one night not did they dared to think about it. People who live near the shore moved out of the highlands or in an Empire just to avoid the water demons that was coming from the ocean.

After another century, the Sea Serpent that was originally the guardian of the sea gained the title The Demon Mermaid; The Serpent Of The Sea. Mostly commoners use her figure as an ugly mermaid or a gigantic serpent that was mercilessly swallowing the fishermen in the vast ocean, she was considered a villain for the mortals but she herself was actually the victim.

Because the mortals believe her as a despicable villain, those beliefs made herself a villain as they wished. A mystical creature that was bestowed by a poition as the guardian of their own domain relies on the belief of people. If the people worship them and gave them offerings, those positive energies will be absorbed by them and it will make them stronger day by day.

But for the people to give her negative energy in return, it made her sorrow an grief increased even more. Those negative energies that she recieved from the mortals tortued her every single day until the mermaid became used to it, and the pain itself became her best friend.

In such a cruel world, no one dared to understand her sufferings.
