《The Spark of Balance: The Realm of Mianite (Book 1)》Ch35- What to do...

Claire POV-

"What's wrong?" Asked the shadows

What was wrong!? He just asked her to kill the gods as if it was no big deal, how on earth could she fake that.

"But...won't they just come back to life. The world communicator has a barrier that permits us to come back to life remember?" Jordan said logically.

Dianite was right...this was his intention all along. But how could a father be so cold as to want to kill his own sons? What could they have done?

Nevertheless she had come this far, breaking character now would just be a waste. Besides, she found that as of late, pretending wasn't hard. Ianite may have killed his people, there was evidence for that. Dianite was dispicable and Miante was very cryptic at times, may have even branded her. It wants to all that hard to pretend to have hatred towards them, speacially Dinate.

Her friends had looked for her all over the island, or so she was told. They had even looked in the cave but were not successful in finding the secret entrance. She though it was a sweet gesture that they were trying to find her after what she had done, until she saw them...

Though a small whole she could see her friends on the other side, that brought a smile and tears to her face. Them on the other hand...they had angry looks on their faces, they were out for blood.

Could she blame them? No.

Did she wish they had a bit more faith in her? Hell yeah.

Spending so much time with the shadows for the past few weeks in here was just messing up her head. All the doubts and fear were keeping Jordan up at night on more than one occasion. She knew it was fair for her friends to kill her, that didn't mean it didn't hurt.

The shadows handed her a mug with tea and began speaking again. It seemed he too was lost in thought for a bit.

"Leave that to me. Outside the island, there is no barrier. Thats is where you will take the gods, using this bow you will kill them and free Miante forever." He said enthusiastically

"I'm just a 17 year old human my lord, I don't think I have the skills to rid the world of two very powerful gods. Besides what...what about Ianite?" She asked

"My dear, you are 21 years of age!"

"No...I'm 17. Unless...don't tell me it's been 5 years back home! That can't be!"

"It hasn't been, that's not how the void works. For someone who traveled through it you know very little. You were in the void for 5 years and you did in fact age, but the time of the void much faster than that of the worlds outside of it. I believe the conversion would be 5 seconds in your world and this one equals 5 years of the void. Don't worry my child, it hasn't been that long since you've been gone"

"Oh...I'm glad. Though being 21 seems odd, I guess I'm not as young as I though I was."

"Guess not. As for the Ianite problem, worry not. He will join us as well."

"Dianite has him locked up! I don't think there is any way Dinate would bring him"

"He will if you are my bait. You underestimate the feelings of Dinate, if you are my 'prisoner' he will follow my wishes"

"You want me to pretend to be your prisoner?"

"Yes. I will give you the bow and you can hide it under this cape of yours"

"What cape?"

"This red cape. I procured it when I retrieved your items. It was in this box with a note I believe. Here."

She had never seen that box before, when she opened it she did in fact find a note along with a dead lily.

At least she knew whom it was from. But why?

She picked up the letter and began reading, hopefully there wasn't an inappropriate comment or small joke written in there, the shadows had clearly read it already

Dear Sparklypants,

You mentioned it was your birthday tomorrow according to your calculations of the time that has passed. I wasn't sure what to get you so I bribed the priest to let me go to a small village nearby and have a seamstress make you this. It's not much, but the color red suites you. I hope that you like this cape, it will make you look like an epic warrior for sure mate! Anyhow, happy early birthday and thank you for all that you have done for me and that rest of us here in the island. Also, I may have ripped it a little to make it look more epic, you're welcome.

Tom

He got her a birthday gift.... he must have left it on her room before she ran off to destroy the scales.

"Oh...never mind this is mine. Thank you for getting it. So.. what was the rest of you plan?" She said as she put the cape around her neck and fastened the clip in the middle.

The cape was a beautiful tone of red, it was incredibly soft and it felt natural to wear it. She couldn't believe Tom had remembered her birthday, it almost made her cry, but she had to keep it together and figure out what to do about all this.

Also, she had always wanted to wear a cape. She would have to get him something in return if he ever forgave her.

"Once we do our meaningless exchange you will charge at them and shoot them. Ianite will be defenseless, he can be shot last. Mianite must be the first to go, then Dinate. They will think that you are just a victim, that you are scared and fragile. That's what makes this plan so perfect. With this, they won't be able to hurt or lie to anyone ever again."

"What makes you think their followers or the priest won't come to save them?"

"That are just brain washed peasants, I can take care of them."

"...whatever you say my lord. Your wish is my command"she said with a bow.

"Very well, we shall began prepareations at once. That cape suites you my champion, it's a shame it was a gift from a monster like Tom"

She almost charged at him for insulting her friends, they had done nothing wrong after all.

"Right... he is horrible. At least it will serve our cause."she lied

"Indeed. I will go set up some magic. In the meantime get ready, we leave at dawn."

"Today! I think we need more time to carefully plan this through my lord!"

"No. this must be done at once, we can't let more people suffer. I'll be on my way."

With that, the shadows entered a room at the end of the corridor and Jordan could hear the sound of the lock being jammed into place. With that followed silence. Jordan collapsed to the floor and tried to make sensne of all that had just happened.

She had to kill the gods... there was no way she could. She was working for them, but what if she could make this would better by killing them? Killing them and the shadows, that way everyone would be free to do as they pleased.

There would be no more pain or fearing the god's punishments. After all, the gods initiated a lot of the conflicts she had seen in this world. Tom leaving Dinate was what started the war, Josh killed in the name of his god, all of that grew bigger because they weren't there to stop it. Not to forget this whole mess she was in right now was sorrounded with gods. But...

Ianite

Was he truly evil that he was a danger to a whole town? His town.

She had grown to truly worship him, he was so kind and wise, not to mention, he believed in her. The only thing was, how come he never mentioned he could take her home or visited in her dreams as of late? It was probably because he was hurt..she just couldn't lose her faith in him. Not until she heard it from him.

When she had met him, she didn't feel scared or in need to be cautious like she did with the shadows. There was goodness in him, she could feel it. The time they spent was like spring time with a friend, time flew by fast without them realizing it. Also, if he had a whole town full of followers, he must have been a great god.

What about her friends?

Would they even except her back after all she had done? If she killed the god's, she would have no one, they would hate her. At least the shadows seemed like he cared, and he could take her home. Maybe she would keep him alive long enough to help.

All of those awful thoughts left her astounded for a few minutes until Jordan gathered herself and began looking through her weapons. It would be wise after all to take some extras.

After, she made her way to her room to change for a more suitable battle outfit, there was no way she would fight in this awful dress the shadows had given her.

She gathered her red top and black pants Sonja had given her, afterwards deciding to instead wear a black shirt she got recently. Then she put on her black heals she had died purple a few days back, just to add some color to her dull outfit.

Jordan took a look at the red cape she had sheet aside and decided to put it back on. She also let her short hair loose and took a look at herself in the mirror. She sure had changed in these past few months, there was no way she could wear this back home.

On the other side of her bedroom was her Ianite armor and jewelry the gods had given her. She had put them in a chest a while back, convincing 'her lord' she would dispose of them some other time. He didn't care as long as she didn't wear them.

If this was all going down today, she might as well wear the jewelry. Losing these things was something she could bare doing, even if the jewelry was a branding statement, it still had good memories. If the shadows asked she would make the excuse that it would help the god's think she was on their side after all.

The Ianite armor would just have to be hidden in her magic bag. There was no way the Shadows would let her wear it. The jewelry she could at least hide. Somehow she felt the need to carry it with her, there was no way she would leave it behind.

For armor, she decided to put on some enchanted armor that the shadows had given her, it was powerful, but she wasn't very fond of it.

After a few hours of nervous pacing it came time to carry out the plan. The shadows teleported her to a small island in the middle of the ocean. She could see the Miante island in the distance. As she looked at it she bagan running through her options again. Whatever she decided to do from now on would affect everyone off that island, and this world.

Did she even have the right to play 'god' and decide what to do with the gods?

"Lets get started" said the shadows

On the more positive side, she might get to see Ianite again. After all this time...
