Claire POV-

The next day, Jordan and Tucker decided to meet for a run to cool off their frustrations.

Jordan didn't feel incredibly mad as Tucker did, but her worries were so off the charts she decided to take up his offer and take a run in the cool misty morning.

Once she arrived to their meeting spot by the Scales of Justice, she noticed that her friend seemed rather jumpy.

Though that could be described as Tucker's natural state, he usually replaced his worry with a mask of calm demeanor. This time though, he didn't bother hiding it.

"You're three minutes late Jordan! I though the pirates took you hostage or something" he said

Jordan let out a large sigh and patted him on the back.

"Not today" she replied softly

"Im serious! These guys are out there and we cant find or catch them" tucker said as he combed a hand through his hair, eyes dark with seriousness she rarely acknowledged

"Something tells me we will, for now we need to not come on as hostile. That means following normal routines and responsibilities, once they see we aren't interested in playing the cat and mouse chase game then they may chose to talk" Jordan said, not believing a single word that came out of her mouth.

Truth was, she was begining to thing that perhaps the streams were different than what was bound to happen. Clearly the pirates didn't want to talk, maybe they would return home.

Her and Tucker stretched for a few minutes, both surveying their surroundings like hawks before starting off into a calm jog.

It was odd that she sometimes failed to see the beauty of the world. Of course, most of the time she spent running was to save her life during the purges, but it wasnt until that moment that she really took in its beauty...and guilt filled her heart.

She missed her world, though she rarely thought back on it. It wasnt for lack of love and longing but it hurt too much.

She had found herself shedding a few tears while laying in bed sometimes not knowing why they were there until she looked deep within that hole in her heart that let her know it was the need to see her family.

Though she had a family in Mianite, her earth family was her world. She didnt even get to say goodbye to them.

A part of her wished to have someone to talk to about the ache in her chest but her friends might take it the wrong way and Diante...he wasnt an option at the moment.

His words rang in her head often, the choice he wanted her to make. The disgust in his eyes when she talked about her god. Mostly though, it was the anger in his heart that made her heart pause for a few heartbeats.

Was her hope to help him that futile?

Was he still that mad at her he wouldn't go visit her?

That ache in her chest grew at the thought, making her unconsciously slow down her running speed.

'Jordan? Tired already?' Tucker teased, slowing to a stop next to her.

Jordan rested her arms on her knees as she collected herself and her thoughts. When she looked up past Tucker's face and into the sea beyond, her breath caught again and she pointed a shaking finger in that direction.

"The...ship" Jordan barely managed to say

The pirate ship lay mostly underwater, split in two right in the middle with flames rising on the wood above the water.

The ship was still sinking, almost submerged fully by the time she let go of her shock and ran as fast as she could, not even bothering to see if Tucker followed.

The flames. There was only one person who would burn that boat...

'Damn you Diante' was all she could think as she ran.
