《Marooned With You》Sun drying

none. Enjoy.
You're fed, you're rested and now you're brushing your teeth. You had nothing to do anyways.
You sat down on the patio, cross legged. Mayanka sat down in a similar fashion too.
He paid you no mind as he concentrated on weaving something with rattan fibers he found in his last forage.
Under, over, under, over... his fingers skillfully worked its way through the gaps, tugging and securing every weave. It's impressive to see his speed and efficiency, whatever it is he's making, it's almost halfway done and it's not even an hour past his starting point.
You stood up and set the Miswak down, attracting the attention of Mayanka.
"I'm uh, I'm just gonna go there..." you pointed at yourself, then at the shore.
Mayanka stood up as well, carrying his work in progress in an arm. He went inside and through the back door.
...Can you leave? Are you allowed to move from your spot?
You don't want to risk getting him upset, so you waited.
You furrowed your eyebrows in confusion when you heard branches snapping and the rustling of leaves.
He came back with a banana leaf, it's wide!
Mayanka moved towards your desired destination, you followed suit.
Once you're exposed to the blazing sun, he handed you the banana leaf.
"What's this for?" You asked, examining it in your hands.
Mayanka curled your fingers around the stalk and brought it over your head.
You stayed in that position as he made himself comfortable on the sand. Mayanka continued his weaving as if he's still under the shade.
"Why do I need this for?" You brought the leaf down to your side.
Mayanka whipped his head to you and shot a nasty glare.
"Okay! Okay! I'm sorry!" You immediately brought it back up over your head. His eyes lingered on your form, soon, it goes back to his handicraft.

Looks like he doesn't want you to have a heatstroke again. So he's making you carry some sort of umbrella.
You took your shoes off and let your feet rest on the warm sand.
"OW!" You yelped. Correction, BURNING HOT sand. Mayanka must have a really thick sole to withstand this temperature.
"Ow shit! Ow, ow, ow!" You scrambled to put your shoes back on. You tripped in the process, coating your arms with sand.
Once you slipped both feet into your shoes, snickering reached your ears.
You twisted your head to see Mayanka stifling his laughter with an arm. He's pretending that he didn't see what just happened.
Blood rushed to your cheeks in embarrassment, you turned your back against him and walked to the ebbing tides. Letting the water splash against your legs and jeans.
It's warm.
You squat down and ran your fingers through the wet sand.
It gathered quite a few tiny seashells.
You stood back up and flicked your hand. You wanted to explore the jungle behind his home, but you're too afraid to do so. Would he even allow you to step foot in there? Will there be leeches?
"What the... eww..." you grimaced when you see a mass of wet, green slop gather around your legs.
You waddled back to Mayanka who is busy on weaving a rattan hat.
"Uhh, Mayanka?" You called, he looked up from his project. His yellow eyes widened as soon as it landed on the thing around your legs.
A wide grin flashed on his handsome face before going back to a neutral frown. He set the unfinished hat aside once more and gathered all the green around your legs.
You raised an eyebrow when he went on to wash it in the clear saltwater.

Is that seaweed? You believe that he liked eating it because as soon as he deem it to be clean, he immediately popped a strand into his mouth.
Mayanka came back with a pile of clean, edible seaweed in his hand. He separated a portion out and presented it to you.
You gulped, not really comfortable with eating it. But you do it anyways.
With great hesitation, you put one into your mouth and began chewing.
Surprisingly crunchy and unsurprisingly salty. You wouldn't say that it taste bad, but you prefer eating store bought roasted seaweed.
"Limu." He gestured towards the seaweed.
"Limu?" You echoed and he nodded.
Mayanka 'happily' ate his own pile of Limu algae as he sat back down.
It's not... very appetizing to you anymore. Maybe you could save it for later? Or maybe you could sun-dry it.
"I'm gonna sun dry it. Sun, dry, Limu." You pointed above you, then the Limu. It took Mayanka a while to understand what you're trying to do.
"Sun... dry." He repeated, pointing the sun and then the algae.
"Yes, sun dry. Like... how am I gonna explain this..." you scratched the back of your head.
Then you spotted the tray of saltwater he left for it to evaporate and obtain the salt.
"Like that! Sun-dry the Limu." You pointed the sun, the Limu and the tray.
Now that Mayanka completely understood what you're saying, he shoved his remaining algae into your hands.
"Sun-dry, Limu." He 'instructed'.
"You want me to sun-dry this?" You asked slowly, all the while gesturing at the seaweed.
He nodded, a hint of irritation began to form on his face.
"Okay." You walked off with your banana leaf umbrella.
You grabbed another piece and munch on it as you pace around to find a suitable spot for sun-drying the seaweed.
