If you want to know why

There's love that cannot lie

Love is strong

It only cares of joyful giving

If we try we shall see

In this bliss we cannot feel

Fear of dread

We stop existing and start living~ "Heal the world" by Michael Jackson

"Samuel and Cassandra? What are they like?" I asked curiously.

"I've only met Samuel twice; once when he took over his position from his dad, and once at a meeting hosted by Mother Luna that takes place every forty years. He's very good at his job and one of the best fighters I've ever seen; a very good and powerful ally to have," Kavos explained before taking a huge bite of his burger.

"Ally? Why do you need him as an ally?" I asked in confusion.

"That story's for another time, but his wife is only three years older than you, and also pregnant with the heir to the Lupus Realm. I'm interested to know what she's like. Apparently she's a very good Luna who's known for her nice and compassionate nature."

"She sounds lovely," I sighed, feeling relieved.

I didn't want another 'Crystal situation' where someone would end up dead due to their behaviour. And although I knew what she had said was wrong and disrespectful, taking someone's life could never be justified.

It had been instilled in me from a young age that violence of any sort was something that was frowned upon and inexcusable, so the fact that someone had died because of me made me feel guilty.

Should she have been punished? Unarguably, she should have been.

But death? Never.

However, I understood why he had done it. It was his basics instincts to protect what was 'his', much like in the animal kingdom. You look after what's yours and protect them by any means necessary, and for that I couldn't be upset with him.

He was doing what was embedded in every type of species' DNA, and our bond was one of the strongest since I wasn't just his soulmate, I was actually created with the purpose of being with him and I was the only one who could apparently tame him.

The next morning , I was bouncing around in excitement at the thought of greeting the King and Queen of the Lupus Realm, and having a brand new dress to wear as I loved dressing up.

Apart from my birthday I never had the chance to dress up in a beautiful gown and stunning heels, and that was one of the reasons I loved my birthday - I would go from normal to looking fantastic in a beautiful dress that had taken Ms. Reid a year to make.

Margaret had once left a magazine at the house by accident, and I had browsed through the wedding section and the dresses had made my heart stop. They were so elegant and sophisticated and it made me excited for my own wedding.

Not that I expected Kavos to marry me, but if he did then the idea of wedding planning made me giddy with enjoyment.

He would look so handsome in a fitted suit and with with his lush, mother-lode gold hair that shaped his face like a crown of golden thread, his skin that had an olive tone that seemed to have a unnatural perfect glow, his basalt jaw, Roman nose, and Spartan shoulders that spoke of great strength- he was bound to steal the show. He outshined me in every aspect, especially in the beauty department, and his dark, daring and dominant ensnaring purple eyes were just the icing on the cake.

He was perfect and I still couldn't believe that I was created for him; it was baffling. I knew I wasn't ugly or had any abnormal features, but I wasn't on his level on good-lookingness.

I had relatively spot-free smooth chocolate skin, large hazel eyes that were framed with curled lashes and naturally pouty lips, and a wide childlike chubbiness to my face. I also had a small frame of five-foot-three which meant that I didn't have the biggest breasts or bum, and I had slight stretch marks scattered across my bum.

I felt as if I had the body of a fourteen year old just going through puberty which wasn't good for your ego, especially when you're mated to someone as beautiful as Kavos.

Speaking of the devil, he walked into my bedroom dressed in a navy form-fitting jumper and black jeans, and I couldn't help but scramble up in excitement.

"Can we go now? Can I pick out my dress?" I asked in excitement, bouncing around.

"Someone's eager, but yes the dress lady has come, shall we go?" he replied taking my hand.

"Yes!" I exclaimed.

We walked downstairs into the room that Kavos called 'The Great Hall', it was a stunning room with high ceilings and stained glass windows, and every wall was covered in a huge mirror. It reminded me of an antique cathedral, and it looked like a wonderful place to paint and draw. I would have to ask Kavos if he would let me get some painting essentials.

"Hello, I'm Amy, and it's a pleasure to meet you Blue. I feel so honoured to be able to dress you today. Here on these racks I have a collection of different dresses. I have every colour, design, pattern and length, so please feel free to have a browse," explained Amy, after giving both Kavos and I a bow.

Kavos walked me over to the racks, saying, "I don't want you in anything above the knee or anything that exposes too much skin. I'd hate to have to rip off someone's head because of my overwhelming jealousy."

"Jealous of what?" I frowned, fingering a pretty red dress.

"The thought of another man looking at your beautiful skin, skin that was made for me," he murmured, kissing me on the side of my jaw.

My breath hitched and I felt my heart stop at the onslaught of emotions that flooded my system. My mouth went dry and a small gasp left my throat.

He gave me a quick wink before turning towards the racks and having a browse, and for the next forty-five minutes we looked at hundreds of different styles of dresses before deciding on a sophisticated looking black laced dress.

"Try it on," he suggested.

I quickly discarded my denim knee-length button-down baggy dress and leggings, and slipped on the dress before walking out to where Kavos stood talking to Amy.

The dress looked even better on than I expected; it was figure-hugging in a classy way and brought out my hidden curves with a lace half sleeve that gave it a edgy look. It made my legs looked shapely and toned, instead of the usual flimsy skinny look.

"How do I look?" I asked nervously chewing on my lip. The dress wasn't exactly knee length but I thought it still looked pretty upmarket.

His purple eyes flashed dangerously as they roamed over my body and I gave an involuntary shudder.

"You look exquisite my little lamb. Good enough to eat. Although it's shorter than I would like so you'll have to wear flat shoes so it won't look too over the top."

"So I can wear it?"

"Anything to make you happy," He purred before turning towards Amy and asking the price.

"This dress is crafted by the Goddess of Design herself, and is one of a ki- "

"Price?"

"Three-thousand."

"Done. Aztec is in my office, he will write you a cheque."

And with that he dismissed her and turned towards me.

Gulping, I took a step back and he stalked towards me with his violet eyes gleaming in a predatory way that made butterflies erupt in my stomach.

"," he whispered, placing a gentle ghost of a kiss on my neck.

"Oh!" I gasped, clutching onto his neck, burying my fingers into his golden locks.

"So, so beautiful," he chanted as he continued to leave little kisses across my neck and collarbone.

Every kiss left a trail of unrelenting fiery passion that burnt my skin and made me feel weak at the knees. It was almost to hot to handle and made me feel slightly light-headed.

He looked into my eyes, purple meeting hazel, and for the first time I really felt our bond. I felt the bond that bound our souls together, and it made me feel powerful as I felt his emotions of protectiveness and adoration crowd me and wrap me in a cocoon.

He leaned in and my heart thumped painfully in my chest. He was going to kiss me. Just as his lips were about to land on me we heard, "The guests have arrived."

I jumped back in surprise, while Kavos gave a smug looking Aztec a dirty look.

"What? Don't shoot the messenger," he chuckled.

"Tell them we're coming. Are you ready Blue?"

"Y- Yes, but w- what about my shoes?" I stuttered out awkwardly.

"There are some black ballet pumps over there."

***

We walked into the office to be greeted by a huge man who was about six-foot-four, with a prominent jaw that was clenched, soft brown hair that looked like he had just rolled out of bed, and piercing black eyes. And standing next to him was a girl who was shorter than me, about five-foot, with long and thick light brown hair and light brown eyes paired with a dimpled smile.

Her frame may have looked small, but the bump on her belly seemed to engulf her- it was huge. It looked like she was way past the nine month mark of pregnancy, and it looked far too heavy for someone of her size to carry.

"Your Highnesses," bowed Samuel and Cassandra as we entered the room.

"Please take a seat," instructed Kavos, pulling me over to his side of the desk and pulling me out a chair to sit on.

They men exchanged small pleasantries, and I couldn't help but notice that even Samuel was talking his gaze wouldn't leave Cassandra for longer than a few seconds, and his body was subconsciously leaned towards hers in her a protective manner.

It was cute and you could see that they belonged together, and it made me wonder if Kavos and I would get to that stage.

"Blue, why don't you take Cassandra around the house and get to know her, while Samuel and I begin to discuss business?" Kavos suggested, breaking me out of my thoughts.

"Sure," I nodded obediently, getting up and walking towards the door as Cassandra gave her mate a quick peck on the lips.

***

"Your house is stunning Your Highness, the most beautiful place I've ever seen," Cassandra complimented after a tour that consisted of me awkwardly pointing out things while she nodded and smiled politely.

"Please, call me Blue, it feels weird being called that. And thank you, although I've only been here for a week so this is pretty new to me too," I shrugged as we walked into the kitchen.

"Really? Have you known The Punisher for that long too?"

"Yeah."

"It's like you've known each other for so much longer, he can barely keep his eyes of you! You both look very much in love," she gushed.

"L- Love? Do you really think so?" I asked shyly, feeling hope blossom in my chest.

"I know so, you look at each other like I look at Samuel! So, what do you do for fun around here?"

"Well, I mostly read, bake or hang out with Aztec-"

"The hot one? The Soul Collector?"

"Erm, yeah... the hot one," I replied with a grimace, it was like calling a sibling hot. Gross and just wrong on every level.

"He looked and sounded pretty serious and scary, I can't imagine you hanging out with him! You seem so sweet and lovely, not that he doesn't, but I mean he is called The Soul Collector for a reason," Cassandra explained, absentmindedly rubbing her bulging stomach.

"He's a lot different with me, he makes me laugh and always winds Kav- The Punisher up. How long have you and Samuel been together?"

"Just over a year and a few months, things moved pretty fast for us but normal rate in the supernatural world I suppose. Wolves are pretty possessive and do not like to kept away from their mates. But my parents hate him, as he did kidnap me."

"Kidnap?" I gasped out, my eyes wide in shock.

I couldn't ever imagine Samuel doing something as crazy as that, and kidnapped implied that it was against her will. The idea that there was a point In her life when she didn't like him seemed unfathomable to me.

"Oh, you'll love this story..."

Two-and-a-half hours later, Cassandra had told me all about how her and Samuel had met, and all the ups and downs and dramas they had had. She told me about her sister and her best friends, who seemed as funny as Aztec, and for the second time (the first being Aztec) I felt as if had made a real friend.

Cassandra was lovely and sweet, she wasn't overly loud and over-confident which made it easier for me to speak to her, and she had a natural openness about her that made her come across as kind and trustworthy.

"How many days left until you have the baby?" I asked curiously as I made Cassandra some food after her belly let out a rumble.

"Babies actually, I'm pregnant with twins and I'm due in two-and-a-half months. My pregnancy will only last a few months and I think although I'll be sad for my bump to go away, I'm pretty excited to meet my son and daughter " she replied with a small smile.

"Wow, you're huge! I thought you'd be due, like, this week!" I exclaimed in surprise, handing her some grilled cheesy nachos smothered in sour cream and guacamole.

"Yum. These are great, way better than how Samuel makes them," moaned Cassandra, taking one and pouring extra guacamole on it.

"Thanks, I'll cook them again for you sometime if you visit again. I mean, I- If you want to. You don't have to," I trailed off feeling foolish and hoping I didn't come across as too forceful.

"I'd love to! That- "

Cassandra was cut off by a stern looking Samuel and a blank looking Kavos entering the room, but as soon as Samuel saw his mate his face split into a smile and he immediately went over to her.

"You ready to go?" he asked, nuzzling her hair.

"Yeah, what did you talk about anyways?"

"The war th- "

"I'd appreciate if you don't discuss this around my mate," came Kavos' cold voice that seemed to echo around the room and make all three of us flinch.

"Of course, my apologies," nodded Samuel as Aztec came in, ready to show them out.

"Blue, it was pleasure meeting you. You have to visit me, especially once the babies are born," Cassandra said giving me a hug.

"Oh, really? I'd love that. Can we visit Kavos? Please?" I practically begged.

"If you wish.".

"Yes!" grinned both Cassandra and I hugging one last time before she went.

"How was your day?" I asked after a moment of silence.

"Productive. Come, I can sense you are tired. I'll take you to your room so you can rest, and when you wake up I'll have a surprise waiting for you," he replied, taking my hand and leading me to my room.

I got changed in the bathroom and then he tucked me into bed, telling me bits and pieces of his meeting while his voice slowly lulled me to sleep.

But in my slow unconscious state I didn't register him saying "It pains me that I will have to send you away, my beautiful little lamb"
