《Mianite: Unitended》Unalive

Jordan's sheets were in a jumbled mess. He hadn't woken up all night.

I hadn't cried so hard for so long. I hated to cry. It made me feel weak or stupid, but I'm glad I stuck it in until Furia left.

Tucker could have killed him, but I guess Tucker didn't want more death.

I didn't like Capsize to much. Jordan was right about that, but there's so few people in Mianite that it was nice for him to have someone.

I looked at all of the chalked down equations at the floor. I had nothing else better to do.

Capsize was sorta a know it all, I thought pacing in the room looking at. I guess she would have gotten killed sooner or later. As morbid as it is to think of.

Scarlett mewed out in my room, finally up from one of her 'naps' that seemed to be more like hibernation.

I walked into my room and sat on the bed with my cat. Sonja always called her small and ragged. I always thought she was a pretty cat. Of course I had never seen another cat, but she was perfect for me. We were both odd.

"Hope", I heard a mumble from the lab.

I ran out, but Jordan was already standing up.

He picked up his glasses from the table. "What is going on?"

I shuffled my steps. "Nothing new really".

I think he finally remembered as he slouched into the desk chair. "Right"

"I'm sorry".

"It's not your fault. It's just-", he sighed, "It happened. I guess it was going to happen sooner or later".

"What?"

"Just death. With what we do-" he paused again.

Oh god don't cry please.

"We should have to be saving Ianite. Mianite shouldn't have to be a place. I-", he leaned up. "Why am I here? Why are you here?"

"I think a better question is why any of this is a thing?", I answered.

I think I made him smile, "yeah". He rubbed his eyes, "How is everyone else?"

I shrugged, "I don't know they still don't tell me anything".

"That's one I can't figure out kid", said Jordan, "Sorry"

There was a long silence.

"Why don't you treat me like they treat me?", I asked breaking the silence.

Jordan gave me a strange look, like he didn't really know how to answer himself. "What do you mean?"

"Like, well I don't know. How you tell me things and don't treat me like a toddler"

His face straightened. "Hope, you go through something that no adult could shield you from. You go through something that nobody except yourself can protect you from. So you have to teach yourself and I guess the earlier you learn how to fight your demons the better".

"Your my best friend Hope", he smiled, didn't say it with the small hint of competition we have. "I care about you".

Of course the mood was getting to sweet for me. I smiled mischievously. "We're best friends".

"I was trying to be cu-"

I want over and hugged him. "OH YAY YOU CAN SHOW EMOTION"

"Oh yep", I could now see that I had successfully made him feel like his old awkward self, "Yay feelings", he let out weakly.

"I wish I would have been there to help".

Tucker looked up at me. Wagglington's conversation about the trip, he was talking about as he was healing my leg, went mute.

"You can't go blaming yourself", Tucker said going back to the map. "We have enough people doing that".

"No I am not", I stated. "Making myself feel guilty won't help anything. The whole thing was a big accident, but-"

"Sonja!"

I rolled my eyes. "Tucker enough I get it. Just would have made me feel better. Am I being selfish?"

"Sonja", Wagglington started to speak with an angry look on his face,"Your the last person anyone could call selfish, and", he spoke with a little more of a bitter tone, "If you want your leg healed for tomorrow I would give me some piece and quite".

Everything went silent. Wagglington had his magic book open to certain page. There was odd writing on it, nothing they ever worked with was English. The magic wasn't visible, I just felt a strange aura around me.

Tucker looked a little skeptical.

I closed my eyes as I felt my bone fall back into the joint. It didn't hurt, just felt like a pressure.

"There", Wagglington stood up. "Done. Don't say I never did anything for you mortals".

"Thanks Wagglington", Tucker said, "You always were a person that proved me wrong".

"Everyone can be helpful even if they have different opinions", Wagglington said, "and you Mianites understand that"

"What's Red up to", I leaned up on the couch. "Are they planning a funeral or-"

"He did something small for her", Tucker shrugged. "They couldn't wait any longer for Sparkles to wake up. Tom went for his sake".

"Oh", I sighed, "Poor Sparkles. I almost forgot".

"Now we have to get that heart for him. We don't just have Dianite to fight we also have Furia".

"What is Red doing about the whole-"

There was a knock on the door.

Tucker peaked out of the window. "Speak of the actual devil. Toms knocking so loud he's going to brake our door down", Tucker mumbled as he walked to our door.

Tom kept on knocking louder and louder.

Tucker opened the door and Tom fell in straight forward.

"What!?" Tucker yelled not caring that Tom was laying on out welcome mat.

"The wizards and Red beard", he coughed out leaning up. "There in a fight".

"Wag", Tom said staring at him, "Red won't listen to anyone. You need to get the Wizards to listen to you".

"What?", Wagglinton seemed more annoyed then nervous. "What are they fighting for?"

"Red Beard wants a", Tom held his head. "Ugh what's it called? An airship for something".

"Well if it's for the heart they have to do it", Tucker said.

"That's the thing", he answered, "Red won't tell them what it's for. Can we just go now?"

"Sorry", Wagglington said smirking. He got a page out of his book and read through it. "Meet you guys there I am not walking".

And with a sweep of smoke he had disappeared.

Tucker smile seeming more impressed than mad.

Tom grabbed his hand dragging him through the door and motioning me to hurry my butt up. "Let's go now. I appreciate a fight as much as the next person, but one between a bull headed pirate and the Wizard will leave a mess".

"I want my bloody airshlup nowww and I ain't not paying fors it".

"Good god man are you drunk", IFires hissed.

"Don't question me and my godamn drinking habits. Yous have no right!", Red slurred.

"Arr. He's be needing some better drinking habits", Hope whispered to me mocking reds voice.

I covered her mouth, understanding that we don't need another fight. I'm glad reds ravings were covering up my laughing.

"Give me some money and then we will help you if we can", Brute said trying to calm everyone down, "I understand lose we all do, but-"

"You don't know nothing", and of course as I suspected everything went to far. Red beard got out a knife pinning, IFires to the wall, holding the knife to his throat.

"Oh well you should do something about this", Hope said to me as the chaos continued.

"Why I'll teach you a bloody lesson".

I ran over grabbing the knife from reds grasp that was a drunken one and wasn't very strong. I pinned his right hand on the exact same wall that he had the wizard trapped to. His left wearily went down to his side.

"Can we end that argument by saying that the ship is most likely for the heart", I gasped. "And not get anymore people killed".

Redford slid down the stone castle wall to broken up for anybody to try to fix right now.

"That got the proper ending that it needed! ", Wagglington shouted from up the alters stairs with Sonja, Tucker, and Tom.

"Uh Hope can you", I glanced to Redford.

She nodded her head yes, knowing exactly what I was saying.

I headed up the stairs where Wagglington was talking to Tom and the Wizard Tom.

"What a great idea. Letting the drunken, grieving man be our captain".

"It's the only thing that will work Tom", Wagglington explained to his Wizard counter part. "We need Ianite saved".

"Well", Wizard Tom sighed. "Thats one thing I'll agree with you more then IFires. This world is up for slaughter without her and Mianite working together".

"So you'll get the, whatever it is, done" our Tom asked.

"Yes you must be going to a place called Athoria, seeing that you need air ship", said Wagglington.

"Dianite is definitely hiding the heart there, it's the only other place to look", Tucker added in. "Whatever that place is".

Wagglington got out his wonderful book again and showed Tom a map. "Look, this is it".

Tom scrunched up his face, "It looks like fall on crack".

"Well that 'fall on crack' is our ticket to finding the heart", Tucker said taking the book for a look himself. "And the sooner this adventure is over the better".

The wizard Tom smiled. I had a feeling that just finding the heart wasn't the end of our adventure.

I looked back at Hope. Her and Red were talking quietly. It seemed like she had calmed him down.

"So Red is the only one who can sail us", I asked.

"Yes", said the other Tom, who didn't seem to happy about his airship being sailed by him. "So unless you want to be stuck in an infinite void for the rest of your life I would get him back together", the Wizard glared at Wagglington.

"Yes, yes I understand", Wagglington waved the other wizard away, "You don't want your artwork going to waste".

"And", The wizard added on, "I would hate to see such great human life wasted", he smirked at Sonja who was quietly sitting back watching us argue.

The wizard strolled off now, Tucker now wanting his head on a stick, quiet pleased with himself.

"I'm not sure if he did that purposely or not", I said more to myself than Tom.

"Probably the second one. The Wizards like to see people get pissed off"

"Are you sure you aren't a wizard Tom"

"I checked before outside with a tree branch", Tom sighed. The sarcasm wafting off of him. "I was not able to make a unicorn".

"Not even when you squint your eyes and think really hard about it".

Tom nodded his head no. "Stop hanging out with Hope. We don't need two of her".

"I HEAR MY NAME AND I ANSWER", Hope screamed. She almost pushed both of us over as she stampeded by.

I looked back at Red who was quietly talking to the Wizards.

"He's apologizing", Hope explained.

"What did you tell him", I asked.

She shrugged. "I just asked him what's wrong and he said". She looked up at me. "Think about if you don't have the time to mourn your sisters death"

"So what's our plan", Sonja asked.

We all started walking to the exit of the Wizards castle.

"The Wizards will have the airship done by tomorrow, and then I guess it's up to us to help Red open a portal", Tom said.

Everyone stared at him curiously as Tucker opened the gate to the outside of the castle.

"A portal. He just has a portal", I asked. "I know I'm new and all, but that seems like a difficult thing to get".

"It is. We don't know where it came from", Tom answered seeming as scared as my question.

"You know the saying 'forgotten things can come back to haunt you'", Hope said, having a drastic look on her face.

I looked up seeing that there was nothing drastic to be having on your face.

"We should have taken that more seriously", she finished.

And as I glanced up from her out at the world of Mianite I realized how many things we had swept away. Blamed on chaos or shadows or magic. Just how many things really didn't have an answer.

And I was more sure than ever they would come back to bite us in the ass.
