《We're Just Friends (Clexa AU)》Chapter Ninety Two

A couple of months later, around April, Lexa thought everything was good. Roan was finally caught, she was upset he didn't go to jail, but he did get 400 hours of community service, Finn was in jail, Jake had gone away after Abby gave him the money, Clarke and Abby finally had an actual talk about everything that happened, volleyball had finally started again, and she was graduating soon with her lovely girlfriend. Clarke on the other hand was freaking out.
"No, I'm not going."
"You have to, now get in the car," Clarke's mom said.
"No, I'm not doing it. I can't and I won't."
"Babe, it won't be that bad," Lexa said.
"Yes it will, Lincoln was in so much pain when he got his out."
"You're getting your wisdom teeth out today and it's final. Now get in the fucking car," Abby said.
"MMOOOOMMM, please don't make me," Clarke whined.
"Get your ass in the car."
"I'm scared, I never say when I'm scared, but I'm really fucking scared."
"It'll be okay. Your mom already talked to the doctors, so we'll both be there until you go under, and then we'll be there when you wake up."
"Can you not say put me under? It sounds creepy."
"When they give you the anesthetic," Lexa said, correcting herself.
"Fine, I guess I'll go."
"That's my girl," Lexa said with a kiss on Clarke's cheek, watching as she blushed.
The whole ride to the dentist Clarke was freaking out and complaining. When she got there it took about ten minutes for her to find the courage to walk into the office. And when the dentist came in she made her pinky promise she wouldn't kill her.
"Lexa, you better," Clarke's words started to slur as she started to fall asleep, "uhhh, you better take care of me like umm, like I..."
"Did she fall asleep?" Lexa asked the dentist.
"Yup."
"Great, wanna go get some lunch, Lexa?" Abby asked.
"Don't you think we should wait?"
"No, you guys can do. It'll take a little less than an hour to do the surgery, then about thirty minutes for her to wake up."
"Oh, umm okay."
After lunch, when Lexa and Abby got back in the room Clarke looked over and started giggling as she covered her face. She looked at Lexa again giggled some more.
"What are you laughing about?" Lexa asked.
"You're pretty," Clarke whispered, muffled by all the gauze in her mouth.
"So are you."
"Thank you," Clarke said giggling even more.
"Wow, I thought she was going to be loud and obnoxious not quiet and shy," Abby said to Lexa.
"I don't think I've ever seen her like this," Lexa said, "it's extremely cute."
"Me neither, not even when she was a baby."
"Mom?"
"Yes, honey?"
"I don't think I say this enough, I just wanted to tell you I love you and I'm so grateful for you. You let me be myself, and let me love who I wanna love, and just support me so much. I love you, Mom."
"I love you too Clarke."
"Mom?"

"Clarke?"
"When we get home can I cuddle with her?" Clarke asked pointing at Lexa.
"I don't know honey, you should ask her yourself."
"Umm, hi," Clarke said waving a Lexa, "can I cuddle with you?"
"Of course."
Clarke started doing a little dance in her seat as Lexa started smiling at how cute Clarke was being. Clarke saw Lexa smiling at her and start to giggle again.
"Stop looking at me like that," Clarke said to Lexa.
"I'm sorry you're just very cute."
"Stop," Clarke said giggling even more, "you're giving me butterflies."
"Like I said very cute," Lexa said with an even bigger smile.
Clarke started to smile so much that she had to look away from Lexa and cover her face.
A little while later Lexa helped the nurse bring Clarke to the car, who was trying to convince the nurse she'd be fine walking on her own. And when the two finally got into the car Clarke couldn't stop staring at Lexa. The sun was hitting Lexa perfectly, and she couldn't believe how beautiful Lexa was.
"You're staring," Lexa said as she looked up from her phone.
"You're so beautiful," Clarke said muffled by the bloody gauze, "so, so beautiful. The sun makes your eyes so much greener, and your nose is so perfect, your skin is so clear, your just perfect."
"Awww, Clarke, I love you so much."
"I don't think I tell you how beautiful you are enough."
"Baby, you tell me all the time."
"No, I tell you that you're hot and sexy, but beautiful means something completely different. Sexy and hot mean that I wanna have sex with you because you look so good. But beautiful means...I don't know just beautiful. Like pretty, and elegant, and stunning, and just...I don't know how to explain it but I'm tired. Can I use your shoulder to sleep on?"
"Of course baby."
For most of the car ride, Clarke was sitting in the middle cuddled into Lexa's side, with her arms wrapped around the brunette and her head in the crook on her neck, while she slept. At some point, Clarke had woken up and was staring at Lexa again who was on her phone.
"Mom?" Clarke asked, not taking her eyes off Lexa.
"What Clarke?"
"Can I marry Lexa?"
"That's something you have to ask her honey."
Clarke took her seatbelt off and moved so the front half of her was in the front.
"Clarke, get back in your seat!"
"Shhhh, just give me a second mom," Clarke said as she opened the glove box. Once she found what she was looking for she sat back in her seat and looked up at Lexa.
"Lexa, I love you so much."
"I love you too baby."
"You are so cool, and amazing, and you still give me butterflies. And I love you so much that I just wanna marry you. Lexa, will you marry me?" Clarke asked as she held up a small beaded flower ring.
"You wanna marry me?"
"Yeah...If- if you're cool with it."
"I'm cool with it," Lexa said lifting her ring finger.

"Mom, Lexa's my wife," Clarke said as she put the ring on Lexa's finger.
"That's cool honey," Abby said, not fully paying attention to her drugged-up daughter.
"Say hello to your new daughter-in-law...Mom, why aren't you saying hi?"
"Huh? Oh hi, Lexa. Clarke, can you please stop distracting me while I drive?"
"Fine, I'll just talk to my wife."
"So where'd you get the ring from?" Lexa asked.
"Ummm, one of those gumball machines when I was ten."
"Your mom kept it for eight years?"
"Of course, it was super expensive...fifty cents."
"Definitely worth every penny."
"Hey umm, since you're now my wife now, can I kiss you?"
"Of course."
"Where?"
"Anywhere you want."
"Cheek?"
"Sure," Lexa said with a big smile as Clarke kissed her on the cheek.
"Okay, I'm gonna go to sleep," Clarke said as she rested her head on Lexa's shoulder.
The rest of the ride home Clarke slept on Lexa's shoulder as Lexa softly rubbed her back. When they got to the house Lexa brought Clarke up her room while Abby went back out to pick up the pills.
"Clarke, what are you doing?"
"Getting naked, what does it look like?" Clarke asked muffled by all the gauze.
"Why?"
"Because it's more comfortable. Now get nakey and come sleep with me."
"I'm not- no I'm not taking my clothes off. Your mom is coming back."
Clarke shrugged her shoulders as she got into bed, wrapping herself in a blanket like a burrito, "Can't cuddle with me unless you take your clothes off."
"Fine," Lexa said sitting in the papasan chair in the corner.
"Wait no, I wanna cuddle, I said that because I thought you'd take your clothes off. Come here so I can see how soft your clothes are."
Lexa gave Clarke a confused look as she started rubbing her hands all over Lexa's shirt and sweatpants.
"I guess they're soft enough, come on in," Clarke said as she lifted the blanket up making Lexa blush. "Oh come on your my wife now, stop acting like you haven't seen my boobs before."
"I- I- I-"
"Can you be the big spoon?" Clarke asked as she turned to face the wall and curled up in a ball.
"I- I umm, y- yeah, sure."
Once Lexa wrapped her arm around the blonde, Clarke pushed her body as close as she could to Lexa and fell asleep. Lexa smiled as she could hear Clarke softly snoring. She felt relaxed because it wasn't a loud obnoxious snore, it was more of a soft hum that Lexa thought was extremely adorable.
Once Abby got home, finding all of Clarke's clothes in a trail down the hallway, Lexa had to explain to her that Clarke thought it was more comfortable to sleep without clothes.
"Hey Clarke," Lexa whispered as she gently woke Clarke up, "your mum made you some food."
Clarke slowly opened her eyes while bringing the blanket up to her neck, to see Lexa holding a plate of scrambled eggs.
"Where's the avocado toast?"
"Can't eat the toast."
"Where's the eggs benedict?"
"Can't eat the English muffin."
"Mmm, where's the-"
"If it's something crunchy you can't eat it."
"Then I don't want it, eggs are nasty. And what the hell is that," Clarke said pointing to the plate.
"Ketchup?"
"Why is that on the plate?"
"What do you mean, it's scrambled eggs, ketchup goes with them."
"Nuh-uh, not in this household."
"Really, because your mum's the one that put it there."
"MOM- ow I shouldn't have yelled."
"No, you shouldn't. Now, are you gonna eat this or not."
"Not. I want a strawberry cheesecake milkshake."
"You hate milkshakes that arent vanilla or chocolate."
"That's what I want," Clarke said shrugging her shoulders.
"Okay, but that's not food."
"That's what I want, and I want you to make it."
"How would I even make that?"
"I don't know. Ice cream, frozen strawberries, cream cheese, other stuff, put it on a blender. I don't know, you can look it up."
"Fine, but can you eat some eggs first."
"No, they're nasty."
"What about soup? Your mum bought you some soups."
"Mmmaybe, what kind?"
"Lentil?" Lexa asked earning a fake gag. "Okay, butternut squash?" Lexa asked earning another fake gag. "Split pea?"
"Split pea? What the hell is split pea? No, I don't want that, it sounds disgusting."
"Okay, your last option is minestrone."
"Is that the soup with the tiny little tube pasta?" Clarke asked as she used her fingers to show how tiny she meant.
"Yeah, b-"
"Then that's what I want."
"But I'm pretty sure this one uses small shells."
"Why does everything go wrong in my life? I don't want it."
"Oh my god, you're like a five-year-old."
"Gotta be a diva, have respect. Be that girl you can't forget."
"A-are you singing Hayley Kiyoko?"
"Yes."
"Why?"
"Because I'm a diva, not a five-year-old, so have respect."
"Being called a diva is an insult, you know that right?"
"Nope, I take it as self-confident and I always find a way to get what I want."
"Okay whatever, I'm gonna go downstairs and make your stupid milkshake."
"See, always get what I want."
"I don't know if whatever they put Clarke on is starting to wear off or she's just not shy anymore," Lexa said to Abby when she got to the kitchen.
"Why, what happened?"
"She won't eat the eggs, she's making me make her a milkshake, she gagged at all the soup options, a-"
"Even minestrone? That's her favorite."
"No, she said okay until she found out that it had shells instead of tubes. I mean they all taste the same, why does it matter?"
"And how do you expect to have kids?"
"What do you mean?"
"You're complaining about how Clarke's acting, well that's exactly how kids act."
"N- no it isn't, I was never like that, Aden isn't like that...most of the time."
"Maybe, but Clarke was always like that. So if you have kids with her, and those kids actually have her DNA, except some very obnoxious toddlers in your life."
"Are you trying to make me not want kids? Like do you not want grandkids or something?"
"No, I definitely want grandkids, at least four. I'm just saying don't complain about your girlfriend who is on a bunch of pain meds right now."
"I- I- I"
"You what? You don't like how right I am?"
"I'm just gonna make Clarke's milkshake then go sit with her before I leave," Lexa said as she went over to the fridge. "Also I see where Clarke gets her cockiness from."
"Haha, very funny."
"I'm serious, that was definitely something Clarke would say."
"Oh, whatever go make her the milkshake and get out of here."
