《The Spark of Balance: The Realm of Mianite (Book 1)》Ch 87- Breakfast concerns

Sonja POV-

"Is she mad or something?" She asked Tucker

"Wouldn't know, she seemed fine yesterday" he said with a grin

"Then why is she ignoring everyone today?"

"Maybe she's mining too deep down to be able to hear us, or maybe she fell asleep and stated talking to her god again. Jordan said she would just be very busy today, that doesn't mean she's mad" her boyfriend replied slowly, careful not to make her upset

He always did that, thought of her feelings and the repercussions of saying things a certain way. Tucker had said once that he didn't need to protect her physically because she already could, what he would fight to protect was her heart.

Sure they had fights every now and then, but a fight usually never lasted very long. It seemed silly to both of them fighting over little things when their life had so many huge responsibilities.

That and they truly did love each other, not just because they were the only survivors of their town, but because they were best friends way before that.

When it came down to it, Sonja knew that Tucker would always have her back and could calm any worry she had with just a few simple words and a smile, just as he had done just now.

"Fine, but if we don't hear from her, I'm going out to look for her. Last time I didn't hear from her in a day she was killed by Dianite. Jordan sure has a tendency to get herself into trouble sometimes" she said, finishing up sharpening her last sword

Tucker smiled and placed a kiss on her nose, but she could see the worry in his eyes as he probably remembered that day they almost lost a friend.

"Well you're not wrong there, she's a stubborn one, maybe thats an attribute from her world" Tucker joked and he took out the freshly baked bread from the oven, filling the room with its sweet scent.

"Now that I think about it, she doesn't talk much about her home"

"It must be painful to since she cant go back, thats why I haven't pressed the matter"he said

"She did tell me a few things, her mother was a baker an her father someone who designed homes and buildings. They made really good money, so much that Jordan and her sister never suffered a day in their lives" Sonja recalled from a previous conversation months ago

At the time Jordan still seemed to have a spark of hope of returning, she talked about her home for a bit before sadness kicked in and they dismissed the topic.

Sonja wanted to know more, but it wasn't worth hurting her best friend over it, so she never asked again.

"Really? She told me that the place she was from had all kind of weather, really cold, extremely hot, and frozen water would fall out of the sky for a while. They had rain with natural thunder, and when the weather changed, leaves changed from green to reds and browns. Crazy huh?" Tucker said

"Must have been beautiful...I...I worry about her sometimes. There is one other thing she mentioned that has made me worry more than I should. In her world, people don't kill everyday, they don't have mobs, and they don't have world communicators or magic, once your get hurt or die there is no fixing it. Killing is also considered a malice in her world, so much that I see her battle with herself" Sonja confessed

"Battle with herself? Sonj, that doesn't even make sense"

"I mean like, she sees herself as some kind of monster or something. During the purges I see her taken back when she kills, it doesn't happen much now of course"

"I never noticed that, in that case we must seem like monsters to her, killing left and right with no opposition. Too bad she didn't grow up here with us, she is already starting to become stronger than us, imagine what a decade more could have made her into"he said

"Even Dianite wants her on his team"

"True that, but she should stay away from him, he already killed and kissed her, I cant pin what kind of ploy he was trying to play. At least he has kept his distance, maybe Mianite threatened him" he said, pretending to throw lighting

They laughed at the thought.

"Guys!!!! Who took my horse!! Give it back, I need to go kidnap...i mean...borrow some villagers and I need the fastest horse to get there!" Tom said, not even bothering to knock, storming in like he owned the place

"Good morning to you too" Sonja responded sarcastically

"We don't have your horse, as you can see, we are barely having breakfast. Haven't even gone out yet" Tucker replied

Tom assessed them both, checking for signs of lies, but he found none and began to tear his judgement away from them.

"It wasn't the Modesteps or Nade, they're banished. Champwan hasn't even woken up...and the priest hates horses" he said to himself rather than to them

"Woah there, lets go back a bit. They were banished!? When and for how long, but most importantly, by who?" Tucker asked for them both

Tom just shrugged as if it wasn't important, still, Sonja could see the smirk of satisfaction on his face.

"Dianite did, yesterday. They did something to really piss him off and he banished the tree of them from the island forever, weren't even allowed to say goodbye. I think they are in the ruins of my old village, forced to live there forever I guess" Tom said, adding a satisfactory laugh at the end

"Well...that happened under our noses" Sonja said shocked, slightly pleased herself, but mostly shocked.

"Maybe I should tell Jordan, she would probably be the happiest knowing that they are gone. Is she still at her oversized tree?" Tom asked

"No, she's off doing who knows what, mining probably" Tucker said

"No...she hates going down to the mines alone ever since five of those giant spiders almost killed her, she would have asked me to go along. Hmm...she knew that my horse was the fastest too, and now its missing" Tom said slowly, as if connecting mental dots in his head

"Then she's probably out for a ride. Oh wait...didn't she have to meet the wizards for building and potion lessons today? She probably went over to their castle" Tucker said, disinterested in Tom's concern focusing on his meal instead

"No, and she isn't home either, I just checked" Wag said from the front door

He was a polite man and stood outside until he was welcomed in. Tom gasped and threw his arms up with rage

"She is never late to any appointment, that proves it!! She did take my horse and went somewhere without telling me. What if its something cool!!!!????" Tom yelled

Where on Mianite could she have gone to?
