《The Spark of Balance: The Realm of Mianite (Book 1)》Ch 91- Champwan's disbelief

Champwan POV
There are lots of mysteries and dangers in the world, most he learned how to deal with as a child.
He had destroyed countless monsters, dealt with the gods of the world, and seen magic and spells that were practically impossible.
Still, nothing compared to the greatest mystery of all.
His best friend, the kindest most loving girl, in the arms of the most bitter and cruel being in the world.
He tried to run away as soon as Jordan said she was dating him. He ran as fast as, with the intent to never look back. Of course Dianite teleported inferno of him and took him back to his horrible training facility.
The remainders of burned bodies were scattered around his gentle friend, she didn't even seem to notice them. Odd.
"My lady is speaking to you, you'd do well to listen closely" Dianite said in a less than friendly voice Champwan was used to by then
"Your lady?" he heard himself say in shock
"Im so sorry you had to find out this way...and Dia stop threatening him!"
"I don't understand...I was on my way here when I saw Tom being dragged out by seven guards, he was resisting, fighting to break free. I feared you had banished him as well but now it all makes sense I guess. He must hate you for taking her away from him... how could you tell him!? I assume you knew how much she meant to him, and you Jordan, why aren't you going after Tom to calm him down. Don't you think you owe him that much after choosing his god and not him?" he said, more driven by anger rather than anything else
Sure, Tom could be a pain, but no one deserved to feel the sting of unrequited love. Champwan knew the feeling all too well...
"How dare you!" Dianite began to scream before Jordan put a hand in his arm, pulling him behind her

"First of all, who on earth was banished?"Jordan said with her gentle voice that made her sound like his mother, angelic and sweet as sugar.
"You haven't heard? Dianite banished the Modesteps and Nade."
Jordan turned around, staring at Dianite, puzzled beyond recognition.
"You did what? why?" she asked
"They stepped out of line. they had intended on creating a very potent potion that could have destroyed the whole island, with everyone in it. As much as I would have loved to see that, I couldn't let my champion or my lady die of course, so I turned down their request. they tried to do it behind my back so I banished them, if anyone is to cause mayhem and destruction it would be me" the god said proudly, but one look in Jordan's angry eyes made him soften
"Of course, I would never let you come to any harm. thats why I banished them, they had this hunger in their eyes, a thirst for revenge on you. The purges weren't enough for them. Besides, I don't need pawns I can't control, dogs without leashes can cause more trouble than they are worth"
"Fine, but we will discuss that later. Champwan, what did you mean about Tom? Don't tell me you think he has a crush on me as well"
Was she serious? How could she not know?
"Tom loves you, everybody knows that" he replied
Dianite shot him a deadly look, with that he knew to keep details out and just keep his mouth shut. Clearly, she had no idea and Dianite didnt want her to for some reason
"Thats absurd. He's my best friend" she said in a whisper
"Couldn't you tell, by the way he must have reacted towards you two I assume it would have been obvious"
"He...he doesn't know. He though I was in danger being alone with Dia"
"Are you?" Champwan asked, still not believing his eyes

The scenario seemed like a joke, pranks were common in their world, perhaps thats all it was. A really crude joke, but Dianite wouldn't play a part in it. Kissing a mortal doesn't seem like something he would do, much less date one.
"Why didn't he tell me? Wait...Dia, you knew? I though you were just being unreasonably jealous"
The lord of the nether grabbed on to her arms, not even acknowledging his presence in the room anymore. He looked angry and saddened at the same time, a dangerous combination when it came to Dianite.
"You said you cared about me, why does it matter how Thomas feels? You chose me, not him. Besides if he loves you so much why hasn't he done anything to pursue you? He doesn't care about you as much as I do"
"This is gonna kill him...when he finds out about us...what have I done?" she whispered, just loud enough for him to hear
"Leave him, who cares how he feels when we have each other right?"
"He's my best friend Dianite! All this time I've been friendly to him but he must mistake it as affection, its like I've been leading him on all this time just so that he finds out I'm dating his god" she said "Champwan, you can't tell him!"
Now it all made sense, this was a secret relationship, he was probably the only one to find out and it had been by chance, more like horrible luck.
How they had fallen for each other he couldn't piece together, but she had put her god aside and chose to date the man holding him hostage.
"I won't say a word as long as you explain everything"he answered
"Fine. Dia, tell him everything while I'm gone" Jordan said
"Gone?"
"Im going after Tom, I have to talk to him"
"No. I won't let you! Why do you even want to?"
"I have to explain myself and find out if what all of you say is true"
"Stay. I have sent him away to the sand village outside the barrier, he is too far for you to go to now"
Jordan went over to hug Champwan, an embrace he now took lightly and quickly, not wanting Dianite to get the wrong idea.
"If you come after me, I will never forgive you. This is something I have to do, teleporting him away won't change that" she said to Dianite in a strong tone, much like the one she used in the heat of battle in the purges
That stunned them both, he and the lord of the nether didn't move.
"Just go home for how, take a breath and think of what you're about to do. I'll bring him back tomorrow nigh when you are being more reasonable" the god said
She looked at the floor in defeat, then at him, as if she knew what the outcomes of all the plan would cause. Her mind was probably spinning with decisions on what she could do, finally she settled on making her way to her...well...boyfriend, and kissed him.
Champwan turned away in embarrassment.
"Ok, you're right. I'm not really thinking straight, just fill in Champwan while I go sleep for a bit. I guess mining all day has made me lose my head already" Jordan half-joked, he could tell she was worried
"As you wish my love, sleep well" Dianite said, sending Champwan to a realm of confusion
My love?
"Champwan" Jordan called out "Im sorry for not telling you, hopefully you understand why this had to be a discrete matter and can learn to forgive me because of it"
"Next time just give me a heads up when you're about to make such a...big decision"
"Noted" Jordan joked and headed out the door he had come through
"So we need to talk then" Dianite said coldly
"As we always do" he joked "Let the second coupling session of the day begin"

The Storytellers
Myra Kahani lives in a world of gods and prayers. People around her constantly reach out to the gods for advice and suggestions at critical times in their life. But Myra has a problem. No matter what she does, she can't talk to the gods. When Myra meets Roam, an old, enigmatic Storyteller, she finally gets some answers. She learns of the origins of the Universe, the divide between mankind and their deities, and the important role that Storytellers play in her world. But the truth for Myra is just the beginning of her story. The Storytellers is a story that I began to develop from a series of shorter stories that I wrote for a mythology and folklore class. As such, they have a strong basis in the myths and folklore of various cultures and religions. Join me as I try my best to integrate these stories into my own and develop the world of the Storytellers and Myra herself. This is my first attempt at any sort of longer-form fiction so helpful advice is greatly appreciated!
