《The Spark of Balance: The Realm of Mianite (Book 1)》Ch.81- New home

Claire POV
"It's beautiful! Just as I always imagined it would be" Jordan exclaimed in awe at her new home.
"Always?" Asked Wag "You just came up with this idea a few weeks ago"
"Right...I was just being dramatic. But seriously, you guys did a great job!"
"if I may ask, why did you want us to cage a slime inside?" Wag asked rubbing the back of his head
"Symbolism really, lets just say this home wouldn't be complete without it"
"Alright then, I should get going back to my castle. You should come visit more often, we love spending time with you" Wag exclaimed
"I'd love to! Thanks to you guys and your magic I can charge my iPad now so we can watch some movies together! And I could bring some tea as well, since its your favorite!" Jordan said
"We would like that. Maybe we can listen to some of your music as well, its so intricate and complicated, almost hypnotizing"
Jordan laughed and hugged the wizard.
"You bet! I'll see you tomorrow for our potion lessons?" She asked
Wag hugged her back and fixed up her cape before answering.
"Of course! Lets try not to burn a forest down this time" he joked
"Dianite has entered the world of Mianite" said the wold communicator before she could come up with a snarky remark
"Well, I'm gonna go hide and take all my valuables with me, I suggest you do the same. I heard about how he attacked you a few weeks ago, should be more careful from now on" Wag said practically pushing her inside her new house
"JORDAN LET ME IN! HE'S COMING FOR ME!" Tom screamed, pushing past the wizard and locking them both inside
"By the way, nice house" he said once they were inside
"Are you insane?! Do you mean Dianite? What happened this time?"she asked her best friend
"He still wants to kill me!"
"But you got the Dianite armor back that day we dueled, shouldn't that calm him down?"

Tom paced back and forth, almost tripping once or twice because he was so distracted by his own thoughts.
Jordan finally stopped him and gave him a hug
"You're fine Tom, he's not gonna just come and kill you for no reason. I'm....80% sure of it"she said
"*80%! Jordan think about it, he rarely comes to our world, specially as of late"Tom said "I must have done something!"
That him not being around as of late was kinda her fault. After his odd behavior at the priest's she had them both working together to find Nvidia as punishment.
The only reason why they even agreed to it was because she told the Priest that she would tell Mianite about the time he killed two villagers for not giving him the right supplies, and she told Dia that she would go have a talk with Tom about the supposed "crush" thing.
If there was one thing that Tucker had taught her was that manipulation was a good ally to have when diplomacy failed.
She had been worried about Champwan, sometimes late at night she would run by his house on her way to the nether, Jordan could tell the nightmares still haunted him.
She just wished he would open up about it with her and the others, it would be much easier to help him then.
Maybe Ianite could have helped better, but she still hadn't seen him since that day with his brothers, not even in her dreams. She knew he was still live because her nightmares were still absent, so that was a good sign.
Jordan had even searched around Dianite's castle in search for clues as to where he could be, so far, nothing useful was found.
At least she had problems such as what was happening with Tom and Dia at the moment to keep her thoughts away from that. Otherwise, she may actually go insane worrying about how Ianite was and if he was mad at her or not.

Thankfully, Tom's overreacting always snapped her out of them.
"He wont come in here, ok? Lets just stay calm and listen to music, how about that!" She said in an attempt to take his mind off his problems.
"Can I choose the song?" Tom asked with his classic puppy eyes
"Go ahead" Jordan said, taking a seat in her new living room on a purple couch by the fireplace.
Unlike Jordan Maron, she had taken the liberty of decorating the whole place yesterday. Making it more home like.
"Ok...you're gonna dance this one with me"he said making his selection
"Tom, you know I don't enjoy dancing very much" Jordan complained, but he was already dragging her to the open space in her living room.
"I heard this one when you let me borrow your device and have been wanting to dance it with you since you taught me how to dance last week" he said "Promise I wont step on your toes anymore"
"Ok, play it" she said, giving in
Jordan expected it to be a very fast paced song, but was immediately shocked when she heard the guitar string s playing from her iPad.
She knew that song...
Tom didn't even let her process the song fully, he put a hand around her waist and grabbed on to the other. Taking a step forward and her taking one the opposite direction, they began dancing in circles around the living room.
He had gotten much better, in fact, he was the one leading the dance, even spinning her around a few times without any awkward stops.
It had been ages since she heard that song, didn't even know she owned it. But it was absolutely perfect, they found their pace went well with the song, she couldn't help but smile at how well her lessons had worked.
"You know I mean every word of this song right? I want to be your hero, I know you don't really need one since you are more than capable of protecting yourself...but no matter how crazy I get, how many pranks I pull on you, I always worry about you" he said as he pinned her around once more
"You know, the first time I heard this song was at a festival, everyone started dancing with their significant other and all I could do was step away and watch. I never though I would dance this with anyone, specially with such great dancer" she joked
"Well, I had a good teacher" Tom replied, leaning his forehead against hers and pulling her closer "You will never be alone ever again, I can at least promise you will always have someone to dance with from now until someone kills me"
The flame from the fire place was slowly getting smaller and smaller, filling the room with more darkness as the seconds passed by.
Jordan felt out of breath, they were so close to each other, his eyes on her at all times staring into her soul. She didn't know what to do.
"I will stand by you forever" Tom said along with the song, which made her smile.
He had actually learned the lyrics...
"You can take my breath away" she continued singing
It really was more like a statement, for some reason she really did feel out of breath. Tom just smiled and closed his eyes, still resting against her.
Once the song ended, the room was dead quiet as they stared into each other's eyes, the flame almost gone, making it harder to see his face.
She waited for him to make a joke or something, but all he did was stare.
Then the fire, as if taking a life of it's own, engulfed in large flames almost reaching the tom cobble of the fire place. That send them both screaming.
Then out of the shadows rose a familiar voice.
"What a lovely song you chose there Thomas" said Dianite with his usual "Lord of the Nether tone".

Beyond the Bridge
There are many worlds, many multiverses, and you can move between them via the Federation's Bridge network - magical gateways to other worlds. The world dubbed "C'thon" by its inhabitants - or Gamma-Theta-Nu-649, if you ask the Federation's bureaucracy - was deserted when the Federation found it. The "civilized" races had all died out centuries prior, and the wilderness had grown downright feral in their absence. Now, the lonely Federation outpost of Bridgetown is under constant threat from the hungry wildlife, malicious fey, territorial goblins, and wandering undead that surround it. The town's distance from the Federation's centers of power means that it gets precious few of the resources that it needs to stay safe and afloat. Enter the Guild of Adventurers, a plucky and disparate crew who do the Federation's dirty work in exchange for coin. One team, the first of many, crosses the Bridge to C'thon looking for fame, fortune, and (if they're lucky) the answer to a newly-discovered Prophecy. They'll get much more than they bargained for, although first they need to avoid being eaten by the local wildlife. Updates weekly on Wednesday. Chapters will be as long as they need to be for them to work, which means they can vary. If anything drops below 2500 words, I'll post an extra chapter if I have one ready. [PS: This is not a litRPG, but I do borrow heavily from TTRPGs for inspiration, and the general setting and storyline is from a TTRPG campaign I'm running.] [PPS: This is my first attempt at writing long-form fiction. I'm not trying to make a great piece of literature or have a multi-novel overarching plot, but hopefully it'll still be a fun story - let me know what you think in the comments.] [PPPS: Cover image is from a free-download wallpaper by Tyler Edlin; I do not own it, and will take it down immediately if requested.]
