Chapter 39 : The Poisonous Butterfly Part 4

Bai Lan frowned at Liu Xiao and lowered his sword, the pupper woman backed away once more and tried to stand with her two wooden legs destroyed.

Liu Xiao approached the puppet woman until they are one meter away to each other, the puppet woman let out a loud wailing cry and raised her pale wooden hands to let out another surging waves of poisonous butterfly but Liu Xiao grabbed her wrist tightly, his words made the pupper woman stunned.

The puppet woman started sobbing but there was no tears coming out from her glowing eyes, like a lifeless wooden marionette that was living as a decoration to the world. She opened her tinted lips to speak,

Liu Xiao frowned in confusion at the way she spoke, he lightly grabbed her chin and opened her mouth to see that she had no tongue, as if someone purposely didn't make her one or someone cut it out a long time ago. Liu Xiao sighed and asked a question again,

The sobbing puppet woman stopped for a bit before slowly nodding. Liu Xiao loosened his grip on her wrist and removed his other hand on her chin but still maintainijg their distance to each other. the puppet woman nodded again.

What the fuck, what is happening?! Why are they putting mortals to fill in the demon cult leader position?! This woman isn't strong at all and from the beginning, i never felt a large amount of killing intent to her, as if someone was putting strings all over her body to control her... Someone was controlling her!

Liu Xiao immediately stood up and entered the plain bright red curtains. There, he saw a blood red strings that was attached to the puppet woman's body but once she stepped out the red curtains, the blood red strings will be transparent. That's why he didn't noticed it sooner.

The puppet woman was making a wailing cry since earlier, she had no tongue to speak so she gave us a sign by crying. I thought she was angry on us who trespassed her domain but she was actually telling us to stop! These red strings were controlling her and she was trying to fight back to break free!

I'm starting to doubt who's the real evil here. Liu Xiao massaged his temples before unsheathing his sword to cut the blood red strings. A wooden material made a loud thud outside the red curtains, Liu Xiao shoved the curtains and saw that the puppet woman was lying on the ground and twitching like a dysfunctioned wooden marionette.

Liu Xiao took a few steps to approach her seeing that the puppet woman was still alive but was still in a daze, her glowing golden eyes was twinkling and her body was still twitching. Liu Xiao felt like a bad guy and sighed once again, he charged spiritual qi in the dimension ring on his middle finger and sucked the puppet woman's body inside.

Liu Xiao turned his head on the five people behind him, his gaze landed first on Wu Qingge who was standing at the corner with his arms crossed and also staring at him. He gestured him to go out for the time being and Wu Qingge nodded back, a black purple fog covered him and suddenly disappeared on their sight.

Liu Xiao then shifted his gaze on the four people who looked clueless and bewildered, he cleared his thriat before talking, the four infront of him was waiting for him to continue his words so Liu Xiao let out a loud and heavy sigh first before continuing.

Chen Yi frowned at him, still looking puzzled.

Liu Xiao continued, the four frowned even more.

Liu Xiao sighed looking that they're so confused, he continued again,

Bai Lan answered with confusion,

Liu Xiao nodded,

The four was stunned, looking like they understand something. Bai Lan asked.

Liu Xiao:

Chen Yi raised her eyes.

Liu Xiao clapped happily. the four nodded. Liu Xiao asked.

The four didn't answered and Liu Xiao continued to explain,

The four were left speechless. They didn't answered but they understood Liu Xiao's explanation, their expressions were full of confusion and disbelief. After a long moment, it was Shan Ling who spoke,

Liu Xiao shrugged.

Seeing that the four were listening earnestly, Liu Xiao felt that he was a teacher who was teaching four little children. He shook his head immediately to remove the thoughts and continued,

Bai Lan arched his brows,

Liu Xiao laughed. Bai Lan understood him, Liu Xiao had countless treasures inside his dimension ring that his master gifted him all the time and he always let them rot inside. It's understandable that he was abke to bribe Wen Yong by those things. Every living things in this world is greedy.

Liu Xiao then continued, Liu Xiao breathed before continuing.

The four was speechless again. Liu Xiao realized that he was holding on to his unsheathed sword so he put it back to it's scabbard before speaking,

The four understood what he said but all his explanation was still loading in their head and they're trying to operate it clearly. Liu Xiao then gestured them to go downstairs to exit the brothel so the four followed him from behind.

While they were stepping down the stairs, Lan Yang who was all quiet earlier asked him.

Come to think of it. Liu Xiao asked.

Lan Yang arched his brows then answered,

Liu Xiao's eyes widened. they all spread out and instead of stepping down the stairs, they jumped down the window and quickly blended in the crowd.

Liu Xiao stood in the middle and closed his eyes to feel a faint of demonic qi in the air but he found nothing. When he was about to take another step, a warm hand grabbed his wrist and Liu Xiao immediately turned to the person, looking alarmed.

Liu Xiao greeted. His hand on the grip of his sword that was about to pull it out of it's scabbard loosened.

Wu Qingge greeted back.

Liu Xiao nearly jumped out of Wu Qingge when his both hands wrap around his waist. Liu Xiao pushed his chest hard but realizijg that Wu Qingge is more masculine and stronger than his looking malnourished body, he decided to give up.

Wu Qingge said, his head snuggled on Liu Xiao's neck, hugging him tightly.

Liu Xiao's faced flushed so much to the point that he looked like some swollen tomato, the crowd was looking at them who were hugging each other in the middle of the road. Liu Xiao pushed Wu Qingge's chest again but it had no effect, Wu Qingge didn't even budged.

Liu Xiao threatened, still pushing him away even if it's no good. Wu Qingge loosened his arms around him then eventually let go, looking dejected.

Liu Xiao asked, fixing the crumpled fabrics on his robe.

Wu Qingge clicked his tongue and replied, Wow, as expected of the protagonist. Everyone is but a mere ant. ┐(´д｀)┌

Seeing that Liu Xiao had no intention to reply, Wu Qingge gently grabbed his hand and dragged him away somewhere. Liu Xiao frowned but still let his bodg dragged away by him and asked,

Wu Qingge smiled and answered, Ohhh... I nearly forgot about it.

Liu Xiao was astonished then later on, his lips curved into a bright smile.

Wu Qingge chuckled and replied, Liu Xiao's other hand unconsciously went to scratch his cheeks and awkwardly laughed.

Liu Xiao then pulled out four paper and charged spiritual qi in it then spoke,

a female subordinate wearing a black robe with a golden stamp on her collar and a black veil spoke.

The chamber was so dim, foggy and full of red lanters all over. A man was lying in the large black bed full of beautiful men and women around him, holding a smoking pipe on his other hand. The man inhaled it's stem and exhaled with a lot of smoke coming out of his mouth. He glanced at the large window in the side and opened his mouth to speak.
