《The Pharaoh's Dancer》A Ship at Sea

Amunet must have passed out on the journey because when she woke she was no longer on a horse but rather a swinging hamic surrounded by thick dark wood. The space had an eerie echo that reverberated throughout the small cabin she was in. Amunet shifted herself and gracefully swung herself out of the hammock, her feet touching cold wood. From the swaying of the ground, Amunet pieced together that she was on a ship. Thudding feet could be heard from above along with another set trudging around just outside the door in front of her. As if sensing she was awake, Runihura swung open the door and swiftly slammed it shut behind him.
"Glad to see you're awake," he smiled stretching the scars on his neck and face. Amunet grimaced at the sight and couldn't help but picture a demon with the way the shadows hid parts of his face. "Do you like it? My ship? It took many years to get it to this quality."
Amunet refused to say nothing as Runihura began talking about the types of wood the ship was crafted from and how many years it took to perfect every detail. Amunet watched him carefully making sure to stay on the opposite side of the room. Before long, the two were dancing in a circle, like a predator stalking its prey.
"it would be nice to know your name," Runihura asked breaking away from the subject of the ship they were on. Amunet refused to answer with a glare and clenched her fists at her side. Runihura frowned dismantling his features again and seemed to get a little red in the face. In a few steps, he lunged across the room slamming her up against the room. Amunet gasped at the impact and felt the wind leave her lungs and refuse to return. "It's not very polite to refuse to identify yourself. I've known enemies and men I've killed who've still told me their names when I've asked. Now tell me your name."

"No," Amunet shouted back swinging her knee up into Runihura's chest. This wasn't going to go the same way it did with the smuggler Lael. Amunet's skills weren't going to suddenly disappear again. After all, she trained for a year in self-defense and offense. Teremun had trained her to be his assassin. He would be disappointed to see her fail again.
Amunet managed to knock Runihura off balance and his grip loosened enough to allow Amunet the chance to intertwine their arms. Amunet propelled herself up off of Runihura's tight chest and then slammed herself down. Runihura's arm, still interlocked with Amunet's, made a painful splitting noise before dislocating from its socket. Runihura howled in agony and dropped to his knees cradling his arm.
Amunet took this chance to run but Runihura's reflexes were fast and his good arm snaked around her ankle causing her to drop to the ground with a loud thud. He pounced on her like a tiger on its kill, snarling and throwing his fist at every part of Amunet's skin it could come in contact with. Amunet shielded her face as the first blow struck and tried to remain as the fire of pain began springing throughout her body. Runihura drew his fist back for one last attack giving Amunet the chance to throw her head forward ramming into his nose and jaw. Runihura fell back blood dripping from his mouth.
Panting, Amunet crawled to her feet and ran for the door, taking it with both hands and throwing it open. The light outside temporarily blinded Amunet and she quickly shielded herself from the rays of light. Miles of sea water could be seen before her. Amunet's breathing became hasty as she searched for a row boat or some way to escape. She rummaged through everything but couldn't find a single thing. Through her rummaging, though, Amunet realized something.

Not a single other person was on the boat.
She hadn't seen anyone. Runihura and she weren't exactly being quiet during their fight and yet not a single crew member had come to check on the noise. Amunet dropped the yards of rope she'd been unintentionally holding and spun in a quick circle.
Completely alone.
Well, except for the bloody and scarred barbarian currently stalking towards her with murder in his eyes and a sword in his hand.

Blood Demon's Retirement
Civil War had raged on the Al-Shan Archipelago for the past four decades, only recently coming to an end with the enthronement of the new Emperor. This is not his story. The Blood Demon, renowned general of said civil war, was tired of all the fighting and politicking that had described the last four decades of her existence. All she really wanted to do now is to go out into the world and see the many lands from her father's stories. Thus she retired, and went and did exactly what she wanted. This is the story of what happens when you toss a (retired) war machine with somewhat lacking common sense into an unsuspecting world at peace. Chapters will range from 1-2.5k words, scheduled for release every day from Monday to Friday. First time posting a story on Royal Road here, hoping you folks will enjoy. Expect: -slow going slice of life with occassional faster paced action -world building -detailed anecdotes on the world, its races, the magic system, and whatnot every now and then Do not expect: -romance, other than maybe some passing mentions -politics, again, barring passing mentions Any comments, reviews, and criticism will be much appreciated. And thank you for reading. ---------------------------- Disclaimer: This story is my original work and only posted on the Royal Road and Scribblehub websites. The Last Journey
A slice of life litrpg story... or is it? It's burning slow, though. Moving on: War comes with a great cost. Lives and time wasted for most part. One could either be run with sword, be poisoned, be bowed, and sometimes meet their end with just a tiny speck of wood. With magic, it becomes even more colorful. From lightning, to worse poison, to hovering rocks, to weird bladed leaves, to whipping roots, and to a lot more odd things easily reasoned with magic. A wonderful creation. But once used to something more than wonder, more than tricks to gather laughs, it becomes worse. War becomes worse. For there is not only blood to be spilled. A particular town almost met the same end. Soldiers geared with swrords and bows came with mounts. Horses burning lush grasses as it cracked boulders and the soil alike with every step. The kind that only war ones could ever do. Even strange wheeled creations that oozed danger were towed, loaded with something meant to destroy. But not once had they acted upon what such devices should've done, nor what an an army is supposed to do. Siege never occurred, as much as a command to war. No. Magic existed so a simple little fire is all the worth the town has. No sword drawn, no arrows nocked, nothing. Just some mana spent and through the ash they march. That was how Nudius saw her end. It came not even as a surprise. She didn't have the moment to fully register what occurred before she found herself in an empty dark space. Life lost, time spent. All from a fire that had not even touched her. But she knew very well that it was magic. Something she wished to have and strived for to have. Yet it seemed that none of it would matter now. Nudius was well aware of what the color around meant, of the odd situation, of the unfeeling state of her being. It was death and that was it. She didn't have to worry or dream further. Although there wasn't what she truly wanted in what death to her is, but at least, Nudius was comforted to what she believed death is. Rest. But little did she know there's something more than that empty space. It wasn't only the promise of rest, but was also more than she could ever hope for. Another chance at life. Another chance to dream. ***Tags are there just in case. You never know! Umm... HI-MI-TSU. Story blurb+: This is slow burn, quite slice of life story about a girl learning magic. All the while as she fatten herself up. So yeah, progression fantasy. But there's Litrpg! Numbers! Magic! Spells! And of course! There's something more. But read on ahead, please. Oh yes. Plot! There is, too. Disclaimer: The cover isn't made by me. Just layered it with a text. I got it from a free website, if I correctly recall. I'll see to it. (Haven't worked on it.)

Harry Potter OneShots
This is the collection of all harry potter character's (except the marauders, who's book could be found on my profile) one-shots I've written over time ;)I know this used to be an exclusively the weasley twins one-shots book, but I didn't see the use in creating a separate book for other characters.
