I lay in the hospital bed with Kieran by my side, we had talked and laughed as we got to know each other. His offer was still fresh in my mind and I knew I couldn't hide from it or avoid it forever. I would have to give him an answer soon. I began to feel tired and fell asleep. I'm not sure when Kieran noticed I had fallen asleep or when he had left.

I'm back there again, in the darkness. I looked all around me scared. Suddenly there was a male voice laughing. It wasn't a humorous laugh or a happy laugh, it was a more sinister laugh. I continued to look around until I saw him standing there. Jamie.

"Aww look at you, poor little Felicity" He said, his voice still sinister no sign or hint or humour.

"Jamie what are you doing here ?" I ask unsure

"Rejecting you as my mate" He said like it was obvious

I looked at him unsure without saying anything.

"I mean how could I possibly want anyone like you ? Look at yourself Felicity, your not capable of being a Luna" He said like he was deliberately adding salt to my injury

I gasped feeling unable to breathe, I felt the sharpest pain in my heart that I have ever felt. I reached out for something to grab onto to help steady me but there was nothing there.

"Jamie....please help me" I begged.

He kept his same cold sharp gaze before he reached out and grabbed me, holding me up.

"Poor little rejected Felicity" he taunted before he threw me down and I fell down a hill.

I screamed out in shock and feeling scared. I woke up screaming and in a cold sweat.

"Felicity, hey shhh it's okay your safe" Kieran said as he bent down and wrapped his arms around me.

I tried to speak but no words came out and all I could do was cry into Kieran's chest. Kieran continued to comfort me and even began to rub soothing circles on my back to help calm me down.

"I'm just going to ask Dr Wilson to come and check you over" Kieran said but before he could move or leave I grabbed his arm.

"Please don't leave me" I begged sounding weak.

"It's not gonna be for long, a few minutes tops" Kieran tried to bargain

I didn't try to argue with him, I just let him go and nodded, looking down.

Dr Wilson and Kieran both walked back into the room a few minutes later.

"Alpha Kieran, you know you can't be in here whilst I check Felicity over" Dr Wilson said to Kieran

"No, it's okay he can stay I don't mind" I said before Kieran could argue his case to Dr Wilson

They both turned and looked at me in both confusion and surprise

"If your sure" Dr Wilson said as he walked around the room.

I nodded again as confirmation that I was sure and okay for Kieran to stay in the room.

"What happened ?" Dr Wilson asked me

I told him about the nightmare I had just had moments ago and how I woke up screaming and in a cold sweat.

"Being rejected in such a cruel way which you were, can sometimes have side effects like this on you" Dr Wilson informed me.

Dr Wilson finished checking me over, taking my temperature and taking some notes. I was able to get a wash to freshen up and also put some fresh pyjamas on. Once I was back in bed, the drip and a few other drips were attached back to my arm. Dr Wilson left the room once he was finished fixing me back to everything and checking me over.

I stayed quiet, looking down at the bed and sheets.

"What's the matter ?" Kieran asked as he sat down next to me.

"I'm not fit enough to be a Luna" I answered in a low voice

"Look Felicity, you had a bad rejection and you're still recovering" Kieran said trying his best to defend me

"I'm weak Kieran, what will your people think of me when they find out about this ?" I asked feeling my voice beginning to crack

Kieran moved from the chair and slid into the bed next to me, he wrapped me in his arms as he held me close to him.

"They will think you are an amazing person who had a rough time, your not the first mate to be rejected and you won't be the last, you're also not the first person to have a bad side effect after a cruel rejection and you won't be the last there either" Kieran said in a serious tone but not too serious, just enough for me to understand what he was trying to say.

I nodded in response not sure of what I could possibly say to that. Kieran removed his arms from around me and began to move to get up.

"No, please don't go or leave me here alone" I said as I held onto his arm.

"You won't be alone if I'm sitting on the chair next to you looking after you" he tried to bargain

"Please can't you sit back on the bed with me, I'd feel a lot safer" I asked without wanting to sound desperate.

"Okay budge up" Kieran said as he got back on the bed and lay next to me. I smiled and cuddled into his side.

I have to admit he was very strong and I did kind of feel protected in his arms. I fell asleep in no time. This time I managed to sleep peacefully without any nightmares. Kieran's scent was also very comforting to me.

When I woke up, Kieran was gone but his hoodie was placed over me to keep me warm. I sat up in the bed but kept Kieran's hoodie close to me.

"Good morning sleepy head" Kieran said with a smile as he stood in the doorway.

"Morning" I replied with a smile

I glanced at the clock on the wall which read 09:30. I was usually up between 08:30 and 09:00 am. I had slept a little longer today.

"Don't worry about the time, you had a rough time during the night, you needed the extra rest" Kieran said as he walked over to the bed.

Kieran sat a few plates down on the table. I looked at them then up at Kieran confused.

"Breakfast. You need to eat to get your strength up" Kieran answered as he moved the table towards me.

There was toast, cereal, pancakes and a few other things as a mini selection.

"I can't eat all of this" I gasped

"I don't expect you to eat it all, only what you feel you can eat. You haven't eaten properly yet plus I wasn't sure what food you like hence the selection I brought you" Kieran explained

I eyed the pancakes and began to eat one of them. I was always cautious of trying food in new places, maybe that was just me I don't know. The pancake I tried was amazing.

"Good choice, Gayle, our cook is amazing at making and cooking pretty much everything, her homemade pancakes are a real hit with the other pack members" Kieran laughed

"They are the best ones I have ever tried yet !" I exclaimed as I finished what I had in my mouth before taking a drink of the fruit juice. Luckily for me it was apple juice.

"So I have spoken with Dr Wilson this morning" Kieran said as he sat down.

I looked at him in surprise wondering where this was going. Was this about my nightmare ? Was this gonna be good or bad ?

"He agrees with me that it would do you good to get out of this room for a little bit, get some fresh air and I can show you around or we can go for a walk" Kieran finished

"Really ?" I asked my voice full of hope and surprise. I know I was supposed to be resting but I really wanted out this room even just for a little while.

"Yes he is coming to check you over, I will have someone, a female pack member collect you some clothes to put on, I am going to go get ready but I will be back for you" Kieran smiled before he got up and left.

I had finished my breakfast and taken what medication Dr Wilson had for me. He done some checks, my temperature, heart rate the usual checks. A female pack member, Rebecca, had come down to the infirmary. She was about 5 foot 1, she wasn't overweight but she wasn't too skinny either, she had long wavy brown hair, emerald green eyes. I wasn't sure if she was nice or annoyed with me. She also looked very young too maybe about 17 or 19 max.

"Hi, I'm Rebecca, Alpha Kieran sent me down to get your clothes size so I can sort out some clothes for you" She smiled

"Hi, I'm Felicity but you probably already knew that, I'm a size 12 - 14" I answered her

"Hey, don't worry, I don't hate you, your safe here with Alpha Kieran and in his pack" Rebecca smiled

"Sorry, it's just, I don't know what everyone is going to think of me, if anyone hates me, wants me to leave" I began but Rebecca stopped me before I could continue

"No one here hates you, Alpha Kieran told us all about what happened with the rejection, that was cruel, but when we found you in our woods it was clear to see how worried Kieran was about you, its been hard for him too with his rejection, don't worry about the people here, we all class each other as a family, if you and Kieran do end up as mates we will all support you, you are welcome here don't rush anything too fast" Rebecca advised

I had just finished putting on the clothes that Rebecca had gotten me, as I came out of the small bathroom, Kieran was in the room.

"You look nice, ready to go out and explore ?" Kieran asked with a smile as he held out his hand to me

"Yes please" I said very eagerly and placed my hand in his.

I held onto Kieran as he led me out the very large mansion. I can only explain this place as a mansion as it was far too big to be a house. Either this was a mansion or it was a castle. There was so many rooms upstairs. As we made our way out, a few of the pack members passed us and acknowledged Kieran, and sent a small smile my way. I smiled back in return. I tried my best to keep Rebecca's words afloat in my mind.

"Where would you like to go ?" Kieran asked giving me the option

"Can we maybe go for a walk around outside ?" I asked feeling hopeful

"Outside it is" Kieran said as he took my hand and led the way outside. He walked us to the opening of the woods.

"If the woods are too much we can go around the back" Kieran offered

"No the woods should be fine as long as we don't delve too deep into them" I smiled

We took a nice peaceful walk enjoying the fresh air and nature that was surrounding us.

"Want to see something spectacular ?" Kieran asked with a smile. He clearly knew my answer was going to be yes.

"Yes" I smiled at him.

Kieran took my hand and led the way to wherever it was he was taking me. We walked for a while before I heard the sound of running water. We came out an opening of trees. There was a bridge just up from the opening but Kieran went down rather than over the bridge. Under the bridge there was a large waterfall by a river. The river had some beautiful rocks and stones surrounding it.

"Beautiful isn't it ? I like to come here when I want time alone to think or just to have some space or peace and quiet for a bit" Kieran said as he gazed over the water.

"It's beautiful here" I replied as I looked around, taking in my surroundings.

We sat by the river and waterfall for a while talking about random things. I could feel myself starting to feel a connection with Kieran. It began to get dark and cold so Kieran decided it was best we headed back to the mansion. I rubbed my arms over each other to try and get some heat or warmth.

"Cold ?" Kieran asked with a look of concern on his face. I have to admit, I wasn't used to anyone being this concerned about me or showing me this much affection.

"Yeah a little" I answered

Kieran took his hoodie off and draped it over my shoulders. He was very close to me.

"Here you go this should keep you warm until we get back" Kieran said

I just smiled at him, looking into his dark brown eyes, Kieran staring back into my ocean blue eyes. We both leaned in slow but close to each other. Suddenly our lips brushed against each other.......
