《The Spark of Balance: The Realm of Mianite (Book 1)》Ch47- Lava and confusion

Claire POV-

Under normal circumstances, Jordan would have been terrified of Dianite, but seeing him standing in his mighty castle made him even more terrifying....

He built this in a few days! Weeks at most! And here was this monumental fortress ready for war. Question was, what war was he expecting?

Jordan tried not to move, as if that could make her invisible or somehow make her untouchable. That's why she nearly jumped 10 feet into the sky when Dianite appeared in front of her. Dianite wasn't how he usually was around her, right now he was full on Lord of the Nether.

"Guys, you need to come now!" She screamed through the world communicator.

Dianite leaned closer to her and whispered as if not wanting anyone else to hear "Its great to see you again, glad to see the experience with my father didnt petrify you"

"Well, I killed him. I'm not as afraid of god's as you may think" Jordan lied trying to make herself seem more relaxed.

"What should we do about that then I wonder? Hmm, you brought your Mianitee friends. This must be quite the party." He said before Sonja showed up around the corner of the pillar closest to Jordan.

Jordan gave her friend a relieved look, by the time she turned back to face Dianite she saw he had teleported back to his throne as if he had never left.

Soon after Tucker showed up, Dianite's smile returned and he sat back in his throne. Tucker now noticing the presence of the god pushed Sonja and Jordan behind him, holding out his wooden sword as a warning to the god.

Dianite just glared at Tucker for no logical reason, clearly a wooden sword wouldn't do any harm, what could all the fuss be about?

Maybe it was because Tucker and Sonja were team Miante, though it would be expected for Tucker to be the one pissed off in that case.

As the lord of the Nethe defended slowly he began to speak once again, regaining his posture.

"Greetings. I have some things for you, if you can find them" he said

The three of them looked at eachother confused and annoyed. Why was it that god's loved making things harder on everyone? Clearly they were all thing that.

"Well, I guess that means we have to begin searching." Said Tucker leaving for the par core in a hurry, eager to try it out.

Meanwhile Sonja exchanged a relief glance at Jordan and began her search. At least they weren't kicked out or killed, as relieved as Jordan was about that, it was odd behavior from Dianite.

It would be expected that he wouldn't be happy with their visit, yet he was letting them roam around while he sat down in one of the corridor chairs without a care in the world.

After making sure he wouldn't ambush her from behind, Jordan began looking around for the things that were promised.

She could hear Tucker's frustration echoing through the building, making the ambiance more relaxing. Jordan almost forgot that Dianite himself was there, it's seemed like they were all just hanging out.

When Jordan made her way into the small prayer room under Dianite's throne she hear someone trying to break something.

"This can't be! This whole place is under a protective spell! We can't break anything...well, so much for my attempt at cheating this thing" said Tucker in disbelief

Magic that could...Jordan had to test it out. She tried to break the wall next to her, sure enough no matter what she used it was impossible to break!

This would just got weirder by the minute...

When she stepped back in shock, Jordan failed to notice there was a whole in the ground and fell right through it.

The fall was so quick she didn't even have time to scream, lucky for her she managed to slow her fall by using the walls around her so not much damage was done.

When Jordan looked up she realized where she was, the prayer room. It was much like the one she had seen in the Miante temple. It was a small whole in the ground where one could drop their sacrifices and letters for the god's according to Tucker.

Now there she was, 20 feet below with no materials to build her way back up. The walls were too far apart to try to scale her way up as well. When she realized there was no way out she didn't the only things she could thing of.

"Guys!!! Help! I fell into the prayer room by accident and can't make my way out!" She screamed

Luckily Sonja made her way there quickly and looked down at the whole, at first she showed concern, then she began to laugh...

"How did you.... you actually fell. Oh my god.." Sonja said laughing soon followed by Tucker's laughter

Though this was a serious problem she couldn't help but laugh too, she could bet no one was clumsy enough to fall through like her.

When the laugher began to die out, Jordan looked up to find Dinate was also staring down at her. Concern filled the looks on her friends faces and he began to descend.

There was no where to run or hide in that small area, once he made his way down they had very little space between them...

"I could kill you" he screamed, taking out a diamond sword to make his message clear to everyone.

"Or..." he said as he took out a small ladder in a more hushed voice. Jordan was mostly sure that Tucker hadn't heard that last part because she could hear him freaking out.

Dying in a small whole in the ground of another dimension was not a way she wanted to die, specially at the mercy of Dianite. But she just couldn't help to be afraid so she went for the weaker response.

"The ladder. Please!" Jordan said

Dianite stood there for a few seconds with that evil grinn on his face. Jordan had even heard Tucker leaving to find something to help her, short after that Dianite grabbed her by the waist and teleported her out.

It was a little disorienting but when she opened her eyes she found herself at the edge of the room she was in before. Sonja let out a relived sigh and hugged her best friend.

Meanwhile Dinate just stood there...happy?

"Tucker she's out." Sonja said

"How!" He asked

"Dinate teleported her out. Hold on, the lord of the nether showed mercy?" She said now turning her attention to the god in front of them

"No way! Is lord Dianite going soft?" Asked Tucker

Dinate looked shocked, as if he made a mistake. Before they had time to react, Dianite made his way to the edge of the room and using his powers he locker Jordan and Sonja inside.

Jordan wasn't too frightened until she realized that nothing could be destroyed, so she couldn't break her way of of there...they were trapped.

Like Ianite...

"Dianite! What! Common what the hell!" Jordan screamed as she tried to punch the wall

She could even hear him laughing on the other side until finally he brought the wall down. He looked at Sonja and said "Leave, now! Make your boy toy stop screaming before I make him myself"

With that Sonja ran out of the room. When Jordan began to run after her to Tucker, Dianite stopped her and closed the room off once more.

"Seriously, what is up with you and trapping people.." Jordan screamed in frustration

Dianite said nothing, he also never let go of her arm for a second. Just stood there like a statue.

"Why are you acting so strange? And where the hell have you been!?" She asked, pushing for an answer

"Building places like this take long hours of dedication dear, why? Did you miss me?" He said

"Of course not! It's just concerning not knowing that you can appear any second to cause chaos, or throw me down to the ocean!" She said, this time trying to break free from his hold

"I suppose that is true. Still. There is no shame in admitting you missed me, you an I both know you're just playing hard to get. Soon you will join my side" Dianite whispered as he held her by the waist to lift her up to eye level.

"Is that why you have shown me mercy? You think I've changed my mind? The. Why are you so secretive about it. Why do you act differently around me?" She asked

Honestly, it still made no sense why he would want her on his side. She want much like him, she wasn't like Tom...

"I...don't know. There was no mercy actually, you just owe me a favor now." He said letting go of her.

A favor! For that! No way she would...

"Speaking of favors i believe you owe me a few yourself. That's why I've been meaning to talk to you. You owe me!" She said making her way to the other side of the room

"For what?"

"Oh I don't know, not killing you! Maybe because I killed your father and went on a dangerous undercover mission that could have killed me!" She said quietly just in case ther was someone outside

"You think that I owe you, my dear, I'm a god. I owe you nothing... well, it depends what kind of payment you would like..." he said smiling

"I want you to free Ianite, today" that was the only things she wanted, or at least the only thing he could give her

"Be careful what you say, you're treading dangerous waters. You don't get to talk to a god like that and get away with it, is me showing mercy getting to your head? Must I remind you who I am?" He said somehow closing in the walls, making the room smaller and smaller until they were right in front of eachother.

Jordan was speechless, one second he was somewhat bearable and the next he was terrifying. Clearly she couldn't strike a deal with him when he was like this, she just had to try.

For Ianite.

"Can you at least just tell me why.." she asked, standing up straighter to look him in the eye properly

"What!?" He screamed

"Do you treat me like this because you think I'm her!? Ianite once said that I reminded him of your mother, and so did Mianite. Is that why you all treat me like this!? Are you guys just acting nice to me because I remind you of her? If that's the case, I'm not you mother! Get over it!" She screamed back, unintentionally getting closer to him. Jordan practically wanted to scream it to his face

"You fool, and I thought you were smart. That's not the case at all.." he said as he kissed her forehead " in my opinion, you're nothing like her. But you will be mine..." he said

She had closed her eyes out of fear mid sentence, then he kissed her forehead...

Once she opened her eyes she was back outside and the entrance to the room was open as if nothing had happened.

He hadn't even answered her question...

But what the hell! Jordan was so connfused she was too wrapped up in her thoughts. What had just happened? Why didn't he do that? Maybe he poisoned her or something.

"Jordan"

Maybe he accidentally tripped and kissed her?

"Jordan"

Perhaps that meant something different to god's? Because a friendly kiss like that was something friends did right?

"Jordan! Common Tom and Nade are on their way back here, let's stop them!" Said Sonja

"Stop them... oh right! Let's go! I'll follow" Jordan said

During the whole time she was thinking Tucker and Sonja had been in front of her screaming her name...embarrassing.

While Sonja just shrugged it off because of her excitement to mess with Tom, Tucker held her in place with a worried look on his face.

"You ok? I was looking for you after Sonja said you made it out of the room, are you feeling ok?" He asked

"Oh, yeah! Just... we don't have a neather in my world, it's kinda freaking me out." She lied

Although she loved Tucker like an older brother, she couldn't tell him about that. He had a tendency of overreacting. Plus he hated Dianite, he would use any excuse to go kill him... if Tucker knew that he had held her captive in that room, he would freak.

"If you want I can go walk you back home, I don't want you to be here if it's too much for you." He said

Man...he was so sweet. For the big pile of salt that he was he could turn it into sugar sometimes... and she loved him for that.

"I'm ok now, there is no need. Besides, missing a chance to mess with the Dianitees? No way I would let this opportunity pass!" She said dragging him outside

"A bit late to your own temple party aren't you Tom?" Jordan asked not really knowing where he was

"Oh shut up! Seriously guys, my god is waiting for me!" He answered almost instantly but was soon followed by a message from the world communicator that made them all burst into tears of laughter

Tom fell from a high place

"Seriously you fell!" Sonja said

"I had all my diamond stuff! It's not funny! Now it's all burnt by lava! Noooooo!" Said Tom

"Omg!" Said Dianite

For a second she though he may be around but found no one in sight

"You have a god?" Asked Tom so carelessly, of course that made everyone laugh even louder...

Jordan laughed so hard that she almost missed Tucker trying to call out to her. He didn't say anything out loud bypu took her to a cave nearby where he had been. When she looked inside she saw why he was being so secretive.

That cave had some pillars scattered along the lava through the cage, much like the pillars form inside the temple..

They led somewhere, possibly to secret stuff. Tucker stoped using the world communicator and told her he would go get fire protection potions for her, but they had to keep it from Tom and the rest, otherwise they would al be fighting for it.

She agreed and stood watch for minutes....

Finally when she got tired of waiting, Jordan decided to give it a try herself. One pillar afte the other, she slowly made her way across, being careful to step right. If she misplaced her foot or didn't make a jump, she would fall into the lava below.

After a few minutes of careful planning and much jumping she could see a small island nearby!

When she reached the last step she almost fell in, but managed to regain her footing and roll onto the island.

It wasn't very big, but there was a frame with an object inside of it. Much like in movies she'd seen, she took one of her weapons and shattered the glass with it.

Inside was... an apple? A golden apple

There was a carving on it that read "Treasures of Dianite" in golden letters. That had to be important!

As she was about to leave he saw the cave was full of diamonds and gold! All there for the taking, a part of the reward.

"Hay guys! The only thing strong enough to mine out diamonds is a diamond pick right?" She asked, Jordan didn't want to stand there for ours trying to mine out this stuff with an iron pick for nothing.

"True that!" Answered Tucker

Well crap. She didn't have one....

"Well I need one! I made it to the othe side and there is lots of stuff to mine so could one of you bring one?" She asked

Then Dianite appeared behind her!

"See you made it to my secret treasure" he said

"You!! Hold on, what the hell was up...with the kiss!" She whispered the last part

"What about it? Want another? Or maybe instead you'll want this" he said taking out a diamond pick out of thin air

"Woah! Why the mercy and kindness again? What do you get out of it?" She asked, afraid to take it.

"Well you made it this far, and I'm glad to help out my future champion, just think of all the help I can give you. I don't see Ianite here to give you what you want" he said dropping got on the floor I front of her feet

Jordan took it but was still weary of it.

"We both know why he isn't here. Yet I suppose I should say thank you. You know that afte rim don with this and my talk with Champwan, I'm comming for you!" She said

"Really? Cant wait, why so excited?" He laughed

"We will talk about all of this weird stuff! I swear you god's are very hard to figure out! I wish this world had aspirin or something." She said

He laughed once more and teleported without saying another word. With that, Jordan began to mine out te materials until she heard a weird noise...

Click!

A part of the wall collapsed and lava began to fall down. Jordan swearved back and forth, making her was up to a lava-less cavity to take cover. Once she struggled up she saw how the small island was already flooded with lava, it was a trap!

"Dianite! I swear!" She screamed.

After everyone was notified of what happened she tried to make her way out by trying to jump back to the pillar path. During her jump her foot slipped and she fell into the lava.

It was so quick and painless she almost thought it was a dream when she woke up back home.

Her clothes and body were normal, but it wasn't unlit she head laughed from her friends that she realized it had happened.

When she tried to run back to get her stuff she noticed it was all gone. That really set her off, she would have screamed but once again she missed a jump and fell into the lava once more.

When she woke up home she saw Champwan standing next to the bed staring at her with a smile.

"Well, are you ready for our talk? Common, we'll go to my place." He said leaving the room

Jordan felt so defeated she didn't even want to go, but she wanted answers. So she grabbed a backpack full of essentials that she pre- prepared, a sword, and caught up to him.

"You're gonna love it" he said

Yeah well. What wasn't here to love in this world right?

One answer, Lava.
