Claire POV-

The sky was cloudy, rain was surely on its way. She could even hear thunder in the distance, getting closer by the second.

There was no place for cover, the grasslands expanded as far as she could see on all directions. Just as she was about to begin running away from the storm she felt a hand on her shoulder.

"I don't remember how I got here...either my nightmares retuned and I'm about to be killed by my old high school mascot or it's you" she was afraid to look but the person behind her lessened the grip on her arm and made its away in front of her.

She looked down at the floor, embarrassed by how childish she was acting. But she just couldn't look at him.

"Jordan" Ianite said softly "Please, look at me"

"Oh my god its you" she said, her hands covering her face to hide her shock

"I'm so sorry!!! Ianite....I'm so sorry I haven't saved you..I...I'm sorry" she said in between tears

She felt his warm hand lift up her chin to face him, she couldn't see clearly past the tears until she let them fall down her face.

He wiped them off and gave her a shy smile that would make any woman swoon.

"You don't need to apologize, there is no reason to" he says calmly

"But there is, your still caged up all alone, I cant imagine what that must be like for you" she replied, frozen in place

"As a god, I am used to being alone, in here and here" he said pointing to his head and his heart. "It's not as bad as you would think"

"Do you know about Dianite then? Is that why your heart is alone?" Jordan said, tears filling up her eyes once more, knowing that she would have to tell him her secret when Ianite gave her a blank stare

"He and I are in a sort of relationship..that doesn't mean that I'm on his side or even his champion! It just means that I'm trying to make him a better person so that he can free you" Jordan more quickly than she would have wanted to.

Ianite didn't say anything, he just stood there, confused

"I shouldn't have said that last part, as of now he clearly has no intention to free you. It would be cruel of me to give you such hope where it shouldn't be. I have no excuse, I have some sort of feelings for him and I don't know if you see that as..."

"Jordan, you don't have to apologize, in fact, I should thank you. You are going out of your way to make him a better man, something that isn't your burden. Though I will say, I'm more than a little bit shocked" he said softly after making all the rain clouds disappear

"I promise you I'm still trying to free you but we don't know where Dianite put you"Jordan said

"I cant tell either. I'm on a jail in the sky, I cant even see the ground from up here" he said

"Ok well, thats a start I guess. I feel like I should have this as my priority...it should have been for a long time. Aren't you mad at me, or Dianite for dating me though!?" She asked afraid of his answer, but she couldn't except that he had moved past that so quickly

"No one should be punished for love Jordan, ever" he said, plain and simple

"You are too kind my lord...i just realized the last time we talked like this, it must have been quite a shock"Jordan said sitting on a bench that had materialized out of thin air

"I'm just glad you're not dying anymore" Ianite replied with a smile

"Well, were all dying, thats what it means to be alive, what the condition of living is. I guess I should have feared my death more, but after dying so many times, it just became second nature to accept it I guess"

"No human should have to deal with days like those, and no human should have to live with the burdens you deal with. I can see it within you, the worry of your family, your home, your relationship with my brother, survival, your friends, your future, but most of all your sanity" he said "Allow me to remove on of those for now, I will find a way out of this cell, that is no longer your burden my dear"

"What! But how! What am I supposed to do then?" She asked, was he giving up on her or just worried?

"To do nothing is one of the hardest tasks to accomplish at times, I can tell that being impartial is not your nature and that it will take every bit of strength you have to let this go, but you don't need to fix everything Jordan"

"How will you escape then!? As your champion it is my duty to help you"

"You are my champion, but you are also a human. Mianite told me of what you have done, created a judicial system in the form of a court, created outings to avoid conflict after purges, created a system to lessen robberies, and you are bringing out the human side of my brother. I would say that you are creating more balance than you give yourself credit for" he said sitting down next to her

He was still as tall and handsome as she remembered, his vibrant purple hair shifting with the wind and his dark eyes glistening as brightly as his smile. He still wore a suit with small purple features though it was probably different from what his actual outfit was, it fit him well.

Around his hands were dark and purple particles swirling around faster than she could keep up with. He was probably regaining his strength and powers in that case.

"Are you saying I cant help you myself?" She asked her god

"Im saying you wont need to my dear champion, in time you will receive the help necessary to prevent this war, I have faith in you, no matter where your heart lies"

"Iani...."

"When the time comes you will know what needs to be done, you wont have to burden yourself alone" the god said before getting up and disappearing

"Goodbye my lord" She said to the one that was no longer there.
