Claire POV-

"We'll be using the vaults this time right?" Sonja asked

"Yeah, thats the plan, I finally finished mine this morning, did the whole thing myself" Jordan responded, proud of her work

"The rest of us needed the help of the wizards, but I cant wait to break my way in and get all your loot" she said as she dipped her feet into the river and tied her hair back behind her ears

"Sonja, we have been friends for some time now and there is something I've been meaning to ask" Jordan said mirroring her actions "i know the ears and tail are real, but how is that possible?"

Sonja just laughed

"You mean to say my species doesn't exist in your world?"

"Nah" Jordan said "though many would die to be like you probably"

"Well, I guess you don't know much about our history. My ancestors were hunters, they were also human at the time. One day, Miante decided to grant them a generous gift because he saw strength and humility in their hearts. To help them be more successful at hunting, he granted them animal like features to heighten smell, hearing, and even speed. As generations went by, the traits were passed down until we became a different species" she said

Jordan laid down on the grass but kept her feet in the water. She stared at the sky in disbelief at the power of the gods.

"And so thats why you're part fox? Your parents were part fox then?" Jordan asked

"No, my mother was. My father was part wolf but I didn't get those traits, its one or the other" she said, looking back on a happy memory Jordan couldn't see but she could feel the happiness it radiated off Sonja

"Then why isn't Tucker like you? I though you said that both of you lived in the same village"

"Our village wasn't like most, we had my species and yours living together in harmony, thats why Dianite's people attacked it. They didn't exactly agree with that kind of mentality" she said "But Tucker has never seen me as different, there is no status or species between us, our love is just love based on nothing else but raw emotion"

That brought tears to them both

"Tucker is a great guy, your both so lucky to have each other" Jordan said " You looked past appearances, there isn't a more honest love than that"

Sonja smiled and took out some food from the basket their brought

"We're very happy together, its the little things that make it special for me. He always looks out for me and he lets me pick out flowers for him, he doesn't think its too girly and gladly accepts them every time. He loves the weirdness in me and accepts my flaws and pain, he heals me and is very patient with me"

"So I guess we officially moved on to girl talk?" Jordan joked

She though their love was the sweetest thing in the world and didn't mean to belittle it, that strength they gave each other was inspiring. The thing was, Jordan didn't have many girlfriends to talk to when she was growing up, having them now was a nice feeling.

"Of course, that's why we're here. Well, also to relax before the purge...but mostly the girl drama!" She said with so much excitement that her little fox ears wiggled in response

"Then what other drama do you want to discuss?"

"How about you? Any love in that heart of yours?"Sonja said with a smile

"No comment on that, pass me some bread" Jordan responded

Nope...feelings talk was something she needed to stay away from. She already he'd to lie to Sonja about the shadows, another lie would be to much for her to bear, she was her best friend after all.

"Common! What about Ianite, don't you guys dream talk or something? Whenever you speak of him you get very tense and blushed, don't thing I haven't noticed"

"What!!!!" Jordan screamed

"Just like right now!!! See!!! What do you guys do in your dreams then, give each other...justice...or talk about boring world balance stuff?"

"SONJA!!!!! He is my god, I am his champion! He and I have a very professional relationship, I focus on getting him out of his cell so that he can bring balance. Its like saying that you and Mianite are dating, you know how champion relationships are like, mine is no different"

"A human dating a god! Yeah never mind, that is impossible. I was just giving you a hard time, I know what its like to worship a god" she said

Well...human dating a god...its happening alright. She just guessed the wrong one.

"Then what about Tom?" She said

"What about Tom? Of course he's not dating one of the gods! Just because you have Tucker doesn't mean we would be with gods!" Jordan said

"No silly! What about you and Tom?"

Her and Tom?

"Remember what happened last time you said stuff like that? I'm getting a very familiar deja vu, one in which the answer is a clear no"

"Champwan?"

"Sonja he's a very good friend of mine! Of course not!"

"The priest then?"

"I'm not even gonna bother answering that one"

"Not even gonna bother asking about the rest of our inhabitants, you'd never be with any of them" Sonja said with certainty

"I'd kill myself before I date my captors"

"I know that, then what jury drama do you have? Are you thinking of being with any of them? Have any of them made a move?"

"Sonja, I dont need a man in my life, Mianite is about survival not love. If I were ever to date anyone here it would be because I have feelings that surpass my survival instincts, and that would be very hard to do at this point"

"Hey didn't Dianite kill you before? We never got to talk about it because of your recovery, Tucker told me that he kissed you after he killed you"

"That may have happened..." Jordan said, unable to come up with a good lie to which there was evidence to

Sonja got up and moved across the small river to sit next to her.

"I though he was joking at first! What kind of evil ritual could Dianite be doing that required him to kiss a human, that man is pure evil! Did you have the wizards check for traces of dark magic?"

"Oh deer! Just forget about that, there is no dark magic involved" Jordan said, hiding her possibly red face.

"I cant believe I'm asking but for the sake of girl gossip I must..was he a good kisser at the very least?" She said with glowing eyes

"Yeah, was he a good kisser?" Tucker said from behind them with a girly voice impression"hey why don't we go to his deadly castle and ask him on a date too"

"Tucker! This is official private girl talk!!!!" Sonja screamed in frustration

Jordan couldn't be happier for Tucker's sudden appearance, it was a distraction that just helped her dodge a bullet.

"Well, the purge will start in about an hour, just came to let you know"

"Thats why we have the world communicator you know!!!" Jordan said

"Well, you still haven't answered the question shorty!" Tucker said

"Its girl talk remember!!!" Jordan snapped back

"Was it?" Sonja asked that time

"Ughhh, I was kissed by the lord of the nether, what do you think?" Was the most vague answer she could come up with

"True" Sonja said " Poor Jordan, why is the universe letting so many bad things happen to you?"

"Ive been asking myself that since I got here...but its not all bad, I have you guys"

Both of her friends gave her fake crying expressions before she playfully punched them both.

"Lets get this purge going, I'm gonna get you back for all of this sass!" Jordan screamed as the three of them ran towards home, trowing grass at each other on the way

Let the purge begin!!!!
