《The Spark of Balance: The Realm of Mianite (Book 1)》Ch64- Tom's Nether trip

Tom POV-
"Why haven't you said a word since you arrived boy? Creeper blow up your tongue?" Dianite asked
"Just busy with the tasks you've given me" Tom answered politely
"Dont lie!" He screamed, throwing a sword across the room
Well, so much for not dying in the nether...
"Im just worried about my best friend, you know, the one you stabbed and made out with?" Tom said coldly
If he was gonna die, might as well say what he felt.
"Is she alive or not? I believe your anger is therefore pointless" Dianite said as he fetched one of his minions
In the times Tom had gone to the nether, he always loved messing with them and train by killing mobs. Today he just felt like going back home.
"She means the world to me you know? I know what you...have...is very complex, but Jordan and I are all we have. Convincing her that she's evil won't change that my lord" Tom said as he finished up some potions
"It seem as though her fondness has expanded to Champwan, they seem to be closer friends than ever since he did save her life don't you think?" Said Dianite with a wicked smile
Truth was, he had thought about it and he couldn't help but to be a bit possessive with her. She was all he had.
"For instance, are you aware that Jordan will be staying in his residence these days? He's the only one with the non-magical expertise to help her if she becomes ill after all..." he said after teleporting in front of him
When was that decided?
"You can kill me for saying this, but I saw the way you glared at her. This concerns you just as much if not more since she hates you. Meanwhile, her and I are inseparable since the day I found her at the river" he answered

Tom didn't even want to look at his god's face, though he seemed calm and upset, he was beyond terrified so he made his way to the storage area
It had been two days since he had arrived to be of service to his god, two long quite days...
Days in which Dianite had forbidden him from speaking to his friends and focus on a lot of work. Rubbish...
After deciding he didnt want to go face his god, Tom began preparations to go mine for supplies, seemed like a good enough excuse.
In a way, Tom was happy he didn't witness Jordan and Dianite together. If he had, h would have been able to tell what she felt by just looking into her eyes, by the way she looked at him. That was question he thought he knew the answer to.
All of that wasn't even because he had feelings for her, but because he didn't want Dianite to change her.
Though they didn't always see eye to eye on what was best for the world at times, she managed to bring a lot of good wherever she went. Dianite would keep that part for himself and have her create chaos.
Not that Tom cared about the world, he just cared about Jordan.
As he mined in a cave at the basement of the castle he didn't think about how tired he was or how almost everything there (including his god) wanted to kill him, he thought of his friends...
If there was a war coming, he would have to chose sides. Not only him, but Jordan as well and its a little unclear which side she might take. Either way, he knew a war would come as soon as he saw Mianite and Dianite fight for the first time.

Wether or not he could bare to stand against his friends was questionable, standing against him god was near impossible to consider... and there was no middle ground.
Not that he would have taken the middle ground, he loved chaos and thats what he was likely to chose.
Still...it was something to think about.
"Not surprised to see ya down here, you always get productive when your emotional" said someone approaching the corridor he was in.
But he knew that voice..
"If it isn't Mr. Steal your girl, what do you want?" Tom said coldly as Champwan appeared in front of him
"My job, Dianite called me for some council but I came to make sure he wasn't working you to death" he replied calmly
"Why do you care?"
Champwan then grabbed one of the picks from the floor and began mining along
"Jordan asked me to make you're you were doing ok" he said
Score one for Tom...Muahaha
"How is everyone?" Tom asked disinterested
"Lets just say they have been productive" he said
That didn't sound good at all...
"Well, at least you and I get to have a very much anticipated conversation" Tom said
"Figures, that's also why I'm here" he responded

For to stop is to die, and to die means he failed, failed himself and all those who still desperately need him.***The Author's Note:This is another in the Core series, the first one being The Wardens of Destiny while there is also a side story The Memoires of Eisen that's exclusive on Patreon for those who would like to support me.The Recordings of Raan occurs after the events in The Wardens of Destiny, and it's a separate thread from the main story. Among other things, I separated it into a new book as it has elements of progressive LitRPG and a fantasy-world setting.Since I'll keep on writing The Wardens of Destiny, this will be one of my side-projects. Eventually in the future, I plan to integrate some of the protagonists in this story with the main storyline.
