"Ah, ah. I'm so lazy today. I just want to sleep." I groaned as I lie down on my soft bed. Its almost 6:00. We'll rendezvous at 8:00. Its good time to sleep, right? Let's drift off now... Ouch!
"There is no way you are sleeping! Come on, look alive!" Enki had bit my leg, using his teeth.
"H-Hey! Don't you inject venom when you do that?" I said. Enki just looked at me dumb founded.
"Oh, hahaha...." He gave a dry laugh. The next thing I know, I got dizzy. Is this the venom? Oh god I feel like I'm gonna hurl.
"So is this how I'm gonna die? Being killed by a talking snake for not looking alive? Now I can't! Because in gonna die." I dropped from my bed, making a lot of noise. I hope aunt van help me. She is a doctor. Before I realized it, she had come up stairs.
"Hey what's go- Ryu! Are you okay?" She then checked my face. It was pale she said.
"You're cold, what happened?" As she looked around, she saw a white snake. She screamed, louder than any rock music I played.
"Could you not? Anyway, I got bitten by my pet snake, could you get an antidote?" I asked my aunt for some antidote. If I remember, there was a stash of them.
"Yeah sure, just stay here. Don't die." She told me. Hah, don't die. I've done drugs now this? Isn't my life going sideways? Well whatever. I then moved my body, facing the ceiling.
"Did you just call me your pet?" Enki asked.
"Huh? Well I can't say 'Yeah, he's my friend. A talking snake.' If I did, my aunt would definitely call my mom and send me to an mental institution." I explained. The odds was there before.
"I-I see... You have it rough."
"Eh, it's better this way."
10 Minutes Later...
"There you go, venom-free." My aunt said.
"Yeah, I don't like the sound of that."
"Well, yeah. Anyway, why is there a snake with you?" She says as she looks towards Enki, curious.
"Oh him? I found him on the street in Yokohama's Chinatown. It was juts left there and I felt bad for it,so I brought it home as a pet." I made up a lie. Enki looked a bit displeased about the lie though.
"I see. Well normal high school kids have cats or dogs as pets, snakes not so much but if its important to you I don't mind." She stood up and headed out of my room.
"Thanks." I said.
"Also, have you have made any friends yet?" She asked a question before she was leaving.
"Huh? Well, actually I did." I gave my aunt a smile.
"That's good. Anyway, I'm heading to work, so if you wanna go out lock the door." Said Takemi who was heading to her room.
"Okay!" I said.
"Well that was a better. Sorry for biting you." Enki coiled around my hand. I brought my hand closer.
"Its alright, everybody make mistakes." Enki left my hand and coiled around my neck as usual.
"Yeah, sure. Hey am I your friend?" He asked.
"Hmm? Of course, didn't I say that?" I smiled. Enki coiled tighter. He probably wants to give me a hug. Well I don't mind it but choking my neck is never a hug in my book.
"Ah! Are you okay?" Enki loosened up.

"Y-Yeah, somehow." I said.
"Sorry."
"Its alright. You wanna go out? Let's eat something." I suggested.
"Yeah! I'm hungry! Please!" Enki was excited. I feel like his a little kid. Though his taller than Kaidou.... I don't feel lonely at home now. I have Enki and my aunt. I also have Kaidou and Rei. This is nice. Having friends.
...!?
I card appeared in my head again. So this is the social link Igor was talking about. Its... A bit creepy. A voice suddenly appearing in my head. It feels creepy. Well I better get ready. I heard the front door closing which means She's already out. I wore my casual with my jacket on. For some reason, its been bugging me. Why did Touka and Suzuki had their school uniforms on. A bit weird. I put the thought aside and headed down stairs with Enki, coiled around my neck. We headed out and I checked my phone. Its 7:15. Good enough time to eat. Where should I go?
"Hmm? I don't know the places here, so could you choose." Said Enki while I walk and try to think of the place to go.
"I guess, let's just go to Chinatown then." I sighed. It was the only place I knew plus there were a lot of restaurants there too. It seems like Enki didn't care where we went, at least there is food. I put my headphones on, a dark green colour. I set the volume to a suitable volume so I can also hear of anybody is talking to me. I put on Imagine.
A/N: This belongs to the original owner, I do not own it. Its really good, so go and support Johneawesome.
The music was good, more likely it fits the atmosphere of the place. Once we've reached Chinatown, I got a text from Suzuki.
Suzuki: Hey, change of plans. We'll rendezvous at Harbor View park at 9:00.
The message reads. Before hand, we hand exchanged numbers with each other. I didn't mind the change of place. That just means we can eat there instead. As I enter Yokohama's Chinatown, the pressure felt heavy. Why? Was it because I was starving? Was it because I was late? No. My wallet is dry. Its left with just a couple of 1000¥ bills.
"Well we'll make do with this." I sighed as I walk around the place. I want a job. The restaurants here are expensive and I don't want anything to heavy. Just want something light, that could keep me up for a few hours. Something like a.... Burger. As I stand in the middle of the walkway, I saw a place which caught my attention. It was orange, a fast food restaurant. A duck is its mascot. There was not that much people inside but it had a nice atmosphere. I looked at the sign, it was called the Wild Duck Burger. Enki coiled tighter around my neck, I could feel him drooling.
"Ahh~ that's it!" Enki said.
"Alright, but first stop drooling!" I said to Enki, wiping of the saliva at my neck. We went inside and ordered two burgers. We asked them to Take-away. We the left, with out heads held high.
"Mission complete." Enki said.
"And with spare change too." I checked my wallet. It was really cheap. Talk about a fast food restaurant. As we walk back, heading towards Harbor View park, I saw a woman being harassed by two big men in a dark alley. They were slobbering like dogs around her. It was disgusting to watch. She seemed like she was about my age, maybe a bit younger. I got closer.

"Hey, young girl, what are you doing in the middle of the night?" One of them touched her shoulder, making her shudder.
"Stop, please." She whimpered. I feel like I've heard this voice before. But from where...?
"Come on, let's play together. All three of us." The other man said, caressing her hair. I clenched my teeth. How can people ignore this? Is it because they don't want to help? You can hear it clearly.
"Please, I have to get home. I..." She tried to rub away but for stop by one of them holding her hand.
"Where are you going huh?" The man inched closer about to lick her.
"Hey!" I came out and shouted.
"Huh? Who are you?"
"Leave her alone!" I continued to shout at them. Both of them came out of the alley and faced me.
"Say that again brat, I couldn't hear you." He lend his ear to me. Enki was ready to bite it but I told him I should do it my way.
"I said Leave her alone." I said it again, glared at them this time. They laughed it off. I saw the woman in the alley. It was a girl. A long ponytail, bleached. Her short skirt was revealing some parts. Its not mistaken. Its Rei. I felt frustrated. Anger took control of me or I let it take control of me.
"You gonna say that again brat! Hahhahaahah HAH!... HAH." As he was laughing, I kicked him in the nut sack. He feel down on the floor, laid out like a pancake. Man, he's weak. The other guy stood there and then threw a punch to me.
"What the hell! That hurt!" The guy who was lying on the floor groaned in pain. While I was pushed back to the ground.
"You did that to my friend!? I'll kill you, you fucker!" He threw multiple pinches at me, each landing a hit.
"Run, Rei!" I was able to shout something to her, as her eyes widened with tears filling up her eyes. She stood still. She couldn't move.
"I said run! Goddamit! Argh!" I was able to block all of the punches but got distracted and was hit till my head hit the ground. I was dizzy for a bit.
"Get back!" Enki said, protecting me. Enki spring against one of them, scaring him.
"Huh, what a freak!" He took Enki by the head and was about to crush him when a boy came up and punch him in the face. He was a wearing a blue hoodie. He looked at Rei.
"Come on Rei, let's get out of her!" He said. It was Kaidou. Rei then ran towards us and stood behind Kaidou.
"Hey you okay?" Kaidou asked me, as I stood up.
"Yeah, how's Enki?" I said.
"I'm good." The snake was coiling around my neck still.
"You bastards! We'll kill you!" Both of them stood up. This was bad. I was still in rehabilitation and I can't catch my breath. Kaidou doesn't know have experience in fighting against humans. We were stuck with one option. Its enough to escape. We had to run.
"Let's go! Run!" I said as I took Rei's hand and ran towards the exit. Kaidou was catching up with us. The thugs was not able to catch up with our speed and was left behind, right before Kaidou let a bicycle hit one of them.
"Phew, that was close!" Kaidou said. We decide to head to Rei's apartment. I held Rei's hand tightly, not letting go.
"We're here." Kaidou said. I was wheezing still. Crap, my lungs. Being a smoker was one thing but drugs, man I need time.
"Thank... You." Rei said. She was still wearing her high school clothes. We looked at her, she was sweating and her clothes was transparent. Her skirt was revealing her underwear and her bra. We blushed and looked away. She didn't notice it but when she looked down, she became really red and covered herself up.
"I-I was running like this for the entire time?" She said.
"W-Well the good side is that, n-none knows about you. Just some girl from Seikawa High." Kaidou accidentally made it worse. Rei was about to cry at that point.
"What were you doing there in your clothes like that?" I asked. Rei ignored the question. She didn't want to talk about it.
"Well, if you don't want to talk about it then its alright. Maybe another time, but could please be careful?" Kaidou said.
"Yeah, sorry." Rei said. Kaidou looked at the time.
"Ryu its 8:50. We're going to be late." Kaidou was panicking.
"Yeah, just wait." I said, as I was about to walk away, Rei tugged my jacket.
"Thank... You. For saving me. Both of you." Rei said, shyly.
"Well, if anything happens again, we'll come running to help you." I assured her.
"Yeah, we have your back." Kaidou said.
"He he, thanks." Rei gave a bright smile. It reminded me of that tines when I was still happy with my family. Well those are old days.... !?
As we walk away, I looked at the time. It was 10:30. We were late. I looked at Kaidou, who had abandoned all hope.
"We... Should run." Enki said. We ran as our lives depended on it. It was our first rendezvous too. Even with my rehabilitation, this is tough.
"Come on!!!" Kaidou shouted.
---------------------------------------------------------
"Hah... Hah.. Hah!" Kaidou was panting while I was lying on the floor. We've made it to Harbour View Park. We saw Touka and Suzuki, waiting for us.
"You're late!" Touka said.
"We're sorry!" Kaidou bowed. I was out of energy since I haven't eaten yet. I was beaten up too so I lied down on a bench nearby.
"What the hell happened to you two?" Touka asked. We explained everything to her and Suzuki while me and Enki was eating our burgers.
It was delicious, though it was cold.
"So that's what happened... That's brave of you two." Touka calmed down after that.
"Yeah sorry we cane late." Kaidou apologized.
"Yeah, it was his fault. I was just trying to get a burger!" Enki put the fault on Kaidou.
"Hey!" Kaidou and Enki glared at each other.
"Though, how are you now? Ready for more?" Suzuki asked me. I simply nodded.
"Alright then, its almost time." Out of nowhere, Kikuno was walking towards us.
"Eh, Miss Saikawa? I though you're not coming?" Kaidou asked.
"Well the documents for your recruitment was done after than I thought." She smiled.
"That means...."
"You're official member of the S.S.E.C." Touka said.
"Yahoo!!!" Kaidou was fist bumping the air.
"Well then, as the first thing to do, for our new recruits." Touka said.
"Let's go to the Lost Eden!"

8 173The Choice is Not Yours
Author's Note: (As of November 20, 2021) I rewrote all the chapters perhaps more than a year ago, but haven't announced that I did so. Because that kind of announcement would include something along the lines of, "I'm working on the story so expect new chapters!" But the truth is, I lack motivation to do anything. And I would hate myself if I broke a promise. I'm extremely sorry if you have been patiently waiting for uploads. These days, I've been studying, not well, but studying somewhat. I will definitely bring more to show, with regular uploads. If not this story then there's another story I've been writing that's really exciting to me. It's not exactly similar to this story since it has a male lead and he is a baneful asshole with even less morals. I hope you'll like it when it comes to existence. And I'll leave my announcement off with the aforementioned promise. Meet Amber, a tomboyish, unstable, and cheeky lass who likes to keep to herself. According to her, she'll live the rest of her life on auto-pilot mode, awhile holding onto the few things that make her remotely happy. However, she forgot that people never really leave you alone, be it humans or even the Gods. And exactly that happens, ending her monotonous life on such the Gods' whim. But at what cost to her? Will she be able to hold onto the things she holds dear? Or will she fail miserably and lose herself in the process? That's what the Gods want to know. Disclaimer: I do not own the cover photo.Warning: If you are easily triggered, I am not writing this novel for you.
8 195The Creator
My name is Lixon Rayver, and I am a published young author.I came to a point where I struggled to proceed to the second volume of my novel [The Legends of Udeville]. One night, I made an unintentional wish: "Rather than just imagining things, I think it would be better if I just live with my created characters and places so it would be easy for me to think of how my story would develop." Well...I think you can guess what happened next.----- God? I'm not sure. I don't think that I am either. But one thing that I can tell you, in this world, I have absolute authority. -Lixon Rayver
8 186The Immortal Epic
After all that happened... I do think I would thank dr Errhart if I were back to the day this all started, knowing all that happened after. Of course, if I were back on the day this all started with the implied knowledge, I would take and play with his soul in retribution. Oh, how have I grown since then. I'm almost nostalgic. Almost. To tell you the truth, I don't really remember the first days. Yes, I remember me working at the facility, with all the downs and downs but after the experiment, those first days afterwards, I can't bring for the life of me those moments in the cold dark broken room to mind. I never did discover what happened during the experiment. What could occur to burn the whole facility to a crisp and shut down both the main and emergency power supply? Dr Errhart always seemed to fail in impossible ways. When I got out of that underground tomb, I discovered what the experiment did to the world. Beast and monsters feed on the unprotected if left to fester, powerful men from the remnants of my old world have risen up to take their own and might takes up new forms. Oh, and here you must be perplexed. I totally forgot to tell. While the experiment doomed many in the facility and the world above, which wouldn't have happened had they not ignored my notes on the project, I feel like it was all worth it. For at the cost of the precious but secret arcanium, we got our greatest tool yet. Magic.
8 101Mordheim: Servants of The Damned (A Warhammer Fantasy Fiction)
“The Great Library,” Stated the stranger with a pause. “You know of it?”“Of course I do. In the Merchant’s Quarter?”“Yes, in the Merchant’s Quarter. I have gathered that there is an… artefact of importance within its walls.” Slowly, the figure produced a rusted key from the furls of his robes and held it in a black-gloved hand. “This opens the door to its chambers. It is the grimoire of Gunnar von Krugenheim, and I believe that it would serve better in the world than locked away in a dusty room.” Behind the cursed walls of Mordheim, warbands and gangs of all stripes are embattled in constant wars for resources and power. The cursed city attracts throngs in the thousands, searching for treasures, artefacts, power, and sometimes all three. The Cult of the Hidden Brethren is no exception, and when an opportunity to extend their reach is discovered, the cultists are eager to take the opportunity. However, not all is set in stone, and soon the cultists discover that the lure of power alone may not be enough to give them the drive required to see their quest done... --- Mordheim: Servants of the Damned is a fanfiction set in the world of Warhammer Fantasy, which is not owned by me but by the company Games Workshop. I of course, lay claim to nothing in this story but the characters I have created, and the core events of the story itself. This is my first true foray into fantasy writing, let alone Warhammer Fantasy, therefore any feedback is welcome. (It should be noted as well, the cover art is merely an artwork I found online and is not mine, therefore I do not lay claim to that either.)
