《Mianite- The Alternate Heroes' Journey》Spark: The Secrets of an Immortal Being

We were slowly adjusting to the ways of the Realm of Mianite. It was much more sad and lonely than the land I grew up in, but I guess everything has it's pros and cons. Mot and Alyssa eventually decided to move out of the creepy Dianite house and into an enormous green castle that had belonged to a man named Nadeshot. According to the priest, he was best friends with Tom, but disappeared long ago and never returned.
I, on the other hand, was spending more and more time with Ianite. She preferred to stay in the End, but I convinced her to take walks with me in the overworld from time to time. She began to open up more and more as time went on, and I discovered that immortal beings, do, in fact, have secrets. Many, many secrets.
"I was the youngest sister, and I always hated myself for being the weakest one," she confided in me. "I was always impatient to grow up so that I could, hopefully, match my siblings in power. That day never came, and I wasted my entire youth hating who I was." She sighed and looked at me. "What memories do you have?"
"I don't remember many," I confessed. "I'm so old, and I don't remember much from my early years. My clearest memories all involve the other Ianite in some way."
She frowned at me. "I do not mean to offend you, but... do you miss being younger? Being stronger?"
I shrugged. "I've gotten used to it, but yes, I do. Being able to fight was fun."
A small smile appeared on her face. "You know... I do have the ability to decrease someone's age. Would you like me to show you?"
Suddenly, I couldn't think of anything I wanted more than to become young again. "Sure!" I felt a tingling throughout my body, and then, all of a sudden, I blacked out.

"Wake up! Wake up, please! That wasn't supposed to happen!" I opened my eyes to see Ianite shaking me. When she saw that I was awake, she sat up and let out a sigh of relief.
"This feels so... weird!" I looked down at my hands, which were no longer wrinkly. I felt powerful, and like I could run a thousand miles.
"Come over to the water," she said, gesturing to the ocean. "You'll be able to see your entire body." I followed her down to the glittering sea, and saw that my hair was black again, and my muscles were back. I had forgotten how much I loved being like this.
"I'm younger than my own children now," I laughed, admiring my new reflection for a few minutes more. She grinned as she waited for me to finish, and I found myself, for a moment, falling in love.
As we continued walking, she asked me a lot of questions about my family. I told her all about Martha and Helgrind, and my beautiful grandchildren Andor and Alva. She told me stories of CaptainSparklez, since that is what intrigued me the most. He apparently cared a lot for her, but not in the way that I had cared for the Ianite I knew.
"How did you and Ianite fall in love?" she asked me, a question that seemed to come out of the blue.
"Well... umm... I guess I worshipped her for a long time. Eventually, I began realizing what an amazing person she was, and, well, I realized that I was in love. She was often too busy to speak to me, so I decided I'd have to do something great to get her attention. I built the city of Dagrun for her, and created the government for it based on her beliefs. She was beyond impressed, and started talking to me more and more. I'm not sure when it really, you know, became official, but we started dating one day. We got married soon after, and had two children together. I'd say that it kind of had a fairytale ending, since we lived 'happily ever after'." We walked in silence, which was incredibly awkward for me.

"I... I see," she said finally. "I had a bit of a crush on Sparklez myself, but he preferred Capsize. I don't blame him, of course. She was probably a much better fit for him." She looked very upset, but I wasn't entirely sure how to cheer her up.
"I'm sorry... my lady. Is there anything I can do to help you?" She looked at me with what seemed to be longing in her eyes.
"No, my dear. I'm fine, I promise." She stared at the ground for a moment, then jerked her head up as if she had suddenly remembered something. "Have you ever heard of a purge?"
A few hours later, I met Mot, Jeriah, the priest, and Champwan at the quartz house. Ianite decided she was going to host the important fighting event, but that Alyssa was too inexperienced to attend. Nobody had a problem with that part.
"You will all start at your own houses," Ianite instructed. "Wooden swords, leather armor, and unenchanted bows only! Do not worry, you will respawn." As we headed off to our houses, Ianite stopped me. "Good luck, Spark. I'll be betting on you! Sparklez won almost every purge when he was here." I nodded to thank her, and then headed off.
I had forgotten how much fun it was to fight. Mot and Jeriah were so shocked at my sudden PVP capabilities that I killed them easily. The priest could hardly lift a sword, much less slay me. The only problem was Champwan. In the first few minutes, the ninja had five kills, and not a single death. I was trying to avoid him, but alas, my luck didn't last long.
"I see ya!" he yelled, shooting arrow after arrow at me. Although he had very good aim, I managed to dodge all of them, and run closer and closer to him. I let out a battle cry, with my sword extended, and started slashing at him.
"You're going down!" I yelled as we fought. Perhaps I got a bit too excited, though, because he was, in fact, excellent at fighting. I felt myself growing weaker and weaker, and when I had just half a heart left, I was desperately swinging my blade. Our swords hit each other at the same, and we both died.
I was laughing as I respawned. It was a tie!
"GG," he typed in chat. "That was the first death I've ever had in a purge."

The Writer
Frustrated with his limits, the young writer Seven accepts an offer from a supernatural entity, traveling to its world whilst given the chance to live past his regrets. Humans, though, are creatures that don't easily change, and his warped views of reality turn him into an unpredictable ally or foe in the game of death that is to follow. For the sake of translating his new experiences into a written masterpiece, he will spare nothing, not even his own life - so long as the work is complete. *** Romance tag was previously there, but it starts quite late in the story and I've yet to reach that part. I know how it will happen (more precisely, how I want it to happen), but currently, there are just subtle nuances that can only be left to the reader's very expansive imagination, and I wouldn't call that romance but a

Sherds
Linus falls into another world, arriving on an archipelago. This is a story about exploration, and archaeology is a major theme! Studying history and pre-history is a favorite of mine, so this is a project using my research to build a world. One of the magic systems has rpg inspired elements, but this isn't a litrpg at its core. I'm an art student and haven't written much, but I like telling stories. This is largely just for fun, my own spin on the RR other world formula. (Placeholder cover is from the Palazzo Massimo in Rome)
