《The Spark of Balance: The Realm of Mianite (Book 1)》Ch41- Unussual Purge

Claire POV-

Killed again.

When Jordan spawned back home she quickly sat down to clear her head, another hothead was definitely not needed right now.

Today was finally purge day again. They hadn't had one since before the incident with the shadows that "technically" didn't happen.

This purge was somewhat different than the others, this one had many restrictions, one of them being that this was a bow only purge.

Most would acert that Jordan wasn't very good at it aside from when she shoot two gods in the chest perfectly of course. The one thing that made it much harder was that they had some unexpected guests this purge, people who didn't normally want to hang out with them.

For one, Champwan decided that his isolation days were through and decided to join. Funny thing was, Jordan had only met him once when she had barely arrived at the island.

He was with them when Jordan was barely recovering from her arrival, he never introduced himself or said much. From what she understood, he was just curious about who had arrived, no concert included.

At the time she thought he was just a shy, closed off kinda guy, she couldn't have been more wrong in underestimating him.

He was a killing machine.

Unstoppable.

Jordan found out just moments ago that he spends every waking moment training and stocking up goods for himself. Since he wasn't fully pledged to any god he had the freedom to do as he desired, the only reason he was allowed to stay on the island was because the god's had a deal with him.

What that deal consisted of was unknown to everyone.

So far he had formed an alliance with Tom against all of them, hence the repeated dying. Oh no, the problems didn't stop there...Kronos also decided to stick around and play.

After the shadows died, death left the island immediately. Seeing as the shadows and death lost their battle, Kronos decided to leave his allegiance to them and declare peace to everyone.

Of course the others think that Kronos was working for the god's the entire time except for me and the priest.

But all of the sudden, the priest was best friends with him!

That morning the priest had announced that HE had invited Kronos to the purge, that had really pissed her off for a while till she realized it wasn't right to kill the messenger. That's all he had done, just deliver a message.

He wasn't a good a fighter as Champwan but he sure was a close second. So while Kronos fought for the priest and Champwan was out looking for blood, Jordan just sat in her living room trying to come up with a strategy.

It was much more relaxing dealing with a fake war that it would be with a real one, like the shadows. She still wasn't over that, at times Jordan even swore she saw him around getting ready to take his revenge.

It was all just paranoia though, it had gotten worse since Tom had moved back to his house, being alone in a big house was a lot more terrifying than before.

Jordan never thought she would see the day that living with Tom was actually a tempting option. After all, he was the only one she could count on to live with.

Tucker and Sonja were still inseparable, joining them would just be weird. Everyone else was pretty much a loner so there was no point in asking them to be her roommate.

It was funny, for the first time in her life she felt both alone and scared. If this was going on a few months back she may have just curled up into a ball and cried in desperation, but war had turned a switch on her.

With that thought she decided to get the hell out of there and go try scoring some points because this was just embarrassing. Luckily she didn't have to do it alone, once again, she had formed an alliance with Tucker and Sonja.

Both of them had gotten back to normal around her, once they accepted the lie that it was just a way of getting back at Nade for what he did to her, they actually kinda congratulated her on making it so believable.

If Jordan hadn't told them that, it would have been impossible to believe that she went out of her way to help Dianite and Mianite.

Did she feel bad? Yes.

Was it wrong to lie to her friends? Most likely.

It was all for the best though, at lest that's what she kept telling herself. As for the gods, they haven't showed up in about two weeks. Last time she saw them was at the island where...where..that incident happened.

She had been meaning to speak to both of them about separate topics she had in mind but settling back and getting ready for the purge had made her more busy than she had expected.

Also, they hadn't answered when she called out to them.

Although these were somewhat happy times when's she is able to hang out with her friends and stock up on stuff for herself, it seemed as though another danger lucked in the distance.

That's when she turned around to find Tom aiming his bow at her.

"Jordan, what are you doing just standing out here? I was about to kill you but something seems to be on your mind Sparklypants. Spill." Said Tom lowering his bow

"Aren't you against me right now?" Said Jordan jokingly

"True, but you're still my friend. It wounds me that you think I'm so cold hearted as to just kill you while you're defenseless, I care about you ya know!"

"I was just thinking about what to do about Kronos, he seems like an easier target to pursue"

"I'm heading after him right now, we can do a cool ninja sneak attack! But after the purge you and I are gonna talk, actually, all four of us. We are a family, if something bothers you, you have to come to us about it"

"Thanks, I will. But for now let's go get some kills. Wow, I never thought I would say that in my entire life..." Jordan said laughing

"Well then, were in too!" Said Sonja from behind them.

"We are the champions of the gods, let's show him what we've got!" Said Tucker, salty as ever.

Maybe things would be just fine, this was her family for now. It had flaws and secrets, they were so disfunctional and somewhat crazy, but they had eachother. Going home was till a top priority for her, but maybe not the very first priority anymore.
