Mianite POV-

"Brother, we need to have a very...unexpected talk" said Mianite

"Mianite, I think something bad has happened to Jordan, she said she was dying. You have to help her!" Ianite said flustered

It had been a few hours since he had a talk with Jordan and Dianite, and against his morals, spied on their private conversation afterwards.

Though he was mostly worried for Jordan's safety, it all seemed so...possible.

He had grown up with his brother Dianite, during which he saw his brother's evil rise slowly everyday. Though he had hoped a piece of goodness remained, that hope had diminished throughout the years as he saw Diane commit unspeakable crimes.

Still, the hope always came back when he thought of his mother. She had taught them about the goodness of the world, the possibility and capability of emotions.

Unfortunately their father had always seen Dianite as his successor of sorts, his perfect protege. It broke his mother's heart to see what he was becoming and insisted that he needed to feel more, that was he only way he would recover.

He did feel later on in life...but he felt anger and ambition. While he and Ianite played and helped out the humans as much as they could, Dianite had to run off with their father to learn to follow a darker path.

In time, Dianite grew to dislike them both because they were praised constantly while he lived in the shadows, shackled by their fathers influence.

Many humans and wizards alike grew very fond of them then since they were young gods and followers began forming all over the place. Dianite must have grown jealous because he went and got followers a different way, by forcing them with fear and intending to rule them with an iron fist.

Mother grew weary of the possible darkness that could arise, she did everything she could to bring happiness and love to Dianite's heart...it just wasn't enough...she died trying though.

But seeing him joke around with Jordan, messing with each other and laughing...maybe their mother would be most pleased.

Dianite was gentle with Jordan, he cared so much that it became difficult to hide his emotions. Though he was trying to drag her down a dark path, Jordan was bringing out good in him little by little, showing mercy was a big step for him already.

Miante couldn't help but be happy, for the first time in centuries, Dianite had a chance to be good. But......

There was the small matter of Ianite, he treasured Jordan more than anything, she was the first ray of happiness and hope he had seen in a long time.

If Jordan couldn't fight Dinaite's influence and became just like him and joined his side, it would crush Ianite. All the things that were keeping him fighting would fade.

It would be such a shame since they complemented each other so well, their personalities and spirit were so similar that Mianite couldn't help but see a piece of Ianite in Jordan every time he looked at her.

In an odd way, they both needed her to be better and heal to become the best version of themselves. Sadly, she couldn't fully fix one without breaking the other.

At some point, one of them would lose their way and chaos would arise. Mianite didn't think Jordan realized all of that, about how much she was needed and how much was at stake. Right now she was just confused.

She had kissed Dianite, perhaps not as an act of love but rather an act of comfort. Dianite on the other hand had kissed her out of possessiveness or need, both things he didn't understand due to his reclusive nature.

He most likely didn't know how he felt and that could be confusing her as well, humans tend to be very straight forward with feelings and can classify them easily. They are aware of how to approach them and what they mean with ease, gods are not like that at all.

Miante didn't mean to intrude in matters that weren't his own, but even he could tell that there were some humans who knew exactly how they felt about her.

How all three gods would deal with that was not that big of a mystery. Diante would be pissed, Ianite would be worried, and he would be wondering how that decision would affect her and the work she is now tasked with.

Who knew a human from another world would cause so much commotion and be responsible for such a big task like peace and balance?

Question was, how much was acceptable to tell his younger brother at the moment?

"She's alright. Alive and well at the moment I may add" he finally said

It was rare that he could speak to his brother, wasn't even sure if it would work, but Ianite must be getting stronger since it was possible.

"What happened!?" Ianite asked

"How did you know something was wrong?" Miante asked

"Well, I was sleeping, suddenly she shows up in my dreams but the atmosphere was very dark. Then wounds became apparent and she fainted, when I reached her, she was no longer breathing, then she disappeared" he said

"Its very strange that your minds could connect in such instances, perhaps you have more ways to communicate with your champion than we thought"

"I suppose, would you mind telling me what happened? I have a dark feeling about this" Ianite said

"Im afraid she may be more like you than we thought. She got in the way of Dianite to save the last remaining wizards, it was outside of the island though but I'm sure you can fill in the details" he replied

"Some survived?....what about Dianite, have the inhabitants of the island killed him already?"

"No, it was an accident. Aside from my champion Tucker, everyone else seems relatively calm" he confessed

"How so? Accident or not, Dianite must have enjoyed it" he said

He was his brother... they had always been very close, they were all they had. Sadly he knew his brother all too well, knowing that Dianite and his beloved champion had complicated feelings would crush him.

Dianite was his captor after all, he may take it as a sign of his champion leaving him when that could be farther from the truth. From what he gathered, Ianite was one of the big things keeping her on the side of good.

Though he wouldn't be there to see his brothers reaction personally, he knew he couldn't keep things a secret, even if its Jordan that should be explaining it but she had been through enough already.

After all, Jordan had come to him for advice, she could have kept it to herself, so he couldn't keep this from Ianite

"You've missed much in your absence brother, all of which you must process carefully. I want to make one thing clear, Jordan is still fighting for you more than anything, you're her priority, don't ever forget it. Life is complicated like mother said, but if it weren't complicated it wouldn't be real..." Mianite said as he began explaining everything the way Jordan had explained to Tom in private.

Ianite's first response was rather unexpected.

"Are you sure he doesn't have her under some sort of spell? He has always been talented with trickery...dont answer that...I believe mother would be pleased that Dianite is opening up to someone. It may help him in a way, which is all I ever wanted" he said in a sad tone

"We spent so many years trying to fix him, bring him back to us. Perhaps she may be the only one who can. She is great at restoring balance, just as you are dear brother. Regardless of how that stuff turns out, her and I are working on a way to free you no matter what. You'll be out of that cell in no time" Mianite assured

"I guess that all explains why I haven't seen him for a while, he hasn't come to bother me in a long time. I guess I owe thanks to my champion for that, and for saving the species we never could" Ianite said. "I just hope she doesn't focus too much on the evil he sees in her. The guilt could change her"

"Indeed. As much as I would like to say that she will be able to get you out, I believe its wise to look for help. Any suggestions?" Miante asked

Even if Jordan could persuade Dianite, it would take long for that to happen....

"As I have been regaining my strength I began to sense some of my followers still survived. They are far but perhaps I could reach them when I gain more strength. They should be able to help" Ianite responded

"Thats fantastic news brother. We could use the help. Anyhow, I won't waste any more of your energy. Farewell" Miante said before ending the mind connection

It was in moments like those that Mianite wished his mother was there to make everything as clear as water.
